[Section I]-Game Information-[Section I]
[Characters]
Donkey Kong - A large, King Kong-esque ape with an
angry disposition.
Jumpman - The hero. Mario's first ever game, before
his name was changed to Mario.
Pauline - The original princess. Jumpman's girl
who was kidnapped by Donkey Kong.
[Objective]
Donkey Kong has escaped from the zoo and kidnaped
Mario's girlfriend, Pauline. Jumpman must climb level
after level of fallen I beams to reach his love at
the top. Jumpman's only defense is an occasional
hammer and his ability to jump. Too bad for him that
when he does make it to the top, Donkey Kong just
snaches up Pauline and heads for higher ground.

Start | |-|
Goal - Reach Pauline on the top platform.
Difficulty - <><>< (out of 5)
Walkthrough - You begin on the very bottom of the
screen, and you must simply run up the ramps to
the top. Donkey Kong will throw barrels down at
you while you climb, but jumping over them isn't
to hard. Watch out, because occasionally a barrel
will zig-zag down the screen or roll down a
ladder, so watch out. Two hammers are on this
stage and can aid in knocking out the barrels.
Just take your time and hop over any incoming
barrels and you should make it to the top without
much trouble.

J - Jumpman F - Fireball [---] - Platform
Start X - Items |
Goal - Collect both pink items while making your
way to Pauline at the top of the screen.
Difficulty - <><>
Walkthrough - This level may look intimidating at
first, but it is noticably easy that the first
level. The biggest aid is the fact that Donkey
Kong doesn't throw barrels at you in this level!
Whew!
Anyways, you will also notice two pink items in
this level: an umbrella and a purse. Being the
natural hero that Jumpman is, you must collect
both before saving Pauline. Start by climbing up
and picking up the umbrella. Next, you must use
the moving platforms to hop across to the middle
of the level. Watch out for the fireball that
patrols the area.
After using the second set of moving platforms to
get to the bottom right of the screen, just hop
up the steps to the purse, watching out for the
second fireball. Then, it's a simple jog to
Pauline.
Oh, one more thing! Despite a lack of rolling
barrels, springs continue to bounce along the top
and drop down the right side of the screen. They
always fall in the same spot, so you just have to
time your jumps through said areas.

J - Jumpman 0 - Hammer X - Items
Start | z - Rivets
Goal - Walk over all of the rivets to knock them
out, collect the pink items, and watch
Donkey Kong plummet!
Difficulty - <><><>
Walkthrough - This level is a bit more open than
the other two. Again, there are no barrels being
hurled at you. However, several fireballs appear
as you run around the level. They don't provide
a major threat unless you get cornered.
The basic idea is to run floor to floor over the
rivets, and collecting the items. If you get in
trouble with the fireballs, just grab the hammer
on the third floor and whoop up!
After crossing over every rivet the middle of the
structure falls out, and DK falls to his grave!
Yay! After completing the third and final stage
you are returned to stage one, with faster and
slightly harder enemies.
[Game A v. Game B]
While Game A is the normal arcade version of
Donkey Kong, Game B is a slightly harder version.
In Game B, there are more enemies and they seem
to be a bit trickier and faster. Either way,
it's the same stages. Enjoy!
[Items]
Hammer - Jumpman's trust hammer. This will allow
you to walk around and whomp on enemies for a
short period of time. However, you cannot jump
while using the hammer. Every item you smack
awards 500 points.
Umbrella - A pink item that nets you 800 points.
Purse - Another pink item worth 800 points.
Rivet - Little pieces that you must walk over to
remove in order to beat DK in Stage 3. Worth
100 points each.
[Enemies]
Barrel - In Stage 1, they rolls down the ramps,
occasionally rolling down the ladders, too. Also,
watch out for ones that zig-zag down the screen!
Sm. Fireball - From the oil barrel in Stage 1, and
in Stage 2, they moves around in patterns trying
to get Jumpman. Just avoid them at all costs.
Lg. Fireball - Larger baddies that patrol Stage 3,
noticably smarter than any other enemies.
Spring - A random spring that bounces down the
right side of Stage 2. Simply avoid it.
