I. Introduction
===============
This game can be fun and frustrating. Not to discourage anyone, I would
recommend a game genie for this game. I would probably rate this game as
intermediate to hard. It is possible to beat the game without a game genie
but proves very difficult. If you don't have a Game Genie, use the code CLYDE
at the password screen. It is a fun game but the player really has to keep
it together to play it. The best word is, use this walkthrough if you are
determined to beat the game. To get maximum enjoyment out of the game, explore
everywhere. Also note that everything on the streets need to be searched for
drugs and money to get the medal from the mayor. This walkthrough will get
you to the end. You do not get the medal from this walkthrough. This is to
beat the game in general. I do recommend going for the different ending. This
walkthrough is used with the map. If you use the map, I would recommend that
you print it in Landscape mode. The map is labeled so that it tells you where
everything is and where it leads to.

A. The Story
============
The story starts out as night falls on the bay of San Francisco. A kingpin
named Jack Bailey sat and reflected upon how great a year he had. He gained
a lot of merchandise and the cops were not doing a thing to bust him. There
weren't too many cops employed. Jack was know as the Dealmaker and was the
most successful kingpin in the Bay area. A new kingpin moved into the area
from Colo-Colombiambia and wanted to make an alliance with the Dealmaker.
His name is The Anaconda. Jack didn't want no part of it. One night however,
a thug slipped in while Bailey was making his plans. The thug took a velvet
rope and strangled him. Harry Callahan went into police headquarters. He
spoke with the chief about the Dealmaker murder. Harry wanted to be on the
case. The chief turned him down and ordered him to take a two week vacation.
Harry left and was determined to meet the Anaconda. Then Harry says those
famous words: "Go ahead, punk, make my day.

B. The Controls
===============

Crosspad Left
=============
Outside you can turn, walk, and climb left. In corridors and rooms you can
turn, or walk left and go through a doorway.

Crosspad Right
==============
Outside you can turn, walk, and climb right. In corridors and rooms you can
turn, or walk right and go through a doorway.

Crosspad Up
===========
Outside you can climb a pole or ladder, enter an alley or go through a door.
In corridors and rooms you can enter another corridor or go through a door.

Crosspad Down
=============
Outside you can climb down a ladder or pole and crouch. In corridors you can
enter other corridors or doors. In rooms, you can only crouch.

A + Crosspad
============
Allows you to aim your weapon and fire it. Press A once to aim, and press
A again to fire. In corridors you can do the same. In rooms, you can drop
plastic explosives by this method.

B Button
========
All that this does is allow Harry to punch his enemies.

B + Crosspad Up
===============
This allows Harry to kick. He can really hurt an enemy. In rooms, Harry can
kick crates and dressers open to find various items.

A + B Button
============
This allows Harry to jump.

A + B + Crosspad Left Or Right
==============================
Allows Harry to jump left or right.

C. The Characters And Strategy
==============================

Dirty Harry
===========
He is the main hero. You control Harry through many dangerous situations.

Bookie
======
He is found in two buildings throughout the game. You need his white suit
when you first run into him. He is very recognizable because he flips a coin.

The Rapster
===========
He is found in two buildings but this walkthrough will bring you into contact
with him once. He will give you plastic explosives. He carries a radio and
he wears a lot of gold. The music changes to a rap tune when you are near
him. He is a member of the longcoats however.

Basketball Guy
==============
You will find him in one building only. He will give you a bullet proof vest
that can take 15 hits.

Bag Lady
========
This walkthrough will not bring you into contact with her. She will give you
chili-dogs.

Bums
====
You will come in contact with 2-3 bums on the streets. If you eat a chili-dog
in front of him, you will get some free lives. They are usually in the sewers
and buildings.

Lady Hostage
============
She is one of the first characters you will encounter. If you save her, she
will give you a few extra lives. She is worth saving.

Hooligans
=========
These guys are the crazy dudes running around with the mohawks. They throw
molotov cocktails, try to beat you with pipes and boards and try to shoot
you. They are found on the streets and in the buildings. They usually hide
behind crates in the rooms.

Gruff
=====
This is one of the bosses you will encounter. He is a pain. He jumps up and
down and launches grenades at you. When he jumps up, shoot him and dodge his
grenades. After painful minutes, he will die and you will receive a few extra
lives.

Longcoats
=========
These guys are the ones who run around in red and green coats. They are very
aggressive and annoying. If you stand under them, they will trap you with
a net. They will stab you with knives, beat you with bats, punch and kick
you and throw bricks at you.

Striker
=======
This guy with mow Harry down with a Winchester pump rifle. He is very difficult
but he will release a few extra lives when beaten.

The Toymaker
============
He is the last boss of the streets. In the sewers, he controls the toy cars
that run into you and explode. He is harmless in boss form. Just drown him
in water.

Dockworkers
===========
These guys are really tough. They have submachine guns. They will put the
hurt on Harry. They also occupy a power boat which will try to shoot you off
the platforms. They usually relinquish valuable items.

Longshore
=========
This guy is not very hard once you figure out his weakness. He will throw
crates at you which takes your life away. Kick him in his groin and then shoot
him with the harpoon gun. If you don't kick him in his groin, he will catch
the harpoons. This guy is going to be sore for awhile....

Mercenaries
===========
These guys are the toughest enemies. They occupy Alcatraz Island and will
stop at nothing to kill you. They will throw knives and grenades at you. They
usually relinquish useful items.

Paratroopers
============
These guys are the same as mercenaries but they drop in on you. They usually
relinquish valuable items.

General Ripper
==============
This is one of the tougher bosses. Arm yourself with the harpoon gun and shoot
him.

D. The Weapons And Items
========================

44 Magnum
==========
Harry starts out with this powerful weapon. It has a maximum of 25 bullets.
It is useful on normal enemies but not on some powerful bosses.
Bullets are usually found in crates, boxes, safes, dressers or are contained
within criminal possession.

Chili Dog
=========
These restore Harry's power. Each one is worth 5 health bars. Harry has a
maximum of 10 health bars. These can also be given to bums in exchange for
extra lives. They are found in crates, boxes, safes, dressers, contained
within criminal possession and are given to Harry by the Bag Lady.

Crowbars
========
These are used to open locked doors. They can be used once. They are found
within crates, boxes, dressers, and safes.

Plastic Explosives
==================
They are used to open safes. They are good for killing anacondas or criminals.
They are found within safes, boxes, dressers, crates and are given to Harry
by the Rapster.

Bullet Proof Vest
=================
This can withstand up to 15 attacks. It is found in a box and is given to
Harry by the Basketball Guy. It can be taken from an enemy also.

Gas Mask
========
This allows Harry to walk through rooms which have poisonous gas running
through them. You can see the fumes coming out of a vent in the center of
the room. This walkthrough does not bring you in contact with poison gas rooms.
It is usually found in a safe or a box.

Trashcan Lids
=============
They protect Harry from molotov cocktails and other flying objects. They are
not inventory items but can be used for a limited time. They are found on
trash cans.

Flashlight
==========
This can help Harry see in the sewers. It is found in safes only.

LAWS Missile Launcher And Missiles
===================================
These are picked up from enemies on the Alcatraz stage. They are very powerful
and are needed to defeat the Helicopter.

Harpoon Gun And Harpoons
========================
These are picked up from defeated enemies. They are powerful. Once fired,
it can spear a few dockworkers at once and impale them all. They are mainly
used on the bosses.

Grappling Hooks
===============
They are found on the streets and on Alcatraz Island. Harry uses them to swing
across the cliffs. Harry gets a maximum of 10.

Money
=====
Obtained by Harry from enemies and crates, boxes etc... Gives Harry points
towards getting a medal from the mayor.

Drugs
=====
These are found by Harry in crates, safes, boxes, and dressers. They give
Harry points towards getting that medal.

E. The Screens
==============

The first screen is a side-scrolling screen. The streets, sewer, docks and
Alcatraz are all examples of this.

The second screen is the corridor and room screen. This is somewhat of an
intersecting screen. You can go up and down, left and right. In the rooms,
you can only go left and right.

F. The Levels
=============

Level 1 - The Streets

The streets are a dangerous place for Harry. Not only does he have to put
up with gangs and hoodlums, he has to watch out for other dangers. The streets
are not very well maintained. Ladders and fire escape platforms are broken
and the buildings are falling apart. Harry meets many different characters
throughout his ventures. After strolls through buildings and the streets,
Harry gets to cool off in the nasty sewers. Harry has to watch out for rats,
cockroaches, toy cars, electricity and radioactive goo... At the end of this
mess, you battle the Toymaker. He isn't difficult.

Level 2 - The Docks

The streets seem like a fairy tale after trying this place! Harry has to
navigate the docks and be wary of the dangerous dockworkers. They will plug
Harry full of bullets. Harry can also take a ride on a swinging crate while
being shot at by a dockworker in a powerboat. One hit by him on a crate and
you automatically fall into the water and lose a life. When you get to the
end, you get to battle a disgruntled dockworker.

Level 3 - Alcatraz Island

This level is the hardest of them all! Mercenaries are crawling all over the
place with orders to kill. They are surrounded by land mines which take
Harry's life away. After Harry goes through the front of the prison, he has
to swing across the side of the island. There is nothing below and boulders
fall from the sky. If Harry is hit by a boulder while swinging on a rope or
standing still, he will be knocked off into the dark chasm below. Harry then
travels to the back of the prison where he begins to go up to the top levels
of the prison. There, Harry is confronted by General Ripper and The Anaconda
himself.

NOTE: When you use passwords, you cannot carry over items that you previously
gained. Each time you use a password, you start with what the computer gives
you. If you play the game straight through, you can carry items over from
previous levels.

G. The Dangers
==============

Harry can be hurt by all enemies by various methods.

Harry can be hurt by falling of a building or other tall area. Watch          out
for platforms without a floor!

Electric wires are very dangerous to Harry. He can be shocked very bad.
Also look out for the transformers on electric poles. They can be very
dangerous.

Anacondas crawl in many of the rooms. Some are black, some are green. Jump
on them to kill them. Sometimes you will only stun them. Just wait and jump
on them again or set plastic explosives on them.

Laser security systems are a pain. They are located in most buildings if
not all. They will harm Harry. Wait for the lasers to get close to each other
then jump over them.

Sharpshooters will hide in rooms. They will peak out of open doors and shoot
at you.

When opening safes, crates or dressers be very careful. Some of them contain
explosives ready to blow you up.

A guard stays in one place in the very first building. If you wear a white
suit, he will not harm you. If you wear your blue suit, he will punch your
lights out.

Poison gas really kills Harry. If you enter a room without a gas mask, get
out of there.

Toxic Waste falls out of sewer pipes so watch out!

The sewer is inhabited by cockroaches rats and toy cars. They all give Harry
a tough time.

Water is a major problem for Harry. If you fall in, Harry will lose a life.

H. The Walkthrough
==================

The Streets
===========
PASSWORD To The Docks = MISTY

Path To Building 1
==================
First head right. Hooligans will be throwing Molotov Cocktails at you. Stand
on the manhole cover. Kill enemies on the ground when needed. Face right.
For now they shouldn't be able to hit you. Press A and up once. Fire at him
and kill him. Climb the ladder and jump right onto the platform. Watch out
for the green longcoats strolling along on the sidewalk. Drop onto the small
platform to the right. Drop onto the ground and continue right. Jump over
the sewer entrance. Head into the first building.

Building 1
==========
Go into the 1st door you see. Harry will pick the lock and you lose 1 crowbar.
To open a box on the floor, simply jump on it. The first box on the floor
contains money. The first dresser contains bullets. The second dresser
contains a crowbar. Exit the room and go left. Head up the hall. Go right
and enter the open door. Sometimes when you are in the hall, a sniper will
peak his head through the door. Jump on top of the snake until he is dead.
(Follow the strategy above.) The crate contains drugs. The first dresser
contains bullets. The safe contains drugs (it can't be opened for now). Exit
the building the same way you entered.

Path To Building 2
==================
Head right. Go past the alley and avoid the longcoats. If they fire at you,
duck. Never stand under a longcoat. If you get trapped in a net, press right
then left repeatedly. Go right and into the second building.

Building 2
==========
Open the first door you see that is closest to you. You will lose a crowbar.
Kill the snake. The first dresser contains crowbars. The second dresser
contains nothing. The third dresser will explode when opened. Go right and
through the door. Watch the patterns of the security lasers and wait for them
to get relatively close to each other. Jump over them and keep going right.
In the next room, kill the snakes. The crate contains bullets. The dresser
contains a bomb. The second crate contains nothing. The third crate contains
drugs. The fourth crate contains a bomb. The 2nd dresser contains a crowbar.
The safe contains the flashlight, but the safe is not accessible now. Exit
the two rooms to the hall. Go left and up. Get in front of the Bookie and
jump up and down until he gives you his white suit. Go in the door. There
is a hooligan behind the first dresser. The box on the floor contains 4 plastic
explosives. The first dresser contains nothing. The first crate contains a
plastic explosive. The second box on the floor contains a crowbar. The third
box on the floor contains bullets. Remember the safe with the flashlight in
it? Head back to that room. Press start and set the cursor over the plastic
explosives. Set the plastic explosives in front of the safe and jump out of
the way. The flashlight is yours. Exit the building.

Backtracking To Building 1
==========================
Head left back to the first building. Enter and go all the way to the left.
Go up the hall. Go in the right-most door. Set the plastic explosives in front
of the safe. Jump out of the way and the drugs are yours. Exit the room and
go left to the locked door. Open the door and go in. You lose a crowbar. You
encounter the guard. He lets you through because of your white suit. You see
a damsel in distress at the end of the room. Get in front of her and jump
up and down. She gives you more lives for saving her. (Note: Extra Lives Look
Like Police Badges!) Exit the building.

Onward To Building 6
====================
Go right and head up the alley (A1). Notice the brick wall. There is another
one on the other side. Do not fall into there! If you do, just work your way
back through the building to the street where you began. Sometimes this is
a little tricky. See the map supplement for help back to where you need to
be. Climb the ladder and jump onto the brick wall. From there, jump onto the
solid platform, not the broken one. Jump onto the next platform. Jump over
the broken area then climb the small ladder. Do not move. Jump to the right
and you'll land on a solid platform. Jump to the right and climb the ladder.
Go right and jump onto the brick wall. Head right once more (alley A2). You
will come out of an alley. Go left past the building door. Keep to the left.
Enemies will appear in a random order. Go all the way left until you reach
the ladder. Climb it and jump onto the brick wall. Drop on the lower platform
then drop on the ground. Go left to the door and enter.

Building 6
==========
Jump in front of the bum laying on the floor. He will give you extra lives.
Go down the hall and head right. Look for the door with and up arrow and enter.
Go right and into the door. Kill the green snake. The first dresser contains
drugs as well as the second one. The third one contains nothing. The crate
contains a bomb. The second crate contains bullets. Exit and go back
downstairs. Go down the hall. Go left into the open door. Kill two snakes.
The first crate contains a crowbar as well as the second. The safe contains
drugs. The dresser contains bullets. Go right into the next room. The dresser
contains a chili-dog. The crate contains a crowbar. The dresser has a bomb
with a hooligan attached. The box on the floor contains plastic explosives.
Exit the rooms and go back to the bum. Exit the building.

Onward To Building 5
====================
Go all the way to the left until you see the broken ladder. Climb it all the
way. Jump and press up to grab the next ladder. Jump onto the platform and
go left. From there jump onto the fence. Climb the telephone pole. Jump onto
the wire. Press down when you are over the crates. Go inside the door.

Building 5
==========
Go upstairs. Go right and then go up the hall. Jump in front of the basketball
player. He gives you the bullet proof vest. Go left and enter. Jump over the
security laser. Go right. The first crate contains plastic explosives. The
second crate contains bullets. The safe contains an extra life. Exit the room
and go back downstairs. Exit the building.

Onward To Building 4
====================
Go all the way left until you see the door. Fight enemies as needed.

Building 4
==========
As soon as you enter, you will see the Rapster. He will be walking back and
forth listening to his music. Jump in front of him until he gives you some
plastic explosives. Go down the hall. Go down again. Go left and down the
hall again. Head to the right and exit.

The Sewer Awaits
================
Head right and go into the sewer. Once inside, first you want to go right
and down the ladder. Be sure to avoid the electricity flashes and the toxic
waste that drops from the pipes. If rats come your way, jump on them. You
cannot kill cockroaches so avoid them totally. Go left and down the ladder.
Go to the edge and jump down onto the platform. Go a little left. A moving
platform will be coming your way. It looks like a lily pad sort of. Drop onto
the moving platform. Do not let the toxic waste hit you. If you stand still
on the very left of the platform, it shouldn't hit you. When you are under
the small platforms that are on top of each other, jump onto the lower one.
Jump onto the one above you. Jump left into the tunnel. Jump over the toxic
waste pipe and the electricity. Go down the ladder. Once at the bottom, head
right until you see a box with a red rectangle on it. It is a switch to open
the sewer grates. Push up when you are in front of it. Harry looks like he
turns around when he does it. Go right. Jump over the toxic waste pipe and
the electric wires. Go right past the ladder to the second switch. Push the
switch. Jump over the toxic waste pipe and go up the ladder. Head right and
go up the ladder. Jump over the waste pipe. Watch out for toy cars. Head right
and go up the ladder. Go right until you get to the switch. Press it. Head
left and go down the ladder. Head left again and go down the ladder. Go left
and jump over the electric wires. Head down the ladder. Go left and go down
the ladder. Head right and jump over waste pipe and electric wires. You will
now be in a somewhat large room. Be careful because there is electric wires
everywhere. Go all the way right and up the ladder. Watch for toy cars. Go
right and up another ladder. Go right again and up another ladder. Press the
switch that you see. Go up the ladder and right all the way. Go up the ladder.
Jump onto the pipe that you see hanging from the ceiling. Be careful of the
electric wires. If you touch one, you will fall off the pipe. Wait for the
electricity to stop and quickly go past them. When you see the large platform,
get directly above it and press down to get onto it. Stand in the middle of
it, watch for toxic waste, and jump left onto the small platform. Jump left
to go into the upper tunnel. Jump over the electric wires, go left and go
up the ladder.

Onward To Building 11
=====================
Go right and you will encounter building eleven. Go inside.

Building 11
===========
Once you enter go all the way left. The door will be open. The box on the
floor contains money. The crate contains drugs. The dresser contains a
crowbar. The second dresser contains the grappling hook and rope. Exit the
room and go back out the way you came in.

Onward To Gruff
===============
Go left and enter the alley (A12). Head right and you will meet Gruff. Get
your gun ready! When he appears, he will jump up and down and throw grenades
at you. Point your gun up and to the right. When he is near his maximum jump
height, shoot at him. After several hits and a few misses, he will perish.
He will relinquish a few extra lives.

Quest For Ammo And Onward To Striker
====================================
If you are out of ammo, go left to alley (A12). Go left and go into building
10. Go up the hall and into the open door. Bullets will be waiting in the
first box on the floor. Exit the building the same way you entered. Go back
up alley (A12). Head right and enter the alley (A13). Go left and head up
the telephone pole. Jump onto the wire and then onto the first brick wall.
Shoot the Longcoat and avoid falling down. Jump left onto the second brick
wall. Jump left onto the small platform underneath the electric box on the
pole. From there, jump left on the wire avoiding contact with the electric
box. When you get over a solid platform, drop onto it. A man will be shooting
at you from your left. Avoid being shot while you are climbing on the wire.
Shoot the man. Get back on the wire. Go all the way left and go down the pole.
Go up the alley (A11). Go left to meet Striker. He will appear to your right,
so have your gun ready ahead of time. When he appears, let him have it. Shoot
him very fast until he dies. He will give up a few lives when he dies.

Quest For More Ammo
===================
Head right and go into alley (A11).Go left and jump up on the stack of crates.
Climb up the ladder. Keep jumping left on the ladders until you get to the
platform with a Longcoat on it. Get onto the platform and punch him out. Keep
jumping left on the ladders and jump onto the platform. From the roof, jump
on the mini platforms and get onto the ground. Go all the way left until you
get to a door. Do NOT go in. Instead keep heading left. Once you go all the
way, take the ladder up. Jump left over the fence and drop to the ground.
Head left and go inside Building 8. (If you wish to explore all the rooms,
read the building plans file FIRST.) Once inside, ignore the bookie. Go down
the hall and to your right to the first door. Kill the two green anacondas
that are slithering on the floor. The safe contains an extra life. The last
dresser contains plastic explosives. Go right through the door. The first
box on the ground contains bullets. The second, chili dogs. The third, drugs.
The crate contains drugs. And the last box contains money. Exit the two rooms
and head down the hall. Go in the first open door. Go to the first box on
the floor and jump on it. You will receive the gas mask. Get the other stuff
from the remaining containers. Exit and go out the way you came in.

Heading For The Last Sewer
==========================
Head right to alley (A11). You will pass a wall, building 13 and another wall.
Once you are back where you killed Striker, head left to alley (A14).Go right
until you get to the telephone pole. (What ever you do, do not fall off the
wire. If you fall down, you will have to make your way back through the sewers.
Sometimes, the sewer can take you back all the way to the beginning. If you
get totally lost, find the nearest building and check it with the buildings
plan.) Get on the wire. Go right until you see the electric box. Get directly
over the platform and press down. Jump right to the second platform. Get on
the wire and keep going right. You will see a Longcoat on a wall. Get out
of his shooting distance. After he shoots, QUICKLY go right and keep on
truckin'. The Longcoats on the ground will be shooting at you too. Go right
over the last wall and head down into the sewer.

The Last Sewer
==============
This sewer is completely different. It is a reddish tint instead of the normal
grey tint. Go right and down the ladder. Head right and go down the ladder.
Head left and go down the ladder. Go left to the switch. Push it. Go right
and take the ladder. Go right again and take the ladder. Go left and take
the ladder. Go right and down the ladder. Hit the switch. Go left and up the
ladder. Then go left and down the ladder. Watch out for rats and electric
wires. Go right and down the ladder. Go left and watch out for toxic waste
and electric wires. Keep going left and down the first ladder you see. Go
left until you get to the switch. Push it. Go right and up the first ladder
you see. Go left and take the ladder. Go right to the switch and push it.
Go left and down the ladder. Go right and down the ladder. Go left and down
the ladder. Go left, avoid the toxic waste, go down the ladder when you reach
it. Head right. When you get to the edge, position yourself right at the edge.
Jump right over the water onto the pipes hanging from the ceiling. Avoid the
electric wires. Go right until you get over the platform. Get onto it. From
there, jump onto the mini platform. Jump right into the upper tunnel. Go right
past the ladder to the switch. Push it. Go left and down the ladder. Once
at the bottom, go right and down the ladder. Go right and avoid the electric
wires. Head up the ladder. Go right again and up the ladder. Head left to
the switch. Push it. Head right and go down the ladder. Head left and go down
the ladder. Go right and avoid the toxic waste. Go up the ladder. Go right
and avoid the toy cars. Go up the ladder. Go up the ladder again. From there,
go right and up the ladder. Go right and down the ladder. Go down the ladder
again. Keep going until you reach the bottom. Once at the bottom, go right.
Watch out for toy cars. Go up the ladder. Go right and up the ladder. Go all
the way right and take the ladder up. Go left and up the ladder. Go right
and up the ladder. Go up to him. If you have a chili dog left, stand in front
of him and eat it. He will give you a few extra lives. You probably will need
them. Go right and down the ladder. Go all the way left and down the ladder.
Go right and down the ladder. Go left and up the ladder. Go all the way left
and up the ladder. Go left and up the ladder. Go all the way right and up
the ladder. Go right and up the ladder. Go left and up the ladder. Go all
the way right. Get on the platform. Jump left onto the big platform. Jump
left onto another big platform. Jump up on the mini platform and right and
up to the big platform. Do be careful of the toy chutes.

The Toymaker
============
Take the tunnel all the way right and jump onto the pipe. Jump up the platforms
and go all the way right. Watch for the toy chutes. Jump right onto the big
platform and edge right off of it onto the platform below. Jump right onto
the second platform. Jump onto the ladder and climb it to the top. Jump left
onto the small platform and jump left onto the other platform. See the red
circle? Get in front of it and press up. Since you turned the water valve
on, QUICKLY jump left onto the bottom left platform. Jump on the ladder and
climb it all the way to the top. STAY THERE! The water will fill the room
in the matter of seconds. It will make contact with the Toymaker and
electrocute him. Look at those weird toys in the water. Jump right onto the
boat. It will go as far as the ball. Pull your gun and aim it at the ball.
Shoot it and stay on the boat until the boat stops. When it stops, it will
turn into a few extra lives.

To The Waterfront
=================
Head up the ladder. Go left and up the ladder. Head left to the switch and
press it. Go right and go down. Then go right and down the ladder. Jump left
onto the pipes and go down on the platforms. Go left and down the ladder.
Head right, avoid the electric wires and the toxic waste. Head down the ladder.
Go left and avoid the toxic waste and electric wires. Go left until you get
to the switch and press it. Go right and up the ladder. Go left all the way
and down the ladder. Go left again and down the ladder. Head left again and
down the ladder. Head right and jump onto the pipes. Avoid the electricity.
Once you are over the platform, drop onto it. A moving platform will be coming
your way. When it gets near the platform, step off onto it. When it gets under
the platform, jump onto it. Jump onto the ladder and climb it. Go right into
the tunnel and head right. From there, go down the ladder. Go left all the
way and avoid the electric wires and toxic waste. Go down the ladder. Head
left and avoid the electric wires, and keep going until you get to a switch.
Press it. Go right and up the ladder. Go right all the way and down the ladder.
Go right and avoid the electric wires and toxic waste. Head up the ladder.
Congratulations. You made it to level two.


The Docks
=========
PASSWORD To Alcatraz Island = BIRD

This is one of the harder levels in the game. There are no puzzling mazes
to be encountered here! This is just one screen and it makes up for the
troubles by giving you more hard enemies. If you duck, you still can be hit
by the dockworkers. They also have automatic guns that shoot two bullets at
a time continuously.

First, jump out of the hole and stop. There will be a gunman on top of some
crates. Get near him but not as close to where you can get shot. Jump up to
make him shoot straight. QUICKLY run under him, get your gun ready and shoot
two guys that are coming after you. As soon as you take care of them, stand
under the man on the crates. Aim your gun straight up and plug him. Go right
and when you see an open warehouse door, two men will run out after you. Take
care of them. Head right and another gunman will be on top of some crates.
A gunman will be firing at you from your right so be careful. Shoot him and
then take care of the gunman on the crates like you did before. The man on
the crates will relinquish chili dogs. Head right and a man will try to hit
you with something. Head right and there will be another warehouse door. Once
again, two enemies will come out after you. It is best that you shoot these
guys instead of punching and kicking them. Keep going right and jump over
the small hole in the dock. Head right to the gaps in the dock. Jump onto
the first section of dock and have your gun prepared to shoot a gunman to
your right. Kill the man and jump over the rest of the gaps. Once you are
on the solid dock, go right and you will see a barrel on the ground. It is
filled with explosives. Get your gun ready and shoot the man on the cement
platform. Get on the left side of the drum and face your right. Kick it and
it will fall into the water. It will float all the way right next to the gunman
on the lower dock. Shoot the barrel once it stops and it will kill that pesky
man. Jump right onto the pipe and follow it to the lower dock. Get your gun
ready and shoot the man on the lower dock. He will be to your right. Go right
and get on the ladder. Try not to get shot. There is a gunman on the upper
dock. Get onto the upper dock and duck. Get your gun ready and shoot him.
Head right and watch out for a man that will chuck a barrel at you. If the
barrel rolls on the ground, jump over it. If the barrel bounces on the ground,
wait for it to reach it's highest point and run under it. There will also
be a gunman so be very careful. Head right and you will see a gunman on the
lower docks. Shoot him. Go right and get onto the lower dock. A man will come
out of the warehouse door. Take care of him. Go right and avoid shots from
an upper platform. Shoot the man. He will relinquish the harpoon gun with
harpoons! Do not use the harpoons until noted. Go right and another man will
run out of a warehouse door. Shoot the second gunman on the platform. Head
up the ladder. Go right and watch for a gunman. Shoot him. Take care of the
second gunman on the platform. Jump on the upper cement platform. Shoot the
man that you see to the right. He will give up a bullet proof vest (not very
helpful for what you are about to encounter!). Jump onto the second platform.
Shoot the gunman you see on the lower platform. He will give up a chili dog.
Jump right onto the long platform. There will be a man there so shoot him
QUICKLY. Go right to the edge. Walk off onto the small platform. Jump right
onto the platform below the gunman. Walk a little bit left on the platform
(don't fall off). Face right and jump onto the mini platform. Be careful of
yet another gunman. Jump right on the mini platform and then onto the dock.
Duck. After you hear a shot, hold down and punch at the same time. Kill him.
There will be a regular dockworker and another gunman to take care of. Go
right and there will be a man that will throw a barrel at you. Go right and
jump over the gap in the dock. This is the tough part. A man in a powerboat
will come by you every ten seconds with the LAWS Missile Launcher. If you
are on any mini platform, ladder or crate, you most likely will be knocked
off. If you are on a platform, jump and that can be avoided. However you will
sustain damage in every case. Climb the ladder up all the way. Jump on the
platform to the right. Jump onto the top platform. Then jump onto the platform
below you to your right. Jump onto the platform above you to your right. Jump
to the crate which moves up and down. You will land on the platform and will
be crushed by the crate. Jump on the platform that is to your upper right.
Again, jump on the platform on your upper right. Once again, jump on the
platform on your upper right. Get on the left side of the platform and jump
right onto the mini platform. Wait until the boat passes and jump onto the
moving crate. (This is very tricky.) Stay on the crate until you reach a set
of three platforms. Jump onto the very top one. (You couldn't stay on the
crate because a missile would have knocked you off.) Wait until the boat
passes and the crate is moving right. Jump onto the crate and ride it to the
next set of three platforms. Get on the top one and wait for the crate. Wait
for the boat to pass and get on the crate. The crate will turn around quickly
so jump off onto the mini platform. Jump right onto the next and jump up to
the highest mini platform. Then jump right onto the dock. Try not to fall
in the water. Go right and shoot the gunman on the lower dock. Go right and
a man with a barrel will be waiting. Dispose of him and shoot the gunman on
the lower dock that you see to your right. He will give up bullets. Go right
and watch out for another barrel man and a gunman on the lower docks. Dispose
of them. Go right and a man will come out of the warehouse. Plug him, then
do the same with the gunman on the lower dock. Go right up to the gap and
shoot the gunman on the lower dock. Go over gap and right to the edge of the
dock. Walk off onto the lower dock. Jump over the gap and watch for the gunman
on the lower deck. Shoot him and he'll give up an extra life. Climb the ladder
and punch the dockworker out. Take care of the gunman on top of the crates
and the guy on the lower dock. Once killed, the guy on the lower dock gives
you bullets. Go right and a guy will run out of the warehouse. Take care of
him, then shoot the gunman on the lower dock. Go right and a man will come
out of the warehouse door. Take care of him then you'll encounter another
barrel man. Kill him and go right. Kill another barrel man and shoot the guy
on the lower docks. The guy on the lower docks relinquishes harpoons once
killed. Take care of another barrel man and go right to take care of yet
another barrel man and a gunman on the lower docks. The guy on the lower docks
gives up bullets once killed. Also you will deal with another gunman standing
on top of crates to your right. Go right and take care of yet another gunman.
He will give you another extra life when he is killed. Go right and jump over
the gap. Go right and drop onto the lower deck. Jump right over the gap. There
will be two barrel men and a gunman to kill. Go right and jump over the gap.
There'll be another barrel man to kill. Head right to the gap. Shoot the barrel
man and jump right over the gap. Continue right and jump over the gaps. Watch
for the gunman on the other side. Head right and finally you will meet the
boss of this hard level. You get to meet Longshore. He will pick up crates
and throw them on you. Get up close to him and avoid the crates. Get the harpoon
gun ready. Kick him in the groin and when he stops, shoot him with a harpoon.
You should have about twenty or so harpoons to shoot him with. Don't bother
to use your gun on him because it won't work. Also, you have to kick him in
his groin before you can shoot him with the harpoon gun. If you shoot him
without kicking him, he will catch the harpoon and you will have one less
hit on him. Repeat these steps until he dies. You will receive extra lives.
Walk right and walk off onto the lower deck. Walk right over the powerboat
and the level ends. You are now ready for level three.

Alcatraz Island
===============
PASSWORD For Infinite Lives = CLYDE

Outside Alcatraz
================
This is the last level in the game. It is also one of the hardest ones because
death is inevitable in this level. Brace yourself for this level. Okay, jump
right onto the ground below. There will be two men above you. Shoot them.
Climb the pipe and get onto the top platform. Shoot the man you see on the
lower platform. If you fall on the ground, avoid the red circles because they
will damage you. Shoot the man that you see to the right. Jump right onto
a platform then right to another one. Edge to the right of the platform and
shoot the man to your lower right. Shoot again to kill another man that is
underneath him. Jump on the ladder and then jump right onto a platform. Shoot
the man below you, then jump right onto the cement wall. Kill the man standing
on the platform to your right. Avoid the mercenaries that are throwing the
grenades at you. Shoot the mercenary on the platform to your upper right.
Jump on the crates and head right. Avoid the land mines. Head right to the
second ladder. Shoot the men above you and go up the ladder. Sometimes the
same guys will reappear so be careful. Go right and shoot the man on the
platform. Get onto that platform and shoot the gunman to the right. Jump right
onto that platform. Shoot yet another man and jump onto that platform. Head
right and shoot a man on the lower platform. Jump onto the pipe then get on
the upper platform. Shoot the man you see. Go right to the edge of the platform.
Shoot the man to get some more bullets. Jump over the ladder onto the next
platform. Go right and shoot the man. Shoot the man on the lower platform.
Jump right onto the mini-platform. Jump right onto the bigger platform. Shoot
the man on the lower platform. Shoot the man you see to the right. He will
relinquish a grappling hook with ropes. Jump right onto the next platform
the over the cement wall. Head right and you will encounter somewhat of a
challenge.

The Cliffs
==========
Now you will be scaling the cliffs of Alcatraz. The most important thing to
remember is not to get hit by the boulders. If you get hit, usually the
boulders will knock you off the cliffs. You can see light brown patches on
the cliffs. You may stand on them. You can also stand on the circle rock
formations. On the brown ledges, you must jump from one solid section to
another. Do not walk unless I tell you to do so. If you do, you may fall off
the cliff. Jump on the brown ledges and go right until you see a tree stump
rock formation. Jump onto it. Use you first grappling hook. You should be
on a large light brown platform. Jump right onto the circular looking platform.
Use a grappling hook. Use another one. You should land on a small rock. Jump
right onto a large platform and go to its edge. Use another grappling hook.
Once on the solid platform, stay to the very left, but you must face right.
Use another grappling hook and rope. Jump up two times and get to the very
right of that platform. Use another grappling hook and rope. Jump right onto
the small platform. Jump right onto a platform. Jump onto another platform,
then onto another. Edge left onto the platform below. Go left a little and
jump right onto a small platform. Use a rope and grappling hook. Jump onto
the rock above you. Use another grappling hook and rope. You'll land on a
large rock. Jump right onto the platform. Jump right onto the small rock.
Jump right onto another small rock. Edge left and jump onto a small platform.
Jump right onto another small platform. Use a rope and grappling hook. You'll
land on a rock. Jump right onto a small platform. Use the rope and you'll
swing to the next scene.

The Backside Of Alcatraz
========================
Don't move. You can't get shot. Shoot the man above you. Get on the pipe and
jump on the cement wall. Get onto the small platform. Shoot the man. Jump
right onto the small platform. Jump right onto the next platform. Jump on
the pipe and be careful of the gunman that will shoot at you. Go right on
the pipe and go over small platforms. Keep going and get on the cement wall.
Jump right onto the pipe. Jump right onto the platform and punch the man out.
Jump right onto the ladder and jump up onto the platform above. Duck and punch
the man out. Shoot the other man to the right. Jump right onto the platform
and shoot the man on the lower platform. Get onto that lower platform. Jump
right onto the cement wall. Jump up on the platform and kill the man you see.
He will give up some bullets. Shoot the man to your right. Jump right onto
the platform where the man was standing. Jump right onto the pipe and once
again, watch out for a gunman. Go right on the pipe to the mini platform.
Drop onto it. Get onto the lower platform where the gunman is and punch him
out. Jump right onto the next platform. DO NOT go in the door you see or it
will take you to the beginning of the level. Jump right onto the pipe and
climb it. Jump right onto the other pipe and take it to your right. Go over
the cement wall and drop onto the ground. Avoid the gunmen and jump right
over the mine. Jump right over the next mine. Avoid the paratroopers and jump
right over the next two mines. Keep jumping over the mines until you get to
a ladder. Go up the ladder. Go right on the platform and kill the gunman.
Jump down and you will take some damage. Jump right over the mines and avoid
the enemies. Shoot your enemies if needed. Go right to another ladder and
go up it. Jump up. Jump right onto the small platform. Jump right onto the
next platform and shoot the man. He will give up some harpoons. Jump right
onto the next platform. Jump onto the small platform and then right onto the
ladder. Now jump left onto the small platform next to the ladder. Jump right
onto the small platform across the way. Jump right onto the big platform.
Stand on the very left then jump right onto the small platform. Jump right
onto the big platform. Shoot the gunman. Jump right on the big platform. Stand
on the very left side then jump right onto the mini-platform. Shoot the man
on your right. He will give up some bullets. Walk right on the mini-platform
below you. Jump right onto the big platform and then jump right onto the cement
wall. Get on the ground and go right through the door.

Inside Alcatraz
===============
Head all the way right and you will meet General Ripper. Arm yourself with
the harpoon gun. It is the last time you will need it. General Ripper will
usually jump over you if you walk towards him. Walk towards him and when he
is about to jump, shoot him. If you run out of harpoons, use your gun. Try
to preserve your bullets for the final battle. Once beaten, General Ripper
will give you a few extra lives. Go right and through the door.

On Top Of Alcatraz
==================
Shoot the man above you. He will release an extra life. Go right and jump
over mine. Shoot the man above you. He will give you bullets. Jump right onto
ladder and go up. Get onto the roof, then shoot the man below you to your
right. Go right and avoid the grenade throwing mercenaries. Go right and you
will see three platforms with three men on them. Shoot them all. Go right
and shoot three more men on three more platforms. Kill the gunman to your
right and go right. Avoid the door and go right to the watchtower. Shoot the
man On Top of it. He will relinquish a LAWS Missile Launcher! Jump onto the
watchtower and go right.

Faulty Roof
===========
Go right and shoot the man below you. He will give you bullets. Go right and
jump over the break in the platform. Go right and kill the gunman below you..
Go right over another break. Kill the man below you. He will give you an extra
life. Go right over the breaks until you get to a ladder. Go down the ladder.
Kill the gunman. You will get bullets. Jump right over the breaks in the roof.
Kill the gunman. Jump right over the break in the roof. Go right and jump
over the break in the roof. Head up the ladder. You should see the attack
helicopter. It will spray a lot of bullets at you. Use the LAWS Missile
Launcher on it. It aims just like a gun. After a few shots it will explode.
You might lose a few lives to this battle.

To The Anaconda
===============
Go right and jump over the major break in the ceiling. Go right and jump over
the breaks in the platforms and continue right to The Anaconda. Finally, you
get to meet the Kingpin behind this mess. He will shoot his gun at you and
usually hits the mark. Use your missile launcher on him if you have any
missiles left. If you run out of missiles, use your .44 magnum on him. He
stands on a platform that moves up and down. Be careful and kill him. After
you kill him, it will cut to the end scene. It will show The Anaconda on the
ground. Harry will tell him that he is going to blow his head off. He then
makes his famous quote: "are you feeling lucky, Punk!". Then it returns to
the startup screen. Try to go for the special ending. If you watch the movies,
you can really get a feel for this game. The end.
