If I catch you stealing my work I will get Conan to go over to your
place and chop you into bite sized bits, this is my original work and
I ask you not to steal it, thank you.

Conan: The Mysteries of Time (C)1990 Mindscape

INTRODUCTION
=======================================================================
Conan the Barbarian has always been a franchise just about as mighty
as Conan himself. He had books, movies and even his own animated series
made for him and eventually, this hellspawn of a game.

Why write a FAQ on Conan?

Well, this game was an utterly horrible hunk of garbage. But the
biggest problem with it is how easily you can get lost if you don't
know what your doing. One day I spent 2 hours dying continuously going
back to the Cerberus and jump kicking him. This FAQ is the help people
who are lost.

Is this game worth buying?

God no! Actually if you ever come across this game I suggest buying it
JUST to send it to the moon.

CONTROLS
=======================================================================
Here is a simple list of the controls you will need to know in order
to play Conan.

A = Chop
B = Stab
Up = Jump
Down = Leap
A+Down = Duck
A+Up = Jump Kick
Pause = Menu
Select = No use

Sound simple? It's not really, it's actually really, REALLY HARD!

LEVEL 1: HELL
=======================================================================
Enemies

Skeleton - Basically he walks around and stabs you with his sword, he
continuously respawns and takes upwards to 8 hits to kill.
Items Dropped: Sword

Imp - Little flying green monkey thing, this guy will fly towards you
and attack you, there is really no way to dodge him.
Items Dropped: Fireball, Health Orb

Satan - Satan Appears after you cut the skeleton off the wall, he will
fly around and shoot fireballs from his pitchfork, after you kill him
be sure to take his pitchfork when he drops it.
Items Dropped: Pitchfork

Cerberus - Cerberus waits at the end of the stage and shoots fireballs
from his mouth and tail, he can only be killed by the pitchfork.
Items Dropped: Nothing

Walkthrough

When you start the stage you will be at the top row of platforms, jump
to the other platform on the top row and fight about 3 skeletons until
one of them drops the sword. After you take the sword it may help you
to kill a few imps with it a get the fireball attack. Now that you have
the fireball and the sword go right until you see a skeleton chained to
a wall. Equip the sword now and cut the skeleton off the wall and fall
where it lands, equip your fireball and use it to kill Satan. After
defeating Satan he will drop his pitchfork, go over to it and duck on
it to pick it up. You now have the pitchfork, so go back up to the top
row of platforms and go right until you reach the Cerberus. This guy
is probably the best drawn character aside from the skeleton dragon in
the entire game. Equip the pitchfork and simply throw it at him and he
will disappear in a puff of smoke. Very craptacular. Now that you have
killed the Cerberus go right until you reach the end, however if you
feel it is necessary you can go right until the two rocks form a small
gap with a visible platform underneath, if you go down there Satan will
return and you can once again kill him and steal his pitchfork.

LEVEL 2: THE DESERT
=======================================================================
Enemies

Imp - The same Green Monkey from stage one who you cannot avoid.
Items Dropped: Fireball, Health Orb

Centurion - A Roman soldier who will charge at you with his sword,
unlike the skeletons in stage 1 this guy goes down in 1 hit.
Items Dropped: Nothing

Mirage - A mirage of a beautiful woman, if you pass her she will turn
to a giant snake and kill you automatically
Items Dopped: Nothing

Walkthrough

This stage isn't exactly rocket science. If you get lost in this level
though I won't blame you because Mindscape found some way to make a
level that's just walking from left to right extremely hard to figure
out. Walk right and kill Roman Soldiers until you meet with a beautiful
woman calling you over. At this point you must go over and hack at her
with your sword about 20 times until she stops calling you, then pass
her. If you do not kill her first she will turn to a snake which faces
away from you when you pass her and you will automatically die no
matter how far away you are. After defeating her go right until you
meet a Centurion statue in the background, if you want you can cut it
down and get the mirror which will be useful in the next stage, keep
going right until you are finished and that's it.

LEVEL 3: MEDUSA'S DOMAIN
=======================================================================
Enemies

Imp - Once again you fight this asspain of an enemy, same as usual.
Items Dropped: Fireball, Health Orb

Medusa - She stands in one spot and fires lasers from her eyes, she
takes 1 shot with the sword and her lasers can be deflected with the
mirror you got in the last stage.
Items Dropped: Medusa's Head

Hydra - The best drawn enemy in the game, and actually surprisingly
well drawn at that. It appears as a skeletal dragon with 3 heads who
breaths fire. Defeat each head individually and he'll die. Medusa's
Head also makes matters easier.
Items Dropped: Nothing

Walkthrough

This level is much like the first expect instead of floating rock
islands we have platforms floating in blackness that looks like space.
Jump along the platforms and try to kill the imps if they attack you.
At the 5th or so platform you will begin to see Medusa. Equip your
mirror and approach her, if she faces you hold A cause she'll fire a
laser that kills you in 1 shot. The mirror will deflect the laser. Now
when you reach her equip the sword as quickly as possible and just
give her 1 hit and her head will fall off. You can pick her head and
use it. After jumping across several other platforms, you will come
across a top and bottom row of platforms, take the bottom row where the
Hydra is and use Medusa's head on it. This is will do a number or maybe
kill it depending on how skilled you are, now equip your fireballs or
sword and attack while it's mouth is open and ready to spit a fireball.
Repeat this until all 3 heads are dead and then go past him and then
you are finished the level.

LEVEL 4: THE VIKING SHIP
=======================================================================
Enemies

Viking - He acts similarly to the Centurion, he charges at you with
his sword.
Dropped Items: Nothing

Crow - The "boss" of the level. Just a single black sprite who is hard
to notice that flies over your head and causes a lightning bolt to
kill you instantly. Simply chop him out of the sky.
Dropped Items: Nothing

Walkthrough

This is the shortest level in the game, not only is it only about 2
screens long, but it also plays the title music. If you do not have a
seizure from the continuous flashing in the background, than most
likely you will get pissed off when you get struck by lightning 50
plus times in a row. This happens because a crow flies over your head
and causes a lightning bolt to hit you in the ass, so when you see the
completely black sprite flaying towards you chop like a madman until
it is dead. Now your onto act 5.

LEVEL 5: THE FOREST
=======================================================================
Enemies

Giant - A big, tough giant who walks up to you and punches your lights
out, use daggers against him to kill him quickly.
Dropped Items: Red Health Orb

Goblin - In replacement of the Imp present in the first three levels
we now have a type of blue goblin who hops up to you and throws knives,
if you kill him you will get his Dagger which is used to kill giants
and the Dragon.
Dropped Items: Dagger

Will o' the Wisp - These enemies do not actually hurt you but are a
pain the ass nonetheless. They drag you along the map and drop you as
another one of it's buddies do the same thing. They can only be killed
by the torch.
Dropped Items: Nothing

Dragon - Similar to the Cerberus in stage one this green monster stands
in one spot and breaths fireballs. To kill him you must use the dagger
which you get off the blue goblins.
Dropped Items: Nothing

Walkthrough

This is similar to stage 2, just walk from left to right cutting up
everything you come by. Eventually you will come across a witch being
burned at the stake. She does not actually do anything so I can only
assume she's there as a decoration, or perhaps they added her as a
reason for why a torch is lying nearby. The torch is a weapon you will
need for later in the level, but unfortunately it's hard to get a hold
of since wisps are continuously pulling you away from it, if you get
your hands on the weapon use it to kill the wisps and then continue on
your trek to go right. You will later meet with a dragon who stands
there breathing fire. Use the dagger on him and he'll die, allowing you
to move along and finish the stage.

LEVEL 6: THE AERO CASTLE
=======================================================================
Enemies

Thunder Warrior - A guy who looks like he's a mix between a samurai and
a knight, he is the most imaginative enemy (excluding the bosses) in
the game. He magically appears out of nowhere and fires lightning bolts
in 6 directions and then goes away.
Dropped Items: Nothing

Whelp - Another replacement for the imp. This guy looks like a baby
dragon so I decided to call him the Whelp. He will charge at you and
breath fire or fly around like the imp does, he also drops the fabled
Brown Healing Orb when he dies which restores your health to 100%.
Dropped Items: Brown Health Orb

Castle Guard - He comes in and out of the castle throwing a boomerang
at you. He seems to be extremely hard to kill since each time he goes
in the castle his life restores. Just avoid this guy.
Dropped Items: Nothing

Walkthrough

After alot I've trouble I've FINALLY figuered it out. What you what to
do here is simply kill the castle guards. You jump from platform to
platform until you reach the side of the castle where the guard is
going in and out of the castle. The first one is extremely hard, if you
have the pitchfork from level 1 this will be easier. If you have the
pitchfork simply throw it at one of them, if not you must continue a
tedious pattern of hitting his as he goes in and out until he is dead,
if your lucky one of the thunder guys will kill one of them for you.
When the one on the top is dead the gate will remain open, jump in and
your done the level.

LEVEL 7: THE PYRAMID
=======================================================================
Enemies

Mummy - What's a pyramid without a Mummy? Well, this guy acts similar
to the skeleton but he's stronger and faster. He appears out of the
doors and a few hits kill him, he also drops a weapon I call the Eye
of Ra.
Dropped Items: Eye of Ra

Anubis - This guy is tough, at first he simply gives you a bow, and
later he'll start shooting lasers at you like a madman, defeat him with
the Eye of Ra when the time comes.
Dropped Items: Holy Cross

Walkthrough

This is by far the most complex and intricate level in the game, first
you must go right, defeat the mummy who pops out of the door. After
that you will come across two paths, first go up, break the pot in the
far corner and get an urn. After that take the down coarse, go left,
beat up some more mummies and break 3 more pots and collect the urns
within, you can also defeat some more mummies until one of them drops
the Eye of Ra, which will help later. Now go back up and head right,
do not fall in any of the pits afterward, when you reach the end of
the hall you'll see a dog thing I called Anubis. Now that you have all
4 urns he will attack you by continuously firing eye lasers at you, if
you have the Eye of Ra equipped you must fire back until he dies, he
will drop the Holy Cross which will allow you to jump super high. Jump
up two platforms nearby and enter the door, your done.

LEVEL 8: THE FINAL BATTLE
=======================================================================
Enemies

The Pharaoh - The Pharaoh attacks by shooting lasers at his eyes, use
your Axe to take him and as well as destroy the lasers
Dropped Items: Nothing

Walkthrough

This is the final battle of the game, here's what you do... First of
all go to the part at the center of the room where there are 4 small
platforms next to some urns. You must now place each of the urn items
accordingly... On the Top left platform place the 3rd urn. On the
bottom left platform place the 4th urn. On the top right platform place
the 2nd urn, on the bottom right platform place the 1st urn. At this
point the Axe should fall from the sky and land in front of you, pick
it up, equip it and go right where you will face off with the Pharaoh.
Like all bosses in this game he stands in one spot, just keep hitting
that attack button and you will eventually get him, once he's dead you
are ready to see the ending...

THE END
=======================================================================
After you beat the Pharaoh you will be treated with the worst ending
ever made. In a blue screen it simply says "Conan the King" as it shows
a picture of Conan holding his axe as the title/level4/final battle
theme plays. It's amazing isn't it? Not only did you get suckered into
thinking that for some reason, by some twist of fate there would be a
good reason why Conan is running around like an idiot. But instead all
you get is a blue screen with "Conan the King" written on it. If you
beat this game without the cheap save/load trick I used, I'm pretty
sure you have to be the best video gamer in the universe.
