//// I. Introduction \\\\\\
--------------------------------------------------------
Clu Clu Land is a game that was published by Nintendo and released for
the NES in 1984. It is a very fun action game that can be difficult to
master. That is what this FAQ is for. It is meant to help people who
are stuck in Clu Clu Land.

//// II. Version History \\\\\\
--------------------------------------------------------
Version 4.5 (?? KB) 11/5/02
Did the final map for Level 5. THE LAST UPDATE!
Version 4.5 (?? KB) 10/21/02
I'm not sure why this was given a half circle. I added a little bit to
some of the sections and this SHOULD be a full circle now.
Version 4.0 (19 KB) 10/20/02
I finally completed this FAQ. All the levels are in including the bonus
level. Any updates from now on will all be minor updates. (I also
changed my contributor name to Alexander Slutsker.)
Version 3.5 (16 KB) 10/15/02
Added "/Walkthrough" to the FAQ itself (even though it had
"/Walkthrough" on GameFAQs since Version 2.0) Added to the points and
General Strategies (Chris Ingersoll reminded me of a bunch.) Expect
more levels in Version 4.0.
Version 3.0 (14 KB) 10/9/02
Proofread the entire FAQ and fixed a bunch of errors. Added a few
controls.
Version 2.5 (14 KB) 10/8/02
Added a few more "Point Values." Added two more levels. Changed Version
History format. (This one is much better.)
Version 2.0 (11 KB) 10/7/02
Major Update. Changed "Strategies to "General strategies" and added
Sections VI and VII. (9 Sections)
Version 1.5 (7 KB) 10/5/02
Updated Legal Info. Fixed a few spelling errors. Went into more detail
on some sections. (7 Sections)
Version 1.0 (7 KB) 10/5/02
Started FAQ. (7 Sections)

//// III. How to Get Clu Clu Land \\\\\\
--------------------------------------------------------
It is possible to play Clu Clu Land without an NES (I'm not talking
about Emulators.) This is made possible with the Gamecube and GBA.
1. Get an NES. Buy Clu Clu Land
You can get an NES at Funcoland and the game is probably there too. If
you shop around, you'll find it. It isn't THAT rare.
2. On the Gamecube, With Animal Crossing.
If you buy Animal Crossing, you will get a memory card. This memory
card will have two of the eight "common" NES games. If one of them is
not Clu Clu Land, there are many ways to get Clu Clu Land. You can
trade for it. (Check Animal Crossing's Trading FAQ to see how that
works.) You can also try to get it in the raffle or buy it at Crazy
Redds. After that, drop the game in your house and begin playing it!
--------------------------------------------------------
//// IV. Controls \\\\\\
--------------------------------------------------------
I split this into two sections. One is for the NES/Gameboy Advance and
the other is for the Gamecube.
Both
< Move Left
> Move Right
V Move Down
n Move Up
Those symbols might be pretty bad, but you get the point. One thing
that is pretty difficult is turning.

[ ]
[ ]
[ A ]
D>>0>>>C>>>
[ B ]
[ ]
The O represents you. The ">"'s represent the direction you are moving
in. From here, you can got to A and B, by pressing up/down. You will go
to C if you do nothing. You can NOT go to D from here. But there still
is a way...

If you keep going and hit C you will magically turn around! Any time
you hit a wall you turn and the direction you were coming from. This is
what happens.

These are the basics of the controls.
NES
A - Shoot bar
Start - Pause/Select
That's about it. I'll get into shooting during the Strategy section.
Gamecube
A - Shoot bar
B - Shoot bar
Start - Pause/Select
Y - Pause
Z + R + L - Exit the game

//// V. General Strategies \\\\\\
--------------------------------------------------------
All the General Strategies refer to Level 1. Please check Section VI
for Level by Level Strategies.
This is what the field looks like.

Note: There are less dots in the real game.
You start the game at B. See A? The enemies come out of A. If you go
into A you die. There are two enemies on the first level. Here they
are!

The enemies will come out and start wandering about the stage. (The
enemies are "C.") What do you use to stop them. Coins, obviously! If
you ride around the stage you will find coins. All you have to do is
ride through an area like D. (In between two dots.) They are located
around the perimeter and they change every time you play. Here is an
example of how it can look.

You can move through the coins but the enemies can't! Once you get all
of them, you win the level!
You can also find fruit in the game. Fruit is very important, as it
gives you points. Another thing you can do is SHOOTING! When you shoot,
a bar comes out and moves forward. (You shoot with A as mentioned in
the controls section.) This bar can immobilize an enemy. It is very
useful. When an enemy is immobilized, you can run it into a wall and
get points. Shooting is a very important technique you will have to use
regularly.
Another thing to remember, is that you start out with only 5 lives. If
you hit an enemy you will go back to B (check the first two diagrams)
and have to start over. You will also lose one life. If you lose all
your lives you will get a Game Over. Use your lives carefully! You will
also be timed, but that really is not a problem.
Sometimes, instead of finding a coin you will find a trampoline.

[ . . . . . . . . . . . . ]
[ ]
[ . . . . . . . . . . . . ]
l = trampoline
Basically, what will happen is you will hit it and be propelled in the
other direction. What is even worse is... THE TRAP
The trap is very bad and will kill you.

If you go between the two trampolines and turn you will be trapped and
have to wait until you die. (It is so sad, isn't it.)

//// VI. Level by Level Strategies \\\\\\
--------------------------------------------------------
This section covers who to go about beating each individual level. This
is the most important part of the FAQ.
A = Portal for enemies
B = Starting Point
C = Enemies
D = 2 Player Start
E = Transport to other E
F = Transport to other F
-- = Permanent trampoline
Level 1 -
This level is the same level covered in the "General Strategies"
section.

the coin pattern.

This level gets a little harder. Everyone speeds up and the coin
patterns get more complex. They are no longer 100% in-tact coin
patterns. However, it is not THAT hard. I am sure you can do it.

Everyone starts moving faster, but not THAT much. The basic level
structure has changed, but this is NOT that hard. You should be pretty
good at this point and nothing really hard happens until...

The E's and F's you see are not mistakes. If you go through an E/F you
appear at the other E/F. This makes the it impossible to get stuck in a
corner. (Not that that happens a lot.) The level design changes quite a
bit this time, but it isn't THAT astonishing. However, everything is
kicked up a notch this time around. The enemies are faster, you go
faster, coin patterns are harder, and other similar things. Good luck!

Level 5 basically takes everything to the max. You go SUPER fast. The
enemies are plentiful and the speed everything moves is
incomprehensible. This level will always be known for being the one
before the bonus level and it really is quite difficult. Good Luck!

There are no enemies for this level. There are special diamond things
everywhere in the area. The object is to merely get as many of these as
you can before time runs out. (You have 200 time units.) This level is
merely for points and to give you a break before you get back to work
AFTER THE BONUS LEVEL
//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\
After the Bonus level, you go back to Level 1, but the enemies are
faster and tougher. The game never end, it just gets harder and harder.
All I can really say is: Good Luck. Follow all the strategies in this
FAQ and you will have a much easier time going on.
