01.)                    INTRODUCTION                                 G0100

Welcome to 'Be-Bop High School: Koukousei Gokuraku Densetsu' for the NES,
released by Data East in 1988.

This guide is a little rough in that it might still be confusing at places. It
has taken me over a year (with breaks of course) to figure out some parts and
by now I am just glad to deliver a complete walkthrough. If you find any parts
are wrong then I will be glad to update it.

02.)                    BASICS                                       G0200
===============================================================================

The aim of the game is to solve the game before the 6th day. If you take longer
then you will see a bad ending as some events won't happen.

Daily you should go pray at the Shrine to raise your fortune with (かう). The
higher your fortune the more likely you will win any fight you enter, and
sometimes you must have a higher fortune to progress in the game.

Junko (ジュンコ) is the girl you want to date. You will find her at the
beginning of the game and always run into you in locations where you are
currently "working" nearby. I believe you have to speak to her throughout the
game and go on dates with her or else you can't win the game later.

Fighting is possible with random people; however, this wastes time and could
cost you fortune. Generally you want to avoid all random encounters by simply
walking around them. If you happen to still run into them then simply exit the
conversation. Some fights are scripted and some can only be won if you have
done the correct story path leading up to this point.

The game is rather tough and it is very, very easy to make a mistake. In fact,
I highly suggest you play on an emulator and use savestates to play through or
else you will find yourself restarting often. I think some events are random.

03.)                    WALKTHROUGH                                  G0300

Day 1:
``````
Start out by going to the left and running into the girl above the two guys. In
general you always want to avoid these random encounters but you can quickly
exit the conversation if you run into a guy by mistake.
おちゃする.
This makes a date with Junko at the coffeeshop.

Go north and right to find a Shrine.
Use かう Fortune should have improved to "バリきち", if not you have to start
again.

At the top right corner of the Tea House building is now a guy if you have the
right fortune "バリきち ".
ユウジ -> きく (this opens the tea house)

At the Tea House: ごまする, きく

Main Building at the East:
しらべる, とる and you get a banner.

Warehouse: (the entrance is slightly north of the main building)
つかう, のぼる, のぼる, のぼる, のぼる.
You are on the roof now.
しらべる, おりる to descend a level.
いどうする, のぼる, しらべる, はりこませる.
The night goes by...


Day 2:
``````
When the new day dawns,
おりる, いどうする, おりる, おりる, おりる, いどうする
to get back outside.
Go to the phone booth in the southeast to call (つかう, おどす) the police and
remove the patrol at the north end of the compound.

Use the shring as before (かう) and your fortune should have improved to
"バリきち" again.

Go north of DECO game center (that is in the new area to the north):
おどす, きく
Guy sitting on grass area northeast, なぐる, you should beat him on the first
attempt to keep fortune up. きく and he will be gone after the conversation.
Inside Pachinko Parlor (on West side, 777 on the sign):
ごまする, つかう
You win.

Outside Pachinko Parlor, talk to the guy just sitting in the nearby corner
わたす       to exchange info for the ball you won.

Enter the Underground Area (it is kind of like a mall) and find the woman in
the northwest.
おちゃする and you will once automatically go to the Coffee Shop.
ごまする

After that, find Junko north of the Coffee Shop. Use the fourth option twice
and also automatically end up inside the Coffee Shop. Use the 4th option once
again here.

Next location is the top right corner of Campus Tea House building, the same
guy as before.
きく
Enter the DECO game center you must have noticed before. Call the guy ( さけぶ)
and fight him ( なぐる) until you win, you should be getting this on the first
try.
きく gives you some information.

Find the man patrolling at the Subway Station at the east side.

Enter the Subway Station, かう, のる moves to Joutou High School.

Find the main Joutou High School Building, it is similar to the one at yours.

Your next destination is the Parking Lot in the south, the entrance is at the
southeast and you have to loop around to get there. Find the corner to
transition scene.

The night goes by...


Day 3:
``````
On the third day, approach the guy north of the parking lot (you have to loop
around the east side as before).
かくれあるく to get disguises. Follow him to the Parking Lot.

Joutou High School Building:
おどす

Time to go back to your home. Subway Station:
かう, のる

Wait for night (first it will be dusk, then night) and enter the dorm next to
Shrine.
ねる
and the day is over already.


Day 4:
``````
First think you want to raise your fortune again, then return to the Subway
Station (かう, のる). At the Joutou High School Playground in the northeast,
おどす the guy in the back.

At Joutou High School Northwest you will meet a crazy guy. He is vital to your
game progress.

Back through the Subway Station (かう, のる), descend into the Underground Area
and go to the Liquor Shop (should be easy to find). Talk to the  woman to buy
the item (かう ) and return to the subway (かう, のる) and back to the guy in
the northwest.
わたす opens up a new path.

Walk south of new area and you will see a car pull out, be careful not to run
into it! From this position go inside the building on the right and all the way
up to the boxing gym. Remember this place for later.

When on the top floor,

and you are already ready to return to the bottom floor.

South of this building is a guy. Talk to him (とる) so he takes off his shades,
then
しらべる
おどす

Optionally you can now continue on this new path until you run into another guy
blocking the path. To get by you can use the fifth option twice and sneak by
with disguises. There is nothing to do but talk to the cops who do not move
aside, but knowing how to get by this guy is good to know for later too.

Anyhow, return to the Subway Station (かう, のる) an descend into the
Underground Area and find Junko in the north of the fortain. Talk to her about
everything and she will show you a photo.

By now it is probably dusk already, but if not then wait at the coffee shop and
eventually go inside for the date. Use all options to talk to her.

At night, go south from this position to find the crazy guy.
やくそくする
This opens yet another new path. Yet another new path opens up again, and this
leads to the bridge as if coming from the boxing gym. You can talk to the cops
at the south bridge (はなす) although it may be optionally. When ready, return
to the dorm next to the shrine and go to bed ( ねる).


Day 5:

After visiting the Shrine, enter the Tea House.

and we are finally back outside.

Approach the South Bridge and talk to the police chief. わたす will make the
cops leave. It is a long walk to the fountain and then you should find the guy
south of it.

Enter the Fountain Coffeehouse

Campus Main Building:

You receive a camera.

Enter Tea House.
おがみたおす
やくそくする
つかう
Takes a picture with the new camera.

Walk all the way to the Fountain Coffeehouse

Find the Harbor Warehouse and wait for night.
しらべる
なぐる
You should win this fight, else there might be something wrong. I think you
only have one chance to get this right.

That is all for the day, return to the dorm next to Shrine to catch some Zs
(ねる).


Day 6:
``````
This is the last day and it is pretty tight to get everything done. If it turns
night too early then you cannot complete the game. It is vital you do not take
any extra steps than described here.

Visit the Shrine (かう) to boost your fortune one last time.
South of river bank, near the east side & north you should find Junko.

Approach the fountain in the middle.

Go to the Pachinko Parlor.

The scene will have switched to the high school building half-way through. Find
the port at the east side (not the campus, in the southern area where the
fountain is).
ケン
The Pachinko Parlor owner will help you out.
Use the port to move (かう, のる) to Azumatyou Station.

In this area, find the southeast grassy area with a guy on the right part.

おどす
さけぶ
おいかける
This opens up the construction site. Enter it. Fight your way up to the 4th
floor and then drop down just southeast from the barrel, the last guy has some
talking to do.

Finally you need to beat up the guy in the barrel itself.

Return to the port, return to the main area and take the shortcut right after
ther bridge (remember option 5!) until you reach the boxing gym again. By now
it should be dusk.

takes you to the top floor with the boxing gym where a guy is waiting for you.
When trying to fight the champ Hokutojimu (なぐる), you cannot actuallyt win
this fight.
Back outside, find the crazy guy walking around here now,
おがみたおす
いどうする
and return back up the building to the boxing gym (のぼる three times) to the
guy.
つかう
きく
After this, return to the eastern building of the campus and ascend (のぼる) to
the third floor.
Finally,
しらべる
さけぶ
completes the game.
