01.) INTRODUCTION G0100

Welcome to 'Ankoku Shinwa: Yamato Takeru Densetsu' for the NES, an adventure
game released by Tokyo Shoseki in 1989.
The game was only released in Japan but is available to play in English by
applying a translation patch. This walkthrough is based on said translation and
you will have to translate the steps back into Japanese if you want to use it
on the untouched game.

02.) BASICS G0200
===============================================================================
The game controls are super easy. Move the cursor with the D-pad and confirm
actions with the B button. You can revert with the A button.
The display has the action commands in the top left corner, your inventory in
the top right and your journal progress in the center depicted by an open book
icon. These come in halfs and build up as you make progress in a chapter. The
walkthrough does not complete all these icons but you can look around some more
on your own if you feel it is more complete. The lower portion is the current
area and the text.
You can die in this game at several spots. You cannot get stuck as far as I
know and you would only revert to the beginning of the chapter which tend to
be very short. Using the walkthrough you should not have any problems like
that.
The game gives you a password after every chapter. You can input it at the main
menu. Note that the translated password differs from the original Japanese one
and that inputting ' should be on top of the preceding letter. The password is
also case sensitive.

2D fight, keep firing at its body staying in front of its feet to avoid the
fireballs and only slightly move away when you think it is moving too close.
After many, many hits it will finally be defeated. You take around ten hits
before you KO. This is only really challenging fight in the game. Do not be
frustrated if this is too tough; I was shocked as well at first but once you
get by this mutant the rest of the game's bosses are a real breeze. If all else
fails you can always use the password below to skip ahead.

do is find a spot in-between his bouncing mini-minions and duck while
constantly shooting attacks from your sword. He does not even last 10 seconds.

hard. The ideal situation would be the hag moving to one side and you standing
