-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Akuma-kun: Makai no Wana (roughly translated as Mr. Devil: Magic's Traps) is
an action/RPG mix for the Famicom. The battles are in the traditional turn-
based style not in real time. You are Akuma-kun, and aiding you are the 12
Disciples (six of whom you meet along your journey). The premise of the story
is basically to make a connection between the spirits and humans. It is a
relatively short game, but there is a lot of experience grinding to be done
in order for you to survive the later points of the game. Even at the start
of the game, you are forced to grind for several levels to proceed. Aside
from that, it is a charming game with a unique magic system (to cast spells,
you use special tiles bought at shops in town). I would definitely recommend
this game to anyone looking for a fun and not so boring RPG, based on actual
real world locations with a mix of fantasy thrown in.

================
General Gameplay
================

When you are in the game, you will see the current area take up most of the
screen. Towns are presented in a side-view, whereas the overworld and caves
are shown from above, allowing you to move in all four directions. On the
bottom of the screen, you will see Akuma-kun and the pictures of the
currently active Disciple(s), along with their current HP. You will see how
much CP you currently have on the left side, and EXP and Gold on the right.
The maximum level you can attain in the game is Level 32. Your Disciples will
gain levels as you do, so their attacks and HP will be increased as well. You
will also gain more CP, which enables you to summon the Disciples more often
and even manually set their commands to be more effective in battle.

When outside of town, you will randomly encounter monsters to do battle with.
You will not see them coming, so it is important to keep your party in good
shape so you don't end up dying. If Akuma-kun dies in battle, you will return
to Dr. Faust's place in Hell. You can continue the game, but you will lose
half of your Gold.

===========
Menu Screen
===========

Outside of battle or town, press Select and you will see a menu screen. The
top half will show the current overworld map; flag icons represent towns you
have visited. You will have five options to choose from here:

   Call Disciple (なかまをよぶ): Summon Disciple(s) that are not active
                                 currently.

   Magic (まほうじん): Select a magic spell for Akuma-kun to cast.

   Item (アイテム): View your items. There are two categories of items, the
                    Important Items (スクロールちゅう) and battle items
                    (せんとうちゅう).

   Dismiss Disciple (なかまをかえす): Dismiss Disciple(s) that are active
                                      currently.

   Status (ステータス): Check the status of Akuma-kun and the Disciples.

When you check the status, you will see a number of things. For each
character, you will see their name on the left, their abilities/weapons on
the right, and for Disciples, their current mood (designated by a gray square
with a face on it). There are three mood levels: happy, normal, and angry. If
a Disciple is angry, you need to use Solomon's Flute on them (in battle) to
improve the mood, or else they will become belligerent (more on that in the
battle section). You will also see how much CP is required to summon that
Disciple.

On the magic list, you will only be able to see and use spells that are
available outside of battle. Likewise, in battle, you will only see your
attacking and healing spells.

===============
Using Disciples
===============

A major aspect of the game involves using the Disciples provided to you. They
will primarily aid you in battle, but sometimes you will need to use their
abilities outside of battle. When you are not in battle or in a town, you can
press Select to reach the menu screen and summon Disciples. You can only have
up to three Disciples with you at once outside of battle, forming your active
party. If they are active when you enter battle, you won't have to summon
them again, saving valuable CP. At certain points in the walkthrough, you
will need to have certain Disciples in your active party to proceed, so be
ready for this.

For more information on each Disciple and their abilities, check out that
section later in this guide!

=============
Battle Screen
=============

When you enter the battle, the screen will be split in half. The top half
will show the enemies you face, and the bottom half shows Akuma-kun and the
Disciples. The Disciples that form your active party will have their pictures
shown; the others will have their cards flipped over. At the start of a turn
in battle, you will have a menu of commands to choose from:

   Attack (たたかう): Perform a regular Tarot Card attack against the target.
                      The Disciples will attack automatically.

   Item (アイテム): Use the selected battle item.

   Status (ステータス): Check the status of Akuma-kun and the Disciples.

   Magic (まほうじん): Enter the Magic/Disciple submenu.

       Magic Spell (まほうじんまほう): Select a magic spell for Akuma-kun to
                                       cast in battle.

       Call Disciple (なかまをよぶ): Summon Disciple(s) that are not active
                                     in the battle currently.

       Dismiss Disciple (なかまをかえす): Dismiss Disciple(s) that are active
                                          in the battle currently.

   Escape (たいきゃく): Attempt to escape the battle.

   Command (めいれい): Manually adjust commands for the Disciples. The
                       default is Auto (オート) so Disciples attack on their
                       own, but you can choose specific abilities for them
                       to use (costs CP), or tell them to do nothing (たいき)
                       this round.

After you make a selection, the round of battle will begin. Your party will
attack, and so will the enemies, based on each individual unit's speed. Once
everyone has had a turn, the next round will begin and you input your command
again. When all enemies are defeated, you will earn EXP and Gold.

During the course of the battle, your Disciples may ignore your commands or
dismiss themselves. To avoid this situation, it is essential you check their
status and more importantly, their moods. Use the Solomon's Flute item on a
Disciple and it will improve their mood. If they are unhappy, that will cause
them to leave the battle early, not come out when called, or simply not
attack, so beware.

===========
Magic Shops
===========

In each town, usually the second building you encounter, is a magic shop. You
can buy the magic tiles here (you can only hold a maximum of 20 each), or a
special item as a one-time purchase. The magic tiles are important since you
need them to cast magic spells as Akuma-kun. They can be bought at any magic
shop, found in every town. They are the same cost in each town:

   Circle: 10G
   Triangle: 20G
   Square: 30G
   Star: 30G
   Waves: 20G
   Moon: 20G

======
Casino
======

Later in the game, there will be a standalone building that contains a Casino
game. You can pay 50G and you will be able to play a card game of sorts (the
second question asks if you want to see the rules or not). You are initially
given seven cards, face down, and you can flip them over one at a time. The
idea is to uncover two of the same type of card, making a pair. When a pair
is made, those two cards are replaced by two new face down ones. For each
pair you make, you will receive a certain number of points, tallied at the
bottom of the screen.

In addition to the card pairs available, there are two special cards. There
is a green Lucky card; uncover two of them and you will automatically receive
400 points and win the game. There is also a gray End card, which ends the
game instantly, causing you to forfeit your points. At any time, you can
press B to be given the option to Quit or Continue. If you quit, you can cash
in the points you've earned thus far for one of two prizes (either an item or
Gold). If you avoid the End card, the maximum amount of pairs you can make
is 15; the game ends at that point. Also, if you flip over all seven cards
and no pair can be made, the game ends and you lose the points earned.

Below is a listing of the payouts for each pair made (there is no prize for
making just one pair). You can only pick one or the other (Gold OR Prize),
not both!

Pairs    Points    Gold    Prize
-----    ------    ----    -----
2        20        40      Magic Tiles (1 of each)

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

=====
Japan
=====

The game begins in a room where you meet Dr. Faust, who will talk to you for
a moment. You will also be accompanied by six Disciples, leaving you to find
the other six. The Disciples are essential to your success since you summon
them in (and sometimes out of) battle to fight for you, making you many times
more effective than if you fought alone, especially at such an early point in
the game. After Dr. Faust is done talking, you will leave his room.

The area where Dr. Faust's building is, is known as Hell. You can revisit Dr.
Faust in the westmost room; he will give you a password if you want to quit
the game, and let you know how many more experience points you need to gain
the next level. The second room is the magic shop. If you go east, there are
three more rooms. The first door is the Laboratory, where you can learn new
magic spells (by buying magic tiles in the shop). The second door is a
training room of sorts, where you can face relatively weak enemies to gain
experience early. The third room contains the boss, Cerberus, so avoid that
room for now.

If you go all the way west or east on this screen, you will emerge in Japan.
The westmost house is Akuma's house, so you can go inside to fully recover
your HP/CP for free. There is a gray beam in the background; if you press Up
in front of it, you will return to the Hell section. If you go west/east
here, you will end up on the overworld map, but it's safer to stay in town
for now.

Anyway, you will want to fight some enemies in the training room to gain at
least two levels. Make sure you recover often at Akuma's house (leftmost
house in Japan)! Once you get to at least Level 4, buy the Defense Mantle
from the magic shop for 500G, then go into the last room and fight the boss
Cerberus. At Level 4, you will have a relatively easy time getting through
it, as long as you deploy your six Disciples to aid you. Following the
battle, you will talk to Dr. Faust again, and he will open up a cave to the
southwest of town. It should also be noted that the room where you fought
Cerberus becomes a Hospital (where you can pay to recover HP/CP later). Exit
his room, then go out to Japan and onward to the overworld map.

=========
Overworld
=========

Outside, make your way to the southwest and you will see a hole in the ground
that was previously closed off. Enter that cave and head straight through it,
fighting any enemies along the way. When you emerge at the other end, head
west and south to reach a village in China.

=====
China
=====

Here, enter the magic shop (it is the second building) and buy the Fertilizer
for 300G. Rest at the Hospital if you want, then exit the village and fight
enemies in the surrounding area until you reach Level 5. After that, recover
in China, then head south and east of the village to reach a cave.

 *A          *B

In here, go north to the intersection. Head east and open the chest in the
corner to receive one of each type of magic tile. Head north from there and
go downstairs to B1. Go south down there and open the chest at the end to
find the Ultimate Sake. Go back upstairs, then head south and west to that
intersection. This time, go west and north to some more stairs leading down
to B1. Down there, go south and you will find two chests. The first one has
monsters inside (3 ペナンガラン), and the other has Akuma's Corkscrew. Now, go
back upstairs and exit the cave, and return to China.

=====
China
=====

Now that you have the Ultimate Sake in hand, go back to Yoko's house (the
fourth building). Talk to him and he will join you as the seventh Disciple!
With that done, recover your HP/CP at the Hospital, then leave town.

=========
Overworld
=========

Out here, go west and south along the shore line to reach India.

=====
India
=====

Here, enter the magic shop (second building) and buy the Fire Shot for 1000G.
Recover at the Hospital as needed, and enter the very last building in the
village. You will find what appears to be a vase on the ground ahead. Since
you have Akuma's Corkscrew, approach it and it turns out to be Zoujin. Talk
to him and he will join your group as the eighth Disciple! With that settled,
leave India.

=========
Overworld
=========

Out in the world again, go west by following the coast around the mountains.
Farther west, you will see the pyramids. That is Egypt, so go ahead and enter
the next town.

=====
Egypt
=====

In Egypt, head to the magic shop (second building as usual) and buy the Bus
Ticket for 800G. Chances are you won't have this much cash right away, so
fight the surrounding enemies for some well-needed experience and money. Once
you hit Level 7 and have the money, buy the ticket, then go into the third
house and talk to Mephisto Jr. He will not join you just yet, but at least
you know he is here. With the Bus Ticket in tow, leave Egypt.

=========
Overworld
=========

Just to the south of Egypt, you will see a white sign. This is a bus stop,
and there are a few of them in this region of the map. Approach the sign and
Yurugu will appear (assuming you have the Bus Ticket). He will join as the
ninth Disciple at this point. The bus will then arrive and you will get on
board immediately. When you ride the bus, you will ride in the loop until you
choose a stop to get off at. To stop, press B as you approach a white sign
and the bus will drop you off; approach the sign to ride the bus again.

For now, ride the bus to the first stop and enter Kenya to the east.

=====
Kenya
=====

In Kenya, go to the magic shop and buy the Cocoa Seed for 500G. Up ahead is a
single building, which contains the Casino (they will be present in most
towns from this point forward). You can play a card game to accumulate points
which you can use to earn gold, items, or even better Tarot Cards (see the
Casino section for more details). Anyway, the last house has Yonalde inside,
but he will not join you as of yet either. So, leave Kenya with the Cocoa
Seed.

=========
Overworld
=========

From Kenya, head directly to the north and west beyond the bus stop. You will
see a dry patch of land near the shore. Walk into it and you will find the
Hell Dictionary. Return to Kenya and talk to Yonalde, and he will become the
10th Disciple!

Exit Kenya a second time and get onto the bus again. Get off at the next stop
and walk all the way to the southern tip of the African continent. You will
see a dry patch of land on an island. Walk onto it, provided you have both
the Fertilizer and the Cocoa Seed, and Sashiperere will appear and join you
as the 11th Disciple! From here, go north and take the bus to the next stop
in the northwest area of the continent.

When you get off in the northwest desert region, walk to the southwest. You
will see a small pool of water. Approach it from the south and you will take
the Oasis Water. With it, go back onto the bus and return to Egypt (or you
can simply teleport if you have the magic characters necessary).

=====
Egypt
=====

Back here, go into the third building. Talk to Mephisto Jr again and you will
give him the Oasis Water. He will then join you as the 12th Disciple, making
your party complete! Now, rest at the Hospital and leave this area.

=========
Overworld
=========

Outside, ride the bus all the way around to the northwest desert again. Get
off and walk into the cave to the north. Now that you have all 12 Disciples
with you, you will be able to get through to the other side. When you emerge,
go north and west to reach Spain.

=====
Spain
=====

When you arrive here, go to the magic shop and buy the Bomb Shot for 1000G if
you have the cash. If you enter the eastmost house, talk to the man inside to
hear about Satan, who is your next boss to face. After that, play at the
Casino if you like, otherwise you can leave Spain.

=========
Overworld
=========

From Spain, you can simply walk eastward across much of Europe. If you follow
the northern shore, you will see the path turn icy as you head to the north
and west. Ignore that path for now and continue eastward to the next city
along the way, Moscow.

======
Moscow
======

Here, enter the shop and pay 1500G for the Thunder Shot item. In the eastern
house, you will find an old man you can talk to. After that, leave Moscow.

=========
Overworld
=========

From Moscow, you can continue going all the way eastward across northern Asia
until you reach the end. You will find a small village there, so go ahead and
pay it a visit.

================
Farthest Village
================

Here, head into the magic shop as usual. This time, buy the Group Crown for
1200G; it is very helpful since you can recover CP with it in battle! Talk to
another old man in the last house, then rest up and exit the village.

Back outside, make your way back westward towards Moscow. Follow the northern

fighting around outside until you are around Level 9, then go into the cave.

When you arrive in this cave, you can go either left or right. If you go to
the right, you will reach a dead end with a chest containing Medicine, which
will allow you and your party to recover 30HP instantly! From the stairs, go
west and follow the path around to the next intersection. Go east at that
path split and you will find some more steps; go down them to B1.

You will emerge at a 3-way split down here. There is nothing but a dead end
to the north. If you go west, you will reach a chest containing one of each
type of magic tile. Back at the stairs, go southward and you will soon reach
a large enemy in the way. Recover your party's health (make sure Mephisto Jr
is in your active group, as his cutting attacks are strong against this
enemy ahead). When you are set, go forward and face the relatively weak Iru
boss.

After you defeat this boss, open the chest behind it to receive the Ancient
Documents. With them in hand, make your way back out of this cave, fighting
the monsters along the way for added experience.

From this cave, head westward to Moscow and rest at the Hospital there if you
need to. Then, continue to the northwest along the path partially covered in
ice that we ignored before. At the end of that path is a short cave, so go
through it to emerge on the island to the northwest. Once there, go east to a
Stonehenge-type place known as the Plaza.

=====
Plaza
=====

As soon as you arrive, rest at the Hospital (you probably need it by now) and
restock on your magic tiles in the shop. If you are not up to at least Level
10, it is imperative that you spend some time outside fighting until you are.
Once you are up to Level 10, go east in the Plaza and you will find a doorway
guarded by two guards. Before you enter, make sure your active party consists
of your strongest attackers (Mephisto Jr, Kajyu, and Yoko). When you are set,
go into the room and you will have to do battle with Satan.

For the battle, be sure to quickly dispatch all 12 Disciples, even though a
bunch of their attacks may be ineffective. Have Akuma use magic attacks such
as Flare, or recover the party's HP (this is essential every other turn in
order to survive). After Satan's HP is depleted, Hyakume will disappear for a
moment and an even bigger boss will appear. Don't worry about beating it; you
must let it defeat you as it is part of the story, sadly.

=====
Japan
=====

After the battle, you will be back at Dr. Faust's place. After he is done
talking to you, go back outside to the overworld.

=========
Overworld
=========

Out here, you will find that the landscape has undergone a big change as a
result of that battle. The enemies will now be a lot stronger, which is great
since gaining levels will be more time-consuming otherwise. There is also a
cave opening at the northern end of Japan, so go into that simple cave and
emerge at the northern end.

Back on the mainland, you will realize that most of the towns have been
destroyed as a result of that battle. You can still get to Moscow and China,
so go ahead and do that since there are different people in the buildings to
talk to (including Indochina Jones in China, go figure). When you are set to
proceed with the story, go all the way east to the Farthest Village.

================
Farthest Village
================

Here, rest at the Hospital and head to the eastmost building in the village.
You will see a doorway surrounded by two cloaked men. Try to enter it and
they will let you go through. Make your way through the straightforward cave
and you will emerge at the tip of North America.

=========
Overworld
=========

On the new continent, follow the coastline to the south and you will reach a
city. That is San Francisco. It is a good point to rest, and there is an old
man you can talk to in one of the buildings, but that's about it. If you
follow the mountains to the east along what is supposed to be Mexico, you
will see a path leading northward. Follow it along the east coast and you
will come to New York.

In the big city, go to the magic shop and buy the Life Flask for 3000G. Then,
talk to the man in the last building before resting up and heading out again.

From New York, head northward a bit and you will see the landscape break up a
bit more. When you reach the first cave opening, go through it to reach a
small island to the north. Go through the second small cave, and you will
reach the larger island with one more cave on it. This is the Northern Cave,
so go on inside when you are ready.

When you enter, you will find that you can go in three directions. If you go
west and south, there are stairs leading down to level B2. You will find a
chest containing monsters (3 デボラー) and not much else there. Back at the
starting point, you will want to take the southern path. Follow it around to
the steps leading to B1. Once there, go north and west to find a split in the
path. Taking the first southbound path will lead to steps to B2, and a room
with a chest containing 1 of each magic tile.

If you continue all the way west and south on B1, you will reach another set
of stairs. Go down to B2 there, and you will find another chest. Open it to
receive the Crystal. This will enable the Disciple Kajyu to fly! So, make
your way back through the cave exit (you may want to stick around and gain a
few levels while you are here; the monsters yield great amounts of
experience).

=========
Overworld
=========

Back outside, you will want to switch Kajyu into your active party. Then, you
can press B and get the option to fly with him. When flying, you can move to
any location on the overworld map, but you can only land at special green
patches of land. This will allow you to access places on the map you could
not otherwise visit. Before you go elsewhere, head back south and land at New
York. Rest at the city if you want, then walk to the northwest from the city.
You will spot a dry patch of land there. Approach the tree just to the east
of it and you will receive Leshe's Statue.

Now, check your map and fly towards Australia in the southwest. When you get
there, land and walk across to Sydney in the southeast. Before you enter the
city, switch Yuko into your active party of Disciples. Then, enter Sydney.

======
Sydney
======

In Sydney, your first stop should definitely be to the Hospital for resting.
If you don't already have the best Tarot Card for Akuma (by winning it at the
Casino), buy the Supreme Tarot at the magic shop for 4000G. There is a man to
talk to in the eastern building. Since you have Yuko with you, he will be
happy and gives you a present: Rag's Statue. Now, exit the city and fly to a
small island to the northeast, and enter that village.

=============
Beach Village
=============

Here, talk to the villagers and they will all talk about the Moai. If you
speak with the man at the eastmost edge of town, he will give you Aleph's
Statue. You should now have all three of the statues you need to proceed. So,
leave the village.

=========

From the village, check the map and you will see a large island to the south
and west (this is supposed to be Antarctica). Fly there and land on the green
patch, then walk to the tree in the northeast corner. You will receive the
Moai's Tears. From this point, fly directly eastward across the ocean and you
will soon reach Easter Island (if you don't know, it's the island with the
giant Moai/head statue on it). Land there and touch the Moai, and it will
reveal a cave. With that settled, go ahead and enter the cave.

When you first enter this complex cave, you can go in two directions. To the
north is a dead end, so you will want to head westward. Ignore the first path
split and go north at the end. Go east the first chance you get and you will
find some stairs; go down them to B1. There, go north and west to find a
chest containing monsters (1 ゴーレム, 1 ブラウニー). From the steps, if you
go east, north, and east again, you will find stairs leading back up to the
first floor.

For right now, you can ignore those stairs and continue southward. You will
find a chest in the corner containing Medicine, which will recover 30 HP to
your party instantly! Now, go up those stairs you just passed. Back on 1F, go
all the way south and follow the winding path to the very end. At the end,
make your way down the stairs to a new section of B1. Follow the path around
and you will reach an altar of sorts. Approach it and the three statues will
be placed on it. This will cause the room to shake, and an entire island will
emerge from the ocean above.

With that done, your goal here is complete, so make your way back out of this
cave.

=========
Overworld
=========

As soon as you are back outside, you will see that the island you are on has
been fleshed out a bit. At the northwest end is the Beach Village, located on
a much smaller island previously. As for yourself, fly to the east and you
will see a series of caves below at the tip of South America. There is a
green patch for landing just to the north of here, so land and enter the cave
nearby. Go through the straightforward passage to reach the small island at
the continent's tip, and enter the second cave there.

Follow the path to the end and open the chest to find the Hero's Mask. With
it, exit the cave. Fly back to the nearby green patch (you may want to go to
a nearby city like the Ruins to the northeast, and rest at the Hospital
first). Then, walk west and to the north alongside the coast until you reach
a tower structure. Enter it.

===============
Tower of Condor
===============

When you first enter the tower, you will be on the ground level. There are
four sets of stairs, one in each corner. All four sets lead to the second
floor, where you will see blue sections in the floor. If you step on those
tiles, you will fall out of the tower and end up back outside. If you go up
the southwest steps, you will find a chest containing Medicine for recovering
30 HP. The eastern stairs lead to a chest containing one of each magic tile.
Note that these chests will refill each time you exit/reenter the tower.

You will want to go up the northwestern stairs. Follow the narrow path
carefully to avoid falling into a trap, and go up the stairs at the end. You
will end up on the top floor of the tower. There, go forward to the altar and
collect the Solar Mark. You will then go back to Dr. Faust, and a scene will
show the entire Hell area (the starting point of the game) unrooting and
launching into outer space. You will then land on the Moon.

====
Moon
====

When you land here, you will be able to revisit Hell in order to recover,
shop, and visit Dr. Faust if needed. Anyway, on the Moon, there are very few
places to check out. There are plenty of enemies though, so you will want to
spend quite a while gaining levels. From the base, go directly eastward and
you will find a chest containing monsters (2 ゴーレム).

As you go eastward, there will be a path leading to the north if you pay
attention (consider the craters as being mountains; you have to walk around
them). Go back to Hell to rest, then go east and take that northbound path
this time at the split. Towards the end of the path, you will find a chest
with some more Medicine (recovers 30 HP). Take it, then go to the altar up
ahead. You will place the Solar Mark on the altar, then the Hell area will
return back to Earth.

You will land right in that newly formed land mass from before, so that as
soon as you exit the Hell area, you will be in the Easter Island Cave again.
Rest up as needed, then go into the cave once more.

==================
Easter Island Cave
==================

Back in this cave, the layout is exactly the same as it was previously. So,
make your way through to the altar room again (quick directions from the
start: all the way west, north all the way, east, south to stairs, then go
around to the altar). Once you get to the altar, you will now see that the
door in the back of the room is open.

Before you enter, make sure that you are fully healed (use magic) and that
your three best Disciples are in your active party and in a good mood (I
personally used Mephisto Jr, Yurugu, and Yoko). I also recommend that you
are at least up to Level 20 before going forward. The monsters here give
really good experience (the best you can get in the game), so if you stay by
the exit stairs leading back to Hell, you can go back and regroup safely).

When you are finally ready to continue, go through the door and you will
begin the final battle against Emperor Tougaku (とうがくたいてい). He has no
weaknesses, and hits your party with Mi-Cut a LOT for 50+ HP apiece, so be
ready to heal a lot.

When you defeat it, you will be asked a question. This is a trick, so be VERY
careful. Answer NO (いいえ) and you will fight Zombie Tougaku (ゾンビとうがく)
for the true final battle. If you select Yes, you will have to fight the
first version all over again! Zombie Tougaku follows the same attack pattern
as the first version, so summon all of your Disciples and beat it down again,
recovering every round or so with Akuma's magic.

Once the battle is over, watch the final scene with Dr. Faust, and the game
will be complete. Congratulations on completing Akuma-kun: Makai no Wana!

NOTE: For each boss battle, there really isn't a whole lot of strategy in
     dealing with each one. It is essential, however, that you are as close
     to the boss's level as possible, or else your attacks may be too weak
     or simply ineffective. It is essential to use the boss's weakness to

-=  8. Magic Spells -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

NOTE: In Hell, there is a Laboratory where you can input a new magic spell to
     learn or view the dictionary, where all spells learned up to that point
     are listed. This list is based on the dictionary pages. For spells with
     no "Level Learned" value, the only way you learn those spells is by
     manually inputting the tiles at the Laboratory and learning them that
     way. In the game, some people you talk to will show parts of these
     spells, so without this guide, you would have to do trial and error at
     the Laboratory to figure them out. Anyway, once you learn a spell and
     it is listed in the dictionary, you can use it at any time, as long as
     you have enough of the required magic tiles with you.
