INTRODUCTION
===============================================================================
Well hey there. My name is Matt Ludwig, and I would like to welcome you to my
first NES guide, espcially if this is the first guide of mine you have been
too! Now, I am actually doing this FAQ for a NES FAQ Completion project and
noticed this game left un-faqed and the name looked like something I would be
interested in. So I downloaded it and started playing. Now when I played, it
kind of discouraged me, because the graphics were not that great and I did not
like the 2D forward scrolling plane games, because they are extremely hard to
write guides for I think, unlike RPGs and 2D side scrollers. It is always those
2D forward scrolling airplane games that really get you. Despite the bad
graphics and gameplay, you might want to play this game, so lets get this
started.
===============================================================================
CONTROLS
===============================================================================
Now the controls in this game are quite simple. There are only 2 push buttons
to use (oh wait, there always is *smacks head*, oh well) and then the
directional pads. Now so lets state them.
A: Fires your main guns, which when you start out are machine guns which are
clearly your main use of artillery.
B: Your missles and your upgraded missles. You can use these when a black box
goes around an enemy.
Up: This button will make your plane go down.
Down: This button will make your plane pull up.
Left: This button will make your plane turn left (Double tap and it will spin)
Right: This button will make your plane turn right (Double tap and it will
spin)
Start: This button does nothing....
Select: Select actually takes the part of start believe it or not, this will
pause the game which will show your score and hi-score.
===============================================================================
HOW THIS GAME WORKS
===============================================================================
Now as I mentioned this game is a 2D forward scroller. Now If you dont know
what that means, you should not be playing this game (Just messing geez), but
if you don't, I will explain. A 2D forward scroller (I don't even know if that
is the techinical name for it, but heck that is what I call it) is a game where
you are moving forward but staying in the same spot. You can move left to right
instead of like a 2D Side Scroller where you move all over the place.
Now you are always moving forward (While staying in the same spot) and planes
come from straight ahead and from behind you to attack. Now when they pass, you
shoot them with your machine guns to destroy them. You can also missle attack
(only when a box goes around someone) and you will mostly use this when there
are enemies in front of you.
Now enemies that pass you do not attack, they just are free targets to kill.
The ones you must watch out for are the ones ahead that fire missles at you
which are actually fairly easy to dodge. You could go through this whole game
without getting hit. You just move around, or preferrably roll, when a missle
is near you and you can easily escape.
Now the point is to get points which you display at the select menu or when you
advance to the next stage, and you can also tell how many planes you have
destroyed. Now, about advancing levels, you just do it. Honestly, that is about
all you can say, you just do it. After you beat so many enemies, the level will
turn another color and it will say STAGE #.
Also, one bullet will destroy your plane, so if you get hit by a missile, your
plane will blow up, but you will continue right where you started but that
plane will have passed. Also, you only have three lives to begin with and no
save points, so once you blow up three times, it is game over.
Now you also have a radar or motion tracker in your top right corner. You will
be the center dot and the line will split the boundries of in front of you or
behind you. The other dots are the planes to show where they are at around you.
Now, onwards unto completing the game.

WALKTHROUGH
===============================================================================
When you turn this lovely game you should see this.
AFTER BURNER
Press Start
So do what it says and press start for gosh sakes.
+---------+
Stage 1
+---------+
You will start out by taking off from the aircraft carrier and then into the
sky. You eventually be over the beautiful blue sea. Now heres where it starts.
You will immdediately be approached by two green planes to your left then two
to your right and then another two to your left. Suddenly six planes will come
out in the same order to your left, just shoot straight in the middle and you
should tackle them all.
You will pass up any planes you have not killed and out from ahead a plan will
come and shoot a missle. Fire one back and dodge his. Then the same pattern
will happen again, two from left, two from right, two from left. Then another
missile launching plane will approach from ahead. Take it down and dodge it's
missle.
Yet again, that one pattern will come along. Two from left, two from right, two
from left, all green planes. A plane will then approach from ahead coming
straight at you but not firing missiles. Then from ahead, four planes will come
beside eachother launching four missiles. You shoot four, and then get to
dodging because you will have to dodge all of them. Now we enter stage 2.
+---------+
Stage 2
+---------+
Two brown planes will approach from the left, and then two to the right, and
then two to the left. These brown planes are faster than the green planes. The
enviroment color has changed too. Four planes will approach you right behind
each other and a zig zag order with only one lauching a missile. So be sure to
dodge that one. Three planes will then approach from ahead, right beside
eachother, all shooting missiles.
Then, three more planes will approach you, two on the top and one downlow, all
shooting missiles, so be ready for that. Two more will come from ahead just
dodging at you but will not shoot, and then two more doing the same. Three will
then come shooting missiles at you, each shooting two, and these are hard to
dodge.
The usualy pattern will come up again, two from the left, two from the right,
and then two from the left, so you know what to do. A set of three will then
approach shooting missiles and then yet another set of three shooting missile,
but you can take these out before they shoot you. You will then go upwards and
do a weapon reload on a bigger plane, and then you are ready for the next
level.
+---------+
Stage 3
+---------+
As you have already probably noticed, the ground is blue and black and the sky
is pitch black. Who cares...lets go. Two planes will approach you shooting
missiles along with a missile right behind you. When this missile gets close,
start spinning to dodge it. Then a set of two planes will fly by you and then
another set shooting missiles when they are close.
