--Purpose of this FAQ/Guide--
The purpose of this FAQ/Guide is to show you what Rugal really is capable of.
He might have some advantages over the playable characters,and therefore is
considered very cheap.If you play cheap against the computer nobody will care,
but do not play cheap against human players or you might get into a real
one-on-one.

--How do I use him?--
Well,he is only playable on the home version of the game.To select him place
the cursor on Yashiro and press left or place the cursor on Vice and press up
or place the cursor on Goro Daimon and press down.Most likely,you will not be
able to select him in your Arcades since he has a lot of advantages over the
playable characters in King of Fighter 2002.

SCORPION BLOW When close to oponent, b/f + D

DOUBLE TOMAHAWK f + B
Comments:This move is an axe kick
that does two hits.
==============Special Moves=====================================
REPPUKEN QCF + A/C
Comments:This move is a ground
projectile.The A version travels
slower where the C version travels faster.
GOD PRESS HCB + A/C
Comments:The C version of the move
reaches the whole screen.Try to avoid
using this move because it has a nasty
recovery after it,and there are better
moves to choose from him.
KAISER WAVE f,HCF + A/C
Comments:This projectile move is very
quick.It also negates every other
projectile in the game.Use this move a
lot to get a quick and easy win.
DIVINE ARROW Hold A/C for one second during Kaiser Wave,
then release
Comments:This move travels
very quick just like the Kaiser Wave
and looks similar to Igniz's
projectile in King of Fighters 2001.
It also will negate projectiles
GRAVITY SMASH Hold A/C for two to three seconds during Kaiser Wave
Comments:You don't
necessarly need to relase A/C
because he will fire the projetcile
out by himself.This move travels
very fast and is unblockable.
It also negates projectiles just
like the Kaiser Wave and Divine
Arrow.
GENOCIDE CUTTER DP + B/D
Comments:This is the move you probably
all know.It's just excellent against
anti-air.It does great damage and has
priority over alomost all the moves.
DARK BARRIER QCF + B/D
Comments:This move reflects projectiles.
Meaning,when people fireball at you,this
move will reflect the projectile back at
the opponent causing damage to him/her.
BEADS DESTRUCTION HCB + B/D
Comments:Two kicks that hit you,and the
third kick,the last one,that juggles you;
but if you decide to perform this move
with the D version, you won't be able to
start any jugglers because he juggles the
opponent by himself with a short punch.
This makes it impossible for you start
any jugglers.See combo section.
===========Desperation Moves====================================
GIGANTIC PRESSURE QCF,HCB + A/C
Comments:It's basically a God Press
that does more damage.
DESTRUCTION OMEGA QCF,QCF + B/D
Comments:You must perform this move
next to the opponent in order to
connect.If you connect and he grabs the
opponent,he will do a 8 hit combo ending
it with the B version of the Genocide
Cutter.The damage is better than from
Gigantic Pressure.
==========Super Desperation Moves===============================
GIGANTIC PRESSURE QCF,HCB + AC
Comments:He performs two Gigantic
Pressures that do good damage.
DESTRUCTION OMEGA QCF,QCF + BD
Comments:Just like the Desperation
Move,you need to be close to the opponent
to connect.This move does even more damage
than Goro's HSDM.It does 15 hits ending it
with the B version of the Genocide Cutter.
======Hidden Super Desperation Move=============================
KAISER PHOENIX HCF,HCF + AC
Comments:He shoots out the three
versions of the Kaiser Waves randomly.
When he shoots out the Gravity Smash
it's unblockable.The bad thing about this
move is that all of the Kaiser Waves knock
the oponent down,so at least two to three
of them will miss,and some of them will
be blocked.But sometimes,some of the
Kaiser Waves will juggle your opponent
for three to four hits.

1.Beads Destruction --> God Press
Comments:Very easy to do,especially in the corner.
Damage:35%-40%
2.St.C --> Genocide Cutter C Vers.
Comments:Looks very easy,doesn't it?Stand close to opponent.
Damage:45%-50%
3.Cr.B --> St.B --> Double Tomahawk(First Hit) --> Genocide Cutter D Vers.
Comments:This is a combo you should do when you are in the crouching
position.You can perform it anywhere but I recommend in the corner.
Damage:55%-60%
4.Beads Destruction --> Gigantic Pressure(DM)
Comments:Very easy to perfrom.
Damage:60%-65%
5.Beads Destruction --> Gigantic Pressure(SDM)
Before you do the Beads Destruction make sure you activate Max Mode.
Wait a little bit until the opponent gets down from the Beads
Destruction so it connects.This combo,I don't really recommend you
do because the Destruction Omega DM does even more damage,and I don't
have to mention the Destruction Omega SDM.
Damage:70%-75%
6.Beads Destruction --> Genocide Cutter B Vers.--> Genocide Cutter D Vers.
Comments:Do not perform the Beads Destruction close to the opponent
because the Genocide Cutters will have difficulties to connect.
Besides that,it's an easy combo.
Damage:70%-75%
7.Beads Destruction --> Destruction Omega(DM)
Comments:When you juggle the opponent with the Beads Destruction
wait a little bit until he/she gets down so the Destruction Omega
connects.This combo is rather a little bit harder than the ones above.
Damage:75%-80%
8.Beads Destruction --> Destruction Omega(SDM)
Comments:Activate Max Mode before you excecute the Beads Destruction.
Then again,make sure you wait a little bit until the opponent gets down
so the Destruction Omega connects.Damage will be very high on this combo.
Damage:90%-95%
9.Reppuken --> Beads Destruction --> Destruction Omega(SDM) (Corner)
Comments:This combo works ONLY in the corner.Activate Max Mode before
you do the Reppuken.The damage will be very high.
Damage:95%-100%
10.St.C --> Beads Destruction --> Destruction Omega(SDM)
Comments:You probably guessed it right.This is obviously a 100% combo.
Activate Max Mode before you do the St.C and stand close for the St.C.
If you mastered all the combos above you won't have troubles with this
one.
Damage:100%
11.Double Tomahawk --> Reppuken --> Cr.A --> Double Tomahawk
--> Reppuken --> Cr.A --> Double Tomahawk --> Reppuken --> Cr.A
--> Double Tomahwak --> Beads Destruction --> Destruction Omega (Corner)
Comments:CANCEL all the moves from the Double Tomahawk ON THE FIRST HIT!
Now I know you're like O_O.Hey,go to Practice Mode and practice it.
Actually,this is a video that I downloaded from a Chinese site,or
was it a Japanese one? Anyway,the link to it is down,so I won't even
bother posting it.
Damage:100%
--General Strategy--
It doesn't take a genius to figure out how to use him.Use the Genocide
Cutter a lot because it does great damage,use all the three versions
of the Kaiser Waves because they travel fast and negate the opponent's
projectiles,and because I wrote this FAQ/Guide,use the combos I listed
above.Now you should be unbeatable.^_^

Q:Is Rugal Bernstein playable in my Arcades?
A:Probably not.Simply because he is too powerful for the playable characters,
and if he was selectable everybody would use him.
Q:About his HSDM,how many Kaiser Waves does he shoot out?
A:12 Kaiser Waves.Sometimes for some silly reasons he stops at 5 Kaiser
Waves.I really don't know the reason,if you know e-mail me.I'll give you
credit in the next update/version.
Q:Could you post the link for the ROM of this game please?
A:No,I can't and I won't.You can e-mail me,but I cannot guarantee you that I
will e-mail you back because there are sometimes too much people asking
me for it.
Q:I'm using WinKawaks,how do I map some of his moves to a key?
A:I will not explain this to you step by step since there's a FAQ for
WinKawaks(Not written by me).I will give you the macros only.
Reppuken - D,DL,L1 or 3
Genocide Cutter - L,D,DL2 or 4
Gigantic Pressure(DM) - D,DL,L,DL,D,DR,R,1 or 3
Gigantic Pressure(SDM) - D,DL,L,DL,D,DR,R,13
Omega Destruction(DM) - D,DL,L,D,DL,L2 or 4
Omega Destruction(SDM) - D,DL,L,D,DL,L24
Kasier Phoenix - R,DR,D,DL,L,R,DR,D,DL,L13
What I mean by this D,DL,L1 or 3 is that you can either leave it like this
D,DL,L1(Reppuken A vers.) or you can change it to D,DL,L3(Reppuken C Vers.).
These macros will probably only work if you are on the left side of the
screen in this game,because if you are on the right the side,the keys are
reversed(D,DL,L1 on the left becomes D,DR,R1 on the right side).WinKawaks
should realize this(In some games that I played it did) but in this game
it doesn't realize it for a strange reason.
--Conclusion--
What to say? Every King of Fighters' boss is overpowered and so is Rugal in
King of Fighters 2002.Use him just to have fun kicking the computer's ass.
