STORY :

Zankurou the Demon, a brutal killing machine has been seen and heard
travelling amongst the villages of ancient Japan, slaughtering and leaving
trails of innocent blood in his wake. One day, amongst the destruction and
death he laid down under his hands, a fallen mother clutched an innocent baby
crying for his lost gift of life. Zankurou heard these cries, and it struck
within him a fear and a knowledge...that he would cease that very day, to
strike down the innocent. For the realization came to him...that it was the
competent and the strong that would be his greatest test...and proudest
defeat...

NEW/OLD CHARACTERS :

New Characters : Shizumaru Hisame, Basara the Executioner, Gaira Caffeine,
Rimururu, and Zankurou Minazuki.

Old Characters : Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Galford, Kyoshiro Senryo, Ukyo
Tachibana, Genjuro Kibagami, Hanzo Hattori, Amakusa Shiro Tokisada
(now playable), and Kuroko (morphs into your character for mirror
match)

GAME OPTIONS :

Character Mode :
All characters have two versions : Slash and Bust. For each version,
there are a different set of moves. Some moves are found in both versions,
and others only in one version. This significantly doubles the amount of
character choices in the game.

Level Select :
You can now choose from three different levels of play : Beginner,
Medium, and Upper Class. In beginner, attacks are less-damaging and there is
auto-blocking. Medium is standard game play. Upper has a fully charged POW
meter at all times and no blocking!

Color Choice :
There are technically four colors for each character (two for Slash,
two for Bust). After you choose Bust or Slash, press A or B to determine the
color (A is default, B is alternate).

Pre-Fight Movement :
Taken from X-men : Children of the Atom, you can now move before the
fight begins.

Hop to attack crouching defenses (can't block crouching).

Grab your opponent, temporarily paralyzing them.
Forward + D - Downwards Attack :
Can't block standing.
Back + D - Upwards Attack :
Can't block crouching.
Down-Forward + D - Foot Sweep
Half Circle Towards - Catch Throw :
Catch your opponents weapon then throw them (can be done with weapon)
Back, Back - Back Dash
Forward Forward - Forward Dash
Hold ABC - POW Charge :
Slowly raises your POW meter
AB at distance - Dodge :
Dodge opponents attack (must be at least two character spaces away)
AB Close - Sidestep :
Step around your opponent (must be right next to opponent)

Items : The Edo Express Delivery Man no longer runs by dropping off items.
Now they just drop or appear out of nowhere. The bombs will drop
your guard if they are blocked. The meat is still given as well.

Genjuro's motto in life, and this whole demon business certainly is no
exception. Though feigning interest in the matter, Genjuro's only goal is to
slay his long-time rival Haohmaru. The demon is one thing, but personal
glory is entirely another. Thus Genjuro's journey to kill Haohmaru
continues...

As Haohmaru continued his everlasting search for new opponents, he
came upon the remains of what was once a flourishing town. There he met a
child to whom he swore vengeance against the demon who crushed his town and
killed his family. Not knowing that the child was actually he who stopped
the demon from its killing spree to begin with, Haohmaru embarked on a new
mission which he felt was the most vital one yet.

religious man at heart, Gaira knew he must stop the heretic from repeating
his crimes.

stay there for one second. Then pass through the characters in the

hold your start button. When the counter reaches exactly three
seconds, press A+B+C. (Note: If you are player 2, the cursor starts
at Shizumaru, so just leave it there for a second, then proceed
through characters as normal.)

ZANKURO MINAZUKI :
The dreaded "demon." The evil Zankuro, from time immortal, has
indiscriminately attacked villages, slaughtering all in his way. Falling
under his mighty blade, victims screamed in terror of the dreaded demon
before drowning in an endless sea of blood. All stood impotent to his evil
deeds. But then...in a distant village, Zankuro failed to kill an infant.
Some insist, perhaps that the evil one could not kill him. The truth remains
unknown. But from then on, Zankuro marked all swordsmen for slaughter.
Years later...twelve samurai and swordsmen begin their own quests.
All seek one goal...the head of the dreaded Zankuro Minazuki.
