INTRODUCTION

The Neo Geo was a strong system. There were a few hits and misses and some
tough games. One of their tougher games was Andro Dunos. I will like to thank
my sister Renea aka Roja Calor for helping me in this game as player 2 and for
co-writing this guide with me.

OPTIONS

Two players can play in this game. If you are playing the home version, we'll
tell you straight that you got your work cut out for you as there are only up
to three continues in the game. Even if you have to use a shitload of quarters,
play the arcade version if you can. You want to have a chance at beating the
game do ya?

There are are 4 weapon types and each type has four sets of weapons. The third
set is always the homing missiles

TIPS AND TRIVIA

This game so reminds us of Gradius in a whole lot of aspects and not only that
there is also a little bit of Air Buster elements in this game.
You get bonus points for every B-bubble you have at the end of each stage.

| Level 1 - The Moon |
O =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- O
Start off by shooting four waves of ships then get a supershot from the next
enemy. Next you'll encounter a swarm of jetfighters, ships coming from behind,
a pod that deploys enemy ships and thrusters. Destroy the swirling jets and a
crablike tank below and now you got ships that look like hummingbirds. Get
through them and brave through sharkships that shoot missiles as well as some
kamikaze ships. See we told you this game was cruel from beginning to end.
One more wave a ships then you start moving down and to the right again.
Watch for sandworms, saucers, and turrets in this area. You have a tough enemy
to face here as it sends out ships from its rear and shoots laser. Survive this
ordeal as the screen scroll down, right, then up. Once back on the surface,
shoot away at the enemies you faced before then when you reach the boss, the
cruelty lightens up

Boss Fight: Revolving Circle
Difficulty: 1
Surprisingly, this boss is easy. It will disengage its surrounding body and
leave just its core which is easy to damage, fire a spray of bullets and it
will reassemble and do a circle around the screen. When it nears death it will
shoot an arch of bullets which are easy to avoid and revolve around the screen
a few more times than usual before disassembling. Keep it up and you win.

| Level 2 - Mechanized Unit |
O =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= O
Shoot everything that moves and watch for kamakazies and enemies that shoot
bullets at you. You'll eventually come across sections of the floors and the
ceilings that rise from the ground. These can be destroyed for points but you
can maneuver around them. Shoot the familiar enemies and be sure that you take
out laser beam emitters because you ship can be destroyed by the beam if the
enemy is not destroyed as you can't avoid it otherwise.
You now come to a section that acts as an elevator. You are now under fire from
the side (turrets) and the top and bottom (mini-cannons). Use a weapon that can
fire up and down diagonally like Type 4 which the lasers can do the job. At the
bottom is a boss similar to one of the last bosses of Air Buster and its not
gonna be pretty.

Midboss Fight: Rolling Gunner
Difficulty: 5
This midboss is tough. The two side guns shoot at you in a cross type pattern
and the main gun will shoot in a 3-way multispray of bullets and the whole
thing will try to trap you between and the way by trying to ram you. Moving
back and forth helps you get through the crossing bullets and try not to back
up into the wall. It's easy to do so, be careful.

Now its a matter of just staying alive as the only real threat is the shifting
surfaces. The boss is not to far away.
------
Boss Fight: Gatling Gunship
Difficulty: 1
The boss is a piece of cake compared to the miniboss. All you have to do is use
your type-4 style and the laser and gatling gun bullets are easy to dodge if
you say near the top or bottom. The real threat is the closing floors and
ceilings which the boss won't try to shoot through. With the way shots, you can
hit this boss from anywhere when the surfaces are down.

| Level 3 - Alien |

This level is so like the last level of Gradius III with the layout. Shoot the
alien eggs as they come at you. You got some kamikaze aliens here as well,
escpially the ones that look like roaches that come from behind too. You also
gotta deal with caterpillars, shrimp, and are those sperm shooting at you?
Now you gotta fend off endless swarms of kamikaze bugs everywhere. Then once
you reach empty space, kill the bugs that are shooting forceballs at you. More
sperm and kamikazies, and multiheads to shoot followed by what looks like
air swimmers before the next boss arrives.

Boss Fight: Triple Tounge
Difficulty: 4
For the first part, this fight is a cinch as you blast the boss while avoiding
its three tounges. It will shoot one at you then stay then shoot another at
your current location, then a third one does the same as the first one retracts
and the other two will retract too one at a time. Shoot its eye while avoiding
the first tounge then avoid the other two and continue shooting as they retract
themselves. Soon the "forehead" will come off and lob pellets at your ship so
its now a cruel fight as you have to avoid the tounges and pellets. Have your
quarters ready. Once it dies, it deatches itself and you beat the stage.

| Level 4 - Cavern |
O =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- O
Its the same ol thing with the other levels. At one point, you shoot a segment
away and the ceiling will collapse. Go on about your business till you reach
a huge enemy ship that shoots lasers from the top and bottom then a 3-way spray
when it opens up. Stay in the middle of it and when it opens, move up or down
slightly. There is also a 1-up here too. Once it dies, do your normal routine
of killing anything that moves. The enemies are starting to shoot lots of
bullets now. At the end is another somewhat easy boss.

Boss Fight: Flamethrower Tank
Difficulty: 2/5
With a combination of Type 2 and 4, you should not have much trouble as you use
Type 2 when behind it and type 4 in front while avoiding the flames and the
dispatched ships on the top.
It ain't over yet. This dude decides to play dirty. It lobs swarms of lasers
blasts on you and they are very hard to avoid. Keep shooting at it and do your
best to avoid getting hit.

| Level 5 - Meteorite |
O =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= O
Aside from the usual, you got a ton of meteorites to maneuver through. A new
enemy appears here and it appears inside of an asteroid and starts shooting
heavily at you. Avoid the onslaught and use Rear Shots for the first part then
use other shots when it moves in front of you. The path gets tougher and
tougher as everything is shooting at you and swarming in and on top of that
you have to shoot your way through obstructions

Boss Fight: Meteor Mothership
Difficulty: 4
When it is close, two drones appear on the top and bottom each and shoot a
laser in your direction then when it opens up, it fires a wave of rings and
exposes its core as well as fire rockets. Aim your shots at the core as the
rings and rockets are easy to avoid on the far left. You just need to worry
about the drones at the top and bottom period.

| Level 6 - Secret Base |
O =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= O
Aint nothing changed here except for a couple extra enemies with one being
a set of rotating spikes, another being an invincible pincher that tries to
grab you and turrets hiding under rocks. A swarm of kamikazes later and you
fight a big enemy ship using the rock as cover. Go bout your business of
survival and fight the boss

Boss Fight: Floating City
Difficulty: 8
This boss doesn't seen that tough. Shoot at its base then move up as it opens
up and avoid the lasers and the drones it dispatches. The bullets are easy to
avoid. When it goes to the background, it will switch sides and stay still for
several moment and give you a chance to get a lot of rear shots in then it
continues its pattern.
When the base comes off, watch for the sides to rise and avoid the same old
pattern as before as you attack where the base used to be and avoid the bullets
and lasers. Once the bottom is destroyed. Boy this thing wants you dead as
it sends heat seeking beams and sprays bullets from the top. Aim you shots at
the core above and sacrifice lives and quarters just to beat this blasted thing
Whew!

| Level 7 - Core |

After surviving hell, you think you'd win the game already. Well unfortunately
no because there is more. From here on out we ain't gonna give details and
just cut to the chase because this shit is monotnous now. We will just give
you the important stuff.

Boss Fight: Core
Difficulty: 1
Avoid the big laser as it goes on and off then when the core is exposed, shoot
at it and avoid the bullets and thats it. That shit was too easy but that is
the end of the stage.
------
All there is left to do is escape this place. Once out, you face the last boss
of the game finally.
------
Last Boss Fight: Brain Ship
Difficulty: 7
Shoot the brain while avoiding the laser beams from the revolving guns around
the ship. This one is for all the marbles. If you have any quarters left, use
em all if you got a lot or make em count if you don't. This is a tough last
boss and even we had our hands full with this guy. Once the ship is destroyed,
only the brain remains. Move around and get in your shots and avoid the mini
brains and it dies easily if you avoid its charges.

Credits roll then it says please try the next stage. All it does is repeat
itself so forget it.
