Most of the hidden characters are unlocked at some point during Royal
Road Succession (the first option on the right column of the main menu)
with a specific person, while others may even be unlocked in Exhibition
mode.

Jumbo Tsuruta
Using anyone in Royal Road Succession mode, win the Triple Crown title
match at the Tokyo Dome show, then win the Special Match that follows.

Mil Mascaras
Using any Jr. Heavyweight in Royal Road Succession mode, clear the
month of July, then win the Special Match that follows.

Terry Funk and Dory Funk Jr.
Using anyone in Royal Road Succession mode, win the Tag Tournament in
the month of September, then win the Special Match that follows.

Terry Gordy and Steve Williams
Using anyone in Royal Road Succession mode, win the Real World Tag
League tournament in November, then win the Special Match that follows.

Bruiser Brody
Using Stan Hansen in Royal Road Succession mode, clear the month of May
and win the Special Match that follows.

Abdullah the Butcher
Play any match in any mode with Bleeding turned on. As soon as any
wrestler bleeds during the course of a match, he will be unlocked
afterwards.

Andre the Giant
Using anyone in Royal Road Succession mode, win the Battle Royal in
January and the Special Match that follows.

Akira Maeda
Using anyone from RINGS, clear the entire Royal Road Succession mode
and win the Special Match at the end.

Aleksandr Karelin
Using Akira Maeda (once unlocked), in Royal Road Succession mode, clear
the month of January and win the Special Match that follows.

Rickson Gracie
Using anyone from RINGS or PRIDE, in Royal Road Succession mode, clear
the month of August and win the Special Match that follows.

Mark Kerr
Using anyone from PRIDE in Royal Road Succession mode, clear the month
of October and win the Special Match that follows.

Bas Rutten
Using anyone from Pancrase in Royal Road Succession mode, clear the
month of May and win the Special Match that follows.

The Great Muta
Simply play 10 matches under Exhibition mode using Keiji Mutoh.

Ultimo Dragon
Simply play 15 matches under Exhibition mode using Magnum Tokyo,
SHIIMA, or Dragon Kid.

Antonio Inoki
Using anyone from NJPW, clear the entire Royal Road Succession mode and
win the Special Match at the end.

Original Tigermask (Satoru Sayama)
Using anyone from Michinoku Pro or the 3rd NJPW category (the
Jr.Heavyweights), in Royal Road Succession mode, win a Singles
Championship match in the month of January and the Special Match that
follows.

Naoya Ogawa
Using Shin'ya Hashimoto in Royal Road Succession mode, clear the month
of July and win the Special Match that follows.

Riki Chosyu
Using anyone from the 1st two NJPW categories (Heavyweights) or Atsushi
Onita (once unlocked), in Royal Road Succession mode, win a Singles
Championship match in the month of January and the Special Match that
follows.

Don Frye
Using Chono, Inoki, or Ogawa, in Royal Road Succession mode, clear the
month of May.

Atsushi Onita
Using Chono, Sasaki, Muta, or anyone from FMW, in Royal Road Succession
mode, clear the month of August and win the Special Match that follows.

Yoshiaki Fujiwara
Using Inoki or anyone from Pancrase or Battlarts, in Royal Road
Succession mode, clear the month of October and win the Special Match
that follows.
