1) Introduction
==================================================================================
This guide is for people who will attempt the new challenge of the remixed version
of OoT, the Master Quest. This game is exactly the same in retrospect to its
predecesor, but the dungeons have been revamped to provide additional challenge.
I will be making this FAQ with the mindset that you have already played the
previous game and beaten it. I will make references to the "normal" game from time
to time, but I will only cover the new dungeon makeups. This, in short, means that
overworld activies will be the same, as well as boss fights. Now that that's out
of the way, here we go.
2) Legal Stuff
==================================================================================
This FAQ is owned and copyrighted by me, Robert C. Furman Jr., and Nintendo holds
all the rights to its creations/characters. I will not allow any site other than
GamingMatrix and GamFAQs (and any others listed below in the credits) to host this
FAQ, thank you for understanding.
If you would like to e-mail me about a question in the FAQ or have something to
contibute to it, please send all inquires to the above address. Keep your
questions short and to the point and if you have something to contribute i will
put it in (after testing, of course) and you will be credited for your help, thank
you in advance.
3) General stuff you should know
==================================================================================
In OoT-MQ, the gamecube controller set-up is quite different from its N64
counterpart, so the creators made the C-button interface easier by allowing the
X, Y, and Z buttons on the GC controller to be used in place of the C Left, Right,
and Down repesctivly. If you need to use C-Up, you will still need to use the C
stick to do so.
Also note that "Z-targeting" has become "L-targeting", i'm sure you know what i
mean.
Translated Ocarina Songs
------------------------
For the songs "Zelda's Lullaby, Epona's, Saria's, Sun's, and Prelude of Light", it
will be easier to just use the C stick to make all the notes, as the only notes in
those songs have "C" notes. For the others, here is a rough translation guide
using the X, Y, and Z buttons to make beautiful music.
Song of Time: Y A Z Y A Z
Song of Storms: A Z C-up A Z C-up
Minuet of Forest: A C-up Y X Y X
Bolero of Fire: Z A Z A X Z X Z
Serenade of Water: A Z X X Y
Requiem of Spirit: A Z A X Z A
Nocturne of Shadow: Y X X A Y X Z
Frog's Melody: A Y X Z Y X Z A Z A Z X Y A
4) Structure of this FAQ
==================================================================================
The basic structure of this guide will be as follows:
<<Dungeon Name + Number>>
<Required Equip - this will explain which items you will need to access a
dungeon/section, and will include any items that will have to be used to complete
said dungeon. These items will roll over with each dungeon, so i'm not typing out
every single item by the time i get to the end of the game>
<Suggested Misc Equip - this will denote any misc item that will be used to
further make these dungeons easier or make gold skulltula hunting easier as well,
these items will also roll over with each new dungeon>
<Dungeon Treasure - this states the big treasure received in said dungeon>
<Suggested Heart Count - this is actually a number of the maximum number of
heart containers that can be reached at this point in the game with the given
equip and conditions of advancement in the game>
<Suggested Bottle Contents - like the title, this is only a suggestion, use
whatever you like>
<Gold Skulltula Count - the number of gold skulltulas that are in each
dungeon/section, also noting if you need to return to the dungeon for later clean
up, which will be covered in its own section>
<<Walkthrough of the dungeon, paragraph splits between rooms, so you won't get
lost (hopefully)>>
<<GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!! - will let you know if an obtainable gold skulltula is
in said room. These room descriptions will be in between asteriks *** >>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sections included in these brackets are basic pauses or other suggested
actions to take in the walkthrough, so you don't confuse these parts as part of
the walkthrough itself unless stated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) Dungeon 1: Inside the Deku Tree
==================================================================================
Required Equip: Kokiri Sword, Kokiri Shield, Deku Stick
Suggested Misc Equip: None
Dungeon Treasure: Fairy Slingshot
Suggested Heart Count: 3 (you have no choice on this one)
Suggested Bottle Contents: None (no choice here either)
Gold Skulltula Count: 4 (you can only get 1 now)
==================================================================================
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This first dungeon can get pretty intimidating being as you have only 3 hearts,
but just follow my lead and you'll be fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go into the tree center, turn to your left and climb the ladder there. Then turn
right, and start heading up the spiral walk/jump way, watching out for a lone,
annoying Keese after you jump onto the wooden plank. Keep going up until you reach
a chest, and what looks like an egg. These are Gohma eggs, and will hatch out the
baby Gohmas you found in the normal game. Kill it and be sure to watch out for
another egg dropping from the ceiling. Grab the map from the chest when they are
dead.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
In the box right next to the map chest is our first Gold Skulltula. Roll into it
to break it then kill it for an easy first token. From here, start climbing the
vine wall and drop off to the right. Continue clockwise around until you see a
yellow switch, but watch out for the keese on the yellow fire pillar. Hit the
switch and you'll light all the yellow fire pillars that you've seen so far (there
have been 3, one on each floor). Head for the door you saw when the webbing got
burned, get forced to listen to Navi's tedious explantion of how to open a door,
and go through.
You'll get locked in a room with 6 gohma eggs and a Deku Baba. Take your time to
kill the egg on the ground and lure the hanging one on the wall to fall off. Then
climb back up and hit the yellow switch, causing the platforms to come up for a
short time. Cross the platforms to the far side and also the left hole in the wall
to kill off the remaining gohmas to unlock the door, also causing a treasure chest
to appear. Open it to claim your Fairy Slingshot then head back out. If you feel
like it, you can use a Deku Stick to light the torch in the center of the floor
to make a chest with 5 rupees drop.
When you exit the room beware of the ambushing keese right there, just run away
counter-clockwise and it won't hurt you. Climb back down the vines, kill the
gohmas again, and then light a stick and run it over to the far webbing to burn it
off. Then enter the door.
You enter this room and right away are face-to-face with a HUGE baba. To fight
this gargantuan plant, stay at the door, hit it when it lunges and misses, then
close in and hit it with a jump attack, then back off to repeat that once more to
easily kill it. After that kill the 2 gohma eggs and fire your slingshot at the
gold eye to open the door, then go through.
This room leads you to believe that you can make it to the other side by jumping,
as a matter of fact though, when you try to land on the dropping platform, you'll
have to grab onto the edge of it, and then it will fall and break on contact. No
problem though, just kill the egg sitting there, and the giant skulltula if you
want to, then shot off one of the skulltulas on the vines, then climb up. Kill the
other egg up here and grab the compass from the chest. Turn around and shoot the
ladder in the distance to have it drop so you can exit the room. Double-back to
the main room first floor now. When you have bombs and the boomerang you can
return here for a gold skulltula.
In the center of the room, light a stick and attack at the webbing to burn it,
then jump on down. Kill the annoying Deku Babs in your way and hit the yellow
switch on the ground, lighting the yellow fire pillar. Then shoot the gold eye
above the door to unlock it. You can burn the web to your left and hit the switch
there for a chest with 5 rupees to drop if you like.
Fight this annoying combo of 3 gohma eggs (one is on the ceiling in the middle of
the room) and a Deku Scrub to unlock the door you just came through. One neat
trick here is to target the eggs while defending, and the scrub's nuts will
ricochet and kill the eggs, then all you have to do is kill the scrub. Go back
into that previous room and light a stick and bring it into this room to light the
torches here to unlock the door, then enter the next room.
Okay this room can get a little frustrating. The chest by the door has a heart in
it, so don't bother unless you need life. Step on the blue switch, which lights
the yellow fire pillar, now watch the platform in the water carefully; when its
almost fully reached the side your on, make your move. Quickly grab a stick, light
it, jump onto the platform, back off to the edge of it, roll under the spinning
spike log when you reach it, then jump onto the other side and light the torches
before your stick goes out. Head to the left side of the song of time block, right
next to the wall and shoot down the giant skulltula there, then climb the block
and head in the now-unlocked door.
Another annoying combo of 8 eggs, a scrub, and a keese inhabit this room. If you
use the same trick from before, you can kill the eggs on the ground, but not on
the ceiling. Defeat them all to unlock the door to the next room.
This interesting room has 4 keese guarding the fire pillars, just snipe them from
the door with your slingshot to minimize damage. When they are dead kill the baba
guarding the doorway to the right, then hop onto the switch, which lights the
pillars. Light a stick and burn away the webbing from that doorway and crawl
through the space there. If you feel like it, burn the other webbing as well, when
you have the boomerang and the song of time you can return here to claim 2 gold
skulltulas, one in this room and one in the the next.
Back in this room we have another giant baba and a Buisness Scrub that will sell
you a shield for 50 rupees. Kill the giant baba then go over to the block, listen
again to Navi explaining how to push/pull and climb blocks, then push it into the
water. Now go over to where the yellow fire pillar is, kill the baba there, then
light a stick and run it back to the webbing on the other side. Attack the hole
and the webbing will burn away like before, and you'll fall into a pool, again.
You'll come to this familiar room before the boss. In the normal game you had to
stun the scrubs in the order 2-3-1, but this time the order is 3-1-2, do this and
you'll open the door to the boss.
6) Dungeon 2: Dodongo's Cavern
==================================================================================
Required Equip: Goron Bracelet, Fairy Slingshot, Fairy Ocarina
Suggested Misc Equip: None
Dungeon Treasure: Bomb Bag
Suggested Heart Count: 5
Suggested Bottle Contents: Fairy, Fairy
Gold Skulltula Count: 5 (you can only get 3 now)
==================================================================================
As you did in the normal game, grab a bomb plant and place it next to the stone
wall in front of you to access the dungeon. Run to the central platform, getting
interupted by Navi saying not to touch the lava. Grab the bomb plant and quickly
jump over to the right-hand side and blow up the stone wall there, revealing a
chest with the map inside. Don't bother doing the same with the left side, because
there is only an obelisk behind the wall, and if you try to reach the other wall
on the right side, the bomb will blow up before you reach there. Now go back to
the center platform and look straight ahead towards the dodongo skull. If you
notice in the corners of the screen there are 2 boulders on the ground on each
side, quickly grab the bomb plant there again and jump over to the right boulder
and blow it up to reveal a yellow switch. Stepping on this switch makes the
eastern-most platform rise to the 2nd floor. Go ahead and rise to the 2nd floor.
After you reach it, cross the double-gapped bridge to find another yellow switch,
and press it to open the barred door. Travel back to that door and go through.
Destroy the 2 Beamos here and grab the silver rupee one of them leaves behind. Go
around the structure to a box, roll into it to reveal another rupee. Now grab the
last bomb plant in the line and quickly run it to the center of the bomb line so
they all explode to make the stairs fall. Also while you're here, grab a plant and
blow away the stone wall to access a gold skulltula later, when you have the song
of time. Climb the stairs and avoid that gray platform there, unless you need a
Deku Shield from the buisness scrub there for 50 rupees. Go up the left-hand
walkway and roll into the box there to grab the 3rd rupee. After you reach the top
beware of the 2 skulltula there, when the first one is dead, climb the vines there
to grab the 4th rupee, then kill the other skulltula. Behind that one is another
box, roll into it to grab the last rupee that unlocks the barred door, then go
through.
There are 3 Dodongos here, you can fight them on the ground the normal way, or
climb up to the center platform and use the bombplant to attack from above, either
way will work. When they are dead, the barred door will unlock and a chest will
appear with the compass in it, grab it and go to the next room.
Cross the suspended bridge and jump down into this next section. Now grab/push 3
blocks here so each is "centered" under each torch, then climb up to the lit
torch, lite up a stick and lite all 3 bottom torches quickly to unbar the north
door. Go ahead into that door.
In this room there are 5 gohma eggs on the ceiling, from the door snipe them out
with the sling shot. This will unlock the door behind you and reveal a chest with
5 rupees in it, but that's not the real prize here.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Roll into the 2 boxes on the right side of the room to uncover a gold skulltula,
then kill it for its token. Head back to the previous room.
Go to the ladder with a block underneath it and pull it out 3 spaces so you can
climb the ladder (pulling it completely out will not reveal a heart like in the
normal game however). Turn around and jump over to the fire pillar, lite a stick
and run it over through the darkness to a torch waiting there, then burn the
webbing (if you cause the skulltula behind the webbing to drop, L-target it and
swing the stick to kill it AND burn the webbing). While the torch is still lit,
lite up another stick and lit the other torch. Drop down and beware of the Baby
Dodongos there, then grab the block and push it against the far ledge there so you
can climb it. Climb it and make your way down the hall, killing skulltula and
keese as you go. After the clean-up, lite a stick and hit the bomb in the wall
there and it will drop, quickly pick it up and throw it at the stone wall to break
it and enter the door.
In this familiar room you will fight 2 Lizafos as you did in the normal game.
After you dispatch them, the door will unlock. Go on to the next room. Return here
when you have bombs to net yourself another gold skulltula.
Drop down in this next room and go to the right, turn around and snipe the keese
off the wall there. Then go to the end of the room and to the left of the ledge.
Break the box and hit the switch, then quickly get back to the upper platforms
and jump across, turn to your left, pull out your slingshot to snipe the keese,
and then jump into the niche to avoid getting your shield burnt off. Grab the bomb
plant and bring it to the right side of the far ledge to blow up a boulder there,
revealing a yellow switch. Press it and quickly hit the other switch as well, then
race back up to cross the ledges safely.
Jump across to the other side and grab the chest to your left on another ledge for
5 rupees if you like, then head into the hall, at the end, grab the plant and blow
up the rocks there. Now your gonna have to take some damage for this next part,
grab the plant and run up and jump off to the left, and gun it for the far stone
wall there, blow it up and enter.
Jump onto the center gray block first then onto the other, it will rise up to a
bomb plant. Grab it and blow up the nearby boulder to reveal another bomb plant.
If you bomb the stone wall there, it will lead you into a room where a buisness
scrub will sell you a Red Potion for 40 rupees. Anyway, try to snipe out the fire
keese from here to avoid it burning your shield, then grab the plant, walk up to
the step, and throw it up-right. If you threw it right it will cause a chain
reaction of bombs to go off ending with a boulder blowing up to reveal a gold eye
switch, then shoot it to unlock the door. Watch out for the giant skulltula here
as well. Go in the door.
In this small hallway just watch out for the 2 baby dodongs here and go through
the door.
You'll fight 2 lizafos here again just like the normal game. Killing them will
unlock both doors. Go on through the far door.
In this long room, there are 3 Poes, and you might want to kill them first because
this room can get very annoying with them wandering around. From the door you came
in, grab the bomb plant there and set it next to the bomb chain there, this will
unlock the near door, but don't go in there, because you'll need the boomerang to
kill and collect the gold skulltula there. Go to the far door and grab the bomb
plant near there and place it down on the reverse side of the pillar where another
bomb chain is, triggering that door to open, go through.
Go to the chest and receive your Bomb Bag, now backtrack to the room where you
first fought the lizafos by taking the platform to the second level and going back
through that area again.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Back in this room go to where the rocks are blocking the way, time your throw of
the bomb to blow them up and head out onto the platform to kill and claim your
token.
Now backtrack to the second floor main room again.
Now that your have bombs of your own, lite the eyes of the dodongo skull like in
the normal game to open up the path. A neat trick here is to jump down to the
center platform after you've dropped to second bomb in the hole, and you won't
take any damage from the fall. Then go on through the open mouth/door.
Watch out for the 2 baby dondongos here while you make your way right to the next
room.
There are 2 more baby dodongos here as well, kill them and drop down to face a
lizafos afterwards. After that pull the uppermost grave and step on it, pull out
a bomb and throw it over the fire, it will hit the switch which will drop the fire
shortly enough for you to get over. Do so and you will see a bunch of Armos here
blocking the way. If you want to go into the other door here, you'll only get a
chest with 5 rupees in it, its your call. Anyway, kill the armos and then place
a bomb to start the bomb chain that will hit a switch making a block which you can
climb. If you have any empty bottles left, there is a fairy in one of the pots
here to put in it.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
From the upper white block, jump up onto the center ledge, and follow it to the
end where another gold skulltula waits. Kill it then head down the hallway.
Follow the hallway and pull the grave, step on the switch to unlock the door and
head in.
Grab the chest for some bombs if you need them, then bomb the floor to face the
boss.
7) Dungeon 3: Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly
==================================================================================
Required Equip: Bombs, Silver Scale, Bottle-Letter/Fish
Suggested Misc Equip: Farore's Wind, Bombchu
Dungeon Treasure: Boomerang
Suggested Heart Count: 9
Suggested Bottle Contents: Fairy, Fairy, Green Potion
Gold Skulltula Count: 4 (you can only get 3 now)
==================================================================================
You start out this dungeon with 3 Shamboms, and an Octorock guarding the way. Deal
with them first, then bomb the boulder and press the switch there to reveal a
chest with the map inside. You'll see 2 cow heads implanted in the walls, which
you should shoot with your slingshot (you can L-target them for easy shooting).
The left one opens the door and the right one drops a chest with Deku Nuts in it.
Go through the door.
There two Biris (jellyfish) in this room to be aware of, and you can't go through
those red flesh pieces yet, so carefully kill the biris with sticks or nuts then
hit the cow switch to drop a chest that you'll get MUCH later. Hop onto the moving
platform and ride it down. Jump onto the ledge that has the water spouting and
open the chest for some more nuts if you need them. Turn around and L-target the
cow switch in the water and shoot it to reveal a chest. Jump into the water and
swim under the path the reach the compass in the chest. Beware of a Stinger in the
water as well. Grab the compass then hit the switch on the ground there to unlock
the far door up above. Ride the platform back up and make a careful jump to the
other side and go in the door.
You'll meet Ruto as you did in the normal game, and she'll storm off in the same
manner as well. Wait until she leaves then kill the 2 biris here, then L-target a
hidden cow by the door you came through. Carefully throw 2 bombs to break the
boulders covering the cow and then shoot it to unlock the far door for later
access. Cast Farore's Wind in this room as well, then follow Ruto down the hole
she fell through.
Kill the biris and shambom here first, then aim for the cow switches near the
green tentacle. The left one will drop a chest with Bombchu, the right will drop
a chest with more nuts. Talk to Ruto and pick her up when she sits down, then jump
onto the yellow switch in the ground and wait for a couple seconds, a water spout
will come from underneath you. When your high enough, jump onto the platform that
has the blue switch and place Ruto on it to unlock the door near to where you
dropped in from, then go through it (you can use the water spout to easily cross
between platforms).
Not too far into this hallway you'll fight a lizafos, dispatch him then continue
into the big portion of the room. The chest to the left has some more nuts, just
jump into the pool and fight off the Like Like and 2 stingers here. Kill them all
to reveal a chest, then jump on the yellow switch to raise the water. Climb the
ivy up to the chest and claim your Boomerang. Cast Farore's Wind again to return
to the yuck hole room. When you have the song of time you can come back here for a
gold skulltula.
Kill the biris here if you need to then stun the red flesh with your rang then
head through the already unlocked door.
Go towards the boulders you see in the distance and a lizafos will attack you.
After its dead, blow up the rocks and head back and into the west section, grab a
box and run it back to the blue switch, leave it there and head in.
Fight off the tentacle like before in the normal game and you'll access more
areas, then head back.
Fight or run past the lizafos again then head to the east section and head in the
upper door.
Shoot each cow in the wall here to drop a like like from the ceiling, kill them to
light the fire pillar. Grab the sticks from the chest if you need to, then light
one on the pillar and run it to the webbed up door you saw before, burn it, then
head in the door.
Kill the tentacle here to access the west section of the previous hall, head to
the upper room first.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Kill the 2 shamboms and 3 Tailpasarans first, then either hit the switch to cause
a timed water spout to throw a bomb at the rock in the wall, or if your aim is
good use a bombchu, the explosion will kill a gold skulltula as well and use your
rang to collect the token, then head into the other room of the hall.
Kill this last tentacle to free up the remaining areas of the dungeon. Head back
into the yuck holes room again and climb down to the bottom floor and head in the
door there.
Snipe out the 2 stingers with your rang and slingshot from above, then jump in and
dive to hit the switch to unlock the door. There are 3 invisible keese on the
other side, and they can be a pain to target and kill, but when you do a hookshot
block will appear to let you climb the other side.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Run around the web and kill the gold skulltula behind it, then grab your token and
head out.
Ruto will appear back in this room again, grab her when she sits and use the water
spout to reach the platform that was blocked by the green tentacle and go in.
You'll encounter the Zora Sapphire in here and like the original game, you'll need
to throw Ruto onto the platform, and Bigocto will come down to challenge you. Kill
it and head up. Face to the right from when you came up and shoot the cow to
unlock the door and head on through, beware of the Giant Biris in the middle of
the strecth to the door.
Don't worry about the cow in the wall or on the ground in this room, the
cow-switch does nothing and the ground cow is only there to provide milk, also you
waste your time to fight a lizafos if you go down there. So stun the flesh pieces
and bring a box with you over to the blue switch that unlocks the door, then head
in.
Jump over to the platform that lowers down to the main floor, then grab the heart
from the chest if you need to, then head in.
Jump down and fight the 2 like likes first, then shoot both cow switches, one will
drop a chest with 5 rupees in it and the other will unlock the door when you hit
it 3 times, as it rises with each hit.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
The gold skulltula is hiding where the switch to open the door in the normal game
was, and you'll have to steer your rang around to kill it and collect. Then go on
to fight the boss. If you have any empty bottles left, there is a fairy in one of
the pots here to put in it.
8) Gold Skulltula Wrap-Up
==================================================================================
Required Equip: Ocarina of Time, Song of Time
Suggested Misc Equip: None
Suggested Heart Count: 10
Dungeon Treasure: None
Suggested Bottle Contents: Fairy, Fairy, Green Potion
Gold Skulltula Count: 6 (3 in tree, 2 in cave, 1 in belly)
==================================================================================
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, now that you have your Song of Time and Boomerang, its time to go and
collect the remaining 6 gold skulltula from the dungeons.
One final note on this section, it may be easier to cast Farore's Wind at each of
the dungeon entrances for easy exit after you collect your tokens.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DEKU TREE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go into the room where you found the compass. Take the spiral walk/jump way until
you reach the door that you needed to burn down webbing to access, and also pass
the next room with the giant baba and 2 eggs to reach the room.
Use your boomerang to easily snipe the egg off the floor and one of the skulltulas
on the vines and head up, also kill the egg up there as well. Turn to the wall
that has vines leading up and throw a bombchu up there to clear out the rocks and
climb up.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
The gold skulltula will be waiting there for you to pick off with your rang.
Now traverse through the dungeon until you reach the room with the 4 fire pillars
with keese on them. This is easiest done by jumping through the hole in the first
floor, then climbing the block and crawling through to it.
Kill all the keese in here first to avoid frustration. Now one of the graves
around here will cause Navi to turn green in front of it, this is your cue to play
your song of time to make a block appear. Do so and climb onto the block. Keep
playing the song of time each time Navi turns green to create a stairway of song
of time blocks up.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
When you can't go any higher, Look up and to the left to find a gold skulltula on
the ceiling, then use your rang to kill and collect.
If you haven't already cleared out the webbing to access the other door in this
room yet then do so now, then head in.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Fight your way through the giant baba and 4 eggs to find the gold skulltula on the
wall, kill and collect and your done with the deku tree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DODONGO CAVERN
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head towards the room with the stairs you had to blow up to lower for you, from
the main room first floor just head into the metal door on the west side.
If you need to blow up the stone wall to access the next room do so now, otherwise
head in.
There will be 5 song of time blocks in your way here. Actually to be more
accurate, there are 15 song of time blocks in your way, but you don't need to make
them all disappear.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Just take the left-most column and play your song to clear the blocks away, the
last one will reveal a gold skulltula underneath. Be aware of the giant skulltula
that will drop from above though.
Now go into the blue hallway that had all the bomb chains in it, from the main
room first floor head into the opening coresponding to the bottom-right of the
map and follow that path until you make it there.
Blow open the stone wall to access the room if you need to, if not then head in.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
In here just look into the upper-left corner of the room to find the last gold
skulltula of this dungeon, kill and collect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JABU-JABU'S BELLY
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head to the room where you found your boomerang, from the start go straight and
take the moving platform down, or just jump down into the water, and take the door
there.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
All you gotta do here is jump into the pool and play the song of time to reveal
the gold skulltula sitting there, easy huh? Kill and collect as usual and you're
done with this section.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that you've wasted your youth chasing gold skulltulas, get back and move on
with the game will ya?

9) Mini Dungeon 1: Ice Cavern Raid
==================================================================================
Required Equip: Empty Bottle
Suggested Misc Equip: Hookshot
Suggested Heart Count: 12
Dungeon Treasure: Blue Fire
Suggested Bottle Contents: Fairy, Green Potion, Empty
Gold Skulltula Count: 0 (for this portion anyway)
==================================================================================
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This section is because I always go out of my way to get Biggeron's Sword before I
complete any of the adult dungeons. If you don't want to do this then skip forward
and return later when your ready for this part and its other half.
The real treasure of the mini-dungeon is the iron boots, but we're only here for
the blue fire to free King Zora right now, so bear with me.
As a pre-emptive to this section, cast Farore's Wind at the dungeon exit to save
some walking.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go forward along the path and hide behind the blue stalactite there to avoid being
crushed by a rolling boulder, as it passes swing at the stalactite to break it. As
soon as the boulder passes, roll along the path to the next section to avoid
hitting another boulder sent your way.
Kill the Freezard and 2 Water Tekkites here first, then use your hookshot to hit
the hidden switch among the crystals above and to the right of the doorway in
front of you to eliminate the ice barrier, then go in.
Another boulder frenzy here in this hallway, again hide behind the stalactite and
break it as it passes, then jet for the next section.
Kill the White Wolfos and the 2 freezards here to unlock the door to your right,
then cut away the icicles and head in.
Here is our destination, kill the 2 Wolfos first then turn to the left and
spin-slash the icicles and the switch there revealing a chest, grab some blue fire
and pour it on the red ice. Grab the map for later use, then grab another dose of
blue fire, cast Farore's Wind again to return to the exit, and head out to revive
King Zora.
10) Dungeon 4: Forest Temple
==================================================================================
Required Equip: Master Sword, Hookshot
Suggested Misc Equip: Biggoron's Sword
Suggested Heart Count: 12
Dungeon Treasure: Fairy Bow
Suggested Bottle Contents: Fairy, Fairy, Green Potion
Gold Skulltula Count: 5
==================================================================================
Turn to your right and snipe down the first 2 skulltulas off the wall, then start
to climb up. If you carefully make your way up, you can avoid taking damage from
the fourth one, then land on the tree. Use your hookshot to snipe out the giant
skulltula in the air then hop over and hit the switch to drop a chest containing
a small key. After that head in the door.
Easily kill the 3 giant skulltulas with your hookshot, then as you make your way
towards the door, you'll hear a skulltula.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Look up at the doorway and you'll see a gold skulltula in the left corner. Kill
and collect and head in the locked door.
As you make your way into the main room, you'll see the 4 Poe Sisters take the
flames from the pillars, causing the elevator to lower, just like in the normal
game. Just go straight and head in the door there.
Play the song of time to remove the block here and head in the door it reveals.
Kill the 2 wolfos in this room to unlock the door and reveal a chest with a small
key. If you have any empty bottles there is a fairy in one of the pots here to put
in it. After that head back to the main room.
From the door you just came through, head over to the right side of the pillars
and head in the door there.
Kill the lone Stalfos in this hallway to unlock it and head through.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
First off run around the corner to your left from the door and you'll see a gold
skulltula on the ground, just kill and collect and start back from the door.
Climb the ladders here and head into a wide section where Navi points out that
there are arrows painted on the floor. That first blue block you see you can just
push it into the corner there, then run around the opened walkway to the other
blue block waiting to be pushed into position. Do so and it will lower providing a
step. Double back to where you pulled out the 1st blue block and you'll see a
ladder, climb up it and pull the red block out of your way, then head back down to
the blue step and climb up. There is another red block in your way here, but you
need to push it into position for another step, do so then climb up. Hit the
switch you see there to provide an easier means of getting back when you have to
go through here again (and yes, you WILL have to). Turn the corner and climb the
ladder and face off with 2 Blue Bubbles, then unlock and head in the door.
Head on through the hallway into the weird rooms from the normal game that will
get twisted up later on. Get forced to listen to Navi's speech about monsters
hanging from the ceiling, then jump down into the room and collect the Boss Key
from the colorful chest there. By this time a Wall Master will have locked onto
you, so wait for it to drop then kill it for a nice rupee bonus, then drop down
into the hole in the floor.
Kill the lone Floormaster here to unlock the door and head on through.
Follow along the balcony and turn right before the door in front of you to go in
another door there.
Kill the Redead here to unlock the door and reveal a chest with a small key
inside. then head into the other door on the balcony.
Hit the switch here and you'll twist the hallway and room mentioned before and
also remove the white barrier in front of you. Make your way back up by using the
shortcut revealed by the switch you hit before and head in the door. (See, i TOLD
you you'd have to, hehe)
Head through the now twisted hallway and jump across the ledges and unlock the
door and go through.
Head down the stairways here and just head in the door at the bottom.
Fight off a lone stalfos while there's a big hole in the floor. After you kill it,
the floor gets filled by a platform from the ceiling, followed by 2 more stalfos.
Kill them to unlock the doors and reveal a chest with the Fairy Bow inside. Head
into the next hallway (the door that has the forest medallion symbol over it).
Before you go cast Farore's Wind here to save some troublesome backtracking
later.
Now that you have your bow, you can kill of the first 2 poe sisters just like you
did in the normal game, so go ahead and do that. The blue one gives you the
compass when it dies and the red one gives you the map. Now head back to the main
room.
Okay back in the main room, you'll notice gold eye switches above 2 of the
archways, shoot the one on the left just to unlock it, then shoot the other and go
through that door.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
This one is TOO easy, because you need to hit this hookshot spot to continue on
with the dungeon anyway and its right in the way. All you have to do is turn
around and look up after you make it out of the doorway, then kill and collect.
Anyway, hook yourself up on the small platform above the door and turn to your
right and use your song of time to start creating steps. Keep creating every time
Navi prompts you to and you'll reach close enough to use the vines on the wall.
Jump onto them and work your way to the right balcony there, and grab a small key
from the chest. Now work your way back down and head over to the well, jump onto
the edge and look down into it. you'll see a gold eye switch, shoot it to drop the
water so you can climb down, then do so.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Grab the small key out of the chest on the bottom then go to the other side and
you'll see a gold skulltula sitting there by the drain grate fot you to kill.
After that climb out of the well.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
If you climb all the way to the top of the well ledge you'll see the final Forest
Temple gold skulltula sitting there for the killing. Now cast Farore's Wind to
return to where you found the bow.
Okay head through the stairways where you killed the blue poe to find a locked
door at the end, unlock and head in.
Navi will explain again to watch out for wallmasters here, but you can ignore her
and jump down, only to climb up another ladder soon after. Head down the hallway
killing the 2 Green Bubbles as you go then unlock the door at the end and head in.
This room is easy, jump on the platform that has the ice-encased gold eye and grab
the crate, then bring it over to the blue switch and keep it there. Stand on one
of the moving platform and carefully place an arrow shot through the fire into the
eye switch to activate it. This will cause the previous room/hallway to twist up,
which you will now head back through after revoming the crate from the blue switch
to remove the white barrier from the exit door.
Head back through the now twisted hallway and drop through the hole in the floor
in the next room.
Position yourself in the center of the end of this room and take your time to
snipe as many giant skulltula off the ceiling as you can with your bow. Then
carefully make your way through this room with the dropping ceiling, over to the
switch on the left. Hit it to open the room at the top of the stairs, then make
your way back to it and head through.
Drop down and grab the small key from the chest, then use your song of time to
make it back up and go in the door again.
This time make your way to the end of the hall, where the locked door is, still
being aware of the ceiling and the giant skulltulas. You can ignore the other
switch here, unless you need arrows, which is what the chest dropped from it
contains.
This room is exactly the same as in the normal game, shoot the picture to drop
down 5 blocks which you'll use to recreate the picture you just shot in a set
amount of time. Doing so releases the green poe, which you'll defeat to unlock the
door.
Head through the hall back to the main room to fight the final poe sister.
Defeat the last poe sister exactly the same way as in the normal game, then the
elevator will rise so take it down to the bottom floor.
Rotate the room twice clockwise and hit the switch you see, opening the gate in
front of you, revealing another switch that you will hit to open another gate.
Rotate clockwise twice more and head into the seemingly empty room, turn around
and shoot the gold eye switch to unlock the final gate. Then head off to fight the
boss.
11) Dungeon 5: Fire Temple
==================================================================================
Required Equip: Fairy Bow, Goron Tunic, Din's Fire
Suggested Misc Equip: Scarecrow's Song
Suggested Heart Count: 15
Dungeon Treasure: Megaton Hammer
Suggested Bottle Contents: Fairy, Fairy, Fairy, Green Potion
Gold Skulltula Count: 5
==================================================================================
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes you read right Din's Fire is required for the completion of this dungeon, or
at least as far as i've been able to ascertain anyway. Keep in mind that you will
be using this spell alot in this dungeon, so make certain that you have a green
potion or two with you or you may find yourself falling short on magic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Climb up the side of the stairs in front of you, otherwise a flame wall will
appear and burn you back. When you reach the top use Din's Fire on the 3 statues
and also on the 2 torches beside the stairs to unlock the left-hand door, then
head in.
You'll encounter Darunia just like the normal game and heads into the boss room.
After he leaves follow the jumping path to the right of you. Hookshot over and
climb onto the middle platform and cast Din's Fire to light 2 torches here. Climb
to the top now and roll into the box to break it, revealing the second torch you
lit. Hurry and fire an arrow through the fire to light the torch on the far side
before the torches go out to unlock the goron's cell. Go over to where he was and
collect the small key from the chest, then return to the main room.
Take your key to the locked door at the bottom of the steps to the right and
unlock it then head in.
Careful here as a keese will swoop down on you as soon as you enter here. Kill it
and the 2 stalfos that appear in as well to unlock the next door and head in.
You'll enter this room with 5 Flying Tile enemies flying at you, just block them
with your shield. Then turn your sights on the Iron Knuckle sitting there, and
kill it to unlock the door. If you have any empty bottles, there are a whopping 4
fairies in pots here to fill those bottles up with. After which, head in the door.
Defeat the Flare Dancer in this room to unlock the next door and reveal a chest
with the Megaton Hammer in it. Head into the next room with your prize.
Use your hammer to slam the rusted switch down to free the goron and claim the map
from the chest, then head out back to the main room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Take my advice on this, exit the dungeon and go get your double length magic meter
from the great fairy of magic now that you have the megaton hammer before you
further advance here. You'll thank me later.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright back in the dungeon use the steps from before to unlock the door to the
boss key door. When you reach this room again cast Farore's Wind to save you some
backtracking later, then head over towards the torches on the right to recover
some of the magic you just used, then head back to the main room.
Use you new hammer on the blocks guarding the door and head in.
This room can get extremely frustrating if you don't know what to do. Head off on
the right side until your on the moving block thats right next to the fire, and
use your hookshot on the torch to pull yourself over. Use a bomb on the shaded
stone wall to open a path to the door behind it and head in.
Use Din's Fire on the torch to free the goron, and grab a small key from the chest
behind it, then head back.
Use Din's Fire on the torch here and make your way to the opposite side. Almost
right before the other side there is a block that will rise to the ceiling
revealing a hole in the wall and a torch. Use Din's Fire once again to unlock the
door, then use your hookshot on the now-risen hookshot block to get up there and
head in.
You'll have 8 Flying Tile enemies this time coming at you, just do that same as
before. After thats done, hookshot over the fire using the torch and collect the
boss key, using the same method to return. Also if you need to fill a bottle there
is a fairy to do that in a pot here for you. Head back to the previous room.
Drop down below and head into the door behind you now.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Smash the switch here to free the goron and gain access to the gold skulltula
behind him. Then head back out.
Okay now is the time to finally cross the suspended bridge here to unlock the door
at the end, then head in.
Slide on down the slick plank and climb the fences to the top. Time your jump onto
the moving block on its way up so you don't get burned from the fire its sets on.
When you reach the top head in the door there.
In this room, start climbing the ledges up and use Din's Fire on the torch to make
a hookshot block come up so you can reach the top by standing on it to get more
height. When you reach the top a lizafos will attack you, kill it then head in the
door after you reach the top of the fence.
In this room there are 5 places where a lizafos will drop and attack, so be aware
of that as you travel this room. Head to the left along the outer wall and
carefully listen for a skulltula sound, then place a bomb there to reveal a rusted
switch. Smash it down with your hammer to cause hookshot blocks to come up on the
upper platforms. Forget those for now and continue to go along the outer wall.
Turn around the next corner, following the wall, and place a bomb at the corner
there to blow open a door and a blue switch. Now head to the other side of the
room using the upper path until you get to a gate. Fire an arrow through the gate
to hit the switch to open it. Jump to the right of the switch and roll into the
first box to break it, then pick up the box that fell and carry it all the way
back to the blue switch and place it there to get through the door.
Follow the small path and hit the switch to let the goron free, and grab a small
key from behind him, then head back out.
From the door you just came out of, you'll see only 1 of the hookshot blocks in
your line of sight. Latch up onto that one and bomb the crack in the floor and
climb down.
Roll into the boxes here to reveal a rusted switch. Smash it down to unlock the
gates and give you access to a chest with the compass inside. Now climb back up.
Climb on top of the hookshot block here and face the locked door, and you'll
notice Navi color changing to green. Play the song of time to reveal a block and
jump onto it. You'll now see a hookshot spot up and to the left. Latch onto it and
turn around to see another hookshot spot and do the same. This will put you on a
platform that will rise into the ceiling. Go through the door at the top.
From the door Navi will lock onto something in the wall, use your hookshot on the
targeted panel to unlock the door above. As you head on up kill the 2 Torch Slugs
for more magic power.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Here's the second one, and its not easy to get. This puzzle requires some speed
and a good aim of your hookshot. You'll notice a switch on the ground not too far
from the door. Ignore it for now and make your way up to the top. Slam down the
switch on the ground there to cause 2 hookshot blocks to come up, then go back
down to the other switch. Before you hit it, make sure Link is looking towards the
wall, then hit it. Now quickly take a few steps forward, then aim your hookshot up
at the block and pull yourself up, then gun it over to the block and move it
before the fire rises again. You only need to move the block once and you can
still kill the gold skulltula under it and grab the token with your hookshot.
After that head back into the large half-circle room.
Back in this room, climb up onto the top ledges and make your way to the locked
door, then open it up and go in.
Traverse over the cage-like platforms until you reach the one right after where
the caging to your left stops. Turn to your left and hookshot onto the box to pull
yourself over. Grab a small box and jump down into the caged area and place it on
the blue switch to light the pillars. Hookshot back out and head to the pillars.
Now you need to place a nice arrow shot through one of the fires, to a torch thats
is set high up on the far wall. Do so and you'll unlock the door, jump over to it
and head through.
Just trek through this connecting hallway to the next section.
Here is the room where you can smash down the LONG pillar into the boss door room
so you can access the boss. Do so now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now you probably want to fight the boss now, but you'll miss out on the remaining
3 gold skulltulas. Follow me on this to get them all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the pillar jump onto the other platform where the door is and go in.
You hear a skulltula in here, but can't get to it yet. Hookshot over the fire and
smash the switch there to open the locked side of doors in this room below, then
hookshot back and leave the room.
Turn to your left and play the song of time to reveal a block, jump onto it, then
jump into the fire maze section from above. Make your way to the door here and
head in.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
This one is easy, its sitting on the wall right in front of you. I think you know
what to do here. Just kill the lizafos that drops in on you first, then after
return to the previous room.
Turn to your left, walk up a bit, and play your song of time to reveal a block
you can climb to escape the fire maze section your in. Then head into the second
fire maze section on the other side of where the pillar was to make it to a door.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Place a bomb next to the niche in the wall to reveal, and most likely kill, a gold
skulltula. Then head out the other door.
Head through this section until you find a switch on the ground, hit it and run up
and past the fire before it rises again, then head through the door here.
Defeat the flare dancer to access the lift up. Step on the lift and quickly jump
off. Go where the lift was to pick up a small key. Wait for the lift to return
then take it up, then head into the door at the top.
Work your way up through this room and go through the door at the top.
Ignore the switch and start climbing up the large steps, then drop in the little
passageway inbetween. You'll see a switch on the ground aways up. Before you hit
it play your Scarecrow's song to call pierre. step on the switch and latch onto
pierre and gun it to the chest for a small key. Smash the block near the door to
make it drop and take the door down there.
Fight the stalfos that appears, then smash the little raised block to cause steps
to appear. There is another stalfos to fight on the way down as well. After they
are dead, lock on to the big face in the wall and hit it with your hookshot to
unlock the door, then head in.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Here is your last gold skulltula waiting on the wall. Now cast Farore's Wind to
return to the boss door room and go beat the boss.

Return to the room where you found blue fire by using the method from before. Take
one dose of the fire and go back to the previous room.
Turn right and climb the 2 steps then melt the red ice here and head on.
A mix of 2 boulders constantly running through and 2 freezards block your way,
either avoid or kill the freezards and head on further.
Kill the freezard on the ground then hit one on platform with your hookshot and
follow up with a quick sword slash to finish it off. Jump back down and you'll see
the tip of a switch imbeded in the ice here. Drop a bomb near it to trigger it,
and the white barrier surrounding the Heart Piece will disappear. Go collect it,
then jump over across the platforms until you reach more blue fire. Collect a
dose then fire your hookshot at the freezard and hit it with your sword to finish
it off like the other, then collect the compass from the chest there.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Return to the platform near a gold skulltula is incased in red ice. If you turn to
the right a little and play your song of time, a block will reveal, so jump on it.
Play the song of time again to reveal another block right next to the skulltula,
then you can melt the ice and kill it. After that grab 2 doses of blue fire and
head back into the large chamber again.
Go over and melt the remaining red ice in this room and head on.
Hide in one of the little niches here to avoid the boulder, then head on.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Turn to your right in this room and play the scarecrow's song when Navi turns
green, then hookshot up and kill the gold skulltula waiting for you. Take your
time and kill the 2 white wolfos and 2 ice keese in here, then turn back towards
the entrace of this room and hit the switch mixed in with the crystals.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
This will remove the white barrier around the gold skulltula near the red ice, go
kill it. After that, go hit the switch again, climb the white barrier, melt the
red ice and head on.
Watch out for 2 ice keese in this small hallway, and fill up one of your empty
bottles with the fairy in one of the pots near the door, then head in.
Defeat the lone stalfos here to reveal a chest with your treasure: the Iron Boots.
Sheik now appears and teaches you the Serenade of Water, so use that to go
challenge the Water Temple.

the beamos but don't bother to collect the rupees. Spin-slash the switch through
the gate to open it and head through the door there.

the path to stop the spikes from crushing you, stopping to pull it when you get
halfway.

very poor movement. Keep moving and you won't get stuck and strike when it lets
it's guard down to unlock the next door and reveal a chest with 5 rupees in it.
Head in the door.
This room has 5 silver rupees you must collect in 1:30 or less to proceed. The
first one you should seek out is inside the freezard around corner to the left
from the start, kill it and collect the rupee. Turn around and climb the walkway
up, turn the corner to the right, then hookshot over the fire and hang off left
side of ledge there and fall off to gain rupee #2. Take a left and turn the
corner, then cut the icicles down to reveal #3. Turn around and walk to the edge

into the fires around you to see a switch, then shoot it to open the upper door.
Ignore that door for now and take the bottom door.
In this room defeat 2 torch slugs and an iron knuckle in 1:00 or less to reveal a

Grab some bombchu from the chest and look up to see a rock. Guide a bombchu up
there to blow up the rock for later. Behind to snake statue near the water spout
is a volcanic rock, smash it with your hammer to reveal a gold eye switch, and
then shoot it to drop a chest with a small key. Look towards the entrance to the

another chest with more bombchu. Go outside, learn your Requiem of Spirit, and
come back as a child.

Talk to Nabooru and tell here your doing "Nothing, really" just like in the normal
game and tell her you'll give her the Silver Gauntlets to access this side of the
temple, then crwal on through.
Switch to your Hylian shield to avoid getting your Kokiri shield burnt away.
Defeat the 2 torch slugs jump attacks to unlock the right door. If your want the
hearts in the fire shoot the gold eye switch to lower it for awhile. Head in the
door that unlocked on the right.
Play the sun's song to stun the gibdo then circle to its back and defeat it. Pull
the grave furthest from the door to reveal a switch, then hit it to make the
middle portion of the gate to fall. Position your self and send a bombchu to the
rock beyond the gate to blow it up revealing a gold eye switch. Shoot it to make
a white platform appear, cross the gap and play the sun's song again to stun the
2 gibdo on this side and defeat them to unlock the door, then head in.
Jump onto the spinning platform and defeat the stalfos that drops to unlock the
door and make the fire disappear. If your having trouble you can use your rang for
an easy stun, then repeat until he falls off or dies. If you have an empty bottle,
one of the pots here contains a fairy to fill it with. After, head in the door.
Take your time to kill off the keese around you then pull the grave here to reveal
a switch, and hit it to make a bridge to the other side. Continue to kill all the
keese in the room (there are 5 total) and kill the Anubis easily by casting Din's
Fire on it. This will make a chest appear with a small key, collect it and the map
from the big chest and head out.
Throw a bombchu into the crawlspace here to blow up a boulder blocking it, then
enter and unlock the door on the other side and head in.
Hit the switch in front of you to open the gate overhead, and back off to the door
to avoid a like like dropping on your head. Defeat it by quickly stabbing it, not
slashing, when you can to avoid taking damage. Climb up the wall into the next
room.
Watch out for the 4 ambushing baby dodongos here, then kill off the beamos to
reveal a chest with bombchu inside. Face away from the door and throw a bombchu
into the rubble up above (you can L-target it to make it easier on you) to cause
sunlight to hit the sun symbol on the floor, making a chest fall down out of
reach. After that unlock the door and head in.
Jump down and head over to the side of the goddess statue and hit the gold eye
switch to reveal a chest with the compass. Climb up the wall and up the stairs,
watching out for a possessed jar after the first tier, and stop on this 1st tier.
Stand next to the railing by the wall and cast Din's Fire to melt the ice on the
eye switch and trigger it, unlocking the door there. Go to that door and go in.
Go to the end of the path by the edge of the pit and look down at to the left to
see a gold eye switch, then shoot it to drop a chest with a small key. Return to
the previous room.
Climb the stairs again, watching out for a possessed jar after the first tier,
again, and stop when you reach the top by the locked door. Look over towards the
goddess statue and look down to see a song of time block with a box on it. Guide
your jump to land on this block, then turn to face the wall by and play the song
of time to reveal another block. Grab the box and jump across over to the stairway
and climb up. Drop the box and play the song of time again at the top facing the
far wall to reveal another song of time block, then grab the box and cross the gap
again. Watch out for 2 possessed jars on this side, then turn toawrds the goddess
statue again and look down to see a blue switch on here hand. Jump over on the
hand and leave the box there to unlock the door above. Then climb back up and head
in.
Climb the stairs avoiding the flame jets and head in the door.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This room WILL frustrate you, trust me, not only be cause of the sheer number of
un-killable Red Bubbles bouncing around, but also all the switch hitting and
block moving while dealing with these menaces. Not to meantion when you finally
put 2 of the blocks into place, a wallmaster will come down on you with almost
no warning, which is something you should keep in mind. Try to keep your cool and
follow my instruction to get out of this hellhole of a room without wallmasters
coming down to ruin your day. Also if you have Naryu's Love, now is the PERFECT
time to try it out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Climb over and into the section that has the sunlight shining down and ignore the
block next to it. Turn around and pull the block over by the fire thats nearest to
you instead and fit it into place to unlock the door and head in.
Kill the giant skulltula in your way and unlock and enter the door.
Fight the iron knuckle here but be careful, being as your still child Link, this
battle will take while. Use Naryu's Love if you have it and the magic for it, and
remember that if you need hearts just direct the iron knuckle's attacks to also
hit the pillars across the room for 3 each. After you defeat it head in the door
and out into the desert.
Get forced to listen to Kaepora Gaebora's speech, then collect the Silver
Gauntlets from the chest. After which you'll see the scene where Nabooru gets
abducted by the witches like in the normal game. After you get control back, play
the prelude of light and return as an adult again.

Smash the 2 volcanic rocks on each side of the stairs to reveal silver rupees
you'll be collecting later. Aim your longshot up into the opening you bombed and

Okay, back in this room, head to the bottom door on the western side and go in.
Use your longshot to pull you up to the chest you released before for a small key,
then hit the switch to open the gate and hop/climb down the hold and go through
that door.
Use your hammer to make a chest drop and return to the goddess room once again.
Use the same method of getting the box over to the blue switch like before and
head in the door and through the next hallway into the fire-bubble room.
Grab the block that is in the corner near the door where you came through and
start to position it by the fire just north from that door. Shoot the switch to
lower the fire and quickly push the block past the fire line and into the sunlight
to create a white platform.

This last part of the spirit temple will be all adult Link, so don't worry about
time-travel anymore, unless you fell that you have to that is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, to start off, return to the goddess room once again using the same method
from before.
Stand on the platform where the big chest is and use fire arrows on the 3 torches
around the goddess to unlock the bottom east door. After, start climbing the west
stairs, stopping on the tier where the possessed jar is. One neat trick i found
here was to manual target the floormaster on the other side with the longshot and
pull yourself over, which will also stun the monster. Climb the stairs and unlock
and go through the door up there.
Use the hookshot to pull yourself over the fire wall and enter the door.
Quickly start chucking bombs at the beamos here before they start ganging up on
you. After they're defeated the door behind you will unlock and a chest with
arrows inside will appear. Head over to pit which has a song of time block
floating in the air and play that song to move it up and the other one on the
ground will also join it. Jump onto the block, grab the box that was released, and
bring it over to the blue switch that was where the block used to be to unlock the
other barred door and head in.
Fight off 2 dinofos in the room, then target the small chest on the ground. Hit it
with your sword to unlock a door and head in.
Use your lens to see and fight the invisible floormaster to unlock the door and
head in.
Fight the iron knuckle here to unlock the door and head in and out into the
desert.
Grab your prize, the Mirror Shield, and head back into the dinofos room.
Fight off those pesky dinofos again, then play the song of time near the block to
move it. Reflect the light into the sun symbol to unlock the door, then play the
song of time again to return the block here to get it out of your way, and head
in.
Play the sun's song to stun the gibdo and kill it, then claim the boss key from
the chest and head back into the goddess room.
Travel down the stairs and into the bottom door this time.
Fight off the 2 stalfos here, being aware of the wallmaster to drop, if you keep
moving it won't get you and you can kill it when it misses. When they're all dead,
reflect the sunshine into all 3 of the sun symbols, each causing a wallmaster to
drop. Kill each one and the gate will open, drop through, avoid the spike sliders,
and head in the door.
Head toawrds the water spout and collect the rupee on the ground there, and also
the other one near the rock. Break the rock with your hammer and smash the switch.
Quickly run into the CENTER of the spout and grab the rupee there, then cross over
into the entrance section of the dungeon and collect the last 2 rupees on either
side of the stairs to drop the last chest in this room which contains a small key.
Now loop around the dungeon to get back into the eastern side of this room.
Instead of using the floormaster in the goddess room to cross over this time, head
to the bottom door and cast the scarecrow's song to call pierre and you can avoid
it all together. When you make it back, head into the unlocked door.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Snipe off the gold skulltula in the middle of the ceiling, then head into the
locked door in the other room. Play zelda's lullaby on the triforce symbol to
unlock the door to this room. If you care to you can jump down into the sand and
fight off hoards of Leevers until you fight a huge version of one. Kill it or
avoid it to reveal a chest with 50 rupees in it.
Smash the switch there to open one of the gates and head into that section. Play
the song of time here and another gate will open. Continue this pattern using
epona's, then sun's, then song of storms, and finally zelda's lullaby to open the
door. and head in. Kill the Moblin by getting to either side and cutting it down.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!!
***********************
Kill the 7 skulltulas and also an invisible one to make 8 in here, then kill the
gold skulltula on the wall to the left of the door. The chest has 50 rupees in it,
if you care. Now head all the way back to the room that had 4 beamos in it.
Unlock the bottom west door and head in.
Use your bow to snipe down the 4 fire keese up above as they come dive-bombing you
to save some frustration and damage. Then start to climb the shifting wall and
collect the 5 silver rupees as you go. Take your time to notice the pattern of the
shifts and you make it with little problem. Collect all the rupees to unlock the
door up above, and kill the torch slug if you need a magic pot, then head in.
Play zelda's lullaby to unlock the western door and head in.
Jump down into the part with the boxes and break the ones on the west side to
reveal a switch, smash it down to unlock the door and head in.
Take your time to clear out these 3 conjoining rooms of enemies first: 2 green
bubbles, a dinofols, and a torch slug. Return to the room by the door and shine
the sunlight into the sun symbol above the archway into the next room to drop the
fire around the mirror in the last room. Quickly run to that mirror and push it
so it faces the large mirror in the other room. After that rotate the other mirror
to reflect the sunlight into the large mirror. Return to the mirror that had the
fire around it and use your lens to spot an nvisible chest with a small key
inside. Return to the previous hallway and unlock that door and head in.
GOLD SKULLTULA ALERT!!! x2
**************************
The last 2 gold skulltulas in this dungeon belong in this room. Guide the iron
knuckle to attack the brick walls on the north and west walls so you can claim
those tokens. Return to the mirror room afterwards.
Jump onto the lower platform and reflect the sunlight onto the sun symbol behind
you to lower the platform into the goddess room. Heed Navi's warning about
wallmasters and carefullt avoid the one that drops and kill it while staying on
the platform. Reflect the sunlight onto the face of the goddess like you did in
the normal game to reveal the final door. Longshot over by targeting to gate and
head through the door to fight the boss.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<<KOKIRI>> <<IRON>> <<HOVER>> - these will indicate which boots to wear during the
stated part of explanation.
<<GORON>> - this will indicate that the red tunic must be worn during the stated
part of explanation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kill all of the enemies in this initial room to unlock the door: 2 green bubbles,
2 armos, and an iron knuckle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SPIRIT BARRIER
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kill the 2 fire keese and the torch slug, then shoot the gray eye switch above the
entrace door to have an iron knuckle drop in. Direct its attacks to destroy the
brick walls and then smash down the switch it reveals to unlock the door, then
head in.
Kill the green bubble and grab some bombchu from the chest if you need some.
Direct a bombchu up onto the ceiling and through the opening in the gate to hit a
switch on the other side to unlock the door and head in.
Kill the green bubble if the bomb didn't then head towards the sun symbols. Play
the sun's song to stun the gibdo and redeads here and kill them all. Shoot a fire
arrow in the cieling to burn the webbing and bring sunshine into the room. Reflect
the sunlight to a hidden sun symbol above the next door to unlock it. Also reflect
the sunlight to each of the sun symbols on the diagonal walls to reveal chests, 2
of which have key items: the Gold Gauntlets and a small key. After that head in
the door.
Fire a light arrow into the orb to dispell the spirit barrier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FOREST BARRIER
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fight the 2 stalfos here to unlock the next door, then wait for the fan above the
door to stop before hookshoting up onto the ledge where a small key waits. Head in
the door afterwards.
Aim a fire arrow at the fan to the left of the far door to melt the ice around a
gold eye switch and trigger it, dropping a chest on the left platform. Shoot
normal arrows into the armos on that platform the kill it and the beamos when it
explodes, then aim your longshot for the chest and hook your selfover. Now bomb
the beamos on the other platforms systematically and make your way to the other
door. Destroy the beamos on the platform next to you and wait for the fan to stop
before jumping on it.
<<IRON>>
Face the other wall and play the song of time twice to cause an armos to fall onto
the blue switch, unlocking the door.
<<KOKIRI>>
Head in the door.
Fire a light arrow into the orb to dispell the forest barrier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHADOW BARRIER
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kill the green bubble here to get it out of the way, then fire an arrow into the
bomb plant on the platform on your right to make a chest drop. Hook over to the
chest and grab some arrows from it if you need them.
<<HOVER>>
Use your lens to see the invisible platform and time a rolling hover onto it and
time another rolling hover onto the small platform with the bomb plant to grab a
silver rupee there. Return back to the moving platform and grab the silver rupee
on it and cross over onto the next platform with the beamos.
<<KOKIRI>>
Kill the beamos to reveal the third rupee and use a fire arrow on the imbeded
torch in the ground to create a white platform leading to the next. Bomb the 2
beamos from the white platform to avoid damage and turn around and look down to
see a gold eye switch, shoot it to drop a chest with a small key. Use your lens
to navigate the invisible bridge over to the beamos and destroy it for the fourth
rupee. Double back and cross the other invisible bridge, timing your jump to avoid
the guillotine and grab the fifth rupee to unlock the door. Head in.
Fire a light arrow into the orb to dispell the shadow barrier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WATER BARRIER
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kill the 3 freezards wandering around this room first, then spin-slash the hand
sticking out near the wall to kill it and activate a hidden switch. Empty a bottle
so you can take some blue fire from the torch and collect some. Melt the red ice
blocking the door then repeat to grab another dose, then unlock and head in the
door.
There's keese of all kinds in this room: normal, fire, ice and invisible, one of
each here. Kill them all first to avoid frustration. After jump into the hole in
the ground to grab the first silver rupee, jump back out climb onto one of the ice
blocks and make a jump off it to collect another rupee in the air. Grab another
rupee in the little niche in the wall.
<<HOVER>>
Hover at an angle over the pit to collect the fourth rupee.
<<KOKIRI>>
Push the ice block nearest to the door behind the red ice towards the small ice
mound, and then into the hole in the ground. Push the other block towards each ice
mound, and then over to fill the little niche in the wall. Climb up and melt the
red ice to grab the final rupee and unlock the door. Exit the room and go grab
another dose of blue fire and head back. Now that the blocks are reset you can
push one up near the door, melt the ice and head in (kill the keese again if you
need to).
Fire a light arrow into the orb to dispell the water barrier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FIRE BARRIER
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Though it not nessesary, i strongly encourage you to use the hover boots during
this part, rolling hovers cover alot more ground than normal rolling jumps and
you'll need the distance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<<HOVER>> <<GORON>>
Jump onto the moving block and then jump onto the falling blocks afterward. The
upper-right will rise instead of fall, leading you to your first silver rupee. I
don't know if its a mess up with my game or a bug, but Link would not collect the
rupee for me by passing through it. Through about 2 hours of frustration i
realized i could collect it by equiping the hammer and quickly do 2 jump attacks
with it, and somehow i got the rupee.
Thanks to
[email protected], here's another alternative method of collecting
this troublesome rupee:
"I couldn't get this method (meaning mine above) to work very often unfortunately
(I tripped and fell into the lava around four times) but it did help me find the
solution: I soon discovered that the only 100% consistent method of achieving this
objective is by walking to one end of the block (keeping the rupee at your back),
holding down (L) and then back-flipping into the rupee at the height of the
block's ascent. I'm pretty sure it was an intentional part of the puzzle and not
a bug.. although it was very tricky, I must say."
Anyway after that jump onto the next moving block going up-down. Kill the beamos
from the platform and jump onto it when its safe. Lift the large granite pillar
out of your way to reveal rupee #2. Time your next jumps for when the moving gets
near you, you can jump onto it and off onto the block line there. Stop on the
second block after the moving one and it will rise instead of fall again. Take
your time and line up a shot onto the hookshot pillar and onto it. Hop down off
the pillar and onto the platform for rupee #3. Wait for another moving platform to
come near and jump onto it to grab rupee #4. Stun the torch slugs with your long
shot and jump on when its safe, then kill them. Lift the granite pillar out of
your way and it will make a step for the final rupee. After that hook back onto
the hookshot pillar and jump back onto the rising block. Carefully land a jump
onto the granite pillar in the lava to grab the final rupee, unlocking the door.
Hook over to it and go in, whew!
<<KOKIRI>>
Fire a light arrow through the orb to dispell the fire barrier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LIGHT BARRIER
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lift the large granite pillar to gain access to this barrier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kill the dinofos and 2 torch slugs to unlock the door and head in.
Unlock the door and head in. The triforce symbol here will only drop a chest
with a heart in it if you play zelda's lullaby.
Kill the beamos by throing a bombchu a little to the left of it so when it curves
it will connect. Hook up onto the place where it rested and jump down to unlock the
door and head in (beware of the boulder).
In this room, kill the skulltula on the left pillar of flame and then hit the
hidden switch inside the right pillar of flame to make the hidden white barrier
disappear. Use your lens to see what i mean. Walk through the wall into the true
orb room.
Fire an arrow through the orb to dispell the light barrier.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Now that you've dispelled all the barriers, get into ganon's tower, which is the
same as it was in the normal game, to beat Ganondorf and Ganon to beat the game.
CONGRADULATIONS, you've beaten the harder released version of Oot - the Master
Quest. Give yourself a pat on the back and thank me for helping you through.
Hope this guide was a help to all of you out there, please send feedback as it
will help with revisions/future realeases.
