1) Intro

Welcome to this Secrets FAQ for this awesome fighting game that
we call Super Smash Brothers! Not only is it a good fighting game with
cool objects, and cool places to play at, but it's you versus other various
Nintendo characters! Very cool.
Yes, I know there are lots of FAQs and Move Lists at GameFAQs already for
this game, and I am aware of all the character FAQs. Well, guess what?
There's not that many secret FAQs and this game has been out for over a
month
already!
The only thing that could improve this game is Wario being a character in
the game. Wario - I can't get enough of the guy.

lives in under twenty minutes. Then, defeat Captain Falcon. For the
Japanese version, beat the game with any character on any difficulty
setting and number of lives. Then, defeat Captain Falcon.
Play as Jigglypuff
Beat the game with any character on any difficulty setting and number of
lives. Then, defeat Jigglypuff. For the Japanese version, beat the game with
any character on any difficulty setting and number of lives in under twenty
minutes without continuing. Then, defeat Jigglypuff.
Play as Ness from Earthbound
Beat the game on the normal difficulty setting and three lives without
continuing. Then, defeat Ness.
Play as Luigi
Beat Bonus Game 1 "Break The Target" with the eight original
characters. This can be done during Bonus 1 practice. Then, defeat
Luigi. If you lose the match, complete Bonus 1 again with any character
for a rematch.
Mew in Pokeballs
Unlock all four bonus characters to have Mew appear randomly in the
Pokeballs.
================
GENERAL SECRETS
================
Classic Mushroom Kingdom stage
Beat the game with all eight original characters. Then the Classic
Mushroom Kingdom stage will be available under versus mode.
Sound test
Beat Bonus Games 1 and 2 with all characters, including the secret ones.
This can be done during Bonus 1 and 2 practice.
Control credits
Press one of the following buttons during the ending credits. Press
Analog-stick to change the angle and move the target. Press Start to
scroll faster, or to return to normal speed. Select a name with the target
and press A to view details about their work in the game. Press B to
pause or resume the scrolling.
Alternate costumes
At the character selection screen, press C-Left, C-Right, C-Up, or
C-Down.
Change character view
At the character biography screen, hold Z and press the Analog-stick.
Item switch menu
Play the game in versus mode at least fifty times to unlock an item switch
option. For the Japanese version, use any character to record one
hundred kills to unlock an item switch menu. Options on this menu
include toggling certain weapons and the frequency they appear.
Custom menu (Japanese version)
Battle 100 times with Yoshi vs. Kirby for multi-player options.
Extra points for each level
The following trick may be used to get an extra 100 points in each level.
Defeat your opponent in one player mode. Press L to taunt just before
he dies. If your character is in a taunt when the camera zooms in for the
scores, 100 points will be awarded for the fighter's stance.
Silphco stage secret
Begin a game with Captain Falcon on the Silphco stage. Then when
Chansey, Charmander or others pop out the door, use the Falcon Punch
to knock them spiraling away.
Samus without her suit
Unlock Ness, then select versus mode and choose Samus as your only
opponent. This trick is easier if Samus is set as a human controlled
player, so she stands still. Next, go to any place (preferably the ship) and
fire the PK Thunder at yourself, so Ness slides into Samus. Then right as
Ness hits her, pause the game. If done correctly, Samus will no longer be
wearing her suit.
Borrow a life
Begin a team game under versus mode. Then if you lose a life, press
Start to take a life from your partner.
Lose a power as Kirby
If you want to intentionally lose a power gained after eating another
character as Kirby, press L to execute his taunt.
===============
Pokemon Powers
===============
The Pokemon in the poke balls have these power:
Beedrill
Flies off to get the rest of its hive to attack the opponent.
Blastoise
Blasts opponent with water spray.
Chansey
Pops out and give you an item.
Charizard
Starts to breath fire in each direction.
Charmander
Just blows fire in one direction (only in Silphco stage).
Clefable
Arrives and mimics one of the other available Pokemon's attacks.
Goldeen
Flops around trying to hurt opponent.
Hitmonlee
Comes out and flies at the opponent doing a kick attack.
Koffing
Arrives and starts blasting foul smoke in the air.
Meowth
Pops out and showers out coins that hurt opponent.
Mew
The special secret 151st Pokemon makes his appearance and flies away.
Onix
Shows up, flies up top, and then boulders drop from the ceiling.
Porygon
Rams you or the opponent (only in Silphco stage).
Snorlax
Pops out, flies up, and then comes down huge, hurting your opponent.
Starmie
Finds opponent and blasts them with rays.
Venusaur
Razor Leaf attack; leaves from this Pokemon fly at opponents (only in
Silphco stage).

MISC. Secrets
=============
Here's an e-mail I received:
>>
if mew touches someone on his way up and out of the scene, it will hurt you.
I was playing multiplayer when mew came and hit link and he went flying!
also, i heard that if you beat the game on Very Hard, 3 stock, no continues,
you can get the following:
mario - metal mario
pikachu - raichu
jigglypuff - wigglytuff
dk - giant dk
i never beat it under those conditions with any of those characters, but you
might wanna give it a try. i am still trying to get metal mario. i dont know
if it works, i have seen raichu, but i have a good feeling it was the work
of gameshark, and if it was, i will find the code!
~Evil Clown (look for my Capt. Falcon FAQ if they post it)
<<
This is the e-mail rumor I received that got harsh criticism; here are
two people backing it up:
>>
sorry to say but i beat the game on very hard, 3 stock with mario.
and nothing happened ssooooooo these codes must be fake
There is no friggin' Raichu or Wigglytuff in the game at all! The only
thing that might be there is a GameShark code to dig up residue of unused
stuff, like Pokemon's infamous island with the truck. And Mew doesn't do
a thing, and people who say it hurts either a) is lying or b) was in a
totally hectic match and confused Pokeball damage for Mew damage.
<<
I merely rented this game about 4 times; don't get mad at me!
One more:
>>
To: whats your name
first name: Yusef
From:
[email protected] no last name given
I have almost beaten VERY HARD MODE with PIKACHU STOCK 3 If you e-mail me
when you get one of these secret characters Metal Mario, Giant DK,
Raichu especially and WigglyTuff Mentioned in your faq on Super Smash
Bros. it would be nice to know if it exists.

My name is The Crippler (well it's actually Steve, but) please be a
little bit more comprehensive... But if anyone can help this guy out
(what's his name again?) his e-mail address is there.
>>
I have just proven that " get raichu " is a total fake and would be in the
act of Gameshark
<<
Cool, thanks.
Alright, that e-mail rumor is 100% fake, I assure you; I've received
a nice load of e-mails telling me that he is a liar).
