IV. What Are Power Stars? (WAPS)
*******************************************************************************
What are they, you ask? They are the main power source of the castle. You
collect these in different worlds throughout the castle. All the stars have
tasks you need to complete in order to get them.

V. Why Collect Power Stars? (WCPS)
*******************************************************************************
You need to collect the power stars in order to get to some parts of the castle
and you also have to collect them if you want to get all the mini-games. While
some of the stars are easy to obtain, others are a pain to get.

Here I'll point out the location of all the stars you find throughout worlds.

Bob-Omb Battlefield Stars
*******************************************************************************
Star No.1
Big Bob-Omb on the Summit

As the name implies, the star is on the mountain summit guarded by King Bob-
Omb. From where you start, head straight. Cross the bridge, killing enemies in
your path. Take a left past the Chain Chomp. Go through the bridge, onto a
field with Bob-Ombs. When you see a sign, do as it says and take a right. You
will see a gate. Go through it. Ignore the sign you see and head straight to
the hill. Do not worry, you will get to the top of the hill with no trouble.
After that, turn to the right and watch out for cannonballs and tiny gaps. A
shorter way is to get in the tiny cave and you will get transported near the
summit. When you reach the top, you will be forced to fight King Bob-Omb.
Defeat him by lifting him from the back and throwing him into the ring 3 times.
After he is defeated he will blow up and the star will appear. Take it.

Star No.2
Footrace With Koopa the Quick

This star is easy, if you do everything said below. Head straight from where
you start, and you should see Koopa the Quick. He will challenge you to a race,
but you can beat him easily if you take the path you took to get to the summit
in the first star. You can even use the shortcut available in the tiny cave. Do
that and you will reach the summit in no time. When you do, touch the flag.
This will declare your victory. When Koopa the Quick reaches the summit, he
will hand over the star in surprise of your victory.

Star No.3
5 Silver Stars!

This time you have to get a total of 5 silver stars, hence the name, and they
are all in different set locations. Think of it as searching for red coins. Be
careful not to get hit if you collected at least one star, because if you do,
one of your stars will go away but you can chase it to get it. These are the
silver star locations:

Silver Star 1
From where you start, go straight until you find a tree next to the bridge.
Climb the tree and when you get to the top, jump and you should get your first
silver star.

Silver Star 2
Now, cross the bridge and go past the sign. You should see a Chain Chomp loose.
Grab The silver star in the tail. That makes 2 stars.

Silver Star 3
Go back but do not go down the bridge. Go past the place the Chain Chomp
originally was and cross the bridge. Instead of going through the stairs go a
little left and you will see 3 goombas. Kill the one that has the star, but
check your map to know which one is it. Take the star.

Silver Star 4
Now go back up the little stairs and go past the sign to find a patch of
flowers surrounded by coins. The star should be bouncing in the flowers.

Silver Star 5
Do as if you were going up to the summit, but stop when you see a pair of
goombas. Again, kill the one that has it, but of course check the map.

After you have all 5 of them head back to where you started and you should see
the star in a cage. Jump to break it and the star is yours.

Star No.4
Big Bob-Omb's Revenge

Once again, you have to fight King Bob-Omb for a star. Follow the same path as
in the first star until you reach the summit. Talk to King Bob-Omb for a fight.
There is no big difference, except that he does not bounce to hit you when you
throw him to the ring floor. Repeat the same process of your first fight with
him and you will defeat him, again. He will blow up again and you will receive
his last star.

Star No.5
Mario Wings to the Sky

First things first, to get this star, you must have the cannon open and the
wing cap available or you will never get this star. Go straight ahead past the
bridge, jump over the small fence, and run to the rock that looks like a tiny
mountain. Get on top of it and get inside the cannon. Aim yourself a little to
the left and all the way up. Shoot yourself and you should land on a little
floating island. Smash the !box and grab the feather that enables you the power
to fly. Instead of triple jumping, hop into the cannon and fire yourself at an
angle that you can get the middle coins from the coin rings. There are 5 in all
and after you get them, go to the area with 4 poles to get the star.

Star No.6
Find the 8 Red Coins

For this star you have to get 8 red coins for the star to appear. The locations
of the coins are these:

Red Coin 1
Go straight ahead but do not cross the bridge. Instead, go a little to the left
to find a pole with moving platforms. Take one of them, and when you see the
coin, jump to get it.

Red Coin 2
Just after that, run past the sign and run up the little hill with the coin on
it.

Red Coin 3
Backtrack a little and go to where the Chain Chomp is. You will see it attached
to a pole. On top of the pole is your third red coin.

Red Coins 4 and 5
Cross the bridge, but do not go up the stairs. Go a little left and you should
find 2 red coins close by.

Red Coin 6
Now go up the tiny stairs and do as the first sign says, but run past the
second and fall into a small passage. You should see the coin. Snag it.

Red Coin 7
Now go back up and go through the gate. Ignore the right path and go up the
hill. You will grab the coin quickly.

Red Coin 8
Follow the passage after you go up the hill. Keep going until you see a cannon
hole. Aim yourself to the tree and climb it. There you have your eight and
final coin.

After you have them all, go to the area where you found red coins 4 and 5 to
claim your star.

Star No.7
Behind Chain Chomp's Gate

Simple enough, head to where Chain Chomp is. You will see that he is attached
to a pole. Ground Pound the pole 3 times and Chain Chomp will become loose. He
will jump few times and then he will ram the gate allowing you to claim the
seventh and final star for this world.

Whomp's Fortress Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
Chip Off Whomp's Block

Just so you know, this is a huge tower fortress built by Whomp, hence the
world's name. Now, instead of going straight and taking the long path, double-
jump the wall to your left when standing on the ledge. Go up the ramp, and
follow the arrow on the floor. You will notice there is a piranha sleeping, so
do your best not to wake it up. Run over the breakable bridge, and go  through
a narrow bridge. Wait for the platform to reach you, and when you get on top of
it, stay on the middle part, otherwise the obstacle floating there will make
you fall. Exit the platform, follow the path, ignore the whomps, and get to a
pole with moving platforms. Take one of them and you will see the Whomp King.
Talk to him to battle. He is pretty simple to beat, just wait for him to try to
smash you, run away or you will receive damage, and ground pound him on the X
he has. Repeat 2 more times to beat him. After, he breaks into a million pieces
and gives you the star.

Star No.2
To the Top of the Fortress

Follow the same path you took to reach King Whomp, but when you reach the place
he was in, instead you will see a tall tower. Now you have to jump on the
platforms without falling to get to the top. Once you do, the star is yours.

Star No.3
Shoot Into the Wild Blue

This is easy, but you need to open the cannon first in order to do it.
Double-jump the wall to the left, but do not go up the ramp. Head to your left
to find a red bob-omb. Talk to him to open the cannon for you. Get inside the
cannon and shoot yourself to the visible platform to the front. If you landed
on the top part of the platform, use the pole to go down and grab the star.

Star No.4
Red Coins on the Floating Isle

You have to find red coins again for another star. Their locations are as
following:

Red Coin 1
Head straight from where you start to find 3 moving stone blocks. The middle
one has the coin you seek on top of it.

Red Coin 2
Fall directly to the right to find a small fence. Jump over it to find a gap.
Jump again and you will find a piranha sleeping. Go past the piranha, to find
yet another gap. After you jumped, you will find a bullet bill cannon and 2
brick blocks. Ignore them both and jump to find 3 poles. Go past the poles to
find your coin, but be careful not to get hit by the piranhas that appear.

Red Coin 3
Backtrack all the way to the start, and go past the moving stone blocks. Then,
you will find 3 platforms that move back and forth. Be careful not to fall or
say hello to death. After that, you will find 2 thwomps. Ignore the first one
and go to the second one. After it pounds, get on top of it by jumping and you
should see the coin on top of you.

Red Coin 4
Get off of the thwomp and go to the right. A piranha is guarding the coin. You
can get the coin quietly or you can kill and then get it. That is your fourth
coin.

Red Coin 5
Soon after that, you will find a breakable bridge. Ignore it, and sidestep in a
very narrow path with your coin.

Red Coin 6
When you get to the platform, do not get off of it. Wait for it to turn around
to grab the coin.

Red Coin 7
Go to King Whomp's tower but do not climb it. Instead, look around to find a
long pole of wood. Punch it, then punch it while jumping. The pole will fall
and you will see an arrow of coins pointing to the red coin.

Red Coin 8
Right after that, you will to jump over rotating platforms. After the second
one, the final coin is yours to take.

Once you get all of them, go back to the starting point to claim your star.

Star No.5
Fall Onto the Caged Island

Pretty easy if you ask me. All you have to do is go to the tree you see when
you start to find an owl. He will talk to you and let you ride his wings. Hold
the B button to hold on to his wings and fly until you can land on the floating
platform that looks like a cage. The star can be snagged now.

Star No.6
Blast Away the Wall

It could not get any easier than this. Go to where the cannon is and shoot
yourself to the border of the thin wall to the right. The wall will crack
allowing you to get the star.

Star No.7
Switch Star of the Fortress

You must have unlocked Mario to get this star. From where you start, head to
the right, but do not go up the ramp, and follow the path until you see a brick
block. Break it to reveal a switch. Step on it and take the path you used to
get to red coin 2 and take a left when you see the coin. If you got there in
time you should see the star in cage. Break it to get the last star for this
world.

Jolly Roger Bay Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
Plunder in the Sunken Ship

This stage is a bay with a sunken ship and a cave on the bottom of the bay with
treasure. Now to get this star you must make the eel stuck in the ship go free
and then enter the ship. To do that you must get as close as you can to the eel
and it will escape the ship. Now enter it. The ship will be flooded with water,
but hit the chest and the water will dry up. Now you must climb the platforms
until you get to the top platform. You will see a yellow !box. Break and the
star will come out.

Star No.2
Can the Eel Come Out to Play?

Head to the bay, but do not go to the cave. When you see the eel go to it and
it will go swimming again. Its tail has the star you seek. Touch it and then
swim to it again to get it.

Star No.3
Treasure in the Ocean Cave

Easy, just go to the bay and go deeper until you find the entrance to a cave.
Once you enter, pillars will try to smash you if you get too close. When you
get to the end of the small cave, you will see 4 treasure chests. Open them in
this order: Top, left, right, and down. The star will come out of the last
chest you opened.

Star No.4
Blast to the Stone Pillar

It is easy but you must have the cannon open. Head straight and to the right a
little until you find a red bob-omb. Talk to him to open the cannon. Get into
the cannon and you will see spike-like pillars. Shoot yourself to the one to
the far left. Climb it and when you reach the top, jump to the platform with
the star on it.

Star No.5
Red Coins on the Ship Afloat

Coins, coins, coins. You must get 8 red coins to get this star. The locations
are as following:

Red Coin 1
Next to where the red bob-omb is, there is a spike-like pillar. Climb it to get
it.

Red Coin 2
Now throw yourself into the bay, not the deep part. The shallowest part has a
clam. Get close to it and it will reveal the coin. Snag it.

Red Coin 3
Now head to the left to find 2 clams. One of them has a koopa shell, the other
has the third coin.

Red Coin 4
Now look to the right and to see yet another clam with a coin. Take it.

Red Coin 5
After that, head to the deep part of the bay to find a clam with another coin.

Red Coin 6
Backtrack to the part where the bob-omb was, but climb the other platform this
time. Now press the !switch and carefully get to the ship. On the ship's deck
is the coin you seek.

Red Coins 7 and 8
Now jump your way to the top part of the ship where you will find your last 2
coins.

After you have them, the star will appear in front of you.

Star No.6
Switch Star of the Bay

You must have unlocked Luigi for this star. As Luigi, head to the cave to find
a switch. Before pressing it, grab a power flower to turn invisible. Now press
it quickly and run to the star. Break the cage and it is yours.

Star No.7
Through the Jet Stream

You must have unlocked Wario to get this star. As Wario head to the cave and
grab a power flower. Run back to the stream that has the star. Since you are
metallic, the stream will not take you up. Snag the star to complete this
world.

Cool, Cool Mountain Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
Slip Slidin' Away

Simple, just go into a hole on top of a platform near the start and you will
fall into a racetrack. You do not have race anyone for now, just complete the
track and the star is yours.

Star No.2
Li'l Penguin Lost
This one is kind of a doozy to get, but it is easy if you do exactly what it
says here. Ignore the tiny house but do not slide the mountain yet. Grab the
baby penguin near the house and slide down with him. When you see a ledge to
your right, jump on it. You will possibly land where the mother is. If not then
take the baby to his mother and she will give the star.

Star No.3
Big Penguin Race

Go down the chimney of the house to find a big penguin waiting for someone to
race with him. Challenge him and if you beat him without taking the hidden
shortcut, he will give you the star as a prize.

Star No.4
Frosty Slide for 8 Red Coins

You must be Yoshi to get one of the coins. Again, you must get the 8 red coins
as usual. These are the locations of the coins:

Red Coin 1
Climb the house until you find a block of ice. Using Yoshi, use your tongue to
get fire nearby, then exhale it at the ice. The coin is yours.

Red Coin 2
Now slide down until you see a ledge. Jump on it, and go to a broken bridge.
Long jump to the other side to get the second coin.

Red Coin 3
Go straight until you find a bridge with jumping snowmen cross the bridge, go
left, then slowly go left again for the coin.

Red Coin 4
Now go past the head of a snowman to find another coin.

Red Coin 5
Cross the bridge again and go down the stairs. Watch out for enemies and follow
the path of the stairs, get off the stairs and look for a tree with snow on it.
The coin is on top of the tree.

Red Coin 6
Now go back as if you were going to the stairs but go past them. You will find
a bridge to your left leading you to another coin. Take it.

Red Coin 7
Get out of that platform and go back. Go to your left to find the coin close to
the border of the stage.

Red Coin 8
Go back to the top of the mountain, and as Yoshi, inhale fire again from the
same place and down until you see an icy slope. When you get to the area below
the slope, exhale the fire at the ice cube. That is your final coin.

After you have them, cross the bridge with snowmen on it and take the next
bridge. Long jump to the other side of the broken bridge for the star.

Star No.5
Snowman's Lost His Head

This is easy, all you have to do is talk with the small body of the snowman,
let it chase you and when you reach the snowman's head, stay behind it. In a
few moments, the body will be large and will join with the head to make a body.
The snowman will then give you the star in gratitude.

Star No.6
Mario's Super Wall Kick

If you want to get this star you must have patience and skill.
First of all, head to where the mother penguin is. You will see a lift nearby.
Take it and when you see a small platform, get on it. Talk to the bob-omb you
see to open the cannon. Long jump to where the big penguin is, but take the
cannon. Aim yourself to the tree in front of you and shoot. Follow the path
without falling until you see an arrow of coins. Long jump to the other side
and wall kick your way up until you see an icy path. Cross it carefully and you
should be able to get the star.

Star No.7
Switch Star of Cool, Cool Mountain

You must have unlocked Wario for this star. As Wario, go to where the red bob-
omb is to find a !switch. Press and long jump to the ice puddle. Ground pound
it and you should break it. Now touch the cage and the final star for this
world is yours.

Big Boo's Haunt Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
Go on a Ghost Hunt

This place is the haunt of Big Boo. It has a lot of ghosts and other types of
enemies. For this star you must eliminate all the ghosts inside the mansion,
not the basement. Once you do that, you must fight Big Boo. You can kill him
easily, like when you entered the place. After he has been beaten the stairs
will rise so you can get the star.

Star No.2
Ride Big Boo's Merry-Go-Round

Easy, just go to the basement, and keep going until you find a house of some
sort. Enter it and you will find a merry-go-round with ghosts. Kill them all,
then fight Big Boo again. Kill him for the star.

Star No.3
Secret of the Haunted Books

All right, you have to go to the library at the second floor of the mansion.
Now, follow the path without getting hit by possessed books and you will see 3
books sticking out of place at the end of the path. Hit them in this order:
Top, bottom, and middle. A doorway should open giving you access to the star.

Star No.4
Seek the 8 Red Coins

Find the 8 red coins for the star. The locations are these:

Red Coin 1
Head to first room on your left to find a piano beside the red coin. Grab it
fast or the piano will try to eat you.

Red Coins 2 and 3
Head into the room inside the room with the piano to find a small library with
2 shelves with books. On top of both of them is 1 red coin.

Red Coin 4
Now exit through the door in front of you, ignore the first door you pass, and
head into the second door and follow the path without falling. If you fall do
not worry. You will land on water that is in the basement. Go through the door
to find a narrow path. Go through it to find the fourth coin. Exit via the door
to the right.

Red Coin 5
Now go up the stairs head into the room on the far right keep going until you
find the coin.

Red Coin 6
Exit through that door to find yourself on a small platform with a ?box. Smash
to get a power flower. Float as Mario to the ceiling to find the next coin.

Red Coin 7
Now go to the room just right of the top of the stairs to find an eye. Ignore
it and go into the next part of the room to find 6 coffins. Stand on top of
them to make them open. One of them has the coin.

Red Coin 8
Now exit that room and go into the one left of that one. You will find yourself
on top of red bars. Near the wall is the last coin.

After you have them, exit the room to find the star nearby.

Star No.5
Big Boo's Balcony

Go into the mansion and go up the stairs. Go to the rightmost room, and you
will find a ledge. Get on top of it. Now use a wall kick to get on a higher
ledge. Go through the door to find yourself in the top floor. Ignore the Luigi
painting for now and exit through a door like the one on the entrance to get on
the balcony. You will have to fight Big Boo. Defeat him and the star will
appear on the roof. Use the power flower nearby to float to the roof and get
the star.

Star No.6
Eye to Eye in the Secret Room

You must have unlocked Luigi to get this star. Take the same path you took to
reach the balcony, but as Luigi. When you go to the second floor's rightmost
room, grab a power flower and make a triple jump to the upper ledge since he
cannot wall kick. Enter the room and keep going the way he is facing to find a
portrait of a boo shielding his eyes. Jump while invisible to get in and you
will see a big eye enemy. When you are visible again, wait for the eye to catch
you, then circle him a few times until he cannot stop rolling his eye and then
vanish. There is your star.

Star No.7
Switch Star in the Basement

You must have unlocked Wario to get this star. As Wario, head to the basement
and keep going until you find a black brick block. Break it to reveal a switch.
Press it and always long jump when possible or you will never make it. If you
do get there in time, break the cage for the last star of this world.

Hazy Maze Cave Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
Swimming Beast in the Cavern

You must have unlocked Wario to get this star. As Wario, take the left path and
long jump to the other side. Now long jump to the black block, but ignore it.
Keep going to find falling rocks. Dodge them and follow the path. You will find
a door. Go through it. You will find some coins, a !block, and a platform. Take
the coins if you want, but you must get on the platform. Ride it down to find a
secret cave. Get into the water and then get on the platform in the water.
Smash the rock to find the star. Take it.

Star No.2
Elevate for 8 Red Coins

As you start take the right path and you will find a door at the end of the
path. Jump to get to it. Now you will find yourself in an elevator room. There
are 8 red coins in here. The locations are as following:

Red Coin 1
Take the right path to a door. Slide down a pole and head right to find some
stairs and a red bob-omb. Get on top of the platform and go forward. You will
see a purple pole. Slide it up. Take the checkered lift until you come to a red
block. Smash it for red coin 1.

Red Coin 2
Just after that, coin 2 will be in front of you. Take it without falling.

Red Coin 3
A little later, you will find red coin 3 on top of a small ledge. Jump to get
it.

Red Coins 4 and 5
Wait for the lift to get close to an upcoming ledge to find 2 red coins
together.

Red Coin 6
Let the lift take you back to where you started, and jump down to the platform
with directional arrows. Go to the right to find a giant rock. As you go
towards it, go to the right so the platform fits between both the wall and the
rock. Go directly again, and when you get to a platform with grass, head to the
left to find a floating box. Ignore it and get to the ledge beyond it for the
coin.

Red Coin 7
Go to the left of the ledge on the platform to find a huge rock again. To the
left of the rock is an eyeball enemy. Go to it and steer the platform under the
pipe. Behind the eyeball is a box. Break it for the coin.

Red Coin 8
Head to the right of the eyeball to find yet another box with the last coin.

After you have them all, take the star that is in the floor.

Star No.3
Metal-Head Wario Can Move

You now the deal, you need Wario again to get this star. Now go to the secret
cave where the swimming beast was, but when you finish riding the platform,
grab a power flower and run to the water. Go left as get in the water to find a
purple !switch. Press it to open a red gate. Go through the door and be careful
not to fall in any of the pits. At the end is your star.

Star No.4
Navigating the Toxic Maze

If you want to do this the very easy way, you must have unlocked Luigi.
Otherwise, you will have to take the very hard way, even though it really is
not hard, it is just long. If you have Luigi, ride the platform to the secret
cave and grab a power flower. Go back up the platform and go past the red gate
to easily claim the star.

Star No.5
A-Maze-Ing Emergency Exit

Take the left path as you start and go through the door. Take a right
immediately when you enter. Follow the path to a door. It will take you to a
platform. Ride it down. Follow the path and at the end, go left immediately. Go
through the first entrance you see to find a door. Enter it and you will coins
and a hole. Take coins if you need them and then take the hole. You will land
in poisonous area. You must take this path in order to reach the star: Right,
left, left, right, left, left, right, left, and right to find a door on top o a
ledge. Go through it and follow the path until in the end of the path, a
platform comes down. Ride it up to find a door leading you to red hanging bars.
You must keep the B button pressed if you want to hold on to the bars and get
the star. Once you do the star is yours.

Star No.6
Watch Out for Falling Rocks

You must have unlocked Wario to get this star. As Wario, take the left path and
go through the door. Smash the black block you see to your left for a red
mushroom. Eat to get big and stand in front of the rocks to smash them. You do
not have to punch them, just stay still. When you break at least 4, the star
will pop out of the rock for you to take.

Star No.7
Underground Switch Star

Wario again. You need him to get yet another star. As Wario, take the right
path. Go through the door and fall to the floor. Search for a black block and
when you do, smash it. It will reveal a !switch. Press it and now look for
stairs. When you find them, go up and long jump to the cage where the star is
to claim the last star for this world.

Lethal Lava Land Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
Boil the Big Bully

A gigantic pool of lava. It is very hard to get through this place without
getting roasted. From where you start, look back to find a platform. Long jump
to it to find a ?box. Smash for a feather. Use to fly to a platform with a big
bully enemy. Make him get into the lava for the star. Jump the platforms to get
it.

Star No.2
Bully the Bullies

Do the same thing you did for star 1, but this time fly to a platform with many
bully enemies. Get them into the lava to fight another big bully enemy. Kill
him for the star.

Star No.3
8-Coin Puzzle With 15 Pieces

Again, go to the platform with the ?box and fly to a nearby platform with
moving Bowser pieces. The locations are as following:

Red Coins 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8
All the coins are in the Bowser-making platforms.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you have the coins the star will appear in the corner of the platforms.

Star No.4
Red-Hot Log Rolling

Yet again, go to the platform with the ?box and fly to the right until you see
a fence in front of you. Go to the other side of the fence to find your star.

Star No.5
Hot-Foot-It the Volcano

Platform time, again. Fly to a small volcano and look for the entrance on its
crater. Take the path you see in front of you. Do not fall into the lava or
experience a fiery death. When you get to the end of the path be careful not to
fall and get the star.

Star No.6
Inside the Volcano

Go into the volcano again, but take the other path this time. At the end of the
path is your star.

Star No.7
Flaming Silver Stars

Get on the platform again to start flying. The star locations are as following:

Right where you start flying, to the left will be your first star.

Silver Star 2
Keep heading straight to find another small platform with another star. Take
it.

Silver Star 3
Now head to the right, go straight to find yet another platform with a star.

Silver Star 5
Now head to the right, again, to find the last star.

Shifting Sand Land Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
In the Talons of the Big Bird

This place is a giant desert with many quick sands, pits, and many other
dangers. This is easy, just fly as if you were going to the pyramid, but look
for a bird holding a star. Touch the star to make it fall then grab it.

Star No.2
Shining Atop the Pyramid

Another easy star. Fly to the top of the pyramid, but not the actual top. Fly
instead to the top accessible part which is a very small alcove to find the
star.

Star No.3
Inside the Ancient Pyramid

Fly to the pyramid and enter it by the main entrance. Take the right path and
when you see a thwomp-like enemy, jump on it, turn to the other way, and keep
following the path until the end. The star is waiting for you at the end of the
path.

Star No.4
Stand Tall on the Four Pillars

Look around the desert to find a total of 4 pillars. Fly to them and stand on
top of all of them at least once. You will here a chime. Look towards the
pyramid to find its top blown off. Fly to the new entrance. You will be in an
elevator that goes down. After it stops, break the block you see and go through
the small path to find ruins. Stand on top of the coffin you see to find bricks
form into hands. You have to fight both of them to get the star. Kill them by
punching them in their eye when you have the chance. After they are defeated,
claim your star.

Star No.5
Tox Box Switch Star

You must have unlocked Wario to get this star. Head to the metal block maze as
Wario. To make your life easier, let the metal boxes catch you in their only
opening, and when they do, give them a good whack with your punch to clear your
path. Now go to where the cannon is to find a black block. Smash it to unveil a
switch. Press it and use the warp in the square block right after the one with
a ?box. Run to break the cage and get the star.

Star No.6
Pyramid Puzzle

Fly into the pyramid again, but not the top entrance. To get this star you must
find all 5 silver stars. These are the locations:

Silver Star 1
This star is on the second highest platform in the pyramid. Grab it.

Silver Star 2
Now drop down to find it in a smaller platform to the right of the falls.

Silver Star 3
Drop to the left of the falls to find it. Take it.

Silver Stars 4 and 5
Fall in the sand current and follow it to take you to the last 2 stars.

After you collected the stars, the star will appear at the end of the current.
Break the cage to get it.

Star No.7
Free Flying for Red Coins

Get the red coins in the desert for the star. The locations are these:

Red Coin 1
From where you start, go back to find a coin in the distance. Grab it without
falling into the sand.

Red Coin 2
Backtrack and keep going until you find 2 red blocks. Ignore the first one and
hit the second block to find the coin.

Red Coin 3
Head to the metal block maze and as soon as you enter, take a left to find the
coin in front of you.

Red Coin 4
At the end of the maze, you will find an oasis with the coin in it. Grab it for
the fourth coin.

Red Coins 5, 6, 7, and 8
Now start flying on top of a pillar to find the rest of the coins in the air.

After you have them, head to where you found the second coin and get on top of
the platform to find the star.

Dire, Dire Docks Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
Board Bowser's Sub

From where you start, head deep down until you find a path to Bowser's sub.
Follow the path and when you get to the end, go up to find his sub. The star is
on the sub. To get it, look for a !switch that spawns red blocks. Climb them to
get on the sub and get the star.

Star No.2
Chests in the Current

Go down as you begin and hit the bottom to find 3 chests. Hit them in the right
order for the star to pop out of the last chest you opened. Beware because if
you are not fast the vortex will swallow you.

Star No.3
Pole-Jumping for Red Coins

Again, grab the red coins for the star. These are the locations:

Red Coin 1
Go to where Bowser's sub was and hit the !switch. Head back a little to find a
stairway made of blocks. Jump it to find your first coin.

Red Coins 2, 3, and 4
Take the pole to the left and let it take you through 3 red coins.

Red Coin 5
Let the pole take you back and take the other pole. When you get to the
platform, take the pole to the left. Get to the platform and take the next pole
you see. The coin will be in a caged platform. But you will be fine since that
is the only entrance. Take the coin.

Red Coin 6
Take the 2 poles back to where the shady star is and take the other pole. When
you get to another pole, jump to it and let it take you to the next coin.

Red Coins 7 and 8
Now get off the pole when you are on the platform nearby. Wait for the pole
behind the bars align with you and jump to it. Let it take you to the last 2
coins.

After all of them are in your possession, go back to where the shady star was
to get the star.

Star No.4
Through the Jet Stream

You must have unlocked Wario to get this star. As Wario, head to where Bowser's
sub was and look for a power flower. After you have one, get in the water to
find a current. Stay in the middle of the current until 5 rings go through you.
Once they do, the star will appear right where you are.

Star No.5
Koopa Surfin' Switch Star

Again, you need Wario. As Wario, head to a ledge right in front of you. Smash
all the blocks until you find a !switch. Now smash the !block to find a shell.
Press the switch and get on the shell fast to get the star on the opposite side
of that ledge. Break the cage and the star is yours.

Star No.6
Inside the Cage

You must have unlocked Luigi for this star. As Luigi, head to where Bowser's
sub was to find a star behind a red bar gate under the water. Go up and look
for a power flower. When you get one, go to the gate and swim through it to get
your star.

Star No.7
The Manta Ray's Reward

As you start, go a little deep down until you find a manta ray. It will make
rings as it goes and you have to go through 5 of the rings before they
disappear. If you go through them, The star will appear. Take it for the last
star in this world.

Snowman's Land Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
Snowman's Big Head

From where you start, go to the right and now follow the path. When you see a
pen with goombas, head to the left and you will find a pond with cold water. At
the fork, head to the left and get on top of the ledge in front of you. Now
keep going up until you see a penguin. Get on top of its head and let it take
you to the other side of the path or the snowman will blow you off and you will
lose your cap. After you crossed the path, keep going and you will find the
star.

Star No.2
Chill With the Bully

Head to the right as you start. When you get to the goomba pen, head to the
left to find an ice platform with an ice bully. Get him into the cold water to
get the star from him.

Star No.3
Yoshi's Ice Sculpture

You must be Yoshi to get this star. As Yoshi, look around for a power flower
and when you have one, head back to the ice sculpture and exhale fire to the
ice block the star is in. Climb the ice blocks to get the star.

Star No.4
To make this easy, come as Luigi. Head to the right, go left in the goomba pen,
and when you get to the fork, head straight but stand in the border and do a
backflip which will result in you spinning. Go to the ledge where you will find
2 !blocks. Smash the one to the left to find the star.

Star No.5
Snowman's Silver Star

Grab the silver stars which are in these places to get the star:

Silver Star 1
Head to the right and keep going until you see it.

Silver Star 2
Now head to the left to find the freezing pond to find a star, but ignore that
one for now. Head straight to find the next star.

Silver Star 3
Go left and whirl to the ledge where star 4 is. Smash the right block to find a
shell. Ride it and you should find the star nearby.

Silver Star 4
Keep riding it to the edge of the ledge and watch out for popping snowmen to
find the fourth star.

Silver Star 5
Remember the freezing pond? Go to it to find the last silver star while riding
the shell.

After you have all the stars, go to where you started to find the star.

Star No.6
Into the Igloo

Head to the right, then head left in the goomba pen, and in the fork, whirl to
the ledge to get a koopa shell. Ride it to a line of coins near the fork to get
into the igloo as Luigi. Look for a power flower and when you have one, go to
the entrance of the igloo to go through the floor and get the star.

Star No.7
Red Coins in the House

Get into the igloo to find red coins inside. The locations are:

Red Coin 1
In the platform in front of you when you enter, do a backwards somersault to get
the coin.

Red Coin 2
Head to the right and jump to another platform to get the next coin.

Red Coin 3
Follow the platform's path until you get to the second corner. Drop off the
platform to get the third coin.

Red Coin 4
Now jump on the platform again and grab the coin in front of you.

Red Coin 5
Jump to the left and fall in the water. Swim around to find the coin.

Red Coin 6
Now backtrack to the platform where you found red coin 4 and jump to the right.
Do a backward somersault to get the coin.

Red Coin 7
Now jump to find a coin nearby. Take it.

Red Coin 8
Go to the right to find the last coin in the air.

Star No.1
Shocking Arrow Lifts!

This is one heck of a complicated world where you have to be playing with water
level switches. First of all, get the water into a medium level. Then look for
a wooden platform in front of where you started to find some small arrowed
lifts. Take them to get to the !block. Smash it to get the star you are looking
for.

Star No.2
Top O' the Town

Get the water into a medium level and go up the ramp near the start of the
stage. You will see a wooden platform. Double-jump to the ledge nearby and go
to the left. You will see a purple bob-omb. Avoid it and get on top of the
plank. Walk through it carefully and jump on the platforms. At the last
platform you will see the star. Snag it.

Star No.3
5 Secrets in the Shallows & Sky

To get this star you must do 5 things in order for the star to appear. First
get the water to the lowest level possible and get to the ledge near the start.
Keep following the path until you get to a box. Push it inside to find secret
1. Then go a little to the left until you find another box. Push it to find
secret 2 and at the same time align it so you can smash the !block. Smash the
!block to find secret 3. Now go up the ramp near the start and go straight
until you find a pillar. Get on top of it and smash the !block for secret 4.
Now go to the left of the left of the top of the ramp. Hit a !switch to
activate blocks. Climb them to find a !block. Smash it for secret 5. Now get
the water to a medium level and go to the wooden platform near the start of the
stage to get the star.

Star No.4
Express Elevator-Hurry Up!

Get the water to the lowest level and head to the place where you found secret
5 for star 3. Stand on the platform to the left and get off of it as soon as it
starts going down. Go in the entrance right next to where you land and when the
elevator gets there, wall kick to the platform. Let it take you to the top and
grab the star.

Star No.5
Go to Town for Red Coins

Start by flooding the place and go to the fenced pipe near the start of the
stage. Swim until you get to the end of it. Go right down when you exit to find
a switch that lowers the water level. Get the red coins in town for the star.

Red Coin 1
Once you do that, go to the right to find a house. Hit the !switch to make a
red block appear. Now get on top of the house. You will see a red block. Smash
it to get the coin. Jump off.

Red Coins 2 and 3
Now, in front of the house is a plaza. You will see thin walls on both sides
with red blocks. Go the top of the left wall to smash the block and get the
coin. Now do the same thing on the opposite side of the wall you are on.

Red Coin 4
Now go to a ledge inside the plaza. Break the red block there for the coin.

Red Coin 5
Double-jump to a steeple behind that block to get the next coin.

Red Coin 6
Get off the steeple and go to the right to find a power flower. Get it and
float to the house to the right to find a red block with a red coin it. Take
it.

Red Coin 7
Long jump to the house next to that one to find another red block with a coin.

Red Coin 8
Go to the left of the steeple to find a stand with 2 trees. Get to the top of
one of the trees to get on top of the house. Break the red block to find the
last red coin.

After you have them all, head to the bottom of the steeple to find the star.

Star No.6
Quick Race Through Downtown

You must have unlocked Luigi for this star. Go to the town with the red coins
and go to the right side of the steeple to get a power flower. Run to the left
of the steeple and go through the fence once you get the power flower. Triple-
jump to the top ledge to find the star.

Star No.7
Soaked Silver Stars

First of all, get the water to a medium level. To get the star you must find
the silver stars. These are the locations:

Silver Star 1
From where you start, head under the ramp to find your first star. Easy, right?

Silver Star 2
Head back to the platform that you landed when you started and get on the wooden
bridge next to that. Follow the path and hit the !switch. Jump on the wooden
platforms without falling to get the next star.

Silver Star 3
Now get the water to a medium-high level and get on the wooden platform to the
left and get on a second platform to get the star.

Silver Star 4
Get on the cannon and aim to the platforms just before star 2 of this world to
find it in the air. Shoot yourself to get it.

Silver Star 5
Now get the water to the lowest level and go below the wooden bridge to find 3
red blocks. One of them has the silver star.

After you have them, get the water to the highest level possible and get the
star in a platform near where you got silver star 3.

Tall, Tall Mountain Stars
*******************************************************************************

Star No.1
Scale the Mountain

Really easy, just climb the mountain to get the star. In the first 2 gaps, use
long-jump. You will find many mushroom pillars. Ignore them and keep going
straight. You will find many platforms you can get on. Again, go past them to
find bob-ombs. Avoid getting exploded on and go on to find a narrow bridge
guarded by a purple bob-omb. Do not let it get you and go through the bridge.
Carefully jump to the ledges and then go to the right to find a rotating log.
Long-jump to the ledge to find rolling cannonballs. Dodge them to find 3
goombas. Ignore them and long-jump to the ledge far ahead. You will see a
cloud. Do not let it blow you off the mountain or you will have to climb it all
over again. Now keep going to find a row of coins leading you to a secret path
but do not go in there now. Go on to find a grassy area that you cannot jump
too high. Cross it to find a thin path. Follow to the top of the mountain to
claim your star.

Star No.2
Mystery of the Monkey Cage

Meh, consider this star as an easter gift. When you start, head to the tree
nearby to see an owl. Let him take you to the mountaintop and you will find a
monkey. Once you catch him, he will give you one of 2 options. Choose the first
one and follow him to a cage with a star in it. When you get there, he will
make the cage go down so land where the it landed and there is your star.

Star No.3
Scary 'Shrooms, Red Coins

Get the coins in the mountain to get the star. The locations of the coins are
these:

Red Coin 1
Right after the first 2 gaps you will see a mushroom with a coin on it.

Red Coin 2
Jump 2 mushrooms ahead for the second coin.

Red Coin 3
The next mushroom has the coin.

Red Coin 4
Jump to a mushroom in front and a little right of you to get the coin.

Red Coin 5
Now, exit that area and go ahead until you find an area where you can climb
platforms. Jump on the first one to the left and a second one to get on a third
one right next to the second with the coin.

Red Coin 6
Get on the second platform and jump to the left to get on a platform with a
coin.

Red Coin 7
Then, get on the ledge to the right to see another platform with a red coin.

Red Coin 8
Now get on the ledge to the right and then the one to the left and get on a
platform to the right with your last red coin.

After you have them, head to the bottom of the area where you found red coins
4-8 to find a mushroom with the star.

Star No.4
Mysterious Mountainside

First, go to where the cloud trying to blow you off the mountain is. Near the
cloud you should spot a row of coins leading you to a wall. The wall is
actually the entrance to the mountainside. Jump to it like a painting you jump
in to get into a world. You will find a slide once you enter. When you get to
an arrow indicating to go to the right, do so or if not you will fall into your
doom. Now it gets a little harder with the pits around this part. When you get
to the end of the path, you will find a hole. Go in to it to find yourself in
the top portion of where you start. The star is right next to where you land.

Star No.5
Blast to the Lonely Mushroom

Just go straight up the mountain until you get to the part with the purple bob-
omb. Go past the bridge onto a ledge but instead of jumping to the next, fall
to find a hidden ledge with a bob-omb. Talk to him to open the cannon, and then
go back to where the mushroom pillars were to find a warp in one of them. It
will take you to a ledge in the lower part of the mountain. Now follow the path
until you get to the cannon. Fire yourself to the mushroom pillar with the star
to get it.

Star No.6
5 Secrets of the Mountain

Go to the top of the mountain via the owl in the tree near the start, and you
will find a ?block with a feather for wings. Use it to fly through the middle
coins in rings of coins in the air. Collect all 5 of the coins to make the star
appear. Snag it.

Star No.7
Breathtaking View from the Bridge

You must have unlocked Wario for this star. As Wario, go to the bridge made of
rock near the top of the mountain to find another bridge at the end of it to
the left. Follow the path to find a black wall you can smash with Wario. Smash
it to get the star.
