First a little info about me. My real name is not important, so call me just
Matty or MattyXB. English is not my first language. So please don't stomp on me
or throw eggs when I made a mistake in grammar or other errors.
This is my 3rd FAQ, so it looks not good like other FAQs. And I don't write so
much other things, because my english is not so good, so I write only
important things in the FAQ and not things, which you can find too in many
other FAQs from this game or in the manual.
This is an Ending FAQ, because I have read the Mario Series Ending FAQ on
GameFAQs, but see that there are many more endings possible as listed there.
So I have make a FAQ myself only from this game.

1. 150 or only 80-149 Stars
There are 2 different endings, which has something to do about how many Stars
you own.
When you own all Stars there is a different ending as when you not own all.
I think this is well known.
a. 150 Stars = Bowser say something about the 150 Stars
- You see the Big Fat Penguin at the Ending
- You can now Race against the Big Fat Penguin in Stage 4 Star 3
b. 80-149 Stars = Bowser say something different
- You see the normal Big Penguin at the Ending
- You can only race against the normal Big Penguin

2. Characters at the Ending, Free them or not
There are 4 different endings, which has something to do about the characters
you have free in the game. You see these characters at the ending and on the
Cake.
I think this is well known.
There are some Stage differents too, when you free characters or not.
See Section 6. Stage differents when free Character for these differents.
When you own 150 Stars, you see only ending c. Because for 150 Stars you must
free all.
a. Free Mario = You see only Mario and Yoshi at the Ending with Peach and on
the Cake
b. Free Mario & Luigi = You see Mario, Luigi and Yoshi at the Ending and on
the Cake
c. Free Mario, Luigi & Wario = You see all 4 characters at the Ending and on
the Cake
d. Free Mario & Wario = This can be done with the Mirror Glitch where you can
enter the mirror as anyone. (GigaBowserNS & godamit)
Mirror Glitch:
Go to the mirror room on the second floor, now go to the right of the mirror
and start long jumping in the space where the pillar and wall meet. Find the
point where your character will be shot up the wall then keep jumping until
you go through. This can be used to unlock Wario before Luigi.

3. Drain the Moat or Not
There are 2 different endings, which has something to do if you Drain the Moat
or not. You will see it in the ending, when you have done it or not.
When you own 150 Stars, you see only ending a. Because you must Drain the Moat
the get all Stars. See Section 7 for a guess to see ending b. with 150 Stars.
a. You have Drain the Moat = You will see no Water anymore at the End
b. You have not Drain the Moat = The Water is still there at the End

4. Stage differents with Stars
Sometimes you can see differents in the Stages, when you have get a Star or
not. Here a list, what I have see, what I guess and what I hear from other
Users.
When you own 150 Stars, you see always only the endings a. Because you own
every Star.
See a guess about the Stage 9 Star 1 in Section 7.
Stage 2: Whomp's Fortress - Star 2: To the Top of the Fortress
a. You have done this Star = You see a grey Star on the Top of the Fortress
b. You don't have this Star = You see a yellow Star on the Top of the Fortress
(Guess)
Stage 3: Jolly Roger Bay - Star 1: Plunder in the Sunken Ship
a. You have done this Star = You see Unagi the eel at the Ending
b. You don't have this Star = You will not see Unagi the eel at the Ending
(peteyboo)
Stage 4: Cool, Cool Mountain - Star 5: Snowman's Lost His Head
a. You have done this Star = The Snowman has his Body and is very happy
b. You don't have this Star = The Snowman has only his head and is very unhappy
Stage 10: Snowman's Land - Star 1: Snowman's Big Head
a. You have done this Star = You see a grey Star on the Snowman head
b. You don't have this Star = You see a yellow Star on the Snowman head (Guess)

5. Stage differents when activate the ?-Block
There are 2 different endings, when you activated the ?-Block or not.
When you have activated the ?-Block you see in some Stages the ?-Block solid.
When not you see the ?-Block, that this is not solid.
a. Activated the ?-Block = You see a solid ?-Block in the Stages listed below
b. Not Activate the ?-Block = You will see a not solid ?-Block in these Stages

Stage 5: Big Boo's Haunt - Big Boo's Balcony
Stage 6: Hazy Maze Cave - Behind the Waterfall
Stage 11: Wet-Dry World - In the Background
Stage 15: Rainbow Ride - On the flying Ship

6. Stage differents when free Character
When you have free characters some Stages are different. It a small different.
You see the Caps from the characters in the Stages.
When you own 150 Stars, you see only ending a. Because you must free all to
get all Stars.
Stage 11: Wet-Dry World - Free Wario or Not
a. You have free Wario = You see a Goomba at the back with a Wario Cap
b. You have not free Wario = You see a Goomba without Wario Cap (Guess)

7. Possible maybe with Tricks or Glitches (Guess)
150 Stars and not Drain the Moat
Get on the Castle Top with Wario. Get the Power Flower and open the entrance to
The Secret Under the Moat. Then you can maybe get the 2 Stars there and get 150
Stars without Drain the Moat.
Update: Not possible, because there is a gate infront of the entrance when you
have not Drain the Moat.
Stage 9: Dire, Dire Docks - Star 1: Board Bowser's Sub (LoZKing)
See a yellow Star here.
Normaly you must get this Star to open the entrance to Bowser in the Fire Sea,
but someone has say, that he has done it to skip this Star by jumping trough
the water into the Bowser entrance. So maybe its possible, that you will see
then a yellow Star here.

8. Mix Endings
You can mix the endings a bit. So there are many possible endings in this game.
Not sure what is the complete ending counter.
Maybe:
150 Stars = 1 Ending (maybe 2)
Not 150 Stars = 192 Endings ? (maybe *2 =384)
3 Characters * 2 Drain the Moat * 2 Stage 2 * 2 Stage 3 * 2 Stage 4 * 2 Stage 10
* 2 ?-Block = 192

9. Questions which you maybe have
Q: What means (Guess) behind a different ending.
A: Sometimes I have not try it, so I guess that this is different. For example
I have always get Stage 10: Snowman's Land - Star 1: Snowman's Big Head. So I
am not 100% sure if you see a yellow Star, when you don't get this one. Maybe I
try it later.
Or I have not look close enough. For example Stage 11: Wet-Dry World - Free
Wario or Not. I have see it as I free Wario, that there is a Goomba with Cap.
But I can't remember what is there, when you not free him.
Q: I have see a different ending, which you have not listed yet. Can I send it
to you.
A: Yes, just post it in the GameFAQs Board in the Super Mario 64 DS Section.
