2) Controls
============
A - Jump
B - Attack
Arrow Keys - Move in any direction.
Special Moves
-------------
Down + A - Mega mashy jump. Stand on top of a building to inflict a massive
amount of damage.
A + B - Hindkick. Climb the side of a building to execute this move.
Arrow Key and A + B - Flying jump kick. This attack is good for hitting the
ugly flying types that bug your monster.
B - Activate bonus powers. Hot loogies, anyone?
3) George or Lizzie or Ralph?
==============================
There are three monsters to choose from in this game. They have their strengths
and weaknesses, and they are very stereotypical. George is the standard King
Kong (a mutant monkey or something), Lizzie is a giant lizard with menacing
yellow spikes, and Ralph is what you'd describe as a giant rat.
Ralph is the powerhouse of the game, and is very slow to react to threats.
He's good if you like to just demolish the houses, or start fights with other
monsters. When playing as Ralph, just make sure you avoid the flying and
moving enemies and you'd be fine. As Ralph you can just focus on breaking the
houses, and getting the cheeses and foods inside. Don't stop to eat some fatty
humans as you'd be stuck in one vulnerable position for the longest time. Just
eat the humans that are throwing bombs and or shooting at you. Keep
pummeling the buildings and don't stand in one place for any amount of time.
Don't engage any of the tanks, super flyers and robots for any length of time.
Just concentrate on smashing buildings and out running the military
robots/flyers/tanks.
Lizzie is the average monster in this trio. She has decent speed and strength.
She's the monster you'd choose if you are a beginner at this game. She can eat
a huge amount of icky humans if he wants to, as her reaction time is much
better than the giant mouse. (Sorry Ralphie, old boy!)
George is the old King Kong of this game. He's quite a bit faster than the two
put together. He is best played in a reaction style, adapting and reacting to
the situation. As the old Kong, smash as many windows as possible, and refill
your health with humans and powerups when it's easy to. Destroy all high
threatsto your monster first, like the robots and things in the game. You can
feast onhumans easily with your agility, and run away to face another fight
at any time. Play defensively with this monster, and you'd win easily.
Tiny is a secret monster in this game. He's a powerhouse, obtainable when you
enter a code when you die as either Lizzie/George or Ralph. The code for
obtaining Tiny is in the "Secrets and Cheats" section. It's a bit hard to
input on the tiny gbc buttons, but it's totally worthwhile.
Also, when you grab certain items...you can get bonuses depending on your
character. These bonuses are called Mega Food, Security Bonuses, and Power Ups.
Allergies are an easy and cheap way to take out a building. Just eat the
offending thing, and Lizzie, Ralph and George will sneeze and completely blow
down the building you are on.
In short:
George: The hit and run fighter of the game. He is very adaptable.
Mega Food: Bananas
Security Bonus: Teddy Bear
Power Up: Boxing Glove
Allergy: Dogs
Lizzie: Decent speed and strength. Eat, eat, eat!
Mega Food: Lady Bugs
Security Bonus: Doll
Power Up: ??
Allergy: Birds
Ralph: Smash all the buildings and avoid getting hit by any stupid humans!
Mega Food: Steaks
Security Bonus: Bone
Power Up: ??
Allergy: Cats
Basic Demolishing Tactics
-------------------------
- destroy the foundations of the buildings first
- low lying building's rafters make good trampolines for a while!
- eat humans on a threat priority level (eg. shooting at you, throwing bombs)
- smash neon signs when they are not lit up
- jump on the rooftops of buildings, it's fun!
- don't fall, you will be vulnerable to bullets and artillery
4) Level Explaination
======================
The goal of this game is to demolish the all of the buildings in the area you
are in. In addition, you can eat human beings for extra health and points.
Sometimes the buildings contain extra power ups, grab them to replenish health
and gain extra abilities.
If you find a flag in one of the buildings you are demolishing; grab it. It
will send you to a new area that features your monster flying on top of a
plane. Grab all the balloons and blimps for easy peasy extra points. Sweep
up and downon the arrow buttons for easy coverage of the entire screen.
After the plane bonus level, you'd be dropped in an area with more buildings
and more destruction. Resume the path of destruction you have chosen.
5) Enemies
===========
I will separate enemies into two categories; ground and flying. Ground refers
to enemies that attack and move around on the ground. Flying refers to enemies
that swoop around in the air.
Ground
------
Tanks - One shot from these annoyances can knock your monster off a building.
The good thing is, they never stick around after about three or four shots at
you.To kill these, jump on them or just walk to the side and punch down onto
them.Their pattern of movement is very obvious - a side to side movement with
the shot at the peak of there horizontal movement.
* You can ride on these things if you press down above them! Wheee! A
monster's dream ride!
Robots - These white super mechas carry a lot of weapons. They have
flamethrowers and machine guns. The robots tend to use the
flamethrowers when you are far away or on a building, as it can knock
you off the building. When you approach therobot, it will resort to
it's machine gun to take off a good chunk of your life bar. A couple
of flying jump kicks will get rid of these mechas.
Cars - Worst enemy in existence. It's fast, annoying and sometimes
lets loose a stream of bullets. Don't chase them down, just smash them
when you have the chance.
Flying
------
Flamer Dudes - These guys are a pain, literally. Three shots from these guys
will turn your monster into a piece of charcoal, and dump him or her onto the
pavement below. You can't get rid of them, so don't even try - just wait until
they pause to shoot you, and move!
Helicopters - Annoying little gnats. These enemies fly by you and shoot a
stream of bullets into your monster. If you are on the ground, out run the
bullets. If not, a well aimed jump kick and or a punch knocks them out of the
game.
Super Flyers - Stealth planes. These guys hover overhead and dump bombs onto
your poor hairy monster. Smash them with a fist or a kick.
** You can ride this mechanical pain. Jump and press down for a free ride.
Misc
----
Humans - Easy to do in. Even falling on them kills them. They can be kicked,
sat on, or eaten for health. Just watch out for those humans with ordinance
(weapons), as the bombs, small arms fire, and artillery can injure your poor
monster.
Other Monsters - In linked games, you can beat up your buddies. If an
opponent grabs you, punch repeatedly to get out of it's hold.
6) Items
=========
There exists too many types of foods to be listed. I will, however, list
the most common foods found in the buildings.
Power Ups
---------
Flag - World Tour activation
TV with happy face - Hot Flaming Loogie....what would Miss Manners say?
Television with open happy fave - Death Breath. Watch your monster take
on buildings with bad breath!
Weight and Boxing Glove - Much more power. Smash a floor with one blow.
Doll, teddy bear, bone - Confers the security bonus at the end of a level
Edibles
-------
Humans - yeah!
Cake - Icing anyone?
Fries - Mmmm...greasy!
Cheese - Mmmm...love it!
Plants - weird, but good.
** Try to eat a lot of the building's edibles instead of eating humans. The
greasier a food is: the better for the monster's health.
7) End of Level Bonuses
========================
When you clear a level, you can get several bonuses depending on what actions
you did in that level. These usually require smashing many cars or eating
many humans.
If anyone knows about what these end of level bonuses net you in terms of points
- please tell me. You will be credited in this faq.
Local Flavour
-------------
Requirement: Eat thirty to fifty humans!
Bonus Amount: ??
Notes: Ugh. There's nothing worst than a monster with indigestion. Eat as
many of the humans as you can in the earlier levels, so you can rack up the
bonuses early without the hinderance of the robots and other uber enemies.
Twisted Metal
-------------
Requirement: Smash ten or more automobiles!
Bonus Amount: ??
Notes: Don't chase the cars, dear monsters. They are much faster than you are.
Smash them when you get the chance and or on the ground. Police cars count too,
so smash these, as they are likely to be shooting at you.
Wrecking Balls O' Steel
-----------------------
Requirements: Destroy over fifty buildings!
Bonus Amount: ??
Notes: Get these bonuses in the farthest levels of this game. Buildings are
easy to smash....if you have a system.
Security Bonus
--------------
Requirements: Pick up your monster's security "blanket"!
Bonus Amount: ??
Notes: George's is a teddy bear. Ralph's is a bone. Lizzie's is a doll.
Eat Your Buddies
----------------
Requirements: When playing linked games, when your buddy dies, and shrinks down
to human size - eat him. Your monster will make a silly pose or face.
Bonus Amount: None
Notes: None
8) Secrets and Codes
=====================
Play as Tiny
------------
Choose Ralph, and then die. As Ralph shrinks back into a person, hit:
Select, A, B, B, Up, Down, Forward, Back
Enable Two-Player Link Option
-----------------------------
Hold select at the options menu. Press UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, DOWN, and UP.
* You must have a link cable and two copies of the game to play in this mode.
Midair Glitch (eg. hang around in the air)
-------------------------------------------
You have to have great timing to pull this one off. As a structure collapses,
hit an electric sign. The building will crumple, but you'd be hanging in the
middle of the great blue sky!
9) Credits
===========
Midway - For transferring this classic to a portable system!
My Parents - For letting me waste buckets of money on this game when it was out
in the arcades!

12) Tiny Review
================
Wow. For anyone who hasn't wasted a bucket of quarters on this old wheezer of
a game - get it now!
Storyline - 7/10
----------------
A slightly cheesy storyline involving toxic waste, and mutants. A company
that processes toxic waste accidentally exposes three lab techs to a dangerous
substance. They turn into monsters, and they have the goal of wiping Scumlabs
from the face of the Earth. Standard cheesy ninety's fare, right?
Gameplay - 8/10
---------------
Two buttons. It's amazing what they can do with two buttons. So many special
attacks, so little time. Anyhow, there are so many items, and so little time to
crush the stupid humans. A good game to bring on a family trip - let's you blow
off steam.
Sound - 4/10
------------
Ummm...since when do blocky beeps and screams constitute sound? This sounds
like a job for "rushed production team"...oh well...
Graphics - 6/10
---------------
The gameboy color is capable of so much more. Remember Hereos of Might and
Magic? The graphics were sharp and pretty. These graphics here are nothing but
pixelated, and blurry. You cannot tell the difference between some of the
powerups, and items. However, it's gross but it isn't terminal...so keep that
in mind as you play.
Conclusion
----------
If you can find it, buy it. If you can't...you are missing out on a lot.
