                            1.Introduction

Released on March 26th 1998, this is the 6th game in the Powerful Pro Baseball
series which began on the Super Famicom in 1994. The game requires 123 pages to
save. It sold around 320,000 copies, making it one of the best selling third
party games on the system in Japan.

Along with 9 other modes, this game includes a story mode, called Successful
Mode, which was a feature that was first included in Powerful Pros 4. This time
the player is a student at University and most also worry about working a part
time job and paying the bills whilst trying to picked as a pro player. The
addition of money was added to give Success Mode a more realistic feeling
compared to the previous 2 game’s Success Modes.

There are 6 universities that you can choose to start at; more are unlocked as
you beat Success Mode with each one. Characters from previous game

Konami also wanted to include some mini-games, such as a guitar playing
mini-game that would be controlled with the 3D Stick, but it was scrapped. Some
of the mini-game ideas were added to the Game Boy series, “Power Pro Pocket
Kun”.

The manual for this game includes the results of the 1998 pennant competition;
you can use this to choose the best team for the main modes. Yes, Yakult is a
Japanese drink, and yes they own a baseball team.

As a Brit I know nothing about Baseball, so please forgive any errors in terms I
may make. It's even possible that some cricket terminology might accidentally
slip in instead, sorry gov'ner. The manual for this game is very similar to the
manual for the first 2 games on the N64 in terms of content, but the layout is
different. If you have read my other guides you can probably skim read this one
without missing much.
