                               1.Introduction

Released on November 28th 1997, this is a Japanese only baseball game by Namco.
It is the 4th baseball game on the N64 and was overshadowed by the Power Pro
series. However it is one of the more entertaining baseball games on the N64 as
it features a story mode in which the player must travel around Japan to recruit
famous players to help them battle an invasion by a baseball loving alien race!

The N64 game is the 24th title in the Family Stadium series which began in 1986
with Pro Baseball: Family Stadium on the Famicom. The series pioneered most of
the features and style that the Power Pro series would borrow and make popular.
As you can tell from the title, this series is aimed at children and their
families.

As of 2021 the most recent release was Pro Baseball Family Stadium 2020 for the
Switch. The N64 game sold 43,881 copies and in total the series has sold in
excess of 15 million copies.

This game requires 123 pages on Controller Pak to save data.

The British publication N64 Magazine reviewed the game giving it 68% saying "It
is criminally, criminally slow...by the time one of your fielders has fished out
the ball from the hoardings, you will be drawing your pension...Probably as good
as baseball games are going to get, but you know, it's baseball.". They were
also disappoint that Namco's first game on the N64 was a baseball game, and as a
British mag they were mad about football games.

As a Brit I know nothing about Baseball, so please forgive any errors in terms I
may make. It's even possible that some cricket terminology might accidentally
slip in instead, sorry gov'ner.

I wish to thank Shellshocker18 for his help with this guide. He has been
tirelessly playing through Japanese N64 games in order to write a full history
of the N64. He has played and completed more Japanese games than anyone else,
and has an extensive wealth of knowledge about the N64 and it's games. Thank you
for preserving video game history through your writing and research! I highly
recommend you check out his youtube channel for obscure N64 game footage!

                        4.Your Strongest Team Guide

Earth is invaded by baseball loving aliens. Travel across Japan and recruit
legendary players to your team to defeat the aliens.

First choose a home prefecture from the 47 prefectures in Japan
Then you can set the following

Team name
Home town
Stadium name
Stadium shape (12 options)
Team Logo (6 types)
Team uniforms (6 types)

Then you can begin creating your players using the following options

Uniform number
Which arm they bat with
Their batting posture
Their throwing arm
Their throwing posture
Their skin colour
Their birthday
What type of professional baseball player they are looking for

You can change these settings later so don't worry if you made a mistake.

Next travel Japan and beat the professional players in a mini game. The game
moves in real time and if you are not fast enough the aliens will capture
players, so you need to make sure of rickshaws, bullet trains and air-planes.
(Transportation moves in the direction it is facing). Much of your starting team
will be made up of 50 year-olds, so you need as many young fresh players as
possible.

The box in the top left shows the Year, month and day.
Under that is your current location.

Press the A Button to display the following commands

Ride a means of transportation (if you are near one)
Reports
Team Data
Transportation Roadmap
Your data
Team Data
EXIT

When scouts send you reports, 5 new players will appear on the map. These
reports will tell you their location, age, and characteristics. Using this
knowledge to guess their name you should aim to collect players you need before
the aliens get them.

On New Years day you must return to your home town to play against the aliens in
a 3 inning game. If you lose, one of your players will be randomly abducted by
the aliens. If you beat the aliens local players may join your team without
needing to play their mini-game. The vehicle locations will then change and you
can save your progress.

Occasionally flashing icons will appear on the map. If you visit these locations
event swill occur that will improve your players abilities.

Locations on the map

Osaka Sun Tower
Sakurajima volcano
Gassho-style house
Miyajima Shrine
Mount Aso
Mount Fuji
Mount Kōya Temple

Items

animals
pearls in the ocean
cups of Uji Tea
peach fields
konjac plants
Sanuki Udon noodles

If you beat the aliens 10 times you will clear this mode. You can save your
completed team to use in Game, League and Pennant modes.
