Released on December 20, 2000, it was the final game released for the Nintendo
64 in Japan. This title is considered part of the Bomberman Land series of spin
off titles. It is mostly a compilation of previous Bomberman games on the SNES,
but is one of the more enjoyable Bomberman games on the N64. As it was the last
game released for the N64 in Japan, it had a smaller print run so it is a bit
harder to find these days. The titles of the Bomberman series on the N64 were
changed in translation and so this game is often forgotten about. They are as
follows.

stronger enemies that appear later, power up first!
If an explosions hits a stage exit…
If the timer runs out, many enemies will appear in the stage. Also if an
explosion hits the stage exit, another enemy will appear. Be careful.
There are two stage exits…?
If you defeat all the enemies another stage exit will appear. You can enter
either to clear the stage.
Game Over and Continue
If you hit an enemy or get caught in an explosion you will lose a life, unless
you are holding a heart. In that case you will lose a heart instead. If you get
a game over, you can choose つづける to continue playing from the stage you died at.
Experience the heat in Battle Mode!!
Choose any rules or stage and battle with up to 4 other players at the same
time. There are many different battle stages so think about your strategy! In
the case that both surviving players die at the same time, sudden death will
start to decide the winner.
The remaining time is at the top right. Next to that is the number of victory
points each player has. If a player is killed, they can still attack by throwing
bombs onto the battle field using the A Button. This feature can be turned on or
off in the options. After choosing Battle Mode (バトル) you can choose the
following options.
シングルバトル Single Battle - A single battle for up to 4 players.
ダックバトル Dark Battle - A team battle game for up to 4 players.
タンデムバトル Tandem Battle - A team battle game for 2 or 4 players. One player

your strategy! You can change the battle rules to make your battles more
enjoyable. あり means On and なし means off.

The number of blocks that have been deleted
The number of burnt bombs you have made
The number of bombs that have appeared from blocks that have been deleted
Your combo
The game level
There are two block types Bombermen and Balloons. They come in 5 colours, white,
red, blue, green and black. They can be deleted in three directions,
horizontally, vertically and diagonally.
Unlit bomb
A single bomb that does not explode. If it is hit by an explosion/flame it will
ignite and explode.
Lit Bombs
A bomb that is lit as soon as it starts falling.
Big Bombs
If the Big Bomb meter to the right gets full then a giant bomb will fall. It can
clean the top of the pile in one sweep.
Burnt Bombs
They appear when blocks are burnt. They only get in the way and deleted through
explosions.
Flame Power
Starting at 1 and maxing at 5, this increases the power at which you can erase
blocks.
In multiplayer, the number of burnt bombs is shown at the bottom of your part of
the screen.
Exciting bombing in Panic Bomber
First let’s grasp the basics of the game!
1 First pin down the basics of the game!
L shaped blocks fall down and pile up. They can be rotated and moved left and
right. 3 or more blocks of the same colour will disappear if they match
horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. If the blocks reach the top, the game
will end.
2 What are burnt bombs?
When blocks are deleted, a number of bombs matching the number of blocks deleted
will slowly rise from the bottom. Bombs that explode leave behind burnt bombs.
During a battle, if you send these burnt bombs to your opponent, they will get
in their way. The bombs you have sent will be stocked at the bottom of their
screen. They will gradually rise as one line. Also the bombs you have in stock
can be deleted with other burnt bombs.
3 When you make a combo your flame levels up!
When you make a combo, your flame level or your big bomb meter will rise.
4 Aim to turn the tables in a single attack!
As you delete blocks your big bob meter will rise. When it is full a big bomb
will fall. It can blow away a lot of the blocks at the top middle of your pile.
This also creates a lot of burnt bombs at the same time.
5 Rejecting battles
Just deleting a lot of blocks will not mean that you will win the game. It order
to win it is necessary to decide how to make a lot of burnt bombs. Burnt bombs
are made when explosions hit blocks. They are not made when blocks are deleted.
This is a hint!
Using that information decide how to make combos well!
How to start the game
On the title screen select Panic Bomber ぱにっくボンバー then choose a mode from the
following.
スコアアッタク Score Attack (1 player)
Try to set a combo or high score record. There are many cups to win for many
different records. If you get a high score you can enter your name in the
rankings. Practice making combos and thinking of strategies for the multiplayer
game.
バトル Battle (2-4 player)
Send more burnt bombs to your opponents than they do to you! Make combos to
gather a large amount of bombs to turn into burnt bombs to then send to your
opponent!
ルール設定 Rule Settings for battle mode

below that ones that disappeared will fall down. Then, when a whole column
disappears, all columns will shift one to the left. Move the cursor with the D
Pad. Make blocks that are in the way disappear and try to make big groups of
blocks disappear, to get a high score. When the number of blocks you can delete
(のこり) is zero the game will end. You can change the type of blocks that are used
on the options screen to make it easier for you to play. When you get a game
over, you will be shown the following options.
リトライ Retry
ニューゲーム New game
サイズセレクト Size select – change the number of blocks

medal. You can also get medals by talking to other Bombermen in the park. With
medals you can access new attractions. The number of medals you have is shown in
the top right. In the top right you can change the message speed from slow to
fast, and also save and quit the game.
Ride the attractions!!
These are the attractions available. There are also harder versions of each
attraction.
あけしめ迷路 Opening and Closing Maze
Open and close the blue doors with the A button, and open and close the green
doors with the B button. Try and reach the goal. If you touch an enemy the game
will end. Read the enemies movements well and open and close the doors with good
timing.
月面救助 Moon surface rescue
Control the rocket well and rescue the people floating in space. If you hit the
ground or any floating rocks you will lose a life, so careful control is
necessary.
銀河鉄道 Galactic Railway
While changing the direction of the steam train, collect the passenger cars
floating in space. If you attach all the passenger cars you can stop at the
Galactic Station to move to the next stage. (This game is clearly a reference to
the classic novel Night on the Galactic Railroad by Miyazawa Kenji. Almost all
Japanese children read this story in Elementary School, and a great anime,
Galaxy Express 999 was based on it. I highly recommend you read/watch it.)
ボンバーサムライ Bomber Samurai
With good timing, cut the flying objects.
ねらんでドカン The lined up pipes
Choose the correct pipe to find the bomb.
どきどきハイウェイ Heart pounding highway
Try to travel the furthest distance in a speeding car whilst avoiding all the
other cars.
キャノンボール Cannon ball
Destroy the bouncing balls using fireworks. (Clearly a rip off of the classic
game Pang)
だるま落とし Daruma Otoshi
Within the time limit, try to make all of the blocks fall. (This is based on a
traditional Japanese children’s toy.)
パズル Puzzle
A sliding block picture puzzle game, with 9 puzzles to choose from.
爆弾工場 Bomb Factory
Send the bombs riding the conveyer belt to the right boxes.
福笑いLucky Laugh/Smile
Try to match the faces as correctly as possible to get a highscore.
Maruta Logs
Jump and move around on the floating logs in the river, to collect coins.
ボンバーソルジャー Bomber Soldier
Within the time limit try to destroy as many enemies as is written at the top of
the screen.
サブマリン Submarine
Whilst avoiding the torpedoes, try to hit as many submarines with bombs as
possible.
