The sinister Phutta Morgana has heated up the Antarctic, causing major coastal
cities to flood.  With Ground forces immobilized, there is one last hope. The
Aerofighters, a multinational group of young, elite pilots. Their first mission
is to cover a factory in Tokyo, which has come under attack.

                              4.  The Menu

        A. Practice - You can use these to get better at your flying skills.

     1. Pilot Control: Practice handling your jet. There are 50 rings. You
have to fly through them all in less than 600 seconds. The next ring you need
to fly through is the green one, but if you mess up than continue from the next
ring you see and you will be ok. You can quit or fly through the spinning ring
to leave the level.

     2. VS. AI (Dogfight): Here you fly against AI pilots. You will have 20
minutes. If you lose, you will lose your saved game. You have 900 seconds. The
planes you will fight, in order, are:
SU - 25

                                                               MiG - 31

                                                              F - 22A

                                                              KFIR

                                                              EFA

                                                              RAFALE CO1
My Highest score is 38200 with the A-10A. See if you can beat it; the
crucial thing will be how fast dispatch all your enemies.

     3. Boss Practice: Here you attack targets that are identical to the
bosses but don't shoot back. I am not sure what the green balls have to do with
fighting the boss, but you have to destroy them with guns. The boss itself is
transparent and you can see where to attack it in either boss attack or the
real game. The Yellow spot is the weakest part of the boss, and the red parts
can also take damage but are not as weak as the yellow part.

        B. Main Game: Here you start new games. Be careful, It is easy to hit
A by accident when you turn your 64 on and delete the game you had saved.

        C. Death Match: Lets you play against other people. There are several
levels and settings on which you can play
Levels: Sea - Over the ocean with many icebergs to dodge.
Sky - Just you, the sky, and them. No ground to
                   worry about hitting.
Desert - This is similar to the level in which you
                   practice dog fighting.
Time: Infinite, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes
           Special Weapon: 2, or infinite.
           Defensive Weapon: 10, or infinite.
You then hit OK and select a plane and flight mode. (Novice or
           Normal)

To more planes in death match, you need to beat the following missions.
Su - 25: Tokyo
MiG - 31: Pacific Ocean
F - 22: Air Battle
KFIR C2: Fortress
EFA: Antarctic
Rafale C01: Ice Cave.
The bonus levels do not get you any extra aircraft.

        D. Boss Attack: Here you practice on bosses, but in their setting, and
they shoot back, so if you die than you lose your saved game. The bosses you
can attack are:                  Super - X
                                    Levithan
                                    Spriggan
                                    Bazeel

        E. Options: Here you set up the game to the way you want it.

Difficulty Level:          Easy, 10 lives
                          Normal, 4Lives
                          Hard, 2 lives

Flight: Novice - This is actually harder to control I think, but it may be good
for you if you just bought the game because it keeps the turns simple. You
cannot perform special maneuvers in novice flight.

Normal - You can make much wider turns and also do the special moves
such as the cobra.

Sound: Stereo - Better sound if your TV can handle it, most new TV's
               can.

Mono - Not as good sound

BGM Volume: Adjusts the volume.

BGM: Changes the song.

Controls: You can adjust the buttons for either player 1 or 2.

Data: Here you can delete your game.

Exit: Exits!

        F. Continue: Continue the game you have in progress.

                            5. Controls:

A: Guided Weapon or Rockets
Z: Main Gun
B: Defensive Weapon
R: Special Weapon
Start: Pause
C up: Afterburner
C down: Air Brake
C left: Yaw Left
C Right: Yaw Right
L: Change Camera from behind the plane to cockpit view and vice versa
D-Pad: Look at different views of the aircraft, without the screen layout.

                              Special Maneuvers

From andy420's FAQ, but I don't think what buttons to hit are copyrighted...
well whatever.

FSX/Su-35: Cobra: Pull back on the control stick and push C down. Then pull
back on control stick and push C up.

Culbit: Pull back on control stick and hit C down. Now, pull back on the
control stick and push Up C Button, continue to hold the control stick back.

F-14 / A-10: Rudder Reversal: Pitch the nose of the aircraft more than 30
degrees while flying at 400 knots, and then hit the Left C Button or Right C
Button twice.

                       6. What the Screen Means

Friendly Boss Health: Upper Left, with the blue line above it.

Enemy Boss Health: Upper Right, with the red line above it.

Time Remaining: Top Center

Heading: Upper Center, Below the Time

Speed: Far left Center

Gun: By the speed indicator.  This indicator must be completely filled before
you can use your main gun again.

Roll and Pitch: Center. The higher/lower the pitch the larger the numbers you
will see by the horizontal bars. The more extreme the roll, the more the lines
in the circle in the middle will be vertical.

Missile: Opposite the gun indicator. Serves the same function, it tells you
when you can fire.

Altitude: Opposite the Speed indicator

Radar: In the Lower right. The pink square denotes the boss, Yellow or bright
pink triangles denote enemy aircraft. All other enemies are a dark pink, and
allies are blue.

Health: The Airplane Icon in the lower left. The less full of green the plane
is, the less health you have.

Special Weapon: You start with two. How many you have left are shown by the
bomb icons on either side of your plane's health.

Defensive Weapon: You start with 10. Under the plane icon there are 10 vertical
bars. The more are filled, the more chaff you have.

Red Box Around Targets: This tells you that you missiles are locked.

                             7. Planes

Solo Missions
F-14: 20 MM main gun
      Phoenix Missiles
      Chaff
      Tomahawk Missiles
Comments: Of the first 4 planes, this is the best all around.
FSX: Hunai Shot
    Stars
    Makibishi
    Ninja Beam
Comments: This is a fun plane to fly, and has a terribly powerful special
weapon, but doesn't do too well against bosses.
Su-35: Fire Ball
      Fire Arrow
      Air Mines
      Fire Wave
Comments: Very Powerful main gun, does about as much damage as a Phoenix
Missile hit. It is also fun for dog fighting.
A-10A: 30 MM Canon
      Rockets
      Chaff
      FAE (Fuel Air Explosive)
Comments: My Favorite. Great until the fortress or defending the shuttle,
depending on if you get the bonus level or not. It is great for dog fighting
and is slow and therefore has a smaller turning radius and can pull out of
dives at a much lower altitude. To aim Rockets, Use the C Left or Right Button
to yaw and then shoot your rockets. Let go of the C-button and return to flying
straight.
F-15J: 20 MM Main Gun
      Phoenix Missiles
      Jamming
      Ninja Beam
Comments: This is also a good plane, you get it with a cheat. The Phoenix
Missiles and Ninja Beam for special make it formidable.
X-29: Beam Sabre
     Phoenix Missiles
     Air Mines
     FAE (Fuel Air Explosive)
Comments: You get this plane when you beat all of the levels, including the 4
bonus levels. The pilot has a weird voice, figures, he is a dolphin. Anyway, It
has Phoenix missiles, and a main gun that does as much damage as most special
weapons. It's draw back is how close it has to be to its target to damage it.

Deathmatch, and what you're up against in single player levels.
Su-25: 30 MM Canon
      Fire Arrow
      Chaff
      FAE (Fuel Air Explosive)
Comments: The easiest plane you are up against.
MiG-31: 30 MM Canon
       Fire Arrow
       Chaff
       Fire Wave
Comments: About the same as the Su-25, but a different special.
F-22A: 20 MM Main Gun
      Rockets
      Air mines
      FAE (Fuel Air Explosive)
Comments: This has an element of stealth, at least in single player. You need
to get up close to it to get a missile lock.
KFIR C2: 30 MM Canon
          Rockets
          Air Mines
          Fire Wave
Comments: Like the A-10. I like it.
EFA: 20 MM Main Gun
    Phoenix Missiles
    Jamming
    Tomahawk Missiles
Comments: Like the F-14.
Rafale C01: Hunai Shot
           Stars
           Makibishi
           Ninja Beam
Comments: Like the FSX. When you use in multi player. In single player, expect
it to be the last plane you have to kill.

                        8. Level Walkthroughs:

Note: On medium and hard doing kamikazes can damage your aircraft quickly, and
the bosses are harder. So sometimes doing kamikazes will save you health if you
are shot at leaving the area, or sometimes they will hurt your health if you
would lose less health leaving the area and making a new pass. These
walkthroughs are used to their best extent if you play on normal or easy.

                                Tokyo

Intel: A thermo bomb has been detonated in the South Pole causing Tokyo to
flood. A secret factory is located Beneath the Metropolitan Government Building
and must be protected.

Mission: Defend The Metropolitan Building

Enemies: Super-X,(boss) Rafale CO1, Su-25, (air threats) AH-1 Cobras and CH-46
Chinooks (support)

Top Secret: Fly in low and you will get less gunfire from the super-X.

Time: 900 Seconds (15 Minutes)

Walkthrough: Pitch upward a little bit. You will see some enemy planes. Enter
into a dogfight. If you are going for all the bonus levels, do your best to
take out all 4 enemy planes by your self and you will get many more points.
After the dogfight take out the helicopters red has throughout the level. When
you are ready, go for the boss, he is weak. Believe me or not, just now while I
was typing this I had the game playing on this level and I beat it without
touching a button. I guess my wingman did it for me. Haha whatever, the level
really is that easy once you have some experience.

Boss Strategy: This guy is easy. You can either come in low and attack and you
will not get fired upon as much, but it takes longer and in order to get the
second bonus you must hurry. The fastest way is to get some altitude and then
dive, with the air brake on so you have prolonged time, loosing your weapons.
Crash into the boss, you will not lose any life. For your next bombing run just
invert your plane (Roll upside down than dive) and he will be right under you.
If you are going for the first bonus level don't worry about saving your
special weapons for points if you took out all the enemy fighters yourself.

                           Pacific Ocean

Intel: The enemy fleet has attacked many of the cities and harbors along the
pacific coast with out provocation.

Mission: Destroy the enemy fleet

Enemy Forces: Leviathan (Boss) Rafale C01, F-22, MiG-31, E-2C, AH-1 (Air
Threat) Submarines and Frigates (Support)

Top Secret: Leviathan has the ability to submerge. An E-2C is in the area
giving the enemy air command and control support.

Time: Infinite

Walkthrough: Pitch up so that your plane is in a steep climb. You will see
several enemy planes. Enter into a dogfight. Again, if you are hurrying to get
both bonus missions, than shoot down all 4 planes and E-2C. The E-2C is a joke.
It doesn't even chaff. If you want the bonuses, start attacking the boss
immediately after the dogfight. If you want to enjoy the level, than circle
around at any altitude and work down the number of enemy boats. Subs are
easiest to take out from practically straight above, and can be tricky to hit
when they are submerged, but it is possible. While you are attacking the other
ships start shooting on the boss. He has 2 lives basically, because when you
kill him the first time he will submerge and put out the fire. Then when he
comes back up some AH-1 helicopters will come up. I put them on the air threat
list because they are very, very aggressive. Take them out if you want or
ignore them. Then kill the boss off forever.

Boss Strategy: Leviathan is slightly harder than Super-X. The best way, In my
opinion, to kill him is to attack with guided weapons from high altitudes until
he "dies" for the first time. For the second, do bombing runs from straight
behind. Use your guns to work at the weakest spot, in the back, but to see
exactly where it is do "practice' then "VS. Boss" and you will see the weakest
spot, it is yellow. If you are in a hurry than use the diving tactic for both
lives, but you will take more damage. Be liberal with your special weapons, If
you got all 4 enemy planes either last level or this level (Or both) you should
be fine for the getting the first bonus level.

                        Air Docking - Bonus 1

How to get it: Beat the first two levels with a high score, In excess of 18000
Points.

Intel: The Flying Carrier will refuel your airplane and restock it with ammo
for the remaining stages of the game.

Mission: Land on the Carrier Goliath.

Enemy Forces: None

Mission Time: 300 Seconds (5 minutes)

Walkthrough: Try to do this on your first attempt if you are going for the next
bonus. Keep the air brake on as soon as you start the mission. Go right a bit,
getting behind the right wing of the carrier at about 3600/3700 feet altitude.
You will see 4 green lines forming a box. These are what you want to head for.
Fly with your plane in the box, and pitch the nose up when landing. Keep the
plane as steady as possible and you will get more points. This is truly hard to
describe how to do so you will just have to practice.

                            Air Battle

Intel: The enemy fleet mission is to completely destroy the city of New York.

Mission: Destroy enemy flying fortress

Enemy Forces: Spriggan (Boss), Rafale C01, F-22 (Air threat)B-2 (Support)

Top Secret: Beware of a new super weapon.

Time: 600 Seconds (10 Minutes)

Walkthrough: If you want the next bonus level, speed is of the essence, go
straight to the boss and start to kill him. Otherwise, dogfight a little if
need be for protection, and then go for the boss. You want to attack him a
before his wings unfold, as he will not shoot back until they do unfold. Ignore
the B-2s that support the Spriggan, they will waste your time.

Boss Strategy: He is best to beat with the F-14. You want to hurry to the boss
and do the most of the damage before his wings unfold. Get above him and do
kamikazes. Regrettably, your guided missiles will not lock until you are at
close range. After the wings spread open on the boss, he will shoot back. Now,
Instead of doing kamikazes, get behind Spriggan and shoot from behind it. Use
the air brake, so you get the most out of each run. If you are right behind the
middle, now would be the best time to use the special weapon.

                              Desert

Intel: Bazeel is the command center for a tank force that may attack our space
shuttle which is being prepared for launch.

Mission: Conduct Reconnaissance of the Bazeel and It's tank fleet.

Enemy Forces: Bazeel (Boss) Rafale C01, F-22, KFIR C2 (Air Threats) Hover tank,
Hind, Sikorsky (Support)

Top Secret: Be careful of the rough terrain. It is to the advantage of the
ground forces to lure you in.

Time: 600 Seconds (10 Minutes)

Walkthrough: Okay. When you see the mission says conduct reconnaissance either
you imagine streaking through a valley at 100 feet or going at mach 4 at 100000
feet, but you don't conduct reconnaissance at all, in this level, you destroy
the enemy forces. Oh well. First head left, and take out the helicopters. They
should be pretty easy. Then dogfight if you want. When you are ready, attack
the hover tanks which otherwise would shoot at you. Then attack Bazeel, the
boss. If it is during sunset it is too late to get the second bonus level.

Boss Strategy: Either Kamikaze or attack from behind and low. The weakest spot
is on the back. This is straightforward to just watch out, the terrain really
can to the red advantage.

                      Shuttle Defense - Bonus 2

How to get it: Beat the first three (or four if you got the bonus) levels very
quickly.  If it was sunset in the last level, desert, it is too late to get
this mission.

Intel: The space shuttle is being launched to investigate an unidentified
flying object discovered in our solar system. An enemy tank force has been sent
to prevent the shuttle launch.

Mission: Defend the space shuttle. No Wingmen.

Enemy Force: AH-1, T-80, ZSU 30 2 (Support)

Time: 300 Seconds (5 minutes) or when you have killed all of the enemy threats.

Walkthrough: This level is easiest of you have the F-14 or another plane with
phoenix missiles. It is hardest with the A-10 as it has no guided missiles but
if you aim your rockets well it is possible, but tricky. If you have any planes
besides the A-10 than fly around in small circles at about 500 feet altitude
around the shuttle, gradually expanding them out away from the shuttle. If you
use the A-10, than get right overhead your target and dive, using your rockets
and canon. Pull up when you have destroyed the target and repeat on the next
target. You have to stay close to the shuttle and probably will not kill all
the enemy tanks but run out of time.

                              Fortress

Intel: The Central enemy weapon factory is beneath the fortress. If the
fortress is destroyed the enemy will be unable to replenish their military
forces on earth.

Mission: Destroy enemy super fortress.

Enemy Forces: Fortress (Boss) Rafale C01, KFIR, EFA, MiG-31 (Air Threat)
Many ground installations (support)

Top Secret: Be advised of the force field defensive area in the canyon where
the fortress is. We think it is being generated by several installations.

Time: 900 Seconds. (15 minutes) Avoid prolonged fighting.

Walkthrough: This level is the hardest in the game. Try to stay away from
engaging other planes and ignore the 4 ground installations on the fringes of
the map.  Go straight for where the fortress is, it's the area with all the
pink on your radar. Gain Altitude, and pick off the ground installations around
the fortress from high up out of their reach. This can take a while, but if you
go any lower than 1500 feet before most of the SAM sites have been destroyed
your plane will get extremely damaged. Ignore going for the boss for now, but
you may notice that he is taking some damage. This is because several of the
SAM sites are part of him. They form the circle of squares you may see when
firing missiles. You can destroy these sites, but after you destroy them all
you will have no red box to lock on to and will have to guess where to send
your guided weapons. Now that all the local SAM sites are taken out, you can
feel free to dive and attack without being damaged. You will have no red target
to attack, but you want to aim your weapons at the center of circle where the
SAM sites where (The tower the light is on) Finish him off. You will need your
special weapons usually because time can be critical.

Boss Strategy: Destroy all the SAM sites near the fortress. After there are no
red boxes left for your missile targets when you are diving straight at the
boss and no pink triangles near you on the radar, feel free to destroy the
fortress anyway you want, just watch out for the time you have left.

                      Goliath Defense - Bonus 3

How to get it: Beat BOTH bonus levels preceding it. This means you must beat
the first 2 levels with a high score to get air docking and the first 4
(Including air docking) quickly. The best way to do this is to make sure that
in the first or second level you yourself kill all the enemy aircraft, this
will get you high scores relatively quickly. For speed, well, just hurry.

Intel: Your flying hangar, the Goliath, is docked at sea waiting to take on new
supplies. Intelligence reports the enemy may find this an opportunity to attack
while it is vulnerable.

Mission: Defend the Goliath from hostile forces.

Enemy Force: Seven waves of RAH-66 Comanche Helicopters

Time: 300 Seconds (5 Minutes) or when you have destroyed all the enemies. No
Wingmen

Walkthrough: This is slightly harder than shuttle defense but it is the same
concept. Circle around and shoot down the helicopters. As soon as you kill all
the helicopters on your radar, more will come. This happens 7 times. Do your
best to shoot down 2 helicopters with one guided missile shot, so you don't
have to wait for your missiles to reactivate.

                              Antarctic

Intel: The Antarctic base is the enemy bridgehead on earth.

Mission: Destroy the remaining enemy aircraft.

Enemy Forces: Rafale C01, MiG-31, EFA, F-22 (Air Threat) Three types of drones
(Support)

Time: Infinite.

Walkthrough: This is one hell of a confusing level, even if you are a good
dogfighter, but it is not impossible. The best way to beat it is to do straight
for the dogfight and shoot down the enemy planes and the drones whenever you
have a chance, but don't make the drones anything special. When all 4 enemy
planes are shot down you win. This will be the hardest dogfight you do in the
game, but if you practice enough in VS AI Pilot and generally do well in
dogfights in other levels you should be fine. A nasty little trick is to shoot
at enemy planes while they are shooting at your wingman, they have no clue you
are coming, just watch your back or the other guys will beat you at your own
game.

                              Ice Cave

Intel: Lar has been sent to Earth to destroy all humanity.

Mission: Destroy the enemy headquarters.

Enemy Forces: Lar (Boss) AH-1 and Ground installations (Support)

Top Secret: Be advised of a junction in the cave.

Your time: 900 seconds, Countdown to the apocalypse. You have no wingmen.

Walkthrough: Follow the path. This level is best to do from cockpit view. Go
down the steep hill and shoot the helicopters around the bend. Through the hole
is the junction. You can basically go what seems straight or make a hard left.
The left way seems faster. Continue along the path, there is no other way to go
now. Dispatch all enemy helicopters and ground installations, they can do a
little damage but the more health you have the easier the boss will be. At the
end you will see a circle blocked by an upside down Y ice pillar. Fly through
the hole.

Boss Strategy: Lar is the eye behind the ice. Hit him with start attacking him
immediately. Crash into him. After the crash you he will be in front of you
again. He will not shoot for a while. DO NOT use your special weapons yet they
will not do as much damage as they would when he sheds his ice cover. After
shooting at him enough you will see a bright white light and he will cast off
his ice and start shooting at you. By now he should be severely weakened so use
your special weapons and finish him off. You then get a video of your jet
flying through a tunnel with an explosion right behind it. Remind you of
another N64 flight sim? That's wraps for the game unless you won all 3
preceding bonus levels.

                            Space - Bonus 4

Intel: It appears that Pandora may have the ability to destroy the earth.
Research suggests that it's original purpose was to lead reconnaissance.
Pandora will be revealed when the flying saucer and core station are destroyed.
The final purpose of the enemy is to destroy earth or eliminate humans.

Mission: Defeat Pandora to save the earth from certain destruction.

Enemy Forces: Pandora (Boss) Drones (Support)

Your Time: 300 Seconds (5 minutes) Do not allow Pandora to activate. You have
no wingman.

Walkthrough: This level is relatively simple but can be challenging. Kill the
drones if you wish, but then go straight for the boss who has an insane amount
of health.

Boss Strategy: Just attack Pandora and do as much damage as you can. At various
points in the game Pandora will morph, becoming more agile or well defended. If
you don't kill Pandora in time you get a nice little video of the Earth getting
blown all to hell. If you win you can use Spanky the dolphin in the X-29.

                               Cheats
