What's New
----------
v.11 (7/19/01) - started guide, put layout in, added some walkthrough, that's
basically it, what's with these, commas? also put in some items and everything
you see before you
v.51 (7/20/01) - finished Mars & Moleworld, added a lot more items and the boss
stratagems for Mars & Moleworld, also put in legal shiz and codes, also finished
Planet X, wow that is three levels in one day!
v.9 (7/21/01) - knocked off Mexico & Haunted Castle along with the bosses for
them, which was easier typed than done, changed version number then went and
beat Marvin's House, and Marvin the Martian, the ending was alright then I spell
checked it :\
v.1.0 (7/25/01) - changed version number to indicate it is complete, ;)
Intro
-----
I would try to make this long and drawn out, but basically all I'm going to say
is I like seeing Taz smash things. Also the other Tazmania game was pretty
decent. My question is why aren't most other Genesis games like this? The
graphics are banging, so is the sound even though there's not that much and the
game play is decent. Also the sight of Taz opening his mouth wide and swallowing
an item is just grand. Play this even if you don't have it ;)

=3. Story=
==========
This can be interpreted in any number of ways, but here is mine.
Marvin the Martian is scurrying along and goes inside a teleportation machine.
He seems to be carrying a book. What will he do with this book? Only time will
tell. The title is 'Rare Earth Creatures'. Our favorite Tasmanian happens to be
on page 41 so Marvin schemes to kidnap him. Taz is busy creating his own vortex
when he is beamed aboard the Martian's ship. 'Uh oh...' He's dropped off at Mars,
where he must escape or something like that.

=4. Walkthrough=
================
Mars
----
Crash through two walls for your first enemy. Spin up the wall and take out the
guys to the left and down for a box of rocks. Jump over right and take out a
bird with a Martian tank guarding some food. If you want it there's a chicken
but a slimer throws slime at you. There's a health waiting if you spin back up
past the bombs. You can go straight through the enemies, but spit rocks at the
Martian's pet and enter the transporter.
Touch the Taz statue. Two enemies are around so you have the sneak tip. Right on
the base of the stairs, spin up and you'll encounter a grow ray. Bash the
enemies by just walking on them until you make it to a hallway with a Martian
tank. You'll drop down into a pit with a Martian pet. Keep jumping up and
destroying anyone that is here until you reach the dead end. Press down and C to
jump down the platform. Do this until you drop onto another staircase, go right
and down for a gasoline tank. Now hold down B and experiment to get back up.
Crush everyone around here. Use the down jumping method a lot here, but watch
out for the robotic arms. Get to the portal, and then eat the exit to leave the
zoo.
Leap from platform to platform but avoid the two spikes. Spin past the motor
Martian and get to the top. Jump high right from the yellow pipes and you'll
land on some more pipes. Drop down and left there is a health kit. Continue on
past the gas spewing pipes and fight a Martian tank. You'll get a Taz statue
then be ambushed by a robot bird. Drop immediately and get zapped by the shrink
ray, move fast under the walls to find a continue. Get back up and take the
bottom transporter instead of the top.
Travel annihilating everyone and leaping over spikes. You'll reach a bomb, box
of rocks and a chicken. Eat the bomb so you'll be the 'bomb' and get the box of
rocks. Go back to the transporter and this time phase to the top. Spin all the
way around the yellow pipe and leap over some spikes. You'll reach a Martian
tank guarding a chicken, take it. Another Martian tank is guarding the way up so
keep going to reach the Taz statue. Spin over and down for the transporter. Eat
the exit to face this level's boss.
Moleworld
---------
You get dropped off like a piece of luggage at a backwater mote. The cactus
cannot hurt you, but the moles can. Spin past two moles and leap over the fake
cactus. A tip for recognizing them is they there are fewer claws than on a real
cactus. Another fake cactus waits, after that is a seemingly dead end that you
can spin upside down on. Dodge the moles electric blast and leap over the flame.
Make the long jump over the bombs and meet the flying mole. Keep jumping while
smashing moles and over bombs. A mole is by the Taz statue along with a red vial.
Ignore the brown soil unless you like drilling. Take the box o' rocks by the
jumping machine and go up the steps. Kill the array of moles and you'll drop
right down to eat the exit.
Those crazy moles are at it again. If you touch the giant drilling machine that
stalks you everywhere you go, you are dead. So my suggestion is to spin as fast
as you can. BTW the top way holds a continue so don't miss it. Also be sure to
wait for the spikes to retract into the ground. When you grab the red vial, this
signifies the hardest part where you mustn't get hit once or your dead. Just
spin up to the dirt and eat the exit. Now you must face the boss, details are
around this FAQ somewhere.
Planet X
--------
Bash 3 crab like creatures and use the platforms to get higher. The UFO will
carry you across where you have to tunnel for higher ground. Get past the
dropping claw and make the jumps for a box o' rocks & a bomb & some dynamite.
Drill to the bottom and bash the crab creature. Keep going past the floating
orange things then drop onto the UFO to reach two crab creatures. Ricochet up
the two walls and you'll land down green waterfalls. There is a health kit and
the Taz statue, but the Taz statue is difficult (but possible!) to reach.
There's a pastrami sandwich for your troubles. Past the various hazards is a
tunnel and another hazard. Hit the little mushroom and grab it using the action
button. Float up and drill through more mud. There's another health kit. Go
upstream in the water past the tentacles and once again you must reach the Taz
statue. Use the mushroom again here through the white beam maze to get a
pastrami sandwich. Take the UFO rides VIP style then keep going past a pool of
spikes to the exit.
If you play your cards right and are observant you'll get a box o' rocks. The
ledge with the bomb is next to it so hop on. A ham is past two dropping claws
and a dynamite. Wait until you see an octopus head in the green river then leap
right. To the right of the dirt is a gas can, swallow it then return to drill
the dirt. Get back in the river, when you spot the red claw jump to it. Hop over
the platforms to get the exit.
Get past the four red claws, the orange balls and the spikes to see a mushroom.
Hold it and fly in the middle where the orange ball is. Keep flying up and
around until you spot the bread. You'll also spot a new mushroom, fly straight
up and you will see the pastrami sandwich. If you can find the chicken & the
continue you deserve them. When the thanksgiving feast is over look for a Taz
statue. Fly up and go left to reach another Taz statue. Use the ricochet method
to careen right into the path of this level's boss.
Mexico
------
This whole level consists of jumping away from Yosemite Sam, who makes a guest
appearance. Around the middle is a ham & pastrami sandwich. The Mexicans &
raging bulls are a danger. The health kit signifies you are pretty close to the
exit so keep jumping.
A bird immediately drops a dynamite stick onto you. Snakes and Mexicans are
rampant here. Use the pot to jump up, enter the door with 'La Cantina' above it.
Walk over for an extra life, and then leave the saloon. Go all the way right and
there's a gas tank. Go all the way left and ascend the platforms. Enter the
saloon by the wall with the Mexican above it and spin left then jump and spin
right then leave the saloon. Descend the steps to kill another Mexican. Drop
down then grab the health kit and go further for a lot of vases. Now go to the
top 'La Cantina' door, and go to the top step then hop to the roof then right.
Spin fast for a bit and descend more steps for a box o' rocks. Ricochet up two
times and left there is a gas can. Put it to good use on the Mexican and drop
down. Enter the saloon and do a long ricochet to the top. Keep jumping and
dropping to eventually get a continue. Ricochet once again then swallow more gas.
Spin to the end of the corridor and hop over the trigger-happy Yosemite. Notice
the stadium signs and you'll also notice the exit. You'll also notice the boss,
so take care of him.
Haunted Castle
--------------
An eye is watching you; make sure you 'cure' those cataracts. The bees are
indestructible like in Donkey Kong so leap across for a gas can. Blow fire on
the bees now and leap across platforms. Kill the two or three eyeballs for a ham.
Use the action button on the switch so the gate opens. Get away from the fire
dropping gargoyles & go up the eyeball-infested steps. Repeat the method for
this switch and drop down past the gate. You'll stumble onto more fire gargoyles
+ a pastrami sandwich + a box o' rocks + a ham. Make the jumps carefully then
make some more at the top past the bouncing eyeball. A witch is throwing knives
at you; don't bother trying to hurt her. Another bouncing eyeball is guarding
the switch. Get back down past the fire gargoyles for a health kit + a Taz
statue. Make your way jumping left to grab a box o' rocks, fruit and the switch.
Now jump right past the rolling eyeballs then drop down. Jump left to the switch
and down is the gate, which holds the exit.
Grab the gas and flame the little knights and bees. A pit of fire is there so
cross it and maybe you won't take damage. The swinging pendulum/axe are slow,
they shouldn't be any trouble. Ricochet up the wall and do long jumps past the
eyeballs and pits of fire to ricochet up another wall. Hickory smokes the little
knight to grab a chicken across the fire. Where the little knight was, there's a
fake wall so enter it and smoke another knight. Past some bees is the gas can,
put it to good use. A health kit is located to the left along with a cake & box
o' rocks. Go mach 10 up the staircase then mach 11 up another staircase for a
ham. Ricochet up the knight-guarded wall for a fruit and drop down. Run past the
ineffectual axes for a fake door that holds a gas can & pastrami sandwich. Go up
those steps to toast another knight. A leap across helps keep the doctor away,
and it also activates the Taz statue. Blow fire on the bee but not on the gas
can and spin down the column. This place is littered with bombs, resembling the
white house. A knight guards the cool column so spin down it at incredible
speeds. You will be going on the up and up to the exit.
Stay on the rotating platforms until you can leap to a next one. Make these
jumps carefully, as the green stew is non-forgiving. Pretty soon you will obtain
a box o' rocks by a bouncing eye. Drop down and go right past many bees and many
more rotating platforms. When you are in the giant rotating platforms room on
the bottom a pastrami sandwich is waiting to be eaten. You can also get a gas
can & fruit on the right side. Now ascend the long one but the pipes are leaking
gas so be careful. You'll get a pastrami sandwich & some gasoline. Electric
beams are sizzling; endure them long enough to find the Taz statue. Hop up left
for another pastrami (where's the bologna?) sandwich & a blue potion. Run
through the enemies until you can't jump anymore. Use the long rotating platform
to propel Taz to the oblong shaped one and from there is a Taz statue. Ricochet
after some electricity and keep leaping up the platforms. Travel past the
various enemies for the exit. It seemed to take forever to take there, what it
didn't for you? You must be a weird person. Anyways the boss is somewhere in
this guide so look around.
Marvin's House
--------------
Simply walk until you get to a place filled with disintegrating beams and chock
full of alien badness. The square will let you get up and get a turkey (hey, I'm
sick of pastrami) sandwich. Everything but the spiked dog can be killed so take
note of this. Pretty soon you'll find two bombs in a row with laser spilling
balls. Pick up the bone by a disintegrating beam ship and give it to the dog on
the bottom. When you fall down the giant tube wait for the walls to close in
then ricochet up. Keep going around and you'll reach the Taz statue. Hop over
the two bombs for more pastrami (blecch) and enter the door. Press B in the
seemingly dead end and a cool sequence follows. You step out, along with your
clone! Use him as a boost to jump higher. Soon you'll drop into yet another tube,
employ the same tactics. More platforms don't fall off of them. Approach a
machine and spin inside it for your clone to pop out! Your twin follows you
everywhere so bounce to the top. Take the ham and prepare to run to the exit as
the interstellar dog chases you.
Try not to run into any beams, as they have the same effect as disintegrating
rays. The squares guide you up, where the gravity is upside down. Claw your way
to the right. Eventually you will enjoy the benefits of normal gravity again,
namely saneness. The down sign will send you down; continue on from here, it's
pretty linear. You'll know if you are doing well when you see four beams of
different colors. Then you will proceed to fight the final boss, have a blast
doing so!

=5. Boss Strategies=
====================
Mars - Subterranean Alien Creature
----
The elephant like trunk swinging around can be avoided by walking in front of it
then jumping over. The bouncing spikes are easy to dodge. Only when his eyes pop
up, can you hurt him so jump straight up and spin. The trunk also moves in
reverse after the first swinging, so just know this to win. 4 hits are all that
is needed to send him back to the nearest drawing board.
Moleworld - Machine Driller
---------
A driller that tries to drill you. But it's so much more than that. (yeah_right)
It can shoot rockets at you and throw a laser like chain. Basically this is the
Mars boss with a different face and setting. Just wait until he is done doing
the abovementioned attacks & hit him when the shaft comes down. After 4-5 hits
he drills his way to the core.
Planet X - Crazy Centipede
--------
Finally, a worthwhile boss. What I'm referring to is hitting the head or the
tail while the body is thrashing around in every which direction. A good
strategy is to jump while spinning in the air or you can just spin randomly
around. This is probably the hardest yet, especially since it takes over 5 hits
to disassemble his body and finally his head.
Mexico - Bull
------
He's angry, thank your lucky stars you aren't red. The chargings can be avoided
with a simple throw of the cape, or the jump will do nicely. He's virtually
impenetrable, kind of like the Pentagon, so you must make him hurt his self. The
only way to do this is to spin and lead him into either one of the walls and
jump at the last second. Or you can practice leaping over him four times in a
row, but the former seems easier to me. About 6 times will keep him down.
Haunted Castle - Hairy Red Monster
--------------
I'm sure you know whom I'm referring to; the one Bugs Bunny is always running
into. Besides this crazy person, the guy behind the glass I think is shooting
lasers at you. The thing you have to do jump onto his eyes while he is either
walking or jumping around. It's best you do it when he is frozen though. Pretty
soon you'll get lucky and he'll collapse into the chair, quickly run and hit the
other switch. The mind transfer machine has put you inside the monsters body!
COOL! Jump into the laser machines and it will fall apart. Transfer back into
Taz's body and enter your ACME box.
Marvin's House - Marvin the Martian
--------------
Wouldn't you have been surprised if you fought someone other than Marvin? In his
gigantic robot suit, he is pretty much invincible except for the little gold
thing on the top of his head. You must make it spin around, but this is
difficult since you have to hop on the robot parts to get there, and they can
rotate, and he is constantly shifting the robot. When he jumps, you jump with
him spin on the gold thing. After seven hits of this, the games insanely
difficult boss is vanquished and you are done! The ending is well worth it, so
kick back and chill.

=7. Codes=
==========
Special thanks to IGN; I couldn't have made it without you!
Cheat Mode
At the Sega logo screen, hold A + B on Controller One while holding
B + C on Controller Two. If you did this correctly you'll hear a
bark. To use the code, pause the game while playing and press A. A menu will
appear where you can restore your health and jump to any level.
Invincibility
At the end of any level with an exit sign, use XY mode after you
have eaten the exit sign and leave it like that. If it worked, Taz
will stay frozen and the level ending music will play. In the next
level, you will be invincible until you use XY mode again.
submitted by Donnyman
Invincibility in Haunted Castle and Beyond
After putting in the secret menu, at Mexico three, use XY mode
until you beat the bull. When you get to Haunted Castle, you will
be invincible. Even when you are at Marvin's House you will be
invincible.
NOTE: Once you use XY mode again the invincibility code will wear off. Also
beware; you will not be invincible to spikes, fire, and chemicals. You can't
spin at any enemies also.
