LAST Version - 3/15/2002 - It's been well over a year since I've last updated
this guide, but as I was reading through it, I realized that there is
stuff I didn't write about. So this is it, the very last version is
here. I've updated my E-mail address, as my previous provider hasn't
been working for a long time now. And I've also included my ICQ
number.
You'll also notice that all the chapter titles are now kinda in the
middle of the text, thus making the guide look better. Also changed
the Introduction, and changed the name of the chapter "Last Words"
to "Closing Words".
Apart from that, I've updated the Richard Rose section, since there
were things to add. This really is the last version, unless I decide to make it
into a full Walkthrough, which I don't think I will. Not too soon, anyway.

1.2 - 6/3/2000 - Finished this guide, with all the sections.
I don't think I will update this anymore, as there is nothing more to
say.

1.1 - 5/9/2000 - Finished sections 4.5 , 4.6 . Updated the "Credits"
section.

1.0 - 4/13/2000 - Submitted this FAQ. I still don't have sections 4.5-
4.8 . Simply because I still didn't beat them(last time I did, it
was about 6 years ago). I'm gonna play a lot today and then I will
submit all the bosses, or at least that cocky little Chief...

                     /\/|2 - Introduction|/\/\

This guide, quite simply, provides effective strategies against all of the
bosses in the side-scrolling shooting game Sunset Riders. It goes in-depth with
every boss, and provides maps for all of the boss areas. The latest version of
this guide can always be found at www.gamefaqs.com

                  /\/|3 - Controls of the Game|\/\

The controls of this game are simple.

A - Slide to dodge bullets
B - Jump
X - Nothing
Y - Shoot
L - Nothing
R - Nothing

(or however you configure them, but these are the default controls)

There are two power-ups that can make the game easier :

Silver Star - Gives you an extra gun. If you already have 2 guns, it
will give you $2,000.

Gold Star - Makes your bullets purple. It makes you shoot a lot
quicker(at a faster rate), and you will shoot more bullets at the same
time. If you already have upgraded bullets, it will give you $2,000.

To shoot diagonally, just use the arrows in the game pad.

                        /\/|4 - Boss Guide|\/\

And now, to the real thing! The thing you've been waiting for!
The Boss Guide! All the strategies revealed! The untold secrets of
the World lie beyond these words!!
This is how the section is coded :

How to Beat Him : When you start, stand in place A and shoot the 2
enemies above you. Now shoot the enemies above spot X and go to spot C.
Shoot the 2 barrels until more enemies appear at the corners. Move to
spot X and shoot the 4 of them. From there(spot X), shoot the barrels
until at least one of them falls(keep dodging the bullets). By now, the
enemies re-appeared, so kill them. Go to spot A and shoot the barrel(s).
Now move to spot C and shoot the Boss. He will start glowing until he
falls down. One down - 7 to go(that doesn't sound good, does it?)

                          |______________| H - HawkEye(Boss)

How to Beat Him : HawkEye's bullets(and the enemies') move a lot faster
than the last Boss, so you'll have to jump a lot to dodge them.
First shoot the 4 cowboys from spot A. Now wait for them to re-appear,
and kill them again. Keep killing them(and avoiding the Boss) until they
don't re-appear. Now you can start shooting the boss. Wait for him to
expose himself, and shoot away. When he is glowing really fast, he will
jump down near you. Shoot him about 7 times and he will die. If you shot
him fast enough, he will die before he's able to shoot.
Two down - 6 to go.

                          |              | * - 2 enemies clustered
                          |_X____Y____Z__|     together.

How to Beat Him : The Boss will show up at spot Z. Immediately from the
start, jump up to spot A. Kill the 6 enemies, and kill the 3 or 4
upcoming waves of enemies. After you see that the enemies don't re-
appear, crouch and shoot Dark Horse. When he fires, just move a little
bit to dodge them. After about 15 shots, the Boss' horse will get his
dead body out of there.

How to Beat Them : Finally, a semi-hard Boss! From the start, go to spot
B and rescue the lady there. Now shoot the two enemies in spot X(I was
too lazy to mark them on the map). Position yourself in spot A and shoot
the Smith brother above your head(the one on the LEFT!). When they throw
bombs at you, try to dodge them and keep shooting at the left Smith
brother. When he dies, go to spot B and jump to hang from the lamp(don't
get on it, just hang there). Shoot the remaining Smith brother and he
won't be able to hit you(guaranteed). When he dies, put the controller
on the floor, and watch the cool dance.

                           |B_|________|_|__|

How to Beat Him : El Greco will show up at spot C. He has a strong
shield, a long whip, and a stupid-looking sombrero.
Whenever you try to shoot him, he will defend himself with his shield.
The trick here is to shoot him while he's jumping or about to jump.
If you get to close to him, he will try to whip you. If he does, jump
and try to dodge it. Also, you should keep in mind that when he's
attacking you, he's off guard so you might want to attempt an attack.
It will take a lot of time and patience to kill El Greco, but he will
eventually drop dead.

                          |_A______B_____C__|

How to Beat Him : Finally, a real one-on-one! There are no obstacles or
enemies in your way(except for WigWam). Many people think this boss is
very hard, but that's because they're not using my strategy!
The stage is specially designed so that you get to the boss with both
weapon upgrades.   (This works only with Cormano, and maybe Bob.)
You will start in spot A and the Boss will be in spot C.
From the start, crouch and hold down the Y button. These bullets are
very powerful and Wigwam can't block them that way. If you did it
correctly, WigWam will drop dead(well, he doesn't die) before he's able
to respond.

                         |__A_____B___w_P_|

How to beat him : Yes, I know that this map isn't very accurate, but it
will have to do. Paco Loco is actually very easy, you just have to know
what you're doing.
Here's the deal : The asterisk symbolizes an enemy, who will appear
every few seconds, and will toss a bomb at you. Paco Loco will stay in
his place without moving, he will just shoot bullets at you.
You will have to move up and down to dodge the bullets, and move left
and right to dodge avoid the bomb, all this while jumping and shooting
at Paco Loco. When he starts glowing really fast, his firing rate will
increase, but if you jump up and down, he should be down in a snap.

                      |                 | * - Annoying enemy
                      |*__A____B____C__*|

How to Beat Him : The Final Battle! This boss will be nearly impossible
to beat if you don't have a friend playing with you, and I can't give
you much advice, because there isn't much to say. Right from the
beginning, shoot the 4 normal enemies you see, and immediately jump to
the balcony above you (spot Y on the map). Now shoot the boss like crazy
and jump to dodge his bullets and the bullets of his assistants. On a side
note, remember that killing his assistants is more important than
attacking him, because it the battle easier. When the balcony breaks,
he'll go wild and you'll have to keep shooting him until he appears to be
dead. However, Richard Rose is a real bastard and had body armor on.
So after the battle continues, you'll have to keep shooting him the way
you did a bit earlier. At last you will kill him, thus finishing the game.
