Welcome to the unofficial Sega Shadowrun walkthrough and FAQ. This information
is intended to guide people who either are stuck in Shadowrun, or who have
rented it for two days and need to get through it lickety-split.

WARNING This file is essentially an ordered list of spoilers. I take no
responsibility for ruining your fun.

Let's find out who our players are, Johnny.

Get ¥250 together to get your brother's stuff from Stoker's Coffin Motel.

See Dr. Haversheen in Seattle general hospital, Downtown.

See Tabatha Shale in Tarislar City Apts., Puyallup.

See Boris Errascoe, Fixer in Redmond. Ask about Michael. Learn about Mako
Sochou. Get into fight. See Boris again. Ask about David Owlfeather. Learn
about Aragorn.

Go see Mortimer Reed. Ask about Mako Sochou.

Go find Mako Sochou in Club Penumbra.

Go see Caleb Brightmore in Icarus Descending. Learn about Frosty.

Visit the Tarislar City Apts., Puyallup. Find out Frosty is in sinsearach.

Trip in the wilderness. In Salish-Shidhe talk to David Owlfeather, and get
tasked to find Aragorn.

Travel to the Eastern-most clearing to find Stark in trouble.


Stark's in trouble, Herc!

Go see Dr. Haversheen in Seattle General Hospital. Oh, no! He's in big trouble!

Run Fuchi to find the artificial heart. Return to hospital.

Go find Stark at Underground 93.


Oh, right. I was looking for Frosty.

Travel to Sinsearach, and agree to undergo Elven bonding.

Take package to Buffalo Woman in Salish-Shidhe. Return to Sinsearach.

Get told to find Ilene Two-Fists. Go ask Caleb Brightmore about her.

She's in jail. You have to break her out. The easiest way (though not the
cheapest) is to buy a Hollywood pass and a MagLock key. Ilene is now available
for hire in the Jump House Bar, Redmond.

Return to Sinsearach. Promise to help the elves. Learn Vigore & Jarl are
involved. Find out you have to seek the wisdom of your ancestors.


Aragorn
-------
Ask Mortimer Reed about Aragorn, who will tell you that Mitsuhama has him.

Run Mitsuhama to free Aragorn.

Go visit David Owlfeather. You can now seek the wisdom of your ancestors.


Ooh. The Wisdom of your Ancestors. How spiritual.

Visit the wise one on Council Island. He will give you three tasks.
Get a gargoyle horn. Either hang out in an abandoned building or in a cave in
the wilderness until you get one.

Get a Hell Hound pelt. The Hell Hounds look pretty funny as they turn into pelts
when you shoot them. Hang out in the wilderness or in caves to find them.

Get a feather from a feathered serpent. Go to the southern-most cave entrance on
your map, enter, and use a right-hand wall-following method to find the serpent.
Left-hand works as well, but it takes way longer.

Return to wise man, learn your principal adversary.

Go to Sinsearach, talk to Frosty.

Go find Harlequin.


Harlequin's Back. Again.
------------------------
Find him in the Tarislar City Apts., Puyallup.

Search for Ito Ogami. Enquire at the downtown hotel, where they will tell you
that he just left for Matchsticks. Go find him there, and get into a right old
punch-up.

Go find Vigore & Jarl. A visit to the Wanderer will reveal that they've left.

Visit Harlequin, who will recommend a Renraku run.

Deck Ito's system. There are 3 interesting files. There are also 3 tar pits.
Beware.

Run Renraku. There is one interesting file in security, two in confidential, and
three in projects. Get the map.

Return to Harlequin.

Find Vigore & Jarl. Gunderson knows where they are.

Retrieve the map context. Return to Harlequin, who will tell you to prepare for
the final assault.

When you are ready, return again to Harlequin, and he will transport you to the
final assault. It's not that hard.

Yay! Lame final sequence!

FAQ
=======================================================================
Q: This is taking bloody forever. Is there any way to cheat?
A: Yes. When you restart the game, and the Shadowrun logo is first displayed,
press the buttons, "ABBACAB" (like the Genesis song). The game will start as
usual. Go to your personal secretary and push the joystick up. You will select
an unmarked item, which will take you to a sub menu with a variety of choices.
The most useful are "Nuyen" (Makes your bank account = ¥250 000) and +10 Karma
(Increases the Karma of all party members by 10).

More ligitimately, one reader has reported that, "As a decker, the fastest way I
know of to get cash quick is raiding Ito's system. Use Rebound on the first
black ICE to avoid the tar pit, and deception 5 always gets me through the
access/black ICE combo. Head straight for his management files and get as many
as you can from that node alone. I've scored ¥28,000 in one trip."

Q: I keep getting wailed by Tar Pits in the matrix. What should I do?
A: Increase your Attack and Identify programs to the max, but let Sleaze,
Deception, and Slow languish at 1. Tar Pits are only encountered on SPUs, CPUs,
and Datastores. Whenever you encounter one, hit it with one of those three
programs first. If you lose it, oh well; that's ¥70 down the drain. Then attack
the remaining program with attack. This strategy also keeps your programs from
sucking up all your cyberdeck space.

Another good way is to use Rebound, as it doesn't attack the ICE directly.

Q: What's the best weapon?
A: The shotgun, IMHO.

Q: Is there any way to delete programs from your cyberdeck?
A: The only way is to get a Tar Pit to suck them out.

Q: What's with the secret virus conspiracy that I discovered?
A: You've discovered a conspiracy to wreck the Shiawase (sp?) nuclear power
plant. There are five clues, one each in the computers of Mitsuhama, Renraku,
Ares, Aztechnology, and Fuchi. After you can spell CHERNOBYL, run it, and
destroy the virus. You'll get a heap o' cash.
