Hello and welcome to my FAQ for James Pond 2: Codename: Robocod. This was my
all time favourite game when I was 6 years old. It's great how writing these
guides help me relive my childhood classics. This should be my 40-something
FAQ. I'm kinda vague on that because I've got a million projects all running
at once, but what ever.
The main reason that I'm writing this guide is to help out with the SMS FAQ
Completion Project. With the project, we're hoping to get a complete FAQ for

James' health and lives are shown in the bottom left hand corner. In the SMS
version you can just see James' arm and hand. However, in the Genesis/Mega
Drive version, you get a full animation of Mr. Pond.
The green batteries show James' health. You can hold a maximum of 5 batteries
at one time. Earn extra batteries by picking up different coloured Stars. You
will lose a battery every time you get hit by an enemy or fall onto spike
pits. All enemy attacks will cause a maximum of one battery of damage.
The fingers will show the number of lives that you currently have. Since James
only has four fingers, you can't have more than four extra lives at one time.
You will lose a life if you all your batteries are gone or if you fall down a
pit. You can gain more lives by collecting the golden Crosses hidden
throughout the game.

ARMOR : The Armor is a silvery breastplate. This will make James invincible
for a brief period. He cannot be harmed by spikes and every enemy
that touches him will be defeated.
UMBRELLA: Collect the Umbrella and when James falls from a height, he will
whip it out and this will slow his descent. This is useful when
there are scattered collectables to pick up.
WINGS : The Wings allow James to fly surprisingly enough. These are helpful
on stages where there's a lot of climbing involved. Finding the
Wings will help you avoid all that tediousness.

BATHTUB: This might come as a bit of a surprise but the bathtub can fly. Press
2 to elevate the bathtub and down on the D-Pad to descend.
CAR : Jump in the car and you can move along the ground at a greater speed.
You can still jump whilst you are in the car.
PLANE : The plane acts pretty much the same as the bathtub, except of course,
it's actually a plane.

• Make your way through the stages in order, by entering the doors in the HUB
world.
• Once you have completed a stage James' head will appear above the door to
that stage.
• You will have to complete two world before moving onto a boss world.
• Some stages will require you to find a certain number of Penguins before the
EXIT opens.
• CHECKPOINTS appear on certain stages. Once you have passed it, if you die,
you will return to the CHECKPOINT.
• Hit the underside of item boxes (they have ! on them) to reveal an item.
• ? boxes contain a mystery item. Either an enemy or a vehicle is usually
contained inside.
• Enemies are defeated by bouncing on their heads. Some will take more than
one bounce.
• Stretch James to help him reach higher collectables. If you stretch him and
he touches the roof, he will grab hold of it. You will now be able to shimmy
along the roof, allowing you to move over obstacles such as spike pits.
• Whilst in vehicles, you can defeat enemies by running into them. However, if
the enemy actually touches James, he will be thrown from the vehicle. If you
are quick, you can jump back in the vehicle before it is lost.

world. You should consult this every time you complete a world. You can
usually pick up a bonus or two by poking around Santa's Toy Factory.

Head to the right and you will see some collectables on the roof. This is the
location of the infamous Cake, Hammer, Earth, Apple, Tap cheat. For more on
this, see the Cheats section. If you are playing the game properly, just pick
up the items and drop back to the ground. Head to the right and enter either
Sports World.

Head back to the left and you will see some Penguins and Stars on the roof.
Grab these, then drop back to the ground. Head to the right and enter Teddy
World.

Go back to the roof and you will see that there's a Cross on it. Stand on the
turret on the left and you can take a running jump and hit the ! block on the
right. Some Wings will be revealed. Grab them and you can fly around Santa's
Toy Factory. Unfortunately, I don't know what this is useful for, but if you
do, drop me a line.
Now, go up the stairs on the right of Teddy World and go through the door at
the top. You will now enter the first boss level.

Head to the left hand end of Santa's Toy Factory. Collect the two Penguins
either side of the twin statue. Now, stand on the statues and they will rise
into the air. To the right you may see some coins. Wait until the statues
stop moving and you will see an Umbrella. Jump to it and it will help James
float to the ground. Zig-zag left and right to collect the Coins. Now, go to
the right of Sweet World to enter Industrial World.

If you go back to the roof at this point, the Cake, Hammer, Globe, Apple, Tap
will have reappeared. Once you are ready, head up the stairs on the right. At
the top, go through the door on the left. This will take you to the second
boss battle.

Head up the stairs to the left. Go through the first door into Bathtub World.

Head as far to the right as you can. Here are a couple of twin statues. Stand
on them and they will begin to rise. Eventually they will reach a room in the
sky with plenty of collectables available. Head through the door to the right
of Bathtub World.

Head back to the rooftop to find a Cross for 50,000 points. This time though,
there is no ! block. Head up the stairs to the Queen of Hearts.

Head up the stairs and go through the first door.

Head all the way to the right of the area. Stand on the heads of the twin
statue, before standing on the ! blocks. The blocks will rise into the air.
Jump off the of the blocks and drop through the gap left beneath the blocks.
Down here you will find A LOT of Crowns. This will increase your score by a
lot if that's your thing.
You should now make your way to where Sky Castle World is and move up a floor.
Up here you will move into the next world.

Head over to the right hand side of Santa's Toy Factory. There's only two more
doors left to open (this means you are nearing the end). Enter the door on the
ground floor to begin Circus World.

Head to the right and stand on the head of the twin statues. Stand on the
heads of the twin statue, before standing on the ! blocks. The blocks will
rise into the air. Jump off the of the blocks and drop through the gap left
beneath the blocks. Down here you will find A LOT of Crowns.
Now, head through the final door which is one floor higher than Circus World.
This will take you to the final boss.

PENGUINS: 2
ENEMIES : Gingerbread Man, Snake
Go to the left and you will see a Yellow Star and also an EXIT. You can leave
via this EXIT (EXIT 1) and complete the stage now. Kinda of defeats the object
of playing the game, but you can do this. However, if you want to play this
stage, head to the right and jump over the spike pit. Grab the collectable on
the other side.
At the other spike pit, stretch James up to the roof. Shimmy over the pit and
drop down at the other side. Grab the collectables here, then jump onto the
moving platform. Jump onto the other side of the spike pit. Pick up the
collectables here and jump onto the higher ledge on the right.
Here there are a few item boxes, similar to those you see in Super Mario
games. Hit them and collect the contents. Make sure you don't touch the Poison
though, otherwise you will lose health.
Jump onto the platform above the spike pit. Let it move to the right before
leaping off. Collect the Burgers here. Continue to the right and grab the
Cherries. Watch out for the Snake too. Just jump on it's head twice. Proceed
to the right and empty the item boxes.
Soon you will come to a ? box. Hitting it will reveal a Snake, so you can just
ignore it. In the second ? box there is a Gingerbread Man, so you can ignore
this one too. However, you should jump on top of the box. From here you can
reach the high ledge on the right. Up here you will find two items worth
50,000 hidden behind the wall.
Now, drop down and collect the Penguins (2). EXIT 2 is here. If you go through
EXIT 2, you will proceed to Stage 2 of Sports World.

This is sort of a bonus stage. Collect the different coloured Baubles that
are floating around. Grab the other items too, then head through the EXIT.

ENEMIES : Blue Boy, Cardy Bird, ChooChoo, Gingerbread Man, Snake
Climb the stairs to the right, but watch out for the Cardy Bird. Once you
reach the top, make your way down the other side. At the bottom, you can go
into the pyramid structure. Bounce on top of the ChooChoo until it has been
destroyed.
You will see a Cardy Bird moving back and forth. Collect the Pink Star and the
Candle on the left. Now, stretch James so that he grabs the ceiling above the
Cardy Bird. Drop down onto the bird to kill it. You can now collect the Coin
on the left.
Leave the pyramid and climb back to the top. Jump onto the chocolate platform
on the right. From here, you can reach another platform on the left. On the
next platform, you can reach a Star and a Candle. Continue following the
platforms to the left and eventually you will reach a static platform with a
Star and a Ring on it.
From this platform, stretch James upwards. He will be able to grab hold of a
teddy's face here and pull himself up. Grab the Strawberries from above the
teddies. From here, you should jump to the right. There is a small, ball
shaped platform here. From it, you can reach a larger platform on the right.
On here there is a Rainbow and a Star. Follow the ball-shaped platform along
to the right. Once you land on a larger platform, drop down to the right. Just
to the left is a Vacuum. Head to the right and kill the Snake.
Jump over the gap here and proceed to the right. Jump to the high ledge here
and grab the items. Drop off of the ledge and head to the right. After
dropping down, collect the Penguin (item) before dropping down again. Kill the
Gingerbread Man down here. Grab the items and use the stretch to get back out
of here.
You should now go down the first gap that you skipped over. Collect the
Pudding on the right, but watch out for the Bird. Drop to the next floor, then
jump over the gap. Kill the Snake and collect the Jellybean. Now drop down to
the left.
You can go one of two ways here. Go to the right and collect the items here.
Now, head over to the left hand side. Down here you will find the EXIT. Don't
go through yet though. Instead, run to the right and collect the items.
Remember to avoid the Poison. Stretch James to reach the Cross. You can now go
through the EXIT.

ENEMIES : Blue Boy, Bus, Cardy Bird, Snake
Head to the right and jump over a couple of gaps. After the second, you should
stretch James upward and make your way through a gap in the ceiling. Collect
the Goblet and the Star up here, then drop back through the gap.
Jump over the next gap and kill a couple of Snakes. After another gap is
another Snake. Jump over one more gap, then you can stretch James through
another gap in the ceiling. Up here, head to the left. Collect the items
around here, then bounce on top of the Bus to get to the higher ledge on the
left.
Up here, grab some Apples and continue to the left. Here you will find a
trampoline. Collect the items to the left before using it to reach the high
platform on the left. Grab the items here as well as the one Cross on the
left. Once you are ready, use the trampoline to reach the platform on the
right.
On here you will find Wings. This is a Power-Up that allows you to fly. Fly
over to the right, collecting the items on the platforms as you go. Eventually
you will reach EXIT 1. Going through EXIT 1 will lead you to the Stage 3.
If you decide to carry on, you can always come back after collecting more
items or you can leave through EXIT 2. If you go through EXIT 2, you won't get
to play the Stage 3.
Go through the gap underneath EXIT 1. Head to the right and you will come to a
lone Coin sat on a platform. Go past this and you will reach a long, thick,
stripy pole. Fly to the top of the pole and you should be able to move through
it. Follow it down and collect the Stars at the bottom.
Fly back out of this little area. Drop down the other side of the pole. An
opening will appear on the left. Watch out for the Cardy Birds and collect the
items in this area. Once you are ready, head back towards EXIT 1.
Once there, drop to the floor and head to the left. Go down the gap here. Now,
go to the right and drop down the gap here. At the bottom is a Blue Boy. Take
him out and collect the Telephone.
Go back up the drop that you just came from. As long as you have the Wings,
you can use the gap in the ceiling to the right. Up here, there is a Star. Go
to the right and collect the Coin. Drop down to the right and you will see
that you can move through the wall to the left. In here is a Globe. Now head
back to the right.
Go past the Blue Boys to the right and you will come to EXIT 2. Remember, if
you go through here instead of EXIT 1, you will miss out on the Stage 3 and go
directly to 4.

Jump through the pole on the right. Go through the next pole and land in the
cannon. The cannon will fire you straight upwards. You need to press the jump
button to gain enough height to get to the next platform. On here collect the
Penguins and the Coins.
Next, you should jump into the cannon up here. Press A to gain enough height
but make sure you move to the right as you ascend. This is to avoid any pain
by hitting the spikes. You should land on a ledge. If you jump back out
towards the spikes and come back on yourself. You should pass through the pole
here. Collect the items here before heading through the EXIT below.

ENEMIES : Bullet
Head to the right before jumping up to the next level. Go to the right and
collect the Coin and the Globe. You should now work your way upward and grab
the Ring and the Star at the top. Watch out for the Bullets (Bullet Bills
anyone?) and drop down to the right.
Continue avoiding the Bullets and head to the right. You should jump up where
the Ring is. Grab the Ice Cream at the top and walk to the right. Drop down
here then use to platforms on the right to get to the higher ground. Make your
way along here and avoid the Bullets as you drop down.
Here you will see the EXIT. You can head to the left and collect the four
Coins, but you risk being harmed by the Bullets. If you are low on health,
it's probably better if you ignore them and go through the EXIT.

The Giant Teddy has spikes underneath him. He will stomp down in one of three
places and if you are caught by it James will be harmed. First of all, you
should just avoid the stomps, just to work out where they hit.
Once you have a feel for it, perch yourself on the edge of one of the
platforms. Make sure you are out of the way and wait for the Teddy to stomp.
As soon as he has done this, jump squarely on his head. If you touch his
shoulders instead, James will be harmed.
If you press A as you hit the Teddy, you will shoot high into the air. In this
time, the Teddy will move and you will have time to come down on his head
again. You can keep this up without ever touching the floor. However, if you
are struggling with this, you can wait for the Teddy to stomp. You can then
jump on his head and return to the floor. After a few hits, the Teddy will
explode and you will be victorious!

ENEMIES : Cardy Bird, Snake
Go to the right and jump over the spike pit. Collect the items on the
platform, but watch out for the Cardy Birds. Jump over the next spike pit.
Above the next pit is a platform. As soon as you touch it, it will move to
the right. Jump to the next platform, collecting the Apples as you go.
Collect the Cherries as you jump to the next platform. From this platform,
just leap to the right and you will land back on the ground. Head to the right
and after a long-ish path, you will reach another gap with a moving platform
above it.
Jump on the platform. You should jump to the right, but don't make the ledge
on the other side. If you drop short, you will land on a chocolate platform
below. Head to the right and collect all the lovely items here. Once you are
ready, go back out to the platform and stretch James to get to the path above.
Press on to the right. Down here there is a huge slope. If you run down this,
when you reach the bottom you will go through EXIT 1. This is not a good
thing. EXIT 1 is not really an exit at all. Using it will put you back at the
beginning of this stage.
To avoid the exit, jump down the slope instead of running. At the bottom, jump
onto the platform above the exit. Let the platform move up and when it stops,
jump straight up. If you do this right, you will continue moving upward, taken
by some invisible force. Grab the items here, then drop back down.
You should now go back to the place where the platform first stopped. Now
follow the platform to the left. You will reach a fork in the road. If you go
to the left (as opposed to up) you will reach EXIT 2. Going through here will
take you straight to Stage Two. However, even if you go the other way, you
will still leave via this exit. You will just pickup some items first.
If you go up, head to the right at the top. Watch out for the Snakes and pick
up the items here. Now head over to the left. Go down the slope and you will
land on a bunch of chocolate bars. Jump to the platform on the left, then
follow the platforms along as they move.
Eventually, you will reach solid ground with item boxes. Collect the contents
of the boxes then jump on the platform above. As this platform moves, you will
be able to reach the higher platform on the right. Follow these platforms
along and you will reach a spoon with an Umbrella on it.
From the spoon, leap to the platform on the right. Follow the chocolate and
platforms along to the right until you reach solid ground again. You can now
head to the right and leave through EXIT 2.

ENEMIES : Cardy Bird
Leap onto the moving platform to the right and use this to get to the next
cake. From here, use another platform to reach another cake. Here you will see
a couple more platforms to the right. You can do this the easy way or the hard
way. The hard way involves following all the platforms along high into the
air. The easy way is to drop onto the plate holding the cake. Here you will
find Wings.
You can follow the platforms along, collecting any items that are lying about,
or you can just fly straight up until you have to stop. At this point, you
should head to the right and you can move onto this higher floor. As soon as
you do this, you will find a CHECKPOINT. Hit it, then fly over the cake.
On the other side you will find a lot of item boxes and some Wings. Once you
are ready, go through the gap in the ceiling to move to the next area. Watch
out for the Cardy Birds and go through the gap in the ceiling here on the
left. The gap is on the right hand side next. After this, it is on the left
(this part is pretty repetitive).
There is one more gap to get through. It is in the centre of the screen. At
the top of this next area, you need to collect a couple of Penguins (2) before
going through the EXIT.

Follow the sweet platforms along (collecting four Stars on the way) until you
reach a trampoline. You will probably be tempted to do a big jump on it.
Forget about that. Just bounce onto the sweet to the right. Follow the sweets
along and you will reach solid ground. Collect the Penguins (2) before leaving
through the EXIT.

ENEMIES : Cardy Bird, ChooChoo
Bounce on the ChooChoo to hit the underside of the item boxes. Unfortunately,
just stretching won't work. However, you can use it to collect the items.
Take a long running jump to clear the spike pit. On the other side, take the
Umbrella from the item box.
Head to the right and run beneath the ChooChoo that is moving through the
small gap. Wait until it moves to the left, then jump to the higher floor.
Run down the slope and leap over the spike pit. On the other side, there are
two ChooChoos moving back and forth. Stand to the left and wait for the lower
one to appear. Bounce on it to destroy it. This will probably take a couple of
takes.
Go to the right and collect the Cherries from the item boxes. Take a flying
leap to the right to clear the spike pit. Here you will reach a CHECKPOINT.
Collect the Penguin on the right (1). Use the ChooChoos to reach the higher
item boxes. Now proceed to the right.
Make a few big jumps over the spike pits. On the other side collect the Coin
from the higher ground. Use the ChooChoo to reach the higher platform where
you can collect the items (but watch out for the Cardy Bird).
Use the ChooChoo to reach the other higher platform. Grab the items then drop
back down. Collect a couple of Penguins (3) before heading through the EXIT.

ENEMIES : Divebomber
This is a side-scrolling level. If James gets caught between the edge of the
screen and an obstacle, you will lose a life. So beware. Head to the right
and watch out for the Diverbomber. You don't have to kill it, just avoid in
initial dive. There are another couple of Divebombers before you reach the end
of this carriage.
Make a big jump over the top-most crate. From here stay on the roof of the
cars as you avoid another Divebomber. Head along the roof of the cars, then
leap onto the next carriage. Avoid the two Divebombers here and you will come
to the end of the carriage.
You should move as quickly as possible now. There are two tall towers here.
You should get over them as quickly as possible, to avoid being crushed by the
screen. After you make it over the second, make sure you get on top of the
carriage. Now, collect the Star and head through the EXIT.

ENEMIES : Bouncer, Bully, Cardy Bird, ChooChoo, Flying Bully
Head to the right and you will meet a Bully near some Cherries. Watch out for
the falling girder just to the right of the Cherries. If you stop just short
of it, the girder will fall without harming James. Head to the right but
avoid another falling girder. You can tell which ones fall, because they have
magnets attached to the end.
After this, you will meet a ChooChoo. Use it to bounce to the higher platform.
Collect the Coin and the Rainbow up here, before dropping down. Watch out for
the falling girder (it's the first one that you come to). The second one will
fall also.
You should now follow the girder platforms along. Watch out for the Cardy
Bird. Wait for it to go to the right before jumping on the platform. When it
goes to the left, jump on the Bully's head. Keep following the platforms along
until one of them is released.
Jump to the next platform and you will see a Bouncer in the middle of the
spike pit. Wait until it is on the way down, then leap over it. There's
another one directly after it, so jump over this one too.
On the other side, take the top-most path to avoid the Bullies. At the end,
a separate girder will move up and try to squash you. Take action to make sure
this doesn't happen. Jumping over it should do it.
Jump over the Bouncer on in the next spike pit. You will now be faced with
another Bouncer. If you bounce on its head, you can pass through the gap in
the ceiling. Up here there are a lot of items, but there are also a lot of
Flying Bullies. Avoid the Bullies and collect the items. Once you are done,
drop back through the way you came.
Jump over the next Bouncer and watch out for the Bully here. Go through the
CHECKPOINT here. There are a lot of items on the platforms above. If you are
low on health, you should leave them, as they are protected by Cardy Birds.
If you want to get the items, head to the right and bounce off of the ChooChoo
here to gain enough height.
Just to the right (on the floor) is a ChooChoo. There are three platforms
above. On of them has Cartridges on, so use the stretch to reach it. Don't
touch the other platforms, because they will move up and squash you. You can
find some more Cartridges on the final platform. Drop to the ground.
Follow the platforms along the spike pit. Even if you can't see a platform,
it will be there to the right. Watch out for the Cardy Birds as you make one
of these jumps. You will come to three platforms. One will move up and try to
crush you and another will move down just to confuse you. After this take a
big jump to the right and you will be back on the ground.
Head to the right and use the platform to move up to the EXIT. Make sure it
doesn't squash you though.

Go to the right and bounce on the Evil Car to kill it. Ignore the ? box, it
only contains a ChooChoo. Empty the item boxes, but watch out for the Wheely
that will roll toward you. Jump over the bolt, but watch out for another
Wheely. Now head up the slope.
At the top is a ? box. Hit it and a ChooChoo will come out. Bounce on the
ChooChoo to reach to the high ledge on the right. You can't stretch to reach
this, because there is a Cardy Bird in the way. Once up here, head to the left
and watch out for the Evil Car.
To the left is another ? box. Hit it and you will find your first vehicle in
the game- the car! Head to the right in the car and drop back to the floor.
Head to the right and you will come to a bolt. Jump over it and run into the
long line of ChooChoos.
Jump over the next bolt here, and take the lower path. Run down the ChooChoos
here and you will find a Penguin (1). Next to the Penguin is a switch. Jump on
it to open a path up further back in the stage. Head to the left and you will
eventually come to the open path.
Down here you will find a lot of Bells and some Stars too. You will need to
leave the car down here and stretch to get out. Go to the right and take the
upper path. Watch out for the ChooChoos here and you will reach the EXIT. Make
sure you have collected the Penguin, otherwise it won't be open.

There are a couple of ways to approach this. My favoured way is to wait until
the car has moved to the left, away from the overhead girder. Bounce off of
the roof of one of the smaller Evil Cars to gain height. Keep the A button
held down and come down on the roof of the giant car.
You should continue holding down A, and keep bouncing off of the roof of the
giant car. You can see where the car has moved to when it jumps. Beware
though, you need to hit the roof of the car. If you come down on the hood,
James will be harmed.
The other way to do this is to stand on the overhead girder. Wait for the
giant car to jump close to the edge, then drop down onto its roof. Remember to
press A to bounce back up to the girder. Repeat this until the car has blown
up.
Like I said, I like the first way the best, but choose the way the works for
you.

Hit the ? box to find a bathtub. This is the second vehicle in the game. Jump
into the bath and you will notice that you can fly. Follow the path of bubbles
to the right, collecting the items as you go. Soon you will reach the end and
you can go through the EXIT.

Head to the right and just run into the Cardy Birds with the bath to kill
them. Collect the Lips and the Sweets. Fly up onto the higher path. Go beneath
the plugs and you will see two soaps stacked up. Grab the Rainbows (skip the
Poison) and move into the side of the soaps to enter a bonus area.
Collect all the Telephones in here before leaving. Now, head to the right and
fly at a level about the plugs. Collect the items here. Continue along this
path and run into the Bullies to kill them. You will come to a stack of
sponges with items behind. If you run into the sponges they will move you
upward. If you judge this right, you can move past the sponges and collect the
items.
Collect the card suits above, then follow the path to the right. At the end,
pick up the Star and the Globe. Once you are ready, follow the lower route to
the left. When the path changes direction, keep following it. Kill the Bullies
then head past the big bath here. Grab the items before going into the bath.
Make your way to the right, over the soap. Wait for the blue soaps to move up
before you run past them. If you get squashed by one, you will lose a life.
Let the end two soaps break off and take you to the right.
Make sure you jump over the soaps that cause an obstacles, before landing back
on the moving platform. Leap over the duck too (collect the Star) then get
back onto solid ground. Jump to where the Umbrella is and you will be taken
upward by some invisible force.
This will take you to another bonus area. Hit the ? box to reveal a bathtub.
Jump in it and collect the Mugs before exiting. Head to the right but beware
that the floor will rise up where the Cross is and you can easily get crushed.
Use the two bars of soap on the right to get over the spike pit. Jump over all
the obstacles here. Some are pretty big, so your jumps will have to be too.
Eventually you will reach solid ground.
Watch out for the Bullies and collect the Watermelons. At the end of the
platform, drop off and land on a lower one. Use the soaps to move over the
spike pit.
When you reach the massive stack of soaps, jump as high as you can. You should
move up to the topmost soaps and they in turn will take you upward. Collect
the Coins up here. You can now drop back down, then head through the EXIT on
the right.

probably fall down a spike pit or be beaten around by numerous enemies. Head
to the right and collect the Hammers. Watch out for the Cardy Bird and jump
over the pit.
Beware of the Bullies on the other side. Jump over them and proceed up the
slope. Leap over the next pit, collecting the Star on the way. Avoid the Cardy
Bird and use the upper path here. Hit the ? box to reveal a Plane. This is
the third vehicle in the game. Jump in it and fly to the right.
Grab the items from the ducks heads. After moving up a slope, you will see
some Armor. Collect this for invincibility. Continue forward, watch out for
the Cardy Birds. Grab a couple more items, then head through the EXIT.

ENEMIES : Cardy Birds, Snake, Wheely
Head to the right and use the chess pieces to get to the higher floor. Head
up the slope, but watch out for the Wheely that will come rolling down. Just
leap over it and you'll be fine.
At the top of the slope there are a couple of Cardy Birds. You can risk trying
to get the Bells, or you can just proceed to the left. Use the rooks to get to
the next floor. Jump as the Cardy Bird is over to the left.
Make your way slowly up the incline. If you run too fast, you won't be able to
react to the Wheelies as the roll down the slope. Bounce on each Wheely's head
twice to defeat it. Merely jumping over them won't help, as they will roll
back up the hill and cause you more hassle.
At the top of the slope, stretch James towards the ceiling. Up here you will
see a Cardy Bird. You need to stand as far to the left as possible and then
stretch. Whilst the Bird is over to the right, quickly drop onto the ledge on
the left.
Run to the left and collect the Stars here. You will probably have to take a
hit from the Cardy Bird, but you will still have gained two energy points.
Jump as far to the right as possible and you will land on the boiler pipes.
From here you can reach the ledge on the left.
Run down the slope here, then stretch upwards to grab the ceiling. Drop onto
the floor on the right. Try to land in front of the chess pieces instead of
on top of them. This is to allow you to avoid the Cardy Birds.
Go up the slope then stretch to the roof. You will now be able to reach the
next floor. Again, try to land in front of the chess pieces. Continue to the
left and move up to the next level.
Watch out for the Snake here and head to the right. Collect the Bells along
the way and deal with the Cardy Birds. At the end of the platform, just walk
off the end. This way you will collect all the items as you fall.
Run down all the slopes here, collecting the card suits and Umbrellas as you
go. At the bottom of the final slope is the EXIT. However, you don't need to
go through it yet. Walk over to the left and go through the gap beneath the
slope. Be on your toes here, because you are likely to be attacked by a
Wheely. Grab the nearby Cross for 50,000 points before finally going through
the EXIT.

ENEMIES : Bouncer, Divebomber, Snowman, Winged Bully
Stretch towards the ceiling and you can reach the Star. Head to the right and
collect the Coin here. Wait for the Winged Bullies to come towards you, then
move back to the left and jump on the platform here. From this position you
can leap over the top of them. Drop back to the floor and collect the
Rainbow.
Here you will reach a spike pit. Jump a short way over the pit and come back
to land on the platform. This will provoke the Divebomber into moving forward
and out of the way. There's a Bouncer in the middle of the pit too. Perform
a big jump to evade the Bouncer.
From this platform, you should leap to the next, but watch out for the Bouncer
in this pit too. Let the Divebomber move forward here before jumping over the
spike pit.
On the other side, there are a couple of Snowmen. They will leap up and try to
harm you. The best way of dealing with them is to bounce high off of their
heads until they are defeated. Collect the nearby items before moving off to
the right.
Stand at the edge of the spike pit and jump over it, before landing back on
the edge. This should cause the Divebombers to move out of the way. Leap
across the dice until you reach the third stack. There will be a Bouncer in
the gap after this one. Jump over the Bouncer, but watch out for the nearby
Cardy Bird.
On the next couple of platforms will be able to reach a T-Shirt or two. After
this deal with the Cardy Bird and move along the platform. From here leap to
the stack of dice in the spike pit. Jump over the Bouncers here until you
reach solid ground.
Along this platform there are a few ! blocks containing Flowers. Watch out for
the Snowmen. Continue to the right and jump onto the stack of dice. Leap to
the next stack, but watch out for the Bouncer between them.
From this second stack, you will be able to see a CHECKPOINT on a higher
platform. The CHECKPOINT is sat in between two pots of Poison. You need to
produce a big leap and land right between the Poisons.
Stand on the edge of this platform and it a smaller platform will break away
and move diagonally downwards. Watch out for the enemies that can easily take
you out. At the end of it's travel, you can alight onto a die.
Make your way along the dice until you reach a more solid platform of dice.
Hit the ! block for an item and evade the Winged Bully. Watch out for the
Snowmen and Divebombers and you will reach the end of the string of dice.
Leap across the gap here, but watch out for the Bouncer. On this next platform
are a lot of stacks of CDs. Once you are past these, jump onto and follow the
next platform.
Continue to the right and you will reach a pink dice. Stand on it and it will
move upwards. Alight onto the blue die and this will begin to move also.
Leap over the Divebomber as it moves forward and make sure you land safely on
the right. Leap over the Bouncer and take out the Snowman on the next string
of dice.
From here you can reach solid ground on the right. However, you should NOT
land on the button close to the edge of the platform. If you do this, James
will be squashed by a falling platform.
Once you are past the button, hit the ! blocks for some items. Just to the
right is the EXIT. You can go through it to finish the level. However, there's
still a little mileage left yet.
Run at the EXIT and leap over it. Continue to the right and James will go
through an invisible door. There are three groups of items to be collected in
this area before you leave through EXIT 2 in the top right hand corner.

The Queen of Hearts will fly over head and shoot cards down at you. If you get
hit by a card, you will lose energy. However, the cards will pose little
threat to you throughout this fight.
Move over to the left and you will see a thin platform. Jump up onto the
second level (but not the third) and stay as far to the left as possible. In
this position, the Queen won't be able to harm you.
The Queen will dart about, following a continuous path. You need to wait for
the Queen to come at you from the right, at a height just below you. You can
now jump to the right and land on the Queen's head. You need to hit her
directly on the head, otherwise it won't work and James will be harmed.
Once this is done, you should return to your original position. After hitting
the Queen ten times, she will be defeated and you will pass this level.

ENEMIES : Power Flower, Soldier
If you head straight to the right you will see a Power Flower. Bounce on it's
head to take it out. Move back to the left and jump to the higher ground, all
the time being aware of the Soldier. On the left is the next platform with a
Cocktail on it.
Stretch towards the roof and grab hold. Shimmy to the right and drop down onto
the Soldier. Collect the items and jump to the right. Down here you can grab
a few more collectables. After this, make your way over the wall of lego
bricks.
On the other side, proceed to the right. Here you will find a Solider
protecting a Penguin. Grab the ceiling to the left of the Solider, then drop
down on his head. With him out of the way, you can p-p-p-pickup the Penguin
:D
Head back out to the left and stretch upwards to the ceiling. Shimmy across
to the right and drop down to take the Solider out. On this platform is a
Star. Drop to the ground for some more collectables.
Jump across the gap to find another Penguin (2). You can now drop down the
pit. Bounce on the head of the Solider before moving to the right. Here is the
next Penguin (3). Stretch upwards and grab the roof. Watch out for the
Soldier and make your way slowly down the slope.
At the bottom move onto the lower ground and head to the left. Grab the roof
and shimmy across the spike pit. On the other side is a Cross and a Star.
Head back to the other side. Jump onto the stack of bricks on the right.
From here stretch upwards to the roof. Shimmy to the right and you will see
EXIT 1 on the right. If you go through it you will move directly to Stage 3.
However, you DO NOT want to do this. If you do, then you will have a lot of
work to get through the following levels. I won't be covering this in this
FAQ because it isn't needed.
What you need to do is shimmy over the top of EXIT 1 and drop down to the
right of it. You will come down on EXIT 2 and be taken straight to Stage 2.

This stage has a bit of fairy-tale about it. More specifically, it is home to
a giant beanstalk. It would be pretty wearisome to climb it under normal
circumstances. However, since you are sat in a Plane, it would be a good idea
to use it.
On your way up, you should watch out for the enemies. The Plane will take
them out, but if James touches them, he will be ejected from the Plane. This
can be a bit of a pain, because you will have to go all the way back to the
bottom to recover it.
If you fly directly to the top left hand corner, you will find a Crown and a
Cross. From here go to the right you will find the EXIT.

ENEMIES : Bouncer, Cardy Bird, Panic Pencil
Jump over the spikes along the platforms until you reach solid ground. Watch
out for the Panic Pencils here. Since there are Cardy Birds flying over head,
it isn't wise to try and take out the Pencil. Instead jump over them to avoid
being harmed.
Hit the ! blocks on the way to pick up some collectables. A couple of them
will even give up energy Stars. Eventually you will reach another spike pit
with a Bouncer in it. There are four or five pits with Bouncers in to make
your way over.
Once the spike pits have stopped, you will come to a flight of stairs. A few
steps up, you should drop through them. Down here you will find some
collectables. Once you have them make your way up the stairs. At the top pick
up a couple of Stars. Make you way down the stairs on the other side.
Jump over the spike pit and collect both of the Penguins (2) on the other
side. This will open up the EXIT at the top of the stairs.

Go right and wait for the Snake to move past the over head spikes. Bounce on
the Snake to take it out. Proceed to the right and repeat this with the next
couple of Snakes.
After this you will see a Drum on the roof. Jump up and collect it before
bouncing on the Snake. Grab the rest of the Drums as you proceed to the right.
Keep going until you run into a Snake or two. Pick up the Violins that are
over head.
Further along you will see a little pyramid shape and a big V pointing down.
DO NOT go past the pyramid, because there are invisible spikes past it. To get
around the spikes, you need to jump onto the V and then clear the pyramid on
the other side.
As you move to the right, the odd piano key will rise up. You can just ignore
them until you come to the end of the platform. The second to last key will
rise up. To avoid falling into the pit, just approach the second-to-last key
slowly.
Stand on the final key, then jump to the next key way out in the spike pit.
As you land on the key it will rise, just the same as the others. Once you
are across the pit, make your way over the platforms with guitars on.
Soon after this you will land on a trumpet. From this jump onto the pipes on
the right. Follow these along and you will come to another trumpet and some
Cardy Birds. Jump onto the higher trumpet and from here you can reach a blue
guitar pick.
Jump onto the pick and it will begin to move to the right. Follow the blue
picks along the right and eventually they will change colour. The red picks
will remain still. The yellow one will rise up and you should head to the
right once it has.
On the right is the EXIT. However, this stage has one last cruel trick. One
of the keys will rise up and try to trap you against the spikes above. If you
run quickly towards the EXIT you will avoid this little problem.

Go a little way to the right and jump through the gap overhead onto the pipe
on the right. From here you can reach the gap in the pipes on the left.
Follow this path and you will reach the mouth of a trumpet. Go in here.
Grab the collectables from this area, then leave through the invisible door in
the bottom right hand corner. You will now be back where you began. Head back
along the pipes and drop to the right.
Stretch upwards and grab the roof. Shimmy across to the right and stand on
the platform. Drop down to the lower pipe and the end will break away and move
to the right. Jump onto the yellow guitar pick over here and it will move up
towards a blue pick. Jump onto the blue pick and it will move to the left.
When the pick stops, jump into the gap in the pipes. Follow this path to the
left and you will reach the EXIT.

The Ballerina will definitely be the hardest boss that you have faced so far.
There are two platforms moving up and down on either side of the area. Stand
on one of these.
The Ballerina will be jumping back and forth. Your job is to bounce on her
head to harm her (the same as all the other bosses). To achieve this, you need
to wait for the Ballerina to pause for a second, which will give you a chance.
You should return to the moving platform after this.
If you Ballerina doesn't stop, then you need to predict her movements. Stay on
the platform whilst you watch which way she jumps. If she is continually
jumping left and right, wait until she is just about the move, then jump to
the place where she is likely to be in a second or two. This will allow you
enough time to hit her and get away.
After bouncing on the Ballerina eight times and she will be defeated.

Don't bother hitting the ? block because there's only a Bully inside. Instead
use it to get on top of the tent to the right. From here you can reach a small
cloud on the left. If you jump through the big cloud above, you should find an
Cross for an extra life and some Wings.
The Wings will help this stage fly by (geddit? :D). Anyway, you can skip all
the boring crap by flying about it all. Head to the right. Make your way
through the clouds and you will find three different coloured Baubles in a
row.
Soon after this the red and yellow floor will rise up high into the air. When
this happens, come down on it's left side and you will find a some
collectables including a Cross next to a spike pit. Once you have these,
fly high into the air again.
On your way to the right, you will find another Cross hanging in the air.
Afterwards you the yellow and red floor will rise again. Make your way along
the top of it and you will come across a Cross and a Star up here as well as
a Coin or two. Watch out for the Buses up here.
Head back to the left and come down the side of the yellow and red. You
should see a narrow tunnel on the right. Make your way down it and you will
find a ? block. Hit it unfortunately for you, it isn't possible to get in the
Plane whilst you have Wings. If you ever get to this part without the use of
Wings, don't forget the location of the plane.
Head back out of the tunnel and drop to the ground. Down here you will find
the EXIT.

This is pretty much a bonus stage. There's a cannon in the centre of the
floor. Hold the jump button before it fires to gain more height. There are
collectables spread out in the air. If you get to the full height of the room,
you can find Umbrellas, that will aid you in your item-hunt. Once you are
done, leave through the EXIT, which is on a platform at the top and in the
middle of the room.

Go to the left and enter the tent here. In this room you will find a Plane.
Leave back into the main area and fly over to the right. Watch out for the
Cardy Birds on your way.
Eventually you will come to a cuddly staircase. This may be a confusing
description, but that's what it is. You can get beneath this staircase
through a gap in the right hand side. Down here you will find the EXIT, but it
won't be lit up. There are four Penguins to be found first.
Over to the right you will find a ! block containing some WINGS. If you
somehow lost the Plane, you can use these. Fly over to the left and you will
find a gap in the ceiling. There's a sort of cross-roads here with four paths.
You should go down each of these paths.
In each room there's a Penguin. Watch out for the Space Invaders (they won't
fire at you) and the Buses. Once you have all four, go back to the EXIT and
it will be lit up.

Okay, so you made it to the final boss. Congrats! This is the most difficult
boss battle in the game, though if you follow the advice that I give you, then
you shouldn't struggle.
The Evil Snowman will be moving back and forth on a platform over your head.
There will be a smaller Snowman on the ground causing you hassle. It may be
your instinct to take out the smaller Snowman, but DON'T! You'll need him soon
enough, so keep him alive and just avoid him for now.
You should stay well over to the left hand side of the area, close to the
wall. Wait for the Evil Snowman to stop moving. You'll know when he has
because he won't appear on your screen. Quickly bounce off of the smaller
Snowman's head so that you gain enough air to get onto the higher platform.
Up here you will find the Evil Snowman has no head! In fact he will have
thrown it to the right and it will bounce along the floor. Whilst this is
happening, you can bounce on the headless Snowman's head and cause him damage.
If you are good enough, you can bounce straight off of the smaller Snowman
and land right on top of the Evil Snowman.
Once you have hit him once, you should return to your original starting
position. Hopefully the little Snowman will be respawned every time you defeat
him. Repeat this move another seven times (eight in total) and the Evil
Snowman will die!
Woo! Sit back and watch the ending sequence.

BLUE BOY : Makes very infrequent appearances throughout the game. Runs
back and forth, but has no specific attack. He looks like a
glove or hand with a light blue tinge.
BOUNCER : Appears in the centre of spike pits. Often they are hidden
and will jump out and surprise you. They look like the ghosts
from Pac-Man, except that they have legs. There are two
colours: orange and yellow. The orange ones have smaller
jumps and don't hide so often, whilst the yellow ones can
leap high into the air and cannot often be seen before they
attack.
BULLET : Pretty much the same as Bullet Bills from the Super Mario
series. They are fired out of cannons that are usually
embedded in walls. Bounce once on top of the Bullet to knock
it out. Alternatively, you can just avoid them.
BULLY : The Bully is a recurring enemy throughout the game. They just
walk about at a medium pace. However, they are often
positioned so that they are beneath obstacles that can harm
James.
BUS : The Bus only shows up once or twice. It will remain
stationary and shake until it will unexpectedly launch itself
at you. Watch out for this potentially lethal attack.
CARDY BIRD : Easily the most common enemy. Pretty easy to spot, they are
flying creatures made from playing cards. They just fly back
and forth between two set points. This is usually to protect
something such as a hoard of collectables or the path ahead.
You shouldn't ever really need to tackle these, evasion is
the best policy.
CHOOCHOO : The ChooChoo is a train. These guys (like most enemies) just
go back and forth between two points. They are often placed
in difficult positions such as inside narrow tunnels.
Bouncing off of the top of ChooChoo can be rewarding as it
will give you a lot of air to reach collectables or higher
ground.
DIVEBOMBER : Diverbombers are planes. They will hold their position until
you move into range. Once you do they will hurl themselves
towards you. Later in the game their movements become less
severe. Definitely one to avoid rather than one to attack.
EVIL CAR : The Evil Car will move back and forth at high speed. Other
than that it has no attacks. Killing this is easy, so just
keep bouncing until it has gone!
FLYING BULLY : The Flying Bullies can be a bit of a pain in the arse. They
look the same as normal Bullies, except...well...they have
wings. Usually they come in gangs of two or three and can
be found in narrow passages or near the EXIT or some such
place. They can be pretty difficult to kill, so avoid them
now!
GINGERBREAD MAN: Another back and forther. Pretty much the same as the Blue
Boy except he's made of gingerbread. Ever seen Shrek? Looks
like the little bloke from that (I dunno what his real name
is).
HEFFALUMP : Found only within the Circus World. This is like a hybrid
between a balloon and an elephant. It will float into the
air periodically. It will take a lot of hits (8) before you
can kill this bad boy, so probably one to avoid rather than
attack.
PANIC PENCIL : The Pencil moves back and forth pretty slowly. It will
basically shuffle from side to side. It's much easier to skip
these rather than attack them, since they are usually found
in awkward situations.
POWER FLOWER : Another one that makes a very short cameo appearance. Is
really just a flower with a face and legs. Usually stays
still unless you move close to it, when it will come to try
to TOUCH you and everything.
SNAKE : Another common enemy. The Snake is...well...a green snake.
Moves back and forth over a present distance. Bounce on it
a couple of times or just jump over it.
SNOWMAN : The Snowman will edge towards you at an even pace. Just
before it reaches you it will jump in the air. Either pass
beneath it or bounce on it's head.
SOLDIER : The Soldier is another generic back and forth character. He
takes the form of one of the Queen's guards. With a red suit
and one of those stupid tall black hats.
SPACE INVADERS : They will make one very brief appearance in this game. They
come in either blue or yellow. They will float in the air and
move left to right and back again very slowly. Unlike the
actual Space Invaders they won't shoot at you. Either ignore
them or use the Plane to go on the attack.
WHEELY : Easily one of the most annoying foes in the game, the Wheely
is found around slopes and inclines. They will first appear
by rolling down a hill, but if you don't take them out, they
aren't against rolling back up either. When climbing a slope
that you know Wheelies are on, you should proceed slowly so
that you have time to avoid them. The best advice is to
bounce on them twice to defeat them.

INVINCIBILITY : At the start of the game, get onto the rooftop just on the
right. Collect the items in this order: CAKE, HAMMER, EARTH,
APPLE, TAP. This spells out CHEAT and will make James
invincible for a brief period.
It should be noted that you can also activate this cheat by
collecting the items in the same order after you make your way
over the third spike pit in Sports World.
LEVEL SELECT : Enter the INVICIBILITY CHEAT as above. Complete a single
world. After this you can enter any world that you wish.
RESTORE HEALTH: In the first world (Sports World) go right and jump over the
first spike pit and collect the items in this order: PENGUIN,
OIL CAN, WINE GLASS, EARTH, RACKET. This spells out POWER.
