Devil Crush, or Dragon's Fury as it was called on the Sega Genesis/ Mega Drive,
is definitely one of the greatest pinball games in gaming history, up with the
likes of Psycho Pinball, Pokemon Pinball and Sonic Spinball. Despite the
ongoing argument over which is better, Devil Crush or Dragon's Fury, it is
still a treasure in the gaming world. Personally, I haven't played Devil Crush
so I can't compare, but I do know the bonus stages differ between the 2
versions of the game, so for now, Dragon's Fury takes my pick.
The graphics are admittedly not great, but better than Devil Crush, and the
music is brilliantly addictive, but also the in-game features and quirks for
getting things like EXtra Balls in odd ways and the 'Last Chance' roulette
when you lose your last ball really makes Dragon's Fury/ Devil Crush stand out
from the crowd.

C: The Bonus Stages
===============================================================================
Remember, this Guide/ Walkthrough is for Dragon's FUry, not Devil Crush, so
some bonus stages are/n't featured here but may/ not be on Devil Crush. Anyway,
on with what you came to read here. :-)
1: Hit the Dragon head on the lower table 10 times approx. to make it open its
mouth. Shoot the ball in its mouth to warp to Bonus Stage 1
2: Make the Star Roulette stop and point at the bottom-left corner of the
upper table (marked by V). Land the ball in that corner/hole to warp to the
Bonus Stage
3: Random Bonus Stage warping from certain holes in the table.
The Stage Itself
________________
Difficulty: 5/10
When you see the actual stage, there are 5 Dragon babies lined up in a row at
the top, and 5 Dragon Eggs lined up in a downward pointing crescent below,
nearer the flippers.
To beat/Perfect this Stage, you have to destroy all of the Dragons at the top.
Sounds simple enough. The Dragon Eggs are just there for extra points and
sometimes for deflecting your ball to/ away from the pit between the flippers.
Tips
____
# Try to shoot the ball back and up the side-walls to land on top of the
Dragons and get in several good hits/ kills.
# When more of the Dragons die and explode, the Stage gets easier, as you get
more room to move around and aim.
# If you can, avoid going into the ball-launchers as they can often make a
deflection shot that sends the ball into the pit and back to the normal table.
Destroy all the main targets to get a PERFECT and some serious points too.
1: Make the Star Roulette stop and point at the top-right corner/ the right
hand of the upper table. Shoot inside to warp to Bonus Stage 2.
2: Random Bonus Stage warping from certain holes in the table.
The Stage Itself

Difficulty: 3/10
The layout of this Stage is simple: 3 gold vases containing bats, left, right
and centre, with 2 ball launchers in the lower corners as usual.
This is probably the easiest and simplest Bonus Stage in the game. Destroy all
3 vases to get a PERFECT, and any bats killed in the process just add to your
ever growing score.
Tips
____
# The ball launchers are very useful for hitting the central vase, although
there is always the risk it could deflect into the pit below, so use at your
own risk.
# To make hitting the side vases easier, use the flipper on the same side as
the vase you want to hit, and hold the ball and then shoot so the ball is shot
backwards into the vase.
# Be aware the bats may deflect you into vases or near the pit so watch the
path of the ball at all times here.
BONUS STAGE 3 (my own personal favourite...cool music and cool Stage overall)
-------------
How to get to it?

1: Make the Star Roulette stop and point at the top-left corner/ the left hand
of the upper table. Shoot inside to warp to Bonus Stage 3.
2: Random Bonus Stage warping from certain holes in the table.
The Stage Itself
________________
Difficulty: 8/10
When the Stage starts, there are 2 sorceror-like enemies on the left and right
sides of the Stage. Both will do some magic thing and they will be both
surrounded by 8 black orbs each. As usal, in the corner, there are 2 ball
launchers (Now I think of it, there is a pair of launchers in all Bonus Stages
so Ill stop mentioning now, only if they are needed for help).
Amyway, the aim of this stage is to destroy both of the sorcerors. To do that,
you have get past their ring-shield. Each orb takes 2 hits to destroy, and the
more you destroy, the fast each ring shield spins trying to protect each
target.
If you survive the many awkward deflections from the ring-shields and manage to
destroy both targets, then you'll see you've only done half of the Bonus Stage
so far, as a strange robot Boss appears in the center of the Stage.
Like everything else, hit it to destroy it. Its split into the base, the 2
arms and the main body. Each section takes 4 hits to blow up, making 16 hits
total. However. the arms are only vulnerable when there isnt any electricity
touching them AND they are outstretched, so the arms are the hardest places to
hit. When the Boss makes that ring of orbs and fires them, just hold the ball
in the flippers until it passes OR have a go at the arms.
Once everything has been destroyed, you get a PERFECT and return to the normal
table.
Tips
____
# Use the ball launchers as little as possible, as the most common result is a
launch into the sorceror's ring-shields followed by a swift Stage exit.
# A good (but hard to make work) trick is to make a small gap in the ring-
shields and then launch the ball into the wall so the ball actually gets in
the gap but also gets stuck against the sorceror, making several hits at once
or even destruction if you're lucky.
# Try not to completely destroy the shileds otherwise they regenerate and you
more or less have to start again.
# Dont go mad when aiming for the BOss' arms. Do one hit at a time so you can
keep control of the ball and prepare your next shot.
1: Make the Star Roulette stop and point upwards at the skull at the very top
of the table. The skull's mouth will open. Shoot inside to warp to the Bonus
Stage.
2: Random Bonus Stage warping from certain holes in the table.
The Stage Itself
________________
Difficulty: 6/10
A simple layout but cunningly harder than it looks. 3 big skulls with eyes
that watch you, and 3 smaller skulls surrounded by orbs.
Again, another simple concept in that you just have to destroy all 3 of the
big skulls. 7 or 8 hits, give or take, blows up each of the big skulls, and 9
(8 orbs plus 1 skull hit) for the smaller versions. However, the small ones
have a nasty habit of deflecting the ball very close to the pit, hence the
higher than you might expect difficulty rating. Otherwise, its not too
stressful at all.
Tips
____
# Dont aim for the bubbles the small skulls are held in at first, or try to
destroy them either, as the big skulls will make another one to replace it.
# Like Bonus Stage 1, try to run the ball up the sides and get in several
good hits/ explosions as quickly as possible.
# If you cant manage that, then aim for the small gaps on either side of the
central skull so you can damage 2 of them at once.
1: Make the Star Roulette stop and point towards the bottom-right corner of
the upper table. Shoot in there to warp to Bonus Stage 5
2: Shoot inside the tower on the lower table 5 times (on the same ball) to
make the tower go red. Shoot inside again to warp to the Bonus Stage.
3: Random Bonus Stage warping from certain holes in the table.
The Stage Itself

Difficulty: 9 or 10/ 10
Purely on what you actually have to do to get a PERFECT. There are flaming
enemies that wander all around the Stage, and dotted strategically on the
floor are blue dots, and a big wooden door at the back.
To win and get that PERFECT, you have to destroy an enemy when it hovers over
a blue dot so that dot then turns red, and to win, you must turn ALL of the
dots red. It sounds easy, but it isn't at all. The enemies move all over the
place before eventually sliding down the pit (which if you follow, will make
you want to scream, especially if you get close and then fail at the end). A
good reflex and control are needed here for those trickier to reach dots.
Tips
____
# Do NOT use the ball launchers on this Bonus Stage. You will most likely hit
an enemy and deflect where you dont want go, If not, you will be launched into
the ball launchers in the top left and right corners (which also act as enemy
generators as you will notice), and if you land in either of these, there's an
80% chance you will launch straight into the pit with no chance of recovery.
# DO destroy the big wooden door at the central-top of the Stage. You get some
bonus points and make another area for enemies to come out of (although at one
point you would have to otherwise one specific dot would be impossible to
light up)
# Keep your calm and your patients, this is almost definitely the longest of
the Bonus Stages to PERFECT.
1: Land inside the crown of the large face to make it go normal coloured. Then
shoot inside either the right hole or bottom left hole of the middle table to
slowly turn the face from normal into a dragon's face. When this is done, aim
for the face's mouth and land inside to warp to Bonus Stage 6.
2: Random Bonus Stage warping from certain holes in the table.
The Stage Itself

Difficulty: 7/10
Unlike this Stage, the concept of this level is very simple, and the targets
very recognisable (The blue snake and the giant-sized head that honestly looks
like it is meditating when it shakes).
The first thing you must do is stun the weird blue snake-like creature. Do
this by hitting it in the head several times until it disappears back inside
the giant head's mouth. Then it will fly out of the mouth and fky freely back
and forth across the screen (ignore the giant head for now). Again, aim for
snake's head so that eventually it will blow up, leaving only the giant head
behind.
If you reach this point, be very careful, as now is the most likely time that
you will fail and fall in the pit. You must now aim for the giant head, but
only when it isnt breathing smoke at you, as that smoke blocks the ball more
or less from reaching the weak point (the face of the head, the rest of it
doesnt take any damage). If you keep control and dont go too fast with it, the
head will eventually explode and you will win, getting a PERFECT in the
process.
Tips
____
# Try to avoid using the ball launchers if you can, but sometimes they do help
when you are going after the snake.
# At the start, hold down the left flipper and the ball may just get lodged
between the snake's head and the giant head, inflicting a fair amount of
damage to it.
# During the snake's second round, hold the ball on the left flipper to force
the snake to fly into it and hit itself twice for easy damage.
Thats' it! You've beaten all 6 of the Bonus Stages!!!
Beat the 6 standard Bonus Stages in the game. When you return to the regular
table, hit ANY single enemy to cause a chain reaction that destroys all of the
enemies and causes the large face to explode, warping you to the Final Stage.
The Stage Itself
________________
Difficulty: 10/10 (Usually because of the lack of lives by the time you
reach this Stage)
There are 2 main differences between this Stage and the others that you've
beaten so far.
1: Falling in the pit will not transport you back to the main table, instead
you will be relaunched back into the Stage again until you lose all of
your balls/ lives
2: The chart on the right hand side has been replaced with a Boss health meter
for you to deplete.
That Boss in question is the guy sitting in the throne at the top, covering
his face. Each skull of health represents 4 hits of damage, and 12 skulls
means that you'll have to hit him 48 times in order to win, on how ever many
lives you have left. If you lose all of your lives, its Game Over and there is
no Last Chance roulette, just Game Over. Full stop. So for me to say 'be
careful' is an understatement.
On either side of the 'King Dragon' as he's called, 2 weird Guardian-like foes
will appear. Although the King Dragon doesn't attack, these Guardians will.
They will either twirl their swords, which makes them invulnerable, or they
will cast some kind of multi-flame shot which completely mucks up the path of
your shot if it was going somewhere. However, these Guardians can be destroyed
but can also be replaced after about 10 seconds of their absence.
After the King Dragon has lost about a third of his health (16 hits or so),
the Guardians will fly away from sight, leaving only you and him to fight it
out. The King Dragon will jump off his throne and land in the exact center of
the stage, tearing off his skin and revealing his face. Now you see why he's
called the King Dragon, he's the boss of all the other enemies you've blown
up so far! And he does not look weak in the slightest.
You will also notice now that your ball has gone a red-glowing colour. It
looks cool, and maybe its something to do with taking down the Dragon half of
him. Either way, he'll start to move slowly all over the Stage. Dont worry
about any surprises, this is a one-on-one duel.
As you'd expect, the King Dragon isn't just going to walk around and take his
punishment just like that, he has a few tricks up his scaly.....arm.....but
you can find out which by the colour of the glow in his hands when he raises
them
Blue: 6 metal orbs will be strategically placed in the Stage and deflect your
shots until they disappear.
Red: 6 metal orbs will appear and slowly circle the King Dragon until they
also disappear (and for a little while, the King Dragon cant be harmed even if
a shot hits him, it acts as though there was no impact if you do hit him).
Black: 5 metal orbs will be fired along the bottom half of the Stage and off
screen.
Each of these attacks usually happens at a specific place, so judging what
will happen where isn't too difficult. Keep at it, don't lose any lives
hopefully, and evnetually, the King Dragon will explode and die!
