Legal Stuff LGSTF
Well, let's take care of the legal crap. It's gotta be there so people don't go
stealing your stuff.
I don't like doing this, but it's for my own good. Oh yeah, paragraphs are plain
out boring, so here's a DO's and DON'T DO's list.
DO's
o Read This Great Guide
o Tell Your Friends About It
o Try Not to Use Card Codes or GameShark Codes
o Ask for Permission to Use on a Webpage or Website
o Send Typos, Extra Information, or Yu-Gi-Oh News
o Learn how to use the "Search" tool, and teach others
DON'T DO's
o Print This, and Say That You Typed It
o TAKE ANYTHING OF MY GUIDE
o Hate Mail, Junk Mail, or etc.
o Put This on a Webpage or Website, without permission
o Steal My ASCII Art
I'm going to have to go and do what m0gster's doing. If you really need some-
thing off of my guide, e-mail me what you want to use, then I'll decide. Other-
wise, don't copy, edit, or do anything with my Guide, except for reading or
printing it out.
Basically, you just follow these directions, and you'll be fine. Cool, Legal
Stuff is done...
Any site may have my guide on it, provided that there is no changed information
in my guide. However, if you want to get the latest version, go to
www.Gamefaqs.com first!
================================================================================
Updates UPDTS
(Update Information)
o Started this great Guide, I'm going to try to make it better than anyone
else's Yu-Gi-Oh FAQ on GameFAQs. I haven't released this yet, completed the
Legal Stuff, and Updates. I'm going to do the Newbie Guide now...
py7133 *4-19-02*
o Whoa! This guide needs to be worked on, well since it's only my second guide,
I'm going to make sure this is a BIG hit! I'm working on finishing the Newbie
Guide, and the Game Walkthrough. py7133 *4-24-02*
o Whew! I'm finally done with most of the guide, and I added an ASCII Art. I
only have to complete the Card Encyclopedia, arrange the Fusions, a Deck Section
and maybe add a FAQ section. py7133 *4-25-02*
o COOL! I ACTUALLY GOT A FULL RATING FOR MY GUIDE!? Well, it's only my second
guide, but it's going to be the best! I'm going to update, and expect a HUGE
UPDATE by Tuesday, next week! py7133 *4-26-02*
Bad news, m0gster's getting angry about me putting his stuff in, so it's bye-
bye for his great stuff.
o Blah, m0gster's stuff are out so now my guide is basically dead. Every now
and then, I'll add some more fusions and maybe GameShark Codes. The only thing
good here is the Newbie Guide and the Walkthrough. Guide Format changed.
py7133 *5-01-02*
o I'm going to have a new partner helping with my guide, his name is Zoltron14.
In this update, I have added 5 new gameshark codes, from Gameshark.com! We're
going to add some card codes, but they will NOT be from m0gster, as we cannot
use them. We will be getting them from the original TCG Cards, or whatever. I
think we're going to start on a card construction section, as I have a lot of
construction pieces. We will be starting an Apprentice section, soon, after I
get done with my school project, this Friday. py7133 *5-04-02*
o Not a really big update, but I added a Gameshark code, and umm... Oh yeah,
I beat Ancient Egypt, and now I'm dueling - DarkNite. How the hell did I beat
him on my first try? I dunno... py7133 *5-05-02*
I've gotten permission from Pokeeiyuu and Blue Eyes for their stuff. That darn
m0gster won't be any competition now! Hahaha! Well, guys wait until Saturday
next week. Or Sunday. There will be a REALLY REALLY good update.
o I'm going to try and start the Card Encyclopedia section, and the umm... Oh
yeah Computer Deck section. py7133 *5-06-02*
o What's with CJayC not updating? Oh well, on this update, I was given
permission from m0gster to put his card codes into my guide. Great! 100% his
card codes, so don't say it is mine! I added some other stuff, I think I'm
going to edit the walkthrough section a lot. py7133 *5-07-02*
o OFFLINE UPDATE: Created the Hall of Decks section, added some more card
entries for the encyclopedia, edited the walkthrough, added an Apprentice
section, and updated the Fusions. py7133 *5-07-02*
o This is starting to get better and better, I haven't had enough time to do the
new sections and update it, because I just got Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories for
Playstation! I'm still going to update it once in a while, and Zoltron14 has up-
dated some card entries. I'm going to fix this guide up, and it will be up with
a lot of corrections. Expect the next one to be a good one, but not so soon!
py7133 *5-14-02*
o Oh man... *grunts and moans* what has gotten into me? I haven't been playing
Dark Duel Stories for a loooong time now... I'm trying to get back into updating
this, but before, it was because of Final Exams, Cramming, Too Much Final
Fantasy VII, Too Much Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories, and TOO MUCH of other games!
Well, now that school's over, and those games have gotten too much of a bore, I
have decided that I am going to update this guide ONCE again. I'm not sure what
it is that I'm updating in this version, but it'll be an update.
py7133 *6-14-02*
o Whahahahah! I'm baaaaaaack! I'm back to updating this guide and this update's
gonna be a moderate one. And I mean it's gonna be real. I'm gonna start by re-
doing the walkthrough. Oh, I added a ritual information area for you ritualers
who don't know how to. It's in the Newbie Guide... Also added a couple of User-
Submitted Decks.
py7133 *10-1-02*
o Hey, I updated Tomino Town 1's decks, and the Card Encyclopedia up to #60.
Also added one Fusion. Took out the Card Constructions section, but maybe will
create a "Good Cards to Construct" section. Keep sending me stuff!!!
py7133 *10-15-02*
o Hmm... this isn't being sent in, so I'm going to try Zipping it, and this time
I hope it updates. Nothing new really added, just one fusion, and some card
encyclopedia information...
py7133 *10-23-02*
o Hey, it's sent in! Well, it's been a while, and I've updated some user-
submitted decks, and like two Fusions. I've also updated the card index.
Lately, there's been a lot of people who have been contacting me about my
guide. Thanks all you people! Really, thanks! Expects a medium update on X-Mas!
py7133 *12-7-02*
o Hmm... it's one of those "Why isn't the guide being updated" times. I've been
updating, but CJayC must've deleted the mail or something. Well, I'll make a
small update here. Oh yeah, expect more stuff in the future too, my Brother has
this game now. I may be changing the fusion section into an organized section,
and I may add a Card Construction Mastery Guide. The Card Construction Mastery
Guide will only contain the numbers and names of what cards are strong (2000+
ATK, 4 Stars or less).
py7133 *1-11-03*
* IF ANYBODY WANTS TO SUBMIT SOMETHING, SEND IT TO
[email protected] *
Thanks to all the people that sent me e-mails about my guide, ALL of them were
positive ones, I'm glad a lot of people liked it! This is my second guide, but
yet it is the best!

how many times you have won. In order to move on from City 1 to City 2, and then
to City 3, you MUST defeat EACH Duelist at least 5 times. Sounds easy, but it's
really not. You can still duel any Duelists, even after you have reached new
cities. If you've beaten the Duelists 5 Times for that City, you can press Right
on the City Screen. You'll move on to the new City. Press Left to go back.
Once you've defeat the last city, you'll have to fight DarkNite to beat the
game.
That's pretty much it, I guess. Now it's time to learn how to duel...
DUELING!
Here, I'll show you a game field.

Okay, it's kind of confusing, but easy.
The first digit in every card position, is the player number. For example,
Player 1's hand is labled H11 to H15, since 1-5 are the cards. The first 1, is
it's player number. The second digit in some of the numbers are the card
numbers.
Like, Player 1's in-play cards are labled as P11 to P15. Vice-versa for Player
2.
In the card status box, you can see your card statuses, and some of the
opponent's statuses if he has monsters in Attack Mode, or if you used a certain
magic card. The Player boxes show the remaining life points. Easy huh?
Okay, to attack, just choose ATK from the Play Screen.
[ATK][OFFR]
[DFD][SPCL]
ATK - Attack Mode, and Attack a Monster.
OFFR - Sacrifice for stronger cards!
DFD - Defend Mode, Defend against an Attack.
SPCL - Use monster special effects.
Then look at my example below...
(ATTACK MODE) (ATTACK MODE)
[BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON] [MYSTICAL ELF]

ATK PWR - 3000 ATK PWR - 800
DFD PWR - 2500 DFD PWR - 2000
Blue Eyes White Dragon wins, and you subtract a good chunk of 2200 Life Points
from the opponent! IF the Mystical Elf was in DEFENSE MODE, you'll kill it,
but it won't lose any life points. That's what defense mode is! If the
Mystical Elf attacked you, while you were in attack mode, that'd be dumb but
it would also lose 2200 Life Points like before. If you were defending, and it
attacked you, then you would subtract your DFD PWR with its ATK PWR. (You had
more, so you'll do the attack, even though you're in defense mode. He wouldn't
have saw your card due to defense mode, but now it's free to look at!) She'd
lose 500 LP. (LP = Life Points) Understand? Good.
Some monsters have a Special Effect, like the mystical elf. That special effect
is kind of weird, but if used correctly, you'll probably have a 3500AT/2500DF
BEWD. Select SPCL, You must use the SPCL on your first round, or no SPCL at all.
Then the Mystical Elf, or whoever, uses their special. The Mystical Elf powers
up the BEWD. Easy right!?
In order to play the BEWD, you need to sacrifice 2 cards. What the heck? Well
it's real simple. You must have two cards in play, and offer both of them. You
must still be able to play the BEWD, or else your offers will just be a total
waste. Play the BEWD, then use your... WHITE LIGHTNING ATTACK!!! Heh-heh! :)
If it is your turn, and you have nothing else to do, end your turn by pressing
the (B) Button, then click on:
[DETAILS][DISCARD]
[END TURN]
You guessed it, it's [END TURN].
If you want to get rid of your card, because you just want to fool around, or
whatever reason, use the [DISCARD] command.
If you want to check your card's status, select [DETAILS].

Oh yeah! Duh - You win when your opponent's Life Points [LP] reaches 0.
- You lose when your Life Points [LP] reaches 0.
- I haven't heard of a tied match, so there's no such thing.
- If you attack, and the defending monster is in ATK Mode, your
opponent loses points. (Your ATK PTS. MINUS His ATK. PTS.)
If you won by the Elements, then it depends.
- If you attack, and the defending monster is in DFD Mode, your
opponent can die, but loses NO Life Points.
(You'll die if it beats you in Elements!) And note that, your
ATK PTS. must be higher than the DFD PTS. of the opponent's
monster, or else you just Sacrificed your monster.
- Good Luck in Dueling!
Important Note: The More Stars a Card Has, the More You Have to Sacrifice For!
o 1-4 = No Sacrifice, Just Play
o 5-6 = Sacrifice 1 Card
o 7+ = Sacrifice 2 Cards
Element Chart -
Okay, here's the deadly element chart, in which will lead any player to believe
that this game is really messed up. Okay, here it goes! If you've played Pokemon
before, you'll understand if you look at the types listed under the Yu-Gi-Oh
Types

Well, that's all there is to dueling, except for the Deck Constructing part.
Really, all you have to do is put in cards that you want... Let's get to the
Walkthrough now that you've learned how to play!
Ritual Section
This section will teach you how to use Rituals...
An example I will use is the Black Luster Soldier. First, you need the following
cards...
- Gaia the Fierce Knight
- Two Monsters (Any Kind)
- Black Luster Ritual Magic Card
Have Gaia the Fierce Knight on the Field, with two other Monsters. You need the
other two because to play the ritual card, you need two monsters offered. When
Gaia the Fierce Knight is on the field, offer the two other Monsters and play
the Black Luster Ritual Magic Card. It will Ritual the Black Luster Soldier and
REPLACE Gaia the Fierce Knight. Voila!
================================================================================
Game Walkthrough WLKTR
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Tomino Town
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Okay you'll start off in Tomino Town 1, with a very basic deck. You can modify
it later, when you have more Deck Capacity points, and a higher Duelist Level.
In order to move on to Tomino Town 2, defeat each duelist 5 times. Here's the
order in which you should duel. Keep dueling after you've defeated them until
you get around 800 to 900 Deck Capacity.
o Tristan (Top Left)
o Joey (Top Right)
o Yugi (Left)
o Mako (Bottom)
o Mai (Right)
********************************************************************************
Tristan
********************************************************************************
Tristan's a total weakling, and doesn't do anything. Don't go believing that
he'll give you some really rare cards, as he doesn't have diddly. He can give
you Exodia Pieces, but it's only a 5-10% chance, and Exodia's pretty weak in
this game. Fight him a couple of times if you need more Cards, Experience,
Duelist Levels, or Deck Capacity.
********************************************************************************
Joey Wheeler
********************************************************************************
Bah, little puppy, I mean Joey, is very easy too. He has the Red-Eyes Black
Dragon, and some really good cards, but he doesn't know how to use them. Make
sure he doesn't pull out his special card, the Flame Swordsman or you'll be
toast. If he does, find an Aqua Type FAST! Use a Dream Type to destroy that Red-
Eyes Black Dragon.
********************************************************************************
Yugi Moto
********************************************************************************
Hey, it's little Yugi-Boy! Well, he's fairly easy, as long as he doesn't get
his annoying Dark Magician out. Use a Dream Type card to destroy it.
********************************************************************************
Mako Tsunami
********************************************************************************
Mako specializes in Aqua Types, but should be easy. Try to get a couple of
Thunder Type cards into your deck.
********************************************************************************
Mai Valentine
********************************************************************************
Wow! This babe is hot! Err, did I say that? I meant that she's hard! Heheheh,
well, she uses the Harpie Lady to kick butt. If she gets it out, and her Harpie
Lady Sisters, and her Harpie's Pet Dragon, you're toast. Use a Forest Type card
to counter this. Use a Light Type card to counter the Dragon.
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Tomino Town 2
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Now once you're in Tomino Town 2, you'll see very good duelists. It took a
while to beat these guys but you should be alright.
o Rex Raptor (Top Middle)
o ESP Roba (Top Left)
o Weevil (Top Right)
o Seeker (Bottom Left)
o Kaiba (Bottom Right)
o Pandora (Bottom Middle)
********************************************************************************
Rex Raptor
********************************************************************************
This loser's easy, really easy. Try to defeat him as soon as possible, because
he if he powers up the Two-Headed King Rex, you'll almost not be able to defeat
it!
********************************************************************************
Esp Roba
********************************************************************************
She's weak too, just play regular, and remember to use good trap cards.
********************************************************************************
Weevil
********************************************************************************
Dude, Weevil is HARD! When he pulls out his Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth,
you're TOAST, unless you can TOAST him back with a Pyro Type.
********************************************************************************
Seeker
********************************************************************************
Man this guy sucks. He has a lot of 5 to 8 star monsters and very little low
level monsters, so just finish him really fast or you're in for a really bad
smashing.
********************************************************************************
Kaiba
********************************************************************************
If he pulls out just ONE Blue Eyes White Dragon, you're dead. But you can
counter it with a Shadow Type card. (Hmm... the very Weak Kuribo destroys a
Blue Eyes White Dragon... Very Humiliating!) Oh, he's also got the Judge Man and
it also kicks but. Kuriboh (Shadow Type) can also kill that too.
********************************************************************************
Pandora
********************************************************************************
Whew, this guy's hard. I lost to him 3 to 4 types, and I had almost 1000
capacity points! I think he specializes in Shadow Type cards, so use the Time
Wizard (Dream) to warp them into oblivion.
NEW NOTE: This guy's easier now that I've been learning, and I've only lost to
this guy. Once though.
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Ancient Egypt
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
That took a while, and now you're in Ancient Egypt. These Duelists are
extremely HARD! I've got over 1300 Capacity Pts., and they are still kicking my
butt! It's not 100% correct, because I haven't really dueled these guys, but
don't worry. Okay, now I've defeated Ishizu 5 times, and P.Seto 5 times. (P.Seto
= 15 Battles and 5 wins, so... ouch... 10 losses! I lost to Ishizu 3 times.)
NEW NOTE: Now that my brother has gotten this game, (I've borrowed this game
previously.) I can update more! From his game, I've gotten around 1500 Capacity
Pts. because I've fought Tomino Town 1's duelists at least 100 times total. The
duelists here aren't hard at all, but it won't be such a pushover. If you play
the cards and you are pretty good, you'll probably do fine.
o Ishizu
o P. Seto
o Slysheen
o Paradox
********************************************************************************
Ishizu
********************************************************************************
I think she uses a lot of Light Type Females, so dish out some Shadows to turn
off their lights. She's the easiest one of the four.
********************************************************************************
P.Seto
********************************************************************************
I just kept fighting this guy, he's totally annoying with his Change of Heart
and Raigeki. Attack him with Jirai Gumo, Dark Elf, or whatever. You can also
go for the Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth.
********************************************************************************
Slysheen
********************************************************************************
Hmm... this guy's the hardest of the four, in my opinion. Play at your best,
and watch out for some of his Dark Holes, Raigekis, and Change of Hearts.
********************************************************************************
Paradox
********************************************************************************
Isn't this guy's name supposed to be Simon? Oh well, just duel him at your
hardest, he's not that hard.
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
DarkNite
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
DarkNite... He's not so hard, but he's not so easy either. Just pull out a lot
of good combos, NO FUSIONS, magic cards, and a lot of traps, and you'll be fine.
I think that a 40 card deck filled with 2000 ATK construction monsters could
beat him.
Once you've completed the game, you can duel the master duelists. Check the
Card Codes section for the passwords to get to them.
================================================================================
Card Encyclopedia ENCLP
Here are the stats of each card, no other extra information like m0gster's.
I've put these cards by the number they appear in the game. There are 800 cards,
so I'm going to split it up, and have Zoltron help me do them. In each update,
we'll try to add at least 80 new entries. Therefore, there will be at least...
10 updates.
Aghhh! I can't update this anymore... it's just too much! I will, but very
slowly... I'm going to change this section's appearance a little, but not SO
much that m0gster thinks I took stuff from his guide AGAIN! ^_^

11 - Sword Arm of Dragon (Lv.6)
Earth/Dinosaur
1750/2030
NOTE: This card has some weird stats, 2030 Defense? Why the extra 30?
12 - Swamp Battleguard (Lv.5)
Shadow/Warrior
1800/1500
SPCL: Powers up your Lava Battleguards (Haven't tested out for amount that the
Lava Battleguards power up by. I think it's +500/500?)
NOTE: This isn't as good as you would think it would be, like when Joey used it.
It only lets you power up them. You cannot simultaneously activate SPCLs,
so you can only power up one of these. (Unless you have multiple Swamp/
Battleguards!)
13 - Tyhone (Lv.4)
Wind/Winged Beast
1200/1400

16 - Time Wizard (Lv.2)
Dreams/Magician
500/400
SPCL: Baby Dragon Grows to Thousand Dragon
NOTE: Use its special instead of fusing, you don't need to waste your Time
Wizard! (see Baby Dragon for more)
17 - Right Leg of Forbidden (Lv.1)
Shadow/Magician
200/300
NOTE: Try not to rely on Exodia to win, it's a slim chance you will actual-
ly draw all of the required pieces to win. In my +100 duels, I have
only been able to summon Exodia 4-5 times. There's only a 1 in 40
chance of drawing one of the pieces, and of drawing all 5, it's a
5 in 200 chance!
18 - Left Leg of Forbidden (Lv.1)

Hall of Decks HODKS
Here, I got the decks from Pokeeiyu. I'm translating it, since he only trans-
lated some cards. This section will look different than that of m0gster's. This
section is also dedicated to user-submitted-decks. If you have any good decks,
submit them to
[email protected]!
Oh yeah, this won't have any extra information, just the number of the card, the
card's name, and the amount of cards that you can use. Note that you can only
use a max of 3 cards per set.
*Sorry if you sent me a deck that's not in here, it could have been deleted, as
I'm not the only one sharing my e-mail address. Re-send it to me please!)

E-Mail me some codes if you have any, and please send me real codes! Try not to
use these, they'll make the game no fun, unless you really have beaten the game

Look, a lot of people tell me that these codes don't work. Before e-mailing me,
please think about the version of your GameShark, and that I haven't tried these
out. Thanks!

Apprentice APRTC
This sections is dedicated to Apprentice, which originally was used to play MTG
on the internet. It's free, and now you can play many other TCG on it, consider-
ing you have a patch.
You can download Apprentice and the Patch from www.pojo.com, in their Yu-Gi-Oh!
site.
My name on mIRC is py7133, so if I'm in Yu-Gi-Oh Dungeon's room or Pojo's room,
talk to me. I only duel legitimate non-ladder matches.
