Greetings pathetically weak humans! I am SSj472, and I wrote
this FAQ because obviously you need "help" with a game called
"MagiNation(tm)." Since I am a "helping" kind of person, I will guide
you through the game. But I beg you, ONLY READ THIS IF YOU ARE VERY
STUCK! This will include something called "spoilers," just be aware of
that. And if I catch ANYONE stealing or doing ANY "illegal" activity
with my FAQ, I will anialate you. I will tear off you pathetically
weak limbs and beat you INTO THE GROUND WITH THEM!!! Or, I'll sue
you for everything you've got. One more note... I also have people
who do and owe me favors, so I tell them to keep a lookout. So, I
know what you do with my FAQ/Walkthrough during the day, the afternoon
.. even when you sleep... so dont try to mess with me... anywho,
you may now continue reading the FAQ/Walkthrough.

=========@*               IV: What's a Magi?                *@=========
\   \-----*=================================================*-----/   /

       Okay, a Magi is a citizen of Magi-Nation. Magi-Nation
is separated into regions, my first being....

 Naroom-
A hilly and forest covered area, hailing Dcs of nature, which
Leaf Chogo, Arboll, and the powerful Furok. The people are witty
and very intellegent, and seem to know almost everything around
them. They dress in mail, shirts, pants, and loafer like shoes
made of leafs and roots, which allows them to move quickly.

 Underneath-
Rocky, fungus infested, underground civilization. Dcs of great
power live here, such as the legendary Ormagon, and the small
Weebo (which for some reason aren't found here, but rather in
Naroom... oh well). The people are accustomed to living in a
hazardous environment, and the people prefer to dress in warm
clothing to keep themselves from freezing to death.

 Cald-
Ahh... Cald, the overheated, not-so-tropical paradise! Has _ALOT_
of volcanic activity, and the Dcs here are rather strong, and are
difficult to attack with there blazing speed (no pun intended).
The men here for some odd reason wear blisteringly hot clothes, one
example of such a person is Ashgar, the elder. He's wearing a @#$%ing
robe! Well anyways, you'll also find the women wearing a logical
assortment of clothing, and many often wear bandanas to prevent their
hair from catching fire.

 Orothe-
The people: not very bright; Environment: a hazardous ocean;
Dcs: Vicious and incredibly powerful; 'Nuff said...

 Arderial-
The people of the sky, and are the only magi with wings...
suspicious... well anywho, the Enviroment is imposible to live on
unless their superior technology can help you. This region also
holds the most mysterious Dcs, such as Orish, Orathan Flyer,
and the still to be found XyX (Which is a cloud basically, but
cannot be found for the same reason as the Ardy Hyrens).
Most of the men are either businessmen, scholars, or soilders.
The women are like most other Magi, and unlike their male
counterparts, dont require wings to fly... which brings up the
question, why does Queen Jaela have wings? They're not real.
'Nuff said.

 Core-
The Core is acually two regions: the Core, and the Shadow. The
Shadow Core is where the evil is brewed... and stays in that deluted
state. That is where Korg and Zet hail from. Now the Core can have
both good and evil counterparts, for example, Morag, and ChaosDemon.
ChaosDemon is of the Core, but hes not evil, however Morag is a
different story. The main way to tell the difference is to see the
color of their skin. Most Shadow Magi have Green skin, while Core
Magi can have either normal or green, usually green meaning that
they're evil.

 Universe-
This isn't acually Magi, but yet, a non-Magi and non-Ancient
specie which has learned to control the power that Magi have.
One example is Tony Jones, and myself, SSj472. Tony is a human,
and I am 1/3 Saiyan, 1/3 Human, and 1/6 Magi and
1/6 Bulgarian (O_o). Since My two dominant ancestries are Saiyan
and Human, I am then not considered a full shed Magi, but rather,
Universal Magi. There are even Universal Dcs! Yes believe it or
not their are! REALLY! ..... You don't believe me... do you.
Oh well, but I'm VERY SURE that there is such thing!

 D'Resh-
Not much info here, except that it is a __HUGE__ desert. Possibly
the largest of all the nations that have been encountered.

 Paradwyn-
_NO_INFORMATION_AVAILABLE_

Kabar's Teeth- A giant mountain region of Nagi-Nation, hailing
creatures of Rock, such as Giant Korbit, Stone Quor, and the
infamous Rock Hyren.

Weeve- Until the card game eliminated the controversy of this
as a region, we thought it was another part of Naroom. Wrong!
Well, there are things such as Twisps, Pudos, and Grass Hyrens.

 ???????-
I know that there are more, but until later, we'll have to wait.

/   /-----*=================================================*-----\   \
=========@*                V: What's a DC?                  *@=========
\   \-----*=================================================*-----/   /

DC stands for Dream Creature. I will refer to Dream Creatures
as DCs. Why? 1) Its easier to remember. 2) Dream Creature sounds
fruitty. And 3) It sounds better. 'Nuff Said. Well as explained
in the last section, "IV: WHAT IS A MAGI?", you learned that DCs
hail from different regions. There are regular, normal DCs.
Then you have your legendary ones, which are almost never seen.
And then, we have the Greater Hyrens. These are the strongest kinds
of DCs. The only thing stonger is possibly one of the legendary DCs,
Ormagon, which, with its massive size, can well, ummm... you'll find
out in the game...

/   /-----*=================================================*-----\   \
=========@*                 VI: Walkthrough                 *@=========
\   \-----*=================================================*-----/   /

Yes! The WALKTHROUGH! THE LAST THING I STARTED TO WORK ON!
YES! Well, just keep in mind that I'll refer Dream Creatures as DCs.
And I'll even have a recommendation of DCs.

***** = 5 Star DC with all available options!
****  = 4 Stars, highly recommended.
***   = Average recommendation
**    = Not Very Good
*     = Overall, Bad
*0*   = Flush it if necessary
*?*   = Never heard of it, never seen it, never cared.

Thats my recommendation scale, each DC will recieve a certain amount of
stars, obviously ***** being the best. Also, the Enemy Magi's Difficulty
Level is on a scale of 0-10. 10 being hardest, 0 being just practice.

--------------------
 Tavel Gorge Cave
--------------------

I'm going to lead you through the fastest route through this cave.
So that you wont waste your time going in pointless circles! Go up, take
a right turn, down, and into the first right. Go all the way up, and once
again, another right. Then go up, right, up again, and to the crystal!
Now, dont even bother moving. Seriously, if you dont move, Tony will be
standing over the big hole! Then wait until he says "Oh no! I'm trapped!"
Or you can just move into the hole and fall. Either way, if you try to
escape, you wont even make it to the entrance. And then, Tony will scream
like a sissy that he is, and he'll end up in...

-------------
 The River
-------------

Great, here comes to monsters, ready to kick your @$$. And if you
can understand what they are saying, then... you scare me. Just see the
cinematic even, with the crystal sparkling, and a giant bear-like thing
will destroy the bat-like thing. After that, a man in a Brown overcoat
will tell you something about exploding... sock... puppets. Seriously.
Eventully, he'll give you some braclet, and MAGICALLY! YOU CAN UNDERSTAND
HIM! Apparently, his name is Eidon, and you'll later learn his intentions...
Now that you can walk again, go up, left, take a left at the fork, go up.
Then finally to exit, take the right path at the end of the road to exit.

-------------------
 Naroom Overview
-------------------

First, save your game by pressing start, and then hilighting,
and pressing (A) on [Save]. Then, go up to the yellow patch, and you'll
be in...

---------------
 Vash Naroom
---------------

Now here is where you learn about those to monsters. They are Korg
and Zet. The Curley and Moe of Magi-Nation(tm), these guys will give you a
nasty headache later in the game. Well, I mean KORG will give you the
headache. After the cinematic scene, simply continue walking up the stairs,
talking to people. After that, continue going up until you reach an elevated
platform, that has something that looks like a gravestone, and a soilder
wearing red. From there, go around the right of it, up a flight of stairs, and
take the stairs going eastbound. Go right, and walk up some more stairs, while
talking to more people on the way. Then you should reach a door, enter it.
You'll now meet Orwin, the Elder of the Vash. You'll then be told to
see Pruitt, the ringsmith. On your way out of the room, get the Archaic Leaf
in the chest, and why not go see Orwin's Celestial Thingy while your at it!
Go down the stairs, and go back to that raised platform from earlier.
From there, go down, and go east. The second door is Pruitts shop. Go in.
Pruitt, the young ringsmith from Vash Naroom. She'll check out the
crystal, and will make it into a ring. You'll also get $50 dollars. She'll
also explain about DCs and Animite, so learn as much as you can. Now that
you have a purty new Furok ring, head over to Evu's hood. Go back to that
raised platform, and take a left up the stairs. The door on the far left is
Evu's house. Now, TALK TO THE FIREPLACE! Yes, I'm very serious, talk to it,
and you'll get a Remedy Drink. Now talk to the old guy. This is Evu, and
apparently, he thinks your Poad, the Innkeeper. Okay, now that your done
talking to him, go to the southern end of the counter, where the stool is,
and press (A) to open the counter flip door. Hold (B) to run over the stool,
and open the chest to get a Baloo Leaf. Now, exit and head back to the raised
platform. From there, head down, and then take the stairs going West. The first
door is an item shop. It would be wise to go in and use the $999 trick, which
is in the "Tips + Secrets" section later in this FAQ/Walkthrough. But if you
don't want to go in the shop, just go to the next door to the left, and viola!
Poad's Inn! Talk to Poad, and get some jelly beans. Then talk to him again to
rest and save your game. Now, go back to Evu, and he'll give you the Spell,
LEAF CUT! This spell is only useful now, and a little later. Now, exit Vash
Naroom, or try to anyways. Uh oh, Eidon and Orwin, arguing. See the cinematic
scene to know whats going on.
Now, its time to meet........ Yaki (begins to twitch). Saying "No"
to Eidon's question will lead you into Yaki's training grounds. Talk to him,
and he'll teach you the ways of the Magi. Then after that, you can leave, or
challenge Salafy to a match.

\   \-----*=================================================*-----/   /

The Spells! Thanx to the damned GameShark, I have gained access,
and learned what ALL SPELLS DO! And I hope I am the first person to
bring this info to you!!!

Leaf Cut-
       Energy: 8
       Effect: 5-6 damage when used.

How-To-Retrieve-It: After getting Evu his jellybeans from Poad,
talk to Evu, and he'll give you Leaf Cut.

Grow-
       Energy: 12
Effect: Heals your DC for 10, and sometimes something special
               happens....

How-To-Retrieve-It: After the Seer diagnoses Orwin, return to
his home and again attempt to open the secured chest.

Burrow-
       Energy: ???
Effect: Raises one of your DCs defense by 25.

       How-To-Retrieve-It: (GameShark)

Cave In-(Recommended)
       Energy: 12
Effect: Lowers one enemy DCs defence by 15.

How-To-Retrieve-It: In the 2nd Shadow Geyser. Please see the
               walkthrough to find it.

ThunderQuake-
       Energy: 10
       Effect: 6 damage to EVERYTHING!

How-To-Retrieve-It: In the 2nd Shadow Geyser. Please see the
               walkthrough to find it.

Fireball- (Recommended)
       Energy: 15
Effect: Does a massive 12 damage to a DC or Magi.

How-To-Retrieve-It: THIS IS VERY HARD TO GET! When nearing the
end of the lava tube, you should see four evenly spaced
"gorrila skulls" embedded into the wall. Go to the one
that is the second from the left, and press (A) on the
left side. If it didn't work, keep gently moving from
left to right, followed by pressing up the (A), and the
Gorilla skull will eventually eat you since it is being
annoyed by your searching. You'll find ALOT of goodies
in here. When inside, you'll see a door, which will soon
be opened. Just search the southern part of EVERY wall
until you hear a CLICK! Then go back to the closed door,
which will now be open! Viola! FIREBALL!

Flame Geyser- (Recommended)
       Energy: 4
Effect: Does 20 damage to everyone.

How-To-Retrieve-It: Here's a tricky one. When in the 3rd Shadow
Geyser, you'll find a chest, and theres a path on the other
side of it. Open it, and talk to it again. If you kicked it,
then its the right chest. Keep kicking until you can reach the
opposite path. Keep going, solving the puzzles of chests, until
you reach the last puzzle, on an island in the middle of a lava
flow. THINK BEFORE YOU KICK! That is all of the advice I'm
giving you on this last puzzle.

Entangle- (Recommended)
       Energy: 15
Effect: Reduces enemy DC speed by 20.

How-To-Retrieve-It: It's right next to the Blurry Scrolls chest
               in the Orathean Ruins.

Tidal Wave-
       Energy: 24
Effect: Causes 12 damage to opposing team.

How-To-Retrieve-It: In the 4th Shadow Geyser, please read the
               walkthrough.

Dispel X- (recommended)
       Energy: 25
Effect: Removes all non-permanent status effects from your
               entire active party.

How-To-Retrieve-It: In the Orothean Ruins, please see the
               walkthrough.

Updraft: (HIGHLY Recommended)
       Energy: 20
Effect: Raises all of your DCs speed by 0-30 permanently.
Sometimes even reduces your speed permanently.

Lightning-
       Energy: 40
Effect: Causes 23 points in damage.

How-To-Retrieve-It: Only do this if you don't want to get the
secret start, it is recommended to do it AFTER you get
               the secret start.

Condemn- (recommended)
       Energy: ???
Effect: Causes 70 damage to a single opponent.

       How-To-Retrieve-It: (Gameshark)

Singularity- (Recommended)
       Energy: ???
Effect: Causes 50 damage to entire enemy party.

       How-To-Retrieve-It: (Gameshark)

Judge-
       Energy: ???
Effect: All DCs get the Judge status.

       How-To-Retrieve-It: (Gameshark)

Jury-
       Energy: ???
Effect: All enemy DCs are infected with the Guilty status.

       How-To-Retrieve-It: (Gameshark)

Excecutioner-
       Energy: ???
Effect: After using this on the opposing party that has the
guilty status, all "judging" DCs 1-hit-KO attacks
are always fatal. (EX: Judge on Core Hyren,
Jury on Furok, Excecutioner on Furok. Core Hyren uses
               Terror, Furok is Terminated.)

       How-To-Retrieve-It: (Gameshark)

Flood-
       Energy: ???
Effect: Causes 30 damage to the entire opposing party.

       How-To-Retrieve-It: (Gameshark)

Cunning Blow-
       Energy: 150
Effect: THE ULTIMATE ATTACK! 1-HIT-KO BABY!

       How-To-Retrieve-It: (Gameshark.... damn)

/   /-----*=================================================*-----\   \
=========@*                  VIII: Hyrens                   *@=========
\   \-----*=================================================*-----/   /

These DCs are highly recommended, and are the strongest DCs
in this game. The reason why they are so good is because if you get
them at an early level, the game will be a breeze. However, they are
very hard to train...

Naroom Hyrens-
Where: In the tunnels leading to the Underneath.
       Items Needed: Blast Urn

How: From the Weave entrance to the tunnel, dig through the
dirt, go up, around the bend, and hug the left wall until you reach
more dirt. Dig through that, and go down the stairs. You should see
a cracked wall, use your blast urn on it, and this path will lead you
to your prize. Good Luck

Underneath Hyrens-
       Where: Lava Tube
       Items Needed: None

How: In the Lava Tube, find stairs leading into the water. wait
for a whirlpool to appear, and then run into it. You have now entered,
the lair of the Underneath Hyrens.

Cald Hyrens-
Where: The hidden Volcano Tube in Cald
       Items Needed: None

How: In the northeastern part of the Cald, you should come up
to the Cald Tunnel entrance. Rather than going in, simply walk alongside
the volcano to the south, and you should find that you could go "behind"
it. Just go left until you enter the lair of the Cald Hyrens!

Orothean Hyrens-
       Where: Seer's Place
       Items Needed: Orothean Belt

How: Swim behind the Seer's house until you see a dark patch of
water. Simply swim into it, you'll enter the Orothean Hyren lair!

Arderial Hyrens-
       Where: Arderial Palace (Inside)
       Items Needed: None

How: First, you need to fight, and kill, Orathan Flyer 10 times!
Yes, you heard me, 10 freakin' times! However, I recommend doing about
12 or more. Then, immediatly go into the palace and run around in the room
near the entrance, and after about... about... a VERY LONG TIME, you'll
encounter them. Yes. These guys take the longest time to find. It took me
20 minutes just to find it.

/   /-----*=================================================*-----\   \
=========@*            IX: Secret Dream Creatures           *@=========
\   \-----*=================================================*-----/   /

This includes the Orathan Flyer, and Megathan, and Ormagon...
Yup, just these dudes... these guys are recommended.

Megathan-
Where: Orothean Ruins
Items Needed: Blast Urn

This guy is easy to find. All that you have to do is set off
a Blast Urn ANWHERE inside of the ruins, and then you'll be viciously
ripped apart by this DC. 'Nuff said.

Description: VERY large, but not as big as the next two. Its
power comes in the form of water, and the Tsunami that
it creates. It resembles the LochNess Monster....

Orathan Flyer-
Where: Arderial Mountains
Items Needed: None

Just walk in between the Arderial mountians for a VERY long
time. However, sometimes it appears right away, then again, it sometimes
doesn't. This DC takes a long time to take out.

Description: The second largest, probobly bigger than the
biggest whale. Wait a sec! It is a whale! Well, a
               flying one....

Ormagon-
Where- Gruks Mushroom Farm Cave
Items Needed: $999, Algae, Specimin Jar, Fungicide, HollowStool

THIS TAKES A VERY LONG TIME! You should begin this
Ormy-Sub-quest IMMEDIATLY AFTER you are knocked-off by Morag.
From Wence's house, go directly to the Underneath WITHOUT TALKING
TO A SINGLE PERSON OR THING! Once there, you should find a guy who
is obsessed with the destruction caused. Then he'll ask you to find
some Algae. Go through and before getting Agadons Boots, you'll have
to get to Orothe via a ship. pay the $300, and once at Orothe, pay
another $300 to have the ship guy stay and wait. Once in the secret
passage, find the algae in the upper portion of the tunnels. DO NOT,
I REPEAT, DO NOT GET AGADONS BOOTS! IT IS CRUCIAL THAT YOU DONT GET
THOSES DAMNED BOOTS! Okay, now, sail back to the weave, and go into
the underground tunnels. Go to the North Tower where Gruk was taken.
There, you'll find the dude who wanted Algae, give it to him, since
he'll later be snooping around Gruk's Cave Farm. Now, go to the item
shop in the Underneath and use the Gem trick to refil your $$$ back
to $999. Then, return to the weave, and sail back to Orothe, getting
the boots. Then sail back to the weave. From here, go to Yaki's
Training grounds. Now, talk to the left eye, run around the statue 5
times going counterclockwise, and then talking to the left eye again.
You should here a click. Now go to the door in the right hand side of
the training grounds, and inside should be some fungicide. Going back
into the tunnels, and go down the stairs to where you'd find the path
to the Naroom Hyrens. Now from the cracked wall, go down, and you'll
find yourself in a Cald tunnel. Keep following the path, and you'll
come out in Cald! Beat the third shadow geyser. (OPTIONAL) Now that
you're in the Shadow Hold, get the Cloud Frond if you want. AND DO
NOT USE IT ON ORWIN UNTIL I SAY SO LATER IN THE DIRECTIONS.
(/OPTIONAL) Okay, once in Ocent Marrrrrr, buy a Specimin Jar for
$500 dollars. Now, go back to Gruk's Mushroom Farm Cave, and you
should see ALOT of shiny things in the ground somewhere in the cave.
This is the Algae you gave to that dude. Now, try to center yourself
in the shiny stuff, and move up and talk to the wall. You should have
the option of taking a Fungus sample. Your Specimen Jar should now
be a JarofFungus. Now go to Vash Naroom, and give the JarofFungus
to the kid who collects spooky plants. Continue through the game,
and beat the final Shadow Geyser. Now, goback to the spooky plant
kid's house, and save him some remodling bills, and use the Fungicide
to destroy the Fungus. Now, after destroying the fungus, immediatly
talk to each stool in the spooky plant house, and find the stool that
is hollowed out, and you'll get the hollow stool. NOW IF YOU HAVE THE
CLOUD FROND, YOU CAN VISIT THE SEER TO HEAL ORWIN. Return to where
you got the Fungus specimen. Use your fungicide on the wall, which
will cause a passage to open way. Go in, and use you're hollow stool
to attract Ormagon. PREPARE TO DIE!

Description: Death in a nicly rolled giant mushroom package!
The largest, about the size of a 3 story house, it
is beleived to be the DC summonded that destroyed the
underneath. It is basically a combination of a mushroom,
a beetle, and one of the monsters called 'Weapons'
in Final Fantasy VII(tm). VERY powerful.

\   \-----*=================================================*-----/   /

Easy Dinero $$$: Go into any shop, buy any gem that costs
$5. Buy 20 of those. Then sell them back
for $18 a pop. Repeat until you get $999.

Get More Energy: I have two ways. #1, summon a DC strong
enough to kill the enemy DC in one hit.
The cheaters can also use the Gameshark
to get 255 Cloud Fronds, which, during
a match, can fully heal a DC or yourself.

Secret Start: This is easy... well, kinda. In the 5th Shadow
Geyser, simply save one extra key for later,
and beat the geyser with that one star key
left unused. Now, beat Agram, and without
turning off your GBC/GBA/EMU, get back to the
screen with the 3 doors. In the lower left corner
of the screen, kick it away, and go down the
stairs, dig through some dirt, and open the door
with your last star key. Talk to the robed dude,
and go back to the start screen. VIOLA! The center
door opens! WARNING! IF YOU TALK TO THE ROBED DUDE
AGAIN, HE'LL ASK YOU IF YOU WANT TO FORMAT YOUR
PAK! FORMATTING YOUR PAK WILL ERASE ALL SAVED DATA,
                     INCLUDING THE SECRET START!

=========@*                   XII: Dual-Summon              *@=========
\   \-----*=================================================*-----/   /

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I FOUND THIS AFTER FORMATTING MY PAK SIX
DAMN TIMES! Well, now that I have it, and you don't, I can finally be
proud of myself for something! (Audience stands and applauses for 20
minutes, SSj472 begins to flex his muscles, etc, etc....) Well, I'll
now tell you, yes, I'll tell you how to get Dual-Summon! Well, HERE IT
IS! THE LEGENDARY DUAL-SUMMON!

Well anyways, I've acually had this for like, a month, I turned off and
restarted my game w/o secret start, trying to replicate the code, first
try, it didnt work, than my brother got the secret start and beat
Agram another 3 times (he THINKS), thus getting rid of any chance
of me knowing whether or not I need a specific amount of times to beat
the game. Then I did the code, which you are about to read, worked
again! I CAN NOW DO DUAL SUMMON! I've searched for about 3 months and
now I have it! However, you will need a Gameshark to do this...

Items Needed: Ornate Awl, Hollow Stool, Funguside

Format Your Game PAK! U HEARD ME! FORMAT THE GOSH DAMNED THING!
(Since I'm not 100% sure on the code, dont try it unless you are really
desperate) After that, start a game, and follow the Ormagon Subquest
to the point of where you get to Ormagons "FUNGUS ROOM". There, use
the Ornate Awl, AND REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE GAME SAYS OR HAPPENS, USE
HOLLOW STOOL AS FAST AS POSSIBLE! Then you will fight a super team of
Ormys, 4 to be exact (goooood luck) Then after they're dead, u might
notice that u can press select while highlighting summon, DualSmmn Will
appear in place, and dats dat!

=========@*                  XIV: FAQ / FYI                 *@=========
\   \-----*=================================================*-----/   /

Yes, I acually do answer questions... just email me at
[email protected], and I'll post them here.

Q. Where would you recommend buying this game?
A. Honestly, I couldn't find it ANYWHERE in the state I live in,
and I bought it in Florida one day on vacation. However,
       I'd recommend Wal-Mart, Amazon.com, and/or
Electronics Boutique. If they are not there, then try a mall,
       thats probobly your best bet!

Q. What version of GameShark do you recommend?
A. .......... Any version...

Q. I have a G/S 3.0, AND NOT A SINGLE CODE WORKS!
A. You have two options. 1) Try again, or 2) Buy a new Gameshark!

Q. What version of G/S do you recommennd after 3.0 doesn't work?
A. Any version after or before 3.0.....

Q. What causes hiccups?
A. ITS THE WATER ORB! Seriously, the Relic 'Water Orb' causes hiccups.
After attaching it to my Furok, it hiccuped in a match! Then later,
I gave my Water Orb to my Lava Arboll, once again, HICCUPS! Another
piece of proof would be letting the Naroom historian check it out.
HE even says it causes hiccups. Just dont talk to the Cald one,
he'll tell you something about his wife.....
