The two player mode in lemmings was excellent and very unique back in the days
that lemmings was made. The object of the two player mode was to get in more
lemmings than your opponent. In the two player mode you start off with 40
lemmings each for the blue and green lemmings. If you save some on the levels
you get more lemmings for the next level, the maximum amount of lemmings you can
have is 80.  In this guide I will mention about the levels and some information
about the levels itself. Sorry there won't be any pictures of the levels in this
guide.

Here's some information about the twenty two player levels that feature in the
original lemmings game.

THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE

This is a very good first level, all you need to do is build at the start but
once the other player starts destroying your base it will get hard. Try to
destroy parts of the hill that lead up to the exit. Do be careful with your
builders in this one as you can run out easily. The release rate is a bit fast
in this one so will probably be a quick level.

STILL EVERYTHING TO PLAY FOR

A very quick and fast level because of the release rate, this is a good level
where you can try to destroy your opponents exit by digging under it. Sometimes
it's a good idea to just block when the lemmings start to fall, block so that it
keeps the blue and green lemmings separate right at the start. Also try to dig
under your opponent's bashing area as he or she will end up taking a few
builders to get by due to the lemmings hitting their head and turning around.

IN THE THICK OF THE FRAY

Now this level can last a long time, I think that's a good thing. A bit of work
to get your lemmings up to the exit, I would try to save the lemmings and use
the steel beneath to keep the lemmings safe. watch out as the steel area can
blow up if a lemming is trapped between two blockers. A arguably a great level
this one.

GAME ON! CHOOSE YOUR TACTICS

This is a level you need to watch out for your opponent digging under your
entrance point as this tends to happen a lot on this one when I'm playing it
with an opponent. This level ends up getting very hectic because the release
rate and the lemmings walking back and forth. Use blockers to stop your opponent
getting into their exit and if you can try to use a blocker to block the basher
so that he can't bash any more.

GOOD GAME GOOD GAME

The name to this level took some inspiration from Bruce Forsyth when he used to
say good game, good game. Anyway this is an interesting level which requires a
bit of work to get to the exit and you have to watch out for your opponent. My
opponent always had a habit of trying to dig under the entrance point so that
the lemmings will splatter or fall into space, just keep an eye on that. The bit
where you build first can make a great spot to place a blocker to stop your
opponent as he needs to build around or dig under to get by the blocker. They
won't splatter when climbing over the big stone and falling on the other side.

THE RUBBISH DUMP

A fantastic level where you have to dig the right way to get to your exit. The
lemmings are facing the wrong way so you have to block right at the start. A
good tactic for this one is use a lot of blockers as the time it comes to the
end of the level you might still have a lot builders and digging tools left to
free up some of the blockers. Digging under the blocker frees him. Might need a
parachute you never know. Remember that you will have a lot of builders for this
one, also remember to destroy your opponents base.

AND THE WINNER IS.....

Quick reactions is what you need for this level, I would say player one has the
advantage as he normally uses the mouse. Once you bash you have to build
quickly. Lemmings end up below and there ends up lots of lemmings walking back
and forth down below, they can be tricky ones to get back up. I usually end up
destroying these lemmings, what about you?

ANY CHANCE OF A TRUCE

Getting those lemmings by the barbwire is a tricky one but get them bashing
through, sometimes the lemmings turning around might walk up the barbwire and
die. Build over your opponent's exit and if possible try to build over your
opponents house so you can block their path. It can be a nightmare to get by a
blocker when he is on a hill because when you dig under you end up destroying
your own land.

THE PIPE ROOM

I would say player one has an advantage in this one but it's a tight one at
that. Bash through the pipes without using too many builders, try to get your
opponent's lemmings turning around and going into your house. You only have ten
builders in this one so be very careful, this can be very deadly if you run out.
You can possibly take a longer route by building over the exit and letting the
lemmings walk up the diamonds, easier for player two this tactic. Get them
bashing and building and blocking so the lemmings will be up very high.

THE ROPE BRIDGE

Both players have to be quick, Player two has to be very quick to avoid getting
a lemming in the wrong house at the start as his lemming comes out first. Try to
build over the sand castles and once you get to the rope bridge try to destroy
it a little but build to save your own lemmings. This is a very hard level even
to save one lemming but if you pick up the speed and get across fast you should
be okay. It's very hard to save a lot of lemmings in this one due to the fact
that the level is long and lemmings die quickly. A very big level and hard to
get to the exit. Got to award yourself if you get any in.

JUST FOR FUN OR TO THE DEATH?

This is a hard level as you have no blockers just like the last level. You have
to turn your lemmings around when digging the piller, make sure the lemmings are
going into the right house. This can be a horrible level for your opponent
digging under the entrance point and destroying the lemmings. Keep an eye on the
entrance because of that. This will become quite a challenging level because
your opponent will be destroying that pillar as well. You might be able to sneak
a few lemmings through with the parachute.

THE CRYSTAL CAVERN MARK II

My favorite level out of all the two player levels, player one has a big
advantage in this one as his base is a million times easier than player two's
base. Player two will probably have to build to get his lemmings on the route
into the house. Player two's base also has a trap, the orange type trap which
frazzles the lemmings. Don't get tangled in those webs but do dig under your
opponents house if possible. Try to get into each other's bases to destroy the
path for the lemmings.

CROSS-OVER POINT

A very long level lasting level in terms of lemmings as the release rate is low
but could end very quickly as your opponent could dig under your entrance point.
You can probably destroy your opponents exit in this one by digging everywhere
near the exit, I used to do that. Both players have an equal chance in this one
and can be a good challenge especially all the lemmings walking everywhere. Do
keep a special eye on your entrance point.

THE PASSING PLACE
Player two has the big advantage in this one as he can get the lemming climbing
straight away and building to stop your opponent's climbing lemming. You have to
build right at the edge to stop your opponent. Get building passed your
opponent's exit and get your lemmings into the house. Try to get lemmings into
your opponent's area and if you can get some of your opponent's lemmings into
your house. Just like a passing place in real life.

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN, WHEN YOU CAN

This level goes very quick as the release rate is set very high. Get your
lemmings up to the exit fast and make life harder for your opponent, block his
bridge off and put a blocker beside his exit. There are not many places to keep
your lemmings safe in this one. A very small level but fun as well.

THE HAMMOCK....

A very interesting level, block at the start so your lemmings are going the
right way, make sure you use your one digger properly. You are wanting to dig so
that the lemmings fall onto the platform and build and block. Try to get into
your opponent's side of the map and place blockers everywhere and if possible
make it very hard to get by. Remember when a lemming is stuck between two
blockers he will create a hole in the terrain when the trapped lemming explodes.
If you know how to do this you can get your lemmings just falling into the exit
very easily. It does take a bit of work and might be considered a glitch or
advanced playing when blowing up steel.

GRAFFITI

Looking at the graffiti it is funny, you gotta love the humour. I would have
been called specky back in the day at school but it's not a nice thing to call
someone. A very nicely designed level if I do say myself, you might like the
fact you are helping each other but there are a few tricks you could try. You
might be able to dig under your opponent's entrance area, this might only work
for player one as his lemmings are facing the right way. Getting to the exit is
a tricky one at the end as that's when the main battle starts as you are both
going separate ways. Love the graffiti, might insult people but that's what
graffiti usually ends up insulting people.

ISLANDS IN THE SKY

Now this is a level you can go builder mad in, think about it you have 99
builders. Get lemmings building and building to get across faster, you can build
in the same spot another builder is and keep doing this to get across. If you
are lucky enough to get into your opponent's side block off his path and build
over the blocker and dig his bridge so you can get to your exit. You have a lot
of builders in this one so go mad with them, if you are finding that you are
running out of builders then you might be a bit too mad. only kidding.

MAY THE CRAFTIEST PLAYER WIN

This is a long tough level. Try to get your lemmings building right at the start
and get onto the steel bit at the top of the level where you can block the
lemmings and keep them safe. To get to the exit your lemming will have to
parachute but you can repair this by getting him to build and make a little path
for the lemmings to the exit. Now the danger is you can do this or try to get
into your opponent's base and destroy his bridge and block his path off. That is
so he will probably have to do a bit more work to repair things.

WE'RE IN THIS ONE TOGETHER

A helping level and very hard one at that. You have to watch out and keep your
lemmings on the right path. It's a long sort of level but you can try little
tricks to get your opponent off the scent. The main battle might be right at the
start or at the end of the level where you are building to the exits. You can
easily run out of builders in this one so be careful, you have been warned. A
good level to end things on and hoping you have enjoyed the two player levels in
the original lemmings.

Here's the ten two player levels that featured in oh no more lemmings.

THE DUEL

An excellent first level, be very careful with your builders as they will run
out very fast. You have four sections you have to bash and you can either use
builders or climbers at the end part to save the lemmings. Use a combination of
digging and blocking when attacking your opponents base but your builders are
your friend in this one. Sometimes digging under your opponents house can be a
good tactic, try to make it very hard for your opponent.

MATCH OF THE DAY

This is similar to the rubbish dump level from the original lemmings in that the
lemmings are facing the wrong way, make sure you block and get those lemmings
going the right way. Be careful with your builders and try to maybe dig under
your opponents house as that might end up making him lose a lot of builders. The
two trees are different to each other, sometimes placing a blocker under the
tree of your opponent's base can be a great tactic.

CONFRONTATION

Easy to get to the exit but hard when you are playing against someone sums up
this level well. Make that hill as hard as anything by digging and mining down
the hill, also watch out for your opponent trying to dig under your entrance. He
could also end up destroying his own entrance as it is the same hatch they both
come from in this one. It was always fun playing in the snow as a kid and in
lemmings. Easy to get to the exit as you just need to bash the icicle once you
are up the hill.

THE ONLY WAY OUT

This is an unusual level in that your opponent and you can get intertwingled in
this one. It ends up being a really good fight, also try to block at hard spots
for your opponent, blocking under the bit he has to bash.  Also digging under
the exit is yet another good tactic.

SHOWDOWN!

Get your lemmings climbing at the start and get them turning around and mining
up the path so that your lemmings can get to the exit. I would avoid building up
to the exit unless your opponent has done the nasty to your base. Climb up your
opponents wall and get your lemming turning around then building so that your
opponent can't climb up the wall. If you are having trouble getting your
lemmings up, try to use the otherside of the wall and climb up that way, mind
you your opponent can destroy this easily.

TEST OF SKILL

Go for your opponent's exit straight away, try to do as much damage as possible
to your opponent's base. Try not to send too many of your own lemmings across as
you might lose by a few lemmings. Destroy that house my tactics would be. Make
sure you are not losing any of your lemmings except for the ones you have in
your opponent's base. Only send a few across to destroy your opponent's side.

GIVE AND TAKE

Get your lemmings across fast in this one by getting them to climb, build and if
possible bash your opponent's icicle so that he will find it harder to turn his
lemmings around. You could probably dig under your opponent's exit in this one
but I would be careful as your opponent will want to do the same thing to you.
Becomes an extremely hard level near the end as it gets very difficult to turn
your lemmings around. Lemmings are always a nightmare to turn around.

CO-OPERATION

This is a helping level at the start as you both are going the same route but
the main fight starts when you are building up to the exits. Dig under your
opponent's base. Don't let too many lemmings into your opponent's base. Player
two could maybe start getting his lemmings to climb to the exit, player one has
to do a bit of building before getting his ones to climb up. Use your blocker
very wisely in this one, don't waste him. Player two has the advantage I would
say in this one. Probably not really much fighting at the start of the level.

ONE ON ONE

A very hard level and the challenge might be getting them to turn around at the
start. If you are lucky enough to get into your opponent's base start bashing
his area so his lemmings are walking into space. Make sure you get lemmings into
the house as this can be a bit like the rope bridge from the original lemmings
as you are doing a lot of work just to get across. No blockers in this one folks
so that's where the challenge will probably come from not being able to turn the
lemmings around.

I WANT IT ALL

This is a fun level, build over your opponent's exit then bash through all the
obstacles and get to the exit. Both trees are different as well as the land
looking slightly different on both sides. You will notice this with a lot of
levels where both sides look similar but there will be tiny differences. You
might end up with a lot of lemmings in the bottom holes of the map. it can be
tricky getting them back out all the way to the exit. This is the last level of
the oh no two player.
