Story
===============================================================================
A new world mystery! Customers of the Happykactus Company have been
disappearing after buying their cactus.
DRIIIING!!! Calling Gadget! This is the Boss! Your mission: Neutralize the
Cannibal Cactus Factory on Awoo-Iwoo, the secret island of Dr. Claw, by placing
polymer chewing-gum bombs in strategic points in the factory.
Gadget is dropped on Awoo-Iwoo. He doesn't know, but Penny and Brain are there
to help him... as usual!
Look: Press the up arrow key to look up in the air
Weapon: Press 'B' to attack.
Duck: Press the down arrow key to duck and go lower towards the ground.
Crawl: While ducking, press the left or right arrow keys.
Crawl+Punch/Weapon: While ducking, press the 'B' button.
Double-Jump: Press 'A' to jump, and then while in the air, press 'A' again to
jump in midair.
Swim: Press the arrow keys while in the water.
Water Jump: Press up while at the top of the water.
Climb: If the character is barely touching the edge of a platform, he will hang
from it. Press Up to climb up the platform, or press Down to drop down from the
platform.
Each character has their unique strengths and weaknesses. However, it is best
to stick with Inspector Gadget if possible. To switch between characters, press
'Select,' and then move the selector to the left or right. You can only change
characters if the current character is on dry land, not in the water or in the
air. You can't change from Brain to another character if you are in a narrow
tunnel.
Inspector Gadget: The all-round character. He is taller than both Penny and
Brain, so he can reach taller enemies. However, he cannot hit lower enemies
unless he is crawling. He is the only one in the group who can use weapons, so
he is ideal for dealing with enemies. He is also able to endure more hits than
Penny and Brain, and can run faster than Penny. However, if he runs for too
long, he'll skid a little before stopping if you stop moving.
Penny: Penny is a little girl, so she doesn't have nearly as much stamina as
the cyborg Inspector Gadget. However, she is the only one in the group that can
swim underwater. Watch out, since being human, Penny can only stay so long
underwater. Watch the oxygen meter to see if Penny needs to come up and breath
because if she doesn't, she'll drown and lose a life. She is able to jump on
water. Also, she has awesome hacking skills, and should be able to hack any
computers. She is the slowest runner. She is the only only one able to see some
bonuses and activate some flashing stones. (World 3+)
Brain: The smarter-than-average dog. Like Penny, he doesn't have as much
endurance as Inspector Gadget. However, Brain is the only character that can
crawl through extremely narrow tunnels and double-jump. Brain can dodge the
employees gunshots by ducking, and he is the fastest runner.

Other Characters
===============================================================================
Boss: The man Inspector Gadget works for. Between levels, he will give you a
helpful tip.
Dr. Claw: The antagonist who runs the Cannibal Cactus factory. Be wary! He will
send out minions and employees to stop you from reaching him and destroying his
factory.
Hammer: Great for close range combat! Comes as default weapon and cannot run
out of ammo, so use it to your heart's content! A hammer appears from Inspector
Gadget's head and bops the enemy on the head.
Rubber Arrow: This weapon is useful when hitting enemies from far away.
Net Thrower: Paralyzes an enemy by capturing them in a net.
Helicopter: Press 'Up' while this is selected to fly through the air. Once the
power runs out or you let go of 'Up,' Inspector Gadget will fall back to the
ground.
Photo Flash: It will stun and neutralize enemies that are on the same screen
as you.

World 1: The Jungle

Tip: Collect the question marks, they will give you lots of information.
Before you do anything else, switch to Penny and jump into the water at your
left. Dive down and grab the Rubber Arrows. Come back up before Penny drowns
and then switch to Inspector Gadget. Grab the three question marks and then
head right. You will see an enemy. Duck down and kill it. Continue going right
and you will see a cat head with an arrow on it. Jump on top of it and grab
the Muffin.
Continue heading right, killing the next enemy, until you see some ledges. Fall
down both ledges. Jump below the second one to grab two Gadget Points. Switch
back to Penny and swim into the water. Head left (avoiding the enemy) and grab
the second set of Rubber Arrows.
Head right and you will see another Exit sign and a question mark. Switch to
Brain and double-jump onto the ledge above the Exit sign. Grab the two Gadget
Points and jump onto the higher ledge. Jump onto another ledge right above this
one, and yet another ledge, stopping below a ledge with an enemy on it. Grab
the two Gadget Points to the left and grab the muffin if you need to before
jumping back down. Jump onto another ledge to the right, and grab the four
Gadget Points and then jump back down to the original ledge.
Head down and you will see four more Gadget Points (grab these) and an Exit
sign. After gathering the Gadget Points, head down and to the left (touching
the question mark) and crawl through the narrow passage. Grab the Rubber Arrow
and get out. Head right until you see an overpass. Double-jump, grab the two
Gadget Points, and switch to Inspector Gadget. Head all the way to the right
and down the tunnel. Kill the enemy and then grab the Extra Life!
Head back up the tunnel, climb up the ladder, grab the muffin, and then head
all the way to the left. Grab the two Gadget Points above you and then head
back to the right and climb up the second ladder. Grab the Muffin and head all
the way to the right and touch the Exit Sign. Congratulations, you just
completed the level!

|World 1-2: The Jungle|

Tip: Remember, the question marks are there to help you.
Right as you start, you will see four Gadget Points. Grab them. Head down the
ladder, hit the enemy twice, and grab the Net Thrower. Switch to Brain and grab
the two Gadget Points if you missed them, and then switch back to Inspector
Gadget. Climb down the ladder, jump over the gap towards another ladder. Grab
the two Gadget points and then head down the ladder. Grab the two Gadget Points
and avoid the chute by using Brain's double-jump. Then switch to Penny and
slide down the chute!
Swim to the right, grab the Net Thrower, and jump out of the water. Climb up
the ladder. Head to the left. Switch to Brain, grab the two Gadget Points that
are hanging there, and use his double-jump to make back to the ledge you were
standing on. Head to the right, grab the Muffin, and head UP the ladder. Switch
to Inspector Gadget. Climb up the ledge, grab the two Gadget Points, and then
head back to the ladder.
Switch to Brain. Crawl through the narrow tunnel and grab the Extra Life. Head
back out the tunnel and climb down both ladders until you see and Exit arrow
pointing to the right. Wait until the ledge comes towards you and then jump on
it and ride it to the right. Jump off, grabbing the two Gadget Points, and then
quickly switch to Inspector Gadget before the enemy reaches you.
After dealing with the enemy, jump up the staircase of ledges. Head to the
right once the ledges run out and climb up the ladder. Grab the Net Thrower and
head back down. Wait for the ledge to come. Then jump on it, grab the two sets
of Gadget Points, and then dash onto the last ledge and touch the Exit Sign to
complete the level!

|World 1-3: No Man's Land|

Tip: Gadget has to place his first bomb under a large stone X.
This place has more than just your average monsters. It also has employees of
Dr. Claw working here to make sure the place is protected. Be careful, they can
attack you from far away.
Anyways, head to the right, jump up, and grab the four Gadget Points. Then jump
onto the platform with the employee and kill him. Climb down the ladder and
head to the platforms on the left. Kill the second employee and then switch to
Brain. Avoid the monster, grab the two Gadget Points, and grab the Rubber Arrow
all the way to the right. Head back to where you had killed the employee,
switch to Inspector Gadget, and head to the platform on the left with a
flashing switch. Jump on the switch. A door will open. Crawl through the
opening, grab the Rubber Arrow, and crawl back out.
Jump back up the platforms until you see an Exit arrow pointing to the right.
Head to the right of this Exit arrow. Kill the employee, and continue heading
right. Climb up the ladder, kill another employee, and grab the Net Thrower.
Jump on the switch, and a platform will appear. Jump onto the platform, ride it
to the top, and get off. Kill the employee, climb up the ladder, and kill the
second employee. Head to the right and jump on the flashing switch. An Extra
Life will appear. Switch to Brain, double-jump to get it, and then switch back
to Inspector Gadget.
Head back to the ladder, climb down it, and jump onto the moving platform at
your left. Ride it all the way to the left, kill the employee, and hop up the
platforms. Grab the two Gadget Points along the way, kill the employee, and
climb up the ladder to the left. After dealing with the monster, jump on the
flashing switch. Grab the Net Thrower that appeared, then head back down the
ladder. Head right across the platforms until you see a moving platform. Switch
to Brain and jump onto top of it. Double-jump so that you grab the two Gadget
Points and make it up to the top at the same time, since the platform will fall
once you jump off of it.
Look up, and you should see some Gadget Points. Use Brain to get them, and then
switch back to Inspector Gadget. Hop over the 'X', kill the employee, and then
head back, touching the 'X'. Inspector Gadget will plant bombs. Now, switch to
Penny, head over to the computer with the Exit sign on it, and press Up so that
she can hack it.
You will have to play a mini-game here. To hack the computer, you have to put
an electrical circuit together to get the power supply. Use the control pad to
put the pieces of the circuit together. To place one of the pieces in place,
press 'A' button. To turn it around, push the 'B' button. Press 'Select' to
start the electrical current. Basically, you are given a grid, with several
pieces to select from. Arrange these pieces so that there is a complete path
from the start of the circuit (where Penny is) to the end of the circuit. You
have 112 seconds. Good luck!
Immediately afterwards, it's boss time! Avoid the little red bombs by jumping
over them and head to the huge purple machine with the employee inside it. When
the employee sticks his head out, whack him with the hammer. Immediately, jump
back away from the purple machine so that you don't get zapped by the electric
power running through it. This will also help you dodge the missiles that are
thrown at you. Head back to the purple machine and repeat. It takes three hits
to kill him. Afterwards, the Exit will open. Go into the Exit, and rejoice! You
just beat the first World of Inspector Gadget!

World 2: The Plasma Heart

Tip: There are only question marks and the mad cat heads to guide you!
Head to the right, kill the robo-dog, and grab the two Gadget Points below the
bridge. Continue and jump on to the moving platform. Jump onto the next area,
kill the employee, and continue heading left. Climb up the ladder, kill the
robo-dog, and grab the Gadget Points to the right. Do not continue.
Double-jump to the ledges above with Brain (where the cat head is). Double-jump
again, and then switch back to Inspector Gadget. Climb up the ladder, grab the
Rubber Arrow, and jump on the switch. Switch to Brain, hop onto the moving
platform, grab the Gadget Points, and double-jump to the area on the far right.
Switch to Inspector Gadget, grab the four Gadget Points, and continue to the
right where you will see another moving Platform. Jump onto it, and, avoiding
the employee on the next area, climb down the ladder and grab the Extra Life.
Switch to Penny, grab the four Gadget Points, and land in the water. Dive into
the water, avoiding the divers and monsters, and swim down. Head left when you
see an entrance, and hop out of the water. Not only does this refill Penny's
oxygen meter, but jump on the flashing switch to reveal a Helicopter! Grab it.
Go back, and continue to swim down. Near the question mark will be a tiny
flashing stone. Punch it, and a cave will open up. Go inside, grab the Rubber
Arrow, and head right towards the Exit. Press Up when you see the computer and
sigh. It's hacking time again! You have 104 seconds this time. Good luck.
Once you are done hacking, the gate will open up. Head through, and jump on the
water to grab the two Gadget Points and refill Penny's oxygen meter. Swim right
(avoiding the divers) and then up, and then jump out of the water. Immediately
switch to Inspector Gadget. After killing the employee, switch to Brain and
double-jump to the leftmost ledge. Climb up the ladder and grab the Helicopter
item to the far right, either avoiding or killing the dog. Climb down the
ladder, grab the four Gadget Points, and then grab the Ubi item. Finally, touch
the Exit. You're done!

|World 2-2: The Pipes|

Tip: Gadget has to place his second bomb here under a X sign.
Grab the four Gadget Points in the beginning of the level (above you). Leap
over the gap, kill the employee, and then jump on the flashing switch. Switch
to Brain, jump on the moving platform that appeared, and double-jump into the
small alcove. Switch to Inspector Gadget, kill the monster, and plant the bomb.
Leave the place and head back to where the switch was. Drop down onto the
platform to the right. Head left, and grab the Gadget Points.
Switch to Penny, head down the platforms, and go into the water. Swim to the
right, water jump and grab the four Gadget Points, and then grab the Net
Thrower all the way to the right. Jump out of the water onto the rightmost side
and switch to Brain. Jump up the platforms and switch to Inspector Gadget.
Kill the employees and follow the arrows. Jump onto the moving platform and
head to right side once it reaches the top. Head right, kill the monster, head
through the tunnel, and grab the Rubber Arrow. Crawl back out and jump on the
switch. Head to the left side of the moving platform, kill the monster, switch
to Brain, crawl through the tunnel, and grab the Helicopter. Crawl back out.
Switch back to Inspector Gadget. Ride the moving platform all the way down and
get off at the platform. Kill the employee, jump on his platform, and grab the
Muffin. When you see the Exit arrow pointing down, go UP, past the Skull panel,
and kill the employee. Head back left, hop onto the top with Brain, and kill
the employee there with Inspector Gadget. While there, leap up and grab two
Gadget Points. Head to the rightmost part of the top platform (there will be a
gap you have to jump to reach it). Switch to Brain, and then double-jump so
that you reach a platform with an Extra Life on it. Grab the Extra life, switch
to Gadget, then drop down, grabbing the two Gadget Points. Kill the employee,
switch to Penny, and proceed to hack yet another computer. You have 100 seconds
this time. Good luck. Once you hack it, congrats! You finished the level.

|World 2-3: The Plasma Heart|

Tip: At the top of the tower, neutralize the 3 computers and then escape.
Watch out! The plasma rises quickly in this level! One touch and you are dead!
Be careful. You may have to sacrifice a life or two in order to complete it.
I really would not take time gathering the Gadget Points. Also, it is better to
stick with Brain the entire level, as his double-jump ability will shorten the
trip to climb up.
The MOMENT you start the level, switch to Brain, double-jump across the pit,
and step on the switch. The instant you can move again, jump onto the moving
platform that appeared, and ride it to the top. The most you can do with this
level is just ride and jump to the top. If you see any switches, jump on them
to get a moving platform, and ride them. Avoid the pink rabbits, since Brain
will only be able to endure one hit from them.
When you make it to the top, quickly switch to Penny and hack the computer. You
have 96 seconds this time. Good luck.
After this, you are transported to a room with three computers in them. The
plasma shooter in the bottom of the room will take pop-shots at you. At first,
the computers appear to be floating in space. However, a small, yellow-orange
platform will appear underneath the computer when you jump on a gray switch
(not a flashing one!). Jump on the platform, switch to Penny, neutralize the
computer, switch back to Inspector Gadget, then head for the next one. Once you
have neutralized all three computers, the Exit will open. Head for the Exit.
Congratulations! You have finished this world! Now onto the next one!

Tip: Gadget has to place his third bomb under a panel marked by a large X.
It's boss time! Be very careful as you head down the platform. Avoid the lava
that is jumping, and head over to the left where the boss is. You can't hurt
him with your weapons. But there is a way to kill him. Lure him over to the
right where the lava is jumping. When the lava strikes him, he will split into
three seperate entities of bluish smoke. Attack the smoke with your weapons to
kill him. When the Exit opens, rejoice! World 3 is complete!

Tip: Only Penny can see the bonsuses and open the passages marked by white
lines on the floor and walls. Be careful! Some of the passages are unmarked.

Tip: Remember, there is always a way to open a passage towards hidden bonuses.
It's boss time again! This is a VERY tedious battle. Basically, you're dealing
with a monster train that takes pop shots at you. Lure the train as close to
you as you can. Quickly, jump on the yellow/black platform attached to the it
and attack the WEAPON. Be quick, because if you take too long, the train will
flee all the way to the back and you won't be able to hit it. Once you do beat
the train, rejoice, for you have beaten this world!

Other Items
===============================================================================
Muffin: Restores some health if the character has lost some. Regardless of who
is being controlled, all characters recover health if they have lost some when
a muffin is eaten.
Question Mark: These will be in the stages. They will offer hints and tips
about items, situations, and character abilities incase you need a reminder.
Gadget Point: A collectible point. Collect twenty to get an Extra Life
Mad Cat Heads: You will see what appears to be the head of a cat with an arrow
near it. These arrow point you to the way of out of path bonuses.
Inspector Gadget: Extra life
Exit: Points in the direction of the exit.
Flashing Switch: Jump on these to open a door, create a platform, or do some
other hidden bonus.
