*Sugoroku Guide*

Version 1.0

Original Version
This is a tiny guide to help you when you're playing the Sugoroku
mini-game in Dragon Quest Remix III. I wish I could've included it
with my DQ3 Remix Extras guide but the stupid thing was super full
and using a bigger document like Microsoft Word just messes up the
Japanese. If I was smart I'd figure out how to fix it but things
being as they are I'm stuck doing a separate guide for this aspect
of the game.
====================================================================
Playing Sugoroku
====================================================================
Sugoroku is one of the biggest additions to DQ3 Remix. It consists
of a gameboard with squares that have various effects when you land
on them. Think monopoly without the hotels. You roll a die and move
1 to 6 spaces. Altogether there are 5 different places to play
Sugoroku and they can get pretty complicated when new floors and
warp pools are added. Each play will cost you 1 Sugoroku ticket
which usually isn't a problem since tickets can be found almost
anywhere. Each Sugoroku board has a set number of die rolls you'll
be given to make it through the board with but you can quit anytime
you like. The main object of the board is to get the prize at the
end but on the way there are lots of items you can pick up and lots
of obstacles. When you're not moving you should have 4 options:
Option 1: Roll the die
Option 2: Look around the map
Option 3: Look at your stats
Option 4: Quit playing
Though most of the places on the Sugoroku board are self-explanitory
I think a few need to be commented on:
Grass = When you land here there's a chance that you'll encounter
a monster. If not, then you'll be asked if you'd like to
search the area. Searching the area can yield monsters,
gold, trap doors, random items, or nothing.
Forest = Same as Grass only with an increased chance of a monster
encounter when you land here.
Mountains = Same as Forest only with an increased chance of a monster
encounter when you land here.
Trap Door = These are very bad. If you land on one of these then you
fall to the floor below. If the floor below happens to
be the ground floor then you must start over.
Skull = Land here and you will lose a certain % of your Max MP.
Star = This restores all of your HP/MP
! = This square gives you a chance to adjust your stats. You will roll
the die 3 times. The first roll is to determine which stat will be
be adjusted. If you roll a:
1 then it will be Strength
2 then it will be Speed
3 then it will be Stamina
4 then it will be Intelligence
5 then it will be Luck
6 then it will be Max HP
The second roll will determine by how much the stat will be
increased or decreased. The third roll will determine if the stat
will be increased or decreased. If you roll a 4, 5, or 6 then it
will be an increase. If you roll a 1, 2, or 3 then it will be a
decrease. Not too complicated I hope.
? = This square will do some random effect on your character. Off the
top of my head here are most of them. As a general rule, if you
hear a *zing* sound and the walls flash blue then that's good.
+10 Rolls
+50% of your current gold
-50% of your current gold
Monster Attack!
Tough Monster Attack!
Trap door opens
Find an item
Increase in one of your stats
Decrease in one of your stats
Next roll will be slowed down
Next roll is a 6

Gain 10,000 Exp (Happens on the more difficult boards)
Increase or decrease a stat just as you would in an ! square
Teleport to nearest inn
Teleport back to the start
Switch places with the second person in your group
Personality will be changed
??? There's one effect I'm not sure about

|Items Found in Sugoroku|
-------------------------
=====================================================================
These are all the items you can get in pots, dressers, chests, and
shops while playing on a Sugoroku board. The random items or those
which you might find when searching grass, forest, or mountains
on a sugoroku board. I suspect that some of the items in the pots
and stuff vary a little from game to game but for the most part
they stay the same.
