B = Cancel
A = Confirmation
Start = 1) Choose shape of Dimensioned Die
2) Open option menu (End Turn, Battle Off, Quit Game)
Select = Choose shape of Dimensioned Die
L = Information
R = Change Monster Selected, Rotate pieces
----------------------
3) Starting Out
----------------------
a) Starting new game
TO start a new game choose the new game option
b) The Dice Pool
The "Dice Pool" consists of 15 dice. Each representing a monster.
These
are used to play the game! At first you will start out with 15 dice
for
your dice pool, but later on you can modify yours to help win more
strategic
battles.
c) Monster Classes
This plays an important part in the game. Each type of monster is
stronger and
weaker against certain tyoes, here is a chart to help remember it by.
DRAGON --------> SPELLCASTER
/ \ |
| \ /
WARRIOR<---- BEAST<----ZOMBIE
d) Monter Types Relation to Color of the Die...
Black Die = Item
Blue Die = Warrior
Green die = Beast
Red die = Dragon
White die = Spellcaster
Yellow die= Undead
e) Summoning Levels.
There are four different levels. 1-4, 1 being the easiest to summon
(4 out of 6 sides
are summoning crests) while 2 is a little harder to summon (3 out of
6 sides are summoning
crests) 3 has 2 summoning crests on them, and 4 has only 1 (making it
the hardest to
summon.
f) Movement Types
There are three different movement types. Flying, Tunnel and Regular.
Regular = No symbol, it has no effect on movement
Flying = Its symbol is a feather, only monsters with a certain
special ability and
other flying monters can attack this type.
Tunnel = This ones symbol is a cave. This type can move past
enemies blocking the way.
Arrows = This smbol is...well an arrow! This type can attack
flying type monsters.
g) Life Points
Both players start out with three life points. Once one character
losses all his lifepoints,
he can no longer play, becuase he lost.
Monsters also have life points, this will be explained in more
detail in the next section
"Attack and Defense"
h) Attack and Defense
The symbol for attack is a sword.
The symbol for defense is a sheild.
When someone attacks, the other person has the option to guard. If
they do nnot do so then
the amount of attack points will be deducted from themonsters heart
points.
EX: Monster with 20 attack attacks a monster with 4 heart points.
20 = 2 heart points, so
the opponent's monster only has two life points left.
If the opponent did defend, then the one with the higher power wins
EX: Monster with 20attack attacks a monster with 50 defense. The
attacking monster will
suffer the loss of 3 heart (life) points.
i) Crests
Crests are obtained during battle from rolling the dice. They CANNOT
be carried over to
the next battle. Here is a list of what each crest does.
MOVEMENT = Use these to move your monsters
ATTACK = Use these to attack your opponent's monsters
Defend = Use these to defend your opponents onslaughts
MAGIC = Use these toactivate some of your monsters special
abilities.
TRAP = Use these to activate some of your monsters special
abilities.
Summoning= Use these to SUmmon monsters out onto the field. MUST
have at least two of these
rolled on the smae turn!
------------------------------------
3) Winning Requirements
------------------------------------
There are two requirements for winning a match they are:
1) Eliminate all Three (3) hearts of your opponents Die Master
2) Summon the Four (4) body parts of Exodia and then the Head (much harder to
do)
-------------------------------------
4) Obtaining Dice
-------------------------------------
There are three ways in which to obtain dice.
1) Start A New Game - Although this deletes your old one (only good for getting
good Dice
when you first start out)
2) Beat An Opponent - Every time you defeat an opponent, you will receive a
random die
3) Buy the dice - At Grandpa's shop you can spend money earned from tournaments
to buy new
dice.
---------------------------------
5) How To Play
--------------------------------
1) Choose Dice for Dice Pool
2) Roll 3 Dice
3) Dimension if need be
4) Attack
5) End Turn
6) Opponent Does Same Steps
7) Defend if need be
8) Opponent Ends Turn
9) repeat until one of the two winning requirements is met
----------------------------------
6) Strategy
----------------------------------
There are many types of strategies. They will not be listed in any specific
order.
1) Balance - Remember to keep a steady balance in your dice pool, do not put
too many high
level dice in your dice pool
2) Summon Low Level Monsters First - This can elp you in the later tournaments
or if you
like to "rush" the computer a lot. Note:
"rushing" does
not fair well against human opponents.
3) Make sure your monster have the appropriate skills and attributes for the
match - many
times, what's in your dice pool alone makes or breaks the match.
---------------------------------
7) Modes
---------------------------------
A) Dice Pool
This is where you can work with your own dice pool and modify it. You can
also do so
before a match.
B) Tournament
This is where you can compete in tournaments to unlock new characters for
Free Duel
and earn money. After you beat the first set of tournaments, press down
on the D-Pad
to access the new set.
C) Free Duel
Here, you can play against anyone you have faced in the Tournament mode.
Most of the
Harder characters show up in the 3rd "Dark" Tournaments.
D) Link Duel
This is where you can play against another human. A GBA Link Cable and
2nd Yu-Gi-Oh
DDM game pack are required.
E) Trade
Here you trade dice with another person. A GBA Link Cable and 2nd
Yu-Gi-Oh DDM game
pack are required.
F) Grandpa's Shop
Here you can buy and sell dice. To earn money win tournaments or sell
dice. Remember
to not sell all of your dice, even if you want a specific one.
--------------------------------
8) Tournaments
--------------------------------
A) Lunch Cup Selection
This is the easiest tournament and recommended for beginners. Overall it
is not that
difficult for people who are experienced and have more then 15 dice...
B) Black Crown Cup
This is the next step up. I would say spend enough time to raise your
collection of dice
to 30 + (including doubles) before you go on, only so you can make better
dice pools.
C) Gammon Preliminaries
This is the 3rd cup in this set. Overall not that hard if you listened to
what I said in
the last Cup. Just try hard, luckily Seto Kaiba and some other hard
hitters show up in the
next one, so be prepared!
D) Domino Tournament
Ok so I bent the truth a little, but still this tournament is about two
steps up from the
last one. It is also the only place where you can find The dog, Jill
E) Japan Rep Tournament
This is almost the last one in this set, personally the hardest for
me...Just try Free Mode
a little before attempting this tournament
F) World Championship
This you need to unlock by beating all the other tournaments. This is by
far, the second
hardest of this set. Be prepared, Seto Kaiba, and Maximillian Pegasus
appear now!
G) Pharoah's Treasure Cup
Not as hard as you might think it is, but still can get hard at times,
remember pace
yourself and be causios of new characters, they might be good!
H) Anubis's Disciple Cup
Next hardest, just practice you should have the hang of it by now!
I) Dominator's Holy War
Do not let the name scare you, for what is in a name? Nothing (sometimes
at least). Just
stay focused, not much new here. Some new characters might appear (if you
have not seen
them yet). Odds are that they are strong. I suggest rushing, since most
characters try to
summon level 3 or 4 once they begin.
J) King's Title Cup
Pretty much the same difficulty as Dominator's. Should be easy for you by
now.
K) Millenium Kingdom Cup
Second to last in this set...you're almost there and if you're still
reading this I guess
you need some help... For any character that has been shown on the TV show
(Yami Yugi, Seto,
Para, Dox...) immediately rush them, though not always the best thing to
do, especially if
you are plying against Seto Kaiba.
L) Last Holy War Cup
The hardest in the second set. If you do not have exceedingly strong dice,
just try to rush
the opponenst and block their Die Master so they cannot summon monsters.
M) Dark Carnival
I have not had time to play this many times, but once was defiantly
enough. One of the
hardest I've ever played. The opponents skill rises dramatically, but they
still have one
flaw, so try to rush them. It usually worked for me.
N) Dark Ceremony
I hate this set...anyway, they basically have this flaw throughout most of
this set, and
the way to counter that is to rush them! Or meet them head on with a
deadly force of
monsters (expecting that you have a deadly force of monsters!)
O) Corridor of the Dead
Here you will see a lot of the Rare Hunters and such...but still they can
be rushed
(I told you didn't I). If need be, stall and wipe hi/her out with a army
of monsters
and defeat the die master!
P) Sacrificial Guillotine
You know, these names just make me feel like...there is something wrong
here! Sacrificial
Guillotine may be a bad choice for the name, its more like...On the
Guillotine...this one is
by FAR the HARDEST tournament I have EVER PLAYED!!! And did I say it was
HARD!!! Just do
what you've been doing, its been workin' hasn't it?
Q) Coliseum of The Dead
Another happy name (sarcasm)...Yet another hard one, You should try to
gain control over
the 2 chokepoints in order to win this one
R) The Last Judgement
Hardest of all, this is where you will meet YAMI YUGI the hardest
character in the game to
beat. Beat him 3 times to get to duel him. Beat him then and he will be
unlocked in Free Duel.
