Version 1.0 (6-21-02) - Initial version of this FAQ.
I finished the Introduction, Game Basics, and the
Car List. I started the V-Rally mode.

 -= About this Guide =-
This guide was written entirely by me, H2K03 (Henry Kim),
and is intended to provide you with information on this
   game.

I decided to write this FAQ because of all of the hype
on the graphics and the fact that I love racing games,
   especially rally racing games.

If you would like to contribute something to this guide,
please feel free to e-mail me ([email protected]) with
"V-Rally 3 FAQ" in the subject line.

 -= About the Game =-
Wow!!! That's all I can say about this game. Well, at least
about the graphics. This game had tons of hype before it
was even released. Many said that it had the best graphics
on the Gameboy Advance just based on screenshots and videos
before the game was released. Once I got the game, the hype
was very true! I will say this, as of right now, this game
has the absolute best graphics on the Gameboy Advance period.

I still would recommend GT Advance 2: Rally Racing or Advance
Rally (Japan) over V-Rally 3, however, if you really want to
see the best graphics you must get this game. It's a fun game
too. It may seem like a short game at first, but the Time
Trial offers so much replay value.

-= 3) Game Basics =-

 -= Controls =-
The game controls are pretty much standard.

Directional pad - Move around in the menu. Move left and
     right during a race.
A Button - Confirm in the menu. Accelerate during a race.
B Button - Cancel in the menu. Brake during a race.
L Button - Serves no purpose in the menu. Shift down during
a race only if you're using Manual (which I don't recommend)
R Button - Serves no purpose in the menu. Shift up during
     a race.
Start Button - Serves no purpose in the menu except to go
through the title screen. Pause during a race.
Select Button - Switch between internal and external view
     during a race.
A + B Button - Serves no purpose in the menu. Hand brake
     during a race.

-= 5) Different Modes =-
----------------------
 -= a) V-Rally Mode =-
This mode of play is the main part of V-Rally 3 in the
beginning. You will play this mode when you first get
the game and when you're finished, you will probably
just play the Time Trial mode most of the time.

The object of this mode is to get the fastest time in
each of the 5 stages. The first 4 stages are grouped by
two's and then you race the fifth stage by itself.
   In other words:
   1. Stage 1
      Stage 2

   2. Stage 3
      Stage 4

   3. Stage 5

You can view the Stage Information before any of the
three parts of the race and you can change the Setup of
   your car.

   Setup:
    Tires:
     1. Asphalt Tire
     2. Rain Asphalt Tire
     3. Gravel Tire
     4. Rain Gravel Tire
     5. Dirt Tire
     6. Rain Dirt Tire
     7. Snow Tire
    Suspension:
     1. Soft
     2. Medium
     3. Hard
    Steering:
     1. Slow
     2. Normal
     3. Fast
    Brakes:
     1. Light
     2. Medium
     3. Strong
    Gearbox:
     1. Short
     2. Medium
     3. Long

After each of the three parts of the race, you will have
a chance to tweak your car and repair any damage to your
car. You have 50 min of repair time.

You can repair any of the following:
    1. Body
    2. Suspension
    3. Brakes
    4. Steering
    5. Turbo

The order of the countries in which you race is random so
I will list them in alphabetical order.

      1. Finland
Game description: Very fast forest rally. Main
characteristic: jumps. You must tame the terrain to be
able to win, because out here, you're not the boss!

       Stage Information:
        Stage 1:
         Weather: Sunny
         Time: 12:00 p.m.
         Surface: Gravel - Asphalt
         Length: 4.18 km 2.60 mi

        Stage 2:
         Weather: Sunrise
         Time: 8:00 a.m.
         Surface: Gravel - Asphalt
         Length: 4.12 km 2.56 mi

      2. France
Game description: V-Rally France is one of the hardest
of all rallies. It takes place in the mountains on very
winding roads. Beware, the forecast is for rain.

      3. Germany
Game description: Very winding rally in a snowy forest.
Beware of changes in the road surface during the race.
The car is very sensitive to them.

      4. Great Britain

      5. Kenya
Game description: The average speed of this rally is
more than 100 KPH but the best drivers reach 210 KPH.
This circuit is very fast and boasts numerous jumps.
       Coming through!

My description: This is a pretty easy country. Not
too many turns and a lot of dirt. Pretty much straight
the whole way through. Has several jumps throughout.

      6. Portugal
Game description: Magnificent dirt course, but with
plenty of traps in wet conditions. This rally demands
a high degree of concentration from drivers.
