KOF EX2 Striker Combos FAQ Ver.2

Mini Intro on Striker combo
Striker combo are easy powerful combos that can easily do 35%-100% damage. They
are the key to do tons of damage towards a opponent. Most of these combos are
just for show but there are some useful combos for the combo type fighters.
Striker combo type fighters are Kyo, Terry, Takuma, and others are usually a
semi combo type.
I highly recomend Baos combo with Kyo and Kyo and Takuma's combo with Ryo. If u
like Ralf and Clark use Leona's combo.

Introduction to the Striker for combos
The striker that help make stronger combos are:
-Ryo-hits grounded and air bounced opponent
-Kensou-fast and hits air bounced opponent
-Kyo- surrounding flame hits grounded opponents
-Terry-the geyser can hit air bounced enemies
and grounded enemies.
-Andy-hits air bounced enemy and a juggle starter
-Takuma-not too useful, able to start a juggle
-Leona juggle starter. Hits grounded enemy and juggle them. She can be a combo
ender also
-Bao-hits grounded and air bounced enemy but can only be a combo ender. Cannot
be followed up
-Mai-hits both air and ground enemy. Can add additional hits during her attack
but not after she finishes
-Yuri-hits grounded and air bounced enemy. Can follow up after the attack
-Kim-a juggle starter
-Chang-combo ender, hits both air and ground enemy
-Choi-hits air bounced enemy
-Iori-juggle starter
-Moe-hits grounded and air bounced enemy. (Not sure if a follow up is possible)
-Shinobu-a cheap yet good juggle starter and hits air bounced enemy (don't know
if grounded enemy can be hit)
KEYS
QCF=quarter circle forward
QCB=quarter circle back
HCF=half circle forward
HCB=half circle back
DP=forward,down,down-forward
RDP=back,down,down-back
CBF =charge back 2sec then forward
HCBF=half circle back forward
DF=Down-Forward
CDU=charge down to up
CDBF=charge downback then forard
QCBF=quarter circle back then forward
Notes-Leona can create a giant juggle if you crouch HK during her first hit
then the bomb should knock the opponent higher to buy more time to do combos or
just to add more damage with Crouch HK.
-she can hit grounded enemy at first hit and any grab can hit the enemy after
the first hit.
Striker combo tips
-Yuri, mai, Leona, kensou have a special effect at corners, u can use a move
that juggles the opponent then u can walk under the opponent and call them and
make them appear from the corner to hit the opponent from behind. Yuri does
this the best.
-Ryo, Leona, Moe can make the enemy stand up again after a knockdown or juggle.
Making u have time to finish them with a ground combo.
-Kensou is the quickest striker that can hit the opponent in the air for
further juggle.
-clark does no damge but hits quickly and alows a juggle
-Moe-OTG llike leona, and if its a 1 hit it can either make the opponent stand
or hit a opponent in a ground stat like leona, meaning u can grab for a follow
up[.

Jump D, Stand C, Half Forward B, Call Yuri so that she comes from the direction
you are throwing the opponent into, she should end up hitting them back into
the corner. Do Galactica Phantom QCF x2 +LP+HP, time it as Yuri is hitting with
her second uppercut and that should kill them straight out.

opponent lands on his arm(2hit juggle), HCB LK, super cancel to QCB HCF HK.

QCF HP move(1 hit no juggle), HCF HK after Leona hits, QCF HP call Leona, run a
bit HCF HK, QCF HP. Around 90%
Replace the last HCF HK with HCBx2 HP for 100%.

Jump HP, Stand HP(1 hit), HCF HP, Down Down HP, call Leona(I hit no juggle),
HCF HK, QCF HP or HCBx2 HP.
Notes: Leona can be called and hit after HCF HP and follow up anywhere, all
command and normal grab can be done on Leona's 1st hit. DP HK knocks enemy
farther than any grab, if u reach near the corner call Leona with DP HK with
QCF HP to do the 1st combo above. Calling Leona during HCF HK can only be done
near the corner in order to hit. HCBx2 is the most damaging so end your Leona
combo with it or do HCFx2 HK.

Hold on and press LP(not part of the combo):  HCB Stand HP(1 hit, the special
shouldn't come out), quickly release LP while performing HCB HP(HCBx2 P super),
call Leona, HCBx2 HP, Leona , HCB HP.

Ralf's Galactica Phantom (the super that does 65%)
Use a striker to help trick the opponent to get hit
-near the corner for best results for most of them, all can be rolled away with
timing
-use Leona after HCF K call when opponent gets his/her back landed on Ralf's
arm, then after the explosion perform QCF HP+LP, when opponent stands up Boom.
-When enemy is down call Takuma or Andy, ASAP do Super. If opponent gets hit by
the striker the super will combo off it or if opponent blocks the striker the
super will hit a short moment afterwards
-call Chang and do super, this works only on blocking opponent. Chang will do
multi hit chip damage and the super will hit right when the last hit hits.
-Or do Ralf's corner combo with Yuri from the Striker combo section

during the 3rd hit of FORWARD BACK FORWARD P, juggle and hit with F HCFLP, if

-Power attack with the first two character then play defensively with Iori to
bear oppnent

Kim,Clark or Ralf with Leona
the crazy leona striker combo. then leona for the speed and range of her many
normal moves
Kim use anything into FORWARD LP call clark on 2nd hit clark grabs move back
and QCBF K.

Strategy(u can find a lot better strategies by going to KOF 2000 and 98 faqs)
Takuma
-great to fill bars recommend place first or second also good for last since
hes good even without strikers.
-Jump HPHK has high priority
-Far HP, Far LK and Crouch HP can become simple anti airs, use QCF HCB HP for
antiair since its high priority.
-crouch HK is fairly fast and long reach.
-stye 1-use firebal tacktic, firebal of various speed then mix some super
firebals. the super firebal is hard to dodge, so using it against character who
goes under or above normal firebal are punished. try using far LK as a poke for
anti air and far HK or HP for a slow hard poke.
-pause between fireball to check opponents reactions, if he does a huge jump
then QCF HCB HP, if he rolls walk jump back with HPHK,
- use LP super fireball for defensive enemy because its harder to roll past it
and HP super for offensive character to surprise them.
-style 2-charge back down Jump HK, Stand HP, Forward HK(CDBF HK move), if
blocked u have the same recovery as enemy so u can either block or do crouch
jab,FORWARD LP, QCF HP to make distance or even QCF HCB HP if you think the
opponent will poke u back.
-walk a bit by bit while blocking wait for opponent to make a error while
charging DB for getting ready for his juggle kick special move.

Reiji(combination of kensou and andy)
-Far LK for anti air, its quick!
-Mash HK and LK for defense, far HK for anti crouch attack, close HK for anti
air, Crouch HK for long reach sweep
-ABUSE HCF HK or LK, hella quick to come out and acts as a chipper and anti air
with quick recovery, try the following moves below after the recovery
-when opponent is down try either a FORWARD HP grab(powerful), forward
LK(overhead), or Crouch HK(sweep) quickly input QCF LP, to push back and press
K if opponent block high to knock the opponent again
-Jump HPHK for air fights and HK for quick retreat jump
-his HCF K, QCF P can combo of a jab
-Stay on ground and poke all u want with HCF K or any kick button
-he has a good cross over and Crouch LK starting combo that does mucho damage
-dont rely on supers, they are too slow to rely on.But the QCB HCF K is a good
dodge move.
-Main combo, try to grab the opponent with HP then call striker to juggle hit
with QCF HCB HP.
-great character but lacks a high priority instant anti air (AKA Uppercut)
other than that hes a good cross over comboer,crouch LK comboer, poker, and
decent mind game

Kensou
-Far LK anti aair(same as Reiji)
-Far HK same as Far LK but more damge and slower, high priority
-Crouch HK quick and effective
-RDP K for anti cross over
-QCF X2 P, use it after blocking a opponents move with some recovery. example
block Andy's DB Forward HP, into QCF HP move it usually push's too far to
counter it but with the super it will instantly hit ANdy after he is pushed
back.
-HPHK is fair useful in canceling into QCB LP to suprise oppnent.
-QCB LP has quick recovery, HCF LP or HP and QCF K has autogaurd which is good
to crush oppoents poking moves.
-air HK and HKHP has good range
-Abuse his normals and use specials for applying pressure, then block a
oppoents slow recovery move and punish with his super.

Chang
-Use Far LP to poke and Far HP and CBF LP to poke at distance
-ABUSE extrem high priority jump HPHK
-ABUSE HCB FORWARD P grab after applying pressure to make opponet block, roll,
run
-DF LP under fireballs except terry's, Iori's, super fireballs, and Bao's
-jump back HP to retreat
-QCFx2 LP for anti air, the best if lucky u can hit the opponent in air and
counter for 2 hit for about 50% for one bar
-grab with HP call striker then QCF HCB HP for crazy damage
-HPHK for anti air

Leona
-Far HK anti crouch attack, close HK anti air and combo starter
-crouch HK anti air and range to punich
-crouch HP anti air and air LK for air to air
-CDU LP for anti air
-air QCB P to crush opponent anti air
-jump HK a few time for quick attack with range
-random CBF LK for rnage and quick recovery if blocked
-QCF x2 anti projectile and non attacking oppnent jump
-QCB HCF HK for blocked move punish
-air QCB HCF P for air to air
-CBF LP for chipp damage
-at corner repeat CBF LP on blocking opponet because it looks as if its a
continual blob of attack
-QCB LK at far on turtle opponent and then try jump and overhead or QCB HCF P
to combo it if hit.
-if Close HK connect do QCB HCF K to a easy combo

Ralf and Clark
-far HP long reach, crouch HP has quicker recovery with less range
-try run and sweep and the above, and jump HP for Ralf and LP for CLark a few
times, then try to grab the opponent after the opponent assumes he should block
-air HKHP crushes most anti airs, air HP for Ralf is high priority and air LK
is also highpriority for Ralf
-air HK for Clark is high priority air to air, air LP is high priority and quick
-DP K for Clark counters many moves.
-use roll and grab
-Far LK, HK and HPHK for ralf are good pokes
-rely on their normal most of the times and grab the opponent when they start
blocking a lot.

Bugs
-Iori in master mode and QCF LP fireball cannect the opponent with QCF HCB HP
together cause iori to do his super, and stop at 6 hit and during that time the
opponent can still move.
a easy way to activate this iori bug- master mode-corner-you having back to
corner press HK to distance yourself from opponent call Clark, roll behind
clark , move to about 3/4 of screen from corner, QCF LP, cancel to QCF HCB HP,
time it so the firebal hits as the opponent falls from clarks throw, the super
should also hit at the same time as the fireball. then the bug happens.
-unblockable fireball- takuma use LP fireball or LP super fireball on waking
opponent, then hcb k. its unblockable. Bestset up is after a QCF HCB P.
-Unblockable fireball 2-athena use LP fireball and then QCF K teleport and it
will be unblockable.
