Version 1.05 (2/16/04): After 1+ years since this game's release, I've added
some new info to the Overview section of the guide. I felt it should be here,
and as such it was included. With that, this should be the final update ever
needed for this FAQ.

Version 1.0 (11/20/02): The complete version of this FAQ.

Version 0.9 (11/18/02): The first version of this FAQ. A good amount of
everything is complete so far; there is still some left to do, which will be
done in the next several days.

After a long, 8-year wait, the fourth game in the Metroid saga is here! This
time around, the story takes a twist, but overall it's the same Samus with
many of the same moves, and then some. I won't spoil the story here for those
die-hards out there reading this, but read on if you want to know all about
this awesome game!

HOVERING ENERGY ORGANISM: METROID

In Cosmic yeah 20X5, a Galactic Federation exploration vessel discovered an
unknown organism on SR388. The hovering creature was a Metroid, an entity
that exhibited frightening parasitic, energy-absorbing properties.

Some time later, gifted bounty hunter Samus Aran was dispatched alone to
engage teh Zebesian Space Pirates who abducted the Metroid specimen for use
as a weapon. On Zebes, Samus also encountered the biomechanical Mother Brain,
leader of the Space Pirates, and dispatched her in a bitter fight. From then
on, Metroids were viewed as a highly dangerous life form.

Eventually, Samus Aran was sent to SR388 to exterminate the last remaining
Metroids--but only after an entire Federation Platoon was wiped out in an
earlier attempt.

At the end of her battle on SR388, one Metroid hatchling was born before
Samus's eyes and it imprinted upon her as a mother figure. Samus took this
larval Metroid, the last in the universe, to the Galactic Space Academy for
observation and research.

This research revealed several possible applications of Metroid-based
technology for the betterment of humanity. The unique energy-absorption
properties of Metroids could not be harnessed when they were artificially
reproduced in captivity.

Just when it seemed as if peace might prevail in the galaxy, Space Pirates
returned for the Metroid Hatchling and took it back to Zebes.

Samus followed the pirates back to Zebes and fought to exterminate their
threat and save the last Metroid.

In the final battle with Mother Brain, the hatchling saved Samus, giving up
its life in the process. Samus succeeded in defeating Mother Brain, but the
universe lost the promise of using Metroids for the power of good.

FROM THE JOURNAL OF SAMUS ARAN...

SR388. A vile planet, former home of the Metroids. After so many years, the
remaining creatures on this planet still seemed to be trying to recreate a
natural hierarchy, one without Metroids at the top.

Biologic Space Labs was hired by the Federation to observe this restructuring
of the ecosystem. And because of my experience on SR388, the Federation
governor for this sector hired me to provide field assistance on the planet.
So, once again I found myself drawn to that forsaken rock.

The biological sample collection was going smoothly on the planets surface
when I came into contact with an organism I had never before encountered.

The organism was an undiscovered, unnamed parasitic life form, which the
researchers later called "X." Thinking little of it at the time, I boarded a
ship and set out for the next collection point. Suddenly I felt my entire
body seize up, and I lost consciousness. The ship began to drift away from
planetary orbit toward an asteroid belt.

Thankfully, an auto-escape pod jettisoned me from the craft before the ship
was destroyed. The researchers in the newly-constructed research station
orbiting SR388 sent a shuttle to recover the pod shortly thereafter. However,
in the time since my infection, the X had multiplied rapidly in my body and
had even infected my Power Suit.

My heart rate and blood pressure dropped rapidly as I fell into a deep coma.
The Onboard Medic Simulation predicted only a 0.873% prognosis for survival.
I was transported to Galactic Federation HQ for emergency medical treatment.

The fact that the Power Suit contained biological components and was also
integrally connected to my body seemed to worsen the matter. The Federation
surgeons were unable to remove the suit while I was unconscious. Their only
choice was to cut and remove parts of the infected suit from my still-
unconscious form; immediately after, they sent the suit parts to the Biologic
Space Labs research station for study.

Even with the parts removed, however, the X infection was spreading rapidly
through my nervous system, and the researchers monitoring my deterioration
knew of no cure...

Someone proposed a desperate treatment: create a vaccine from Metroid cells.
Apparently the Federation had preserved a cell culture from the last Metroid.
The scientists quickly prepared and administered the vaccine. The symptoms of
the infection disappeared instantly, and all of the X parasites within me
died in moments. I am still amazed by the serendipity of this result...

When I woke, the scientists told me that the hatchling had saved me once
again.

Almost immediately after I awoke, we received a distress call from the
research station.

"Emergency! Explosion of unknown origin in the Quarantine Bay!"

The screams from the com receiver were loud enough for me to hear even in the
infirmary. I knew that something terrible was about to happen... was already
happening. I immediately boarded the ship the Federation had provided me and
sent a reply message:

"Docking with Biologic Space Labs station in 10 minutes. Prepare the landing
bay!"

==========
Parasite X
==========

The main addition to this game are the parasites, known as simply X. They are
widespread in the space station, infecting all forms of life. Luckily, Samus
is immune to them, and contact with an X parasite heals her. There are 4
types of X parasites I've seen in the game:

Small Yellow: Recovers 10 points of health.
Small Green: Recovers a few Missiles/Power Bombs.
Small Red: Recovers a large amount of health/Missiles/Power Bombs.
Blue: Freezes you upon contact. Once you have the Varia Suit, it heals.
Large X: Gives you a new ability (always found after beating a boss).

==============
Shine-Sparking
==============

Perhaps _the_ most useful technique to know in Metroid is the shine-spark. It
basically refers to the action of holding a charge after running/building it
up with the Speed Booster. When you get a charge, you'll start glowing red;
press Down to hold it, thus shine-sparking has occurred. At that point, you
can move around for a few seconds before the charge totally dissipates.

However, you can dash in several directions by pressing A and the direction
you wish to go (forward, up-left, up, and up-right). This will allow you to
crash through special walls/blocks to enter otherwise inaccessible
passageways. Be warned though; it takes skill to effectively use the shine-
spark ability. You can also do the above in ball form by pressing A and
holding in the direction you wish to move, allowing you to shoot through
smaller passages.

============
Wall-Jumping
============

A semi-unknown ability Samus has from the start is the ability to wall jump.
To do this, somersault towards a wall while holding in the direction of the
wall. When you make contact, press A and hold the opposite directional button
to do a wall jump. This would be useful for climbing up narrow corridors
without the Space Jump.

============
Introduction
============

The game opens with a scene showing Samus and some soldiers returning to
SR388 (where Metroid II took place, for the uninformed). It is here that
Samus is attacked by the parasite known as X. Later on, the effects of X
knocked Samus unconscious and sent her spiraling into an asteroid belt. The
escape pod automatically kicks in and the Biologics crew aboard the space
station rescues her.

However, the X has already set in, destroying her Power Suit and altering her
body. The doctors injected a Metroid cell into Samus in hopes of curing it.
That did the job, and the X were disposed of. This also made Samus immune to
the effects of X from then on. After that, Samus headed to the Biologic Space
Labs (B.S.L.), otherwise referred to as the space station from earlier. Upon
arrival, the ship's computer, known as Adam, will take over and give you your
orders. This is when the game begins.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Starting off, you are notified of an explosion in the Quarantine Bay of the
station, and you must investigate it. So, start by heading left through a
couple rooms until you reach the tall room. Jump up the ledges to the top,
and go into the room to the left. Continue westward until you come to the
Navigation Room (signified as an 'N' on your map). You will be briefed
further on your objective.

Continue into the next room, which will be darker than the previous several
ones. Go up to the top, then go west into the open room. There, go down and
left into the Quarantine Bay. Here, simply go ahead and kill the creature you
find with 2 shots. Then, head back a few rooms to the Navigation Room, where
you will learn more of the X parasites, as well as your next target.

From here, head east out of the room, then go up the ledges until you reach a
regular door to the right (you cannot open the green doors at the top yet).
Go through into the next room. Kill the creature here and continue to the
Save Room. Save, then continue onward to the following room. Jump up to the
top area, then go right into the Navigation Room. You will learn about a
Missile download in the Data Room, which you will be directed to head towards
now.

So, head out of this room into the next one. There, jump up the ledges and go
through the door into the next room. Go up the elevator and head left into
the next area. Here, you can go straight to the left into a Recharge Room,
then a Save Room. Do so, then back in the large room, jump up the ledges and
head into the Navigation Room, followed by the Data Room. Collect the Missile
data in the Data Room, then go to the Navigation Room to obtain some more
information. Head out of here, then back down and left into the Save Room.

Head back to the large room and jump up the ledges. Jump across the ledges
until you come to a wall. Shoot the panel on the wall with a Missile to
destroy it, then jump in and head out of here. In the next chamber you'll
encounter a gate creature blocking your path. Blast it with 3 Missiles to
clear the way. Make your way down through this vertical shaft by falling
through disintegrating floors and shooting cracked walls. At the very bottom,
be sure to collect the game's first Missile Tank (15). Continue downward and
go left into a side room. Shoot the left platforms to uncover a second
Missile Tank (20).

Now, head right through a couple rooms until you reach a more lighted one.
Jump up some steps and go right into a Save Room. After you're done there, go
back and take the bottom path. Shoot the red creature guarding the door with
3 Missiles when its eye is open (when its eye flashes, jump to avoid being
hit by a beam attack). Collect the red X to recover fully, then head into the
next room. Climb/jump up the ledges by hanging and jumping, then continue to
find an Energy Tank (1). Stand at the edge of the pit and shoot 2 Missiles at
the ceiling to reveal a secret passage. Go through into a hidden room
containing another Energy Tank (2). Go back into the previous room and drop
through the floor, and you'll be pitted against a boss called Arachnus. Visit
my Bosses section for help with winning this rather simple fight.

Grab the large X parasite that is left after the battle to regain the Morph
Ball ability. Use it to head west out of the room. In the next darkened room,
climb the walls and shoot cracked passages, then roll through with the Morph
Ball. At the end, continue through the wall into a well-lit room again. Here,
go left and jump up a couple ledges to find a gate creature blocking the
doorway. Waste it by launching 3 Missiles at it, then enter that room, which
is a Recharge Room. Recharge yourself, then leave and continue down and left
into the Save Room.

From there, continue to the vertical room. Go down to the bottom, then go
left into the Navigation Room. Here, you'll be briefed on your next mission
in Sector 1. Head out of here into the next room. There, go up and you'll
notice a small passage to the right where you can fit through in ball form.
Enter that room and take a Missile Tank (25). Go back out and continue to the
top area, then go left into the next room. Go left and roll through the small
passage again, then shoot through the door to a new room. Continue down the
hall to the elevator, then go down it. You will notice an explosion in the
wall, and a clone of Samus walking out! Anyway, at the bottom, head left into
the next room where Elevator 1 is. Go down and enter Sector 1 (SRX).

==============
Sector 1 (SRX)
==============

Down here, head right into the Navigation Room to start. You will get a map
of the area, and your objective to clean up 5 atmospheric stabilizers within
the area. Continue through the next 2 rooms, where you can save and recharge.
When you get to the first actual room of the sector, drop down to the bottom
of the room and head east into the following room you can enter. Defeat some
creatures in here, and destroy the barrier creature with 3 Missiles. Continue
to the next room. Follow the path around this room and you'll come to a
hovering fan unit, which is covered by a parasite. Shoot into the opening
with 3 Missiles to clear the first atmospheric stabilizer. Go right into the
next room.

Follow the path through here, defeating the enemies you encounter. Before you
reach the higher ledge, roll up into a ball and roll right into a secret
tunnel to reach an Energy Tank (3). Go back out and head right into another
room. There, jump across and enter the room directly across from you. Head up
through this room by shooting holes in the walls/floors. When you come to the
next stabilizer, stand underneath and shoot 3 Missiles upward to clear it.
Exit this room and drop down the ledges to the very bottom, then go right
into that room.

Here, head directly across into the Save Room ahead. Save in that room, and
take note of the crack in the wall. Shoot it with a Missile to reveal a
hidden passage; jump and turn into a ball in mid-air, then drop into that
passage and enter a hidden room. Wall jump to the top area, and collect a
Missile Tank (30). Continue back to the vertical room outside the Save Room.
From there, go through the door straight ahead into another tall room. Go up
the ledges and enter the first room on the left.

In this room, go left and shoot Missiles to defeat the armored enemies. In
the following area, go into the room straight across. You can't do much in
here for now, but you can jump/grab onto the ceiling and climb across the pit
to reach a Missile Tank (35). We'll come back here later for the other
goodies to be found. Exit here, then drop down the ledges in the previous
room. Avoid the enemies if you want, or blast them with Missiles. When you
get to the bottom, head into the east room. There, simply continue through to
a larger room.

Head all the way to the right side of the room. Climb on the wall and shoot
Missiles into the stabilizer to clear it up as well. There are now two
remaining to fix, so drop down and defeat the enemies, then head into the
next room. Beat the armored enemy with a single Missile, then continue onward
to the next large room. In there, grab onto and jump from ledge to ledge to
reach the upper area, then go right. Hang on the ceiling and blast the next
stabilizer with 3 Missiles to clean it up. Go back left and enter the upper
door to the left. In that room, collect the Missile Tank (40), then leave the
room. Go down and right through the bottom half of the room into another one.

Here, make your way to the top of the room while defeating the wall enemies
with some Missiles. Once there, enter the room to the left. Shoot the light
on the ceiling to open the gate, then continue to the following room. There,
defeat the enemies hanging from the ceiling and walls, then jump onto the
ceiling. Go all the way to the left, then shoot the wall to reveal an
opening. Jump in and roll to the next room. Drop through some disintegrating
floors, then roll under the wall and head into the room to the left. Make
your way through there and into the following room, which is a Save Room.

When you're done in the Save Room, leave it and head upward now. When you
come to the gate creature, shoot a Missile into its eye when it opens (if its
eye opens and it flashes, jump/duck to avoid the beam). 3 Missiles will
destroy it. Recover with the red X parasite and enter that room. In there,
head left to a Chozo Statue. Shoot the item orb it holds, but be careful as
the statue will transform into a floating spiked orb creature. Avoid it and
shoot Missiles into its eye when you can, but be quick to jump over the beam
it shoots when facing you. 4 Missiles should do the trick. When it's over,
grab the Charge Beam ability from the giant parasite.

With your new weapon, jump up the ledges and go through the upper door to
reach a new room. In there, shoot through the ceiling and jump to the upper
area. Hang from the ceiling and shoot a Missile at the left wall to reveal a
hole. Shoot several more shots to totally open it, then roll through to reach
a new room. Defeat the creatures here and collect a Missile Tank at the
bottom (45). Leave this room, then continue right into the following room. In
here, follow the path right and down, then roll under the wall to the left.
Jump onto the upper ledge and shoot the right wall to open up a passage so
you can shoot the stabilizer where it's vulnerable. Shoot 3 Missiles through
and your mission will be complete.

Now that you've completed what you needed to, go back down and roll under the
wall, then go right into the next room. Shoot the light to open the gate,
then continue to another room. Now, head up and follow your map to reach the
Navigation Room once again. Be sure to utilize the Recharge and Save Rooms
prior to it. In the nav room, you'll get your new mission for Sector 2 (TRO).
Head out of the room and go up the elevator to reach the main deck area.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Back up here, head right through the doors until you reach the elevator
leading down into Sector 2. Go down that one, obviously.

==============
Sector 2 (TRO)
==============

Once you arrive here, enter the next Navigation Room for briefing. You will
learn of the SA-X at this point, too. Anyway, you need to get Bombs, but
first the mission is to find the Security Room within the sector, so you can
open Level 1 hatches. Continue through the Save/Recharge rooms ahead.

In the first regular room, head down the paths to the very bottom. Shoot out
the floor and head right, then up the other side of the room. Go right into
the next room at the top. Run through here, defeating the 2 red enemies you
find. In the next room, get to the top of the chamber, then enter the room to
the left. Drop down into the Security Room and activate the Level 1 hatches.
Now you can open those blue doors you've seen some of earlier. Go right
through a blue door and out of this room.

Now, backtrack several rooms to the Data Room on your map. Your next mission
will be to retrieve the Bomb data further in the sector. Go back out of the
room into the first regular room. Head to the bottom of it, then go left into
that next room. Defeat some red enemies if you like, otherwise continue to
the following room. When you enter here, get ready to aim upward to shoot
down the flying enemy when it swoops unexpectedly. Jump up to the top area
and go left into the Data Room. Collect the Bomb data in here, then leave.

Back in the previous room, go right and shoot apart the flying enemy, then
continue to the ledge by the wall. Bomb a passage into the wall and enter to
collect a Missile Tank (50). Go back into the main room and go down, then to
the left corner of the room. Bomb the floor and drop into a hidden passage,
then roll through to the end. Be ready to blast the flying enemies that come
at you. Then, enter the room to the right and save your game.

Next, go back to the previous room, then head all the way left into that
room. Roll through the small passages, using Bombs to boost yourself over the
blocks. Make your way to the very bottom of the area by killing enemies and
breaking blocks with your Bombs. When you get there, enter the next room.
Drop down to the lower area and go right into another room. In here, make
your way to the bottom of the room by bombing floors and defeating enemies.
When you get to the bottom-left corner, go right and bomb a block that's
blocking a small passage. Go through it, then bomb the low wall to reveal
another passage. Roll through and drop through a disintegrating floor, then
defeat the enemy and collect the Missile Tank (55). Shoot upward through the
ceiling, then get out of the passage and continue right into the next room.

In this room, jump and roll over the first wall. In the middle area, defeat
the 2 red creatures. Bomb the floor in the right side of the area to make a
tall platform rise from the floor. Use it to get up to the next passage. Roll
through and head into the next room. Continue right into the following room.
Roll all the way to the end of the room, underneath all the creatures, then
bomb through the floor above. Enter the Save Room and save there, then go
back a couple rooms to the vertical one you ran right through.

There, go up a bit and you'll notice a door to the right on the other side of
a wall. Get over the wall and enter that room. Head right and defeat some
enemies, then continue to the next one. Continue to the right into a Save
Room. Save, then go right into another room. Avoid the enemies and continue
into the last room. There, simply pick up the Energy Tank (4) on the ledge.
Go back and save again, then go back into the room to the right. Bomb the
floor in the corner and drop down into another room. Shoot the gate creature
with 3 Missiles to clear it, then recover with the red X and enter the boss
chamber. Go right and you'll meet the Tube Parasite (this isn't its real
name; just one I made up for now). Read the Bosses section for information on
defeating it.

When it's over, grab the large parasite to get the Hi-Jump/Jumpball ability
back! With your newfound power, jump back up the left wall and exit the room.
Go up through the passage in the ceiling, then left 2 rooms to reach the Save
Room. Save, then continue to the next room. Continue left into another room,
then in there, destroy the enemy and bomb the floor at the left end of the
room. Drop through the floor into another room. Go right and you'll witness
SA-X moving onward below. Wait until she's gone, then shoot through the floor
to the right and head through that door as well. In this next room, go up and
left into that new room.

In here, go left and hi-jump to the ceiling track. Climb to the left and drop
onto the ledge to grab a Missile Tank (60). Go into the water below and
defeat the fish, then bomb the floor to make a platform rise up. Use it to
jump to the left ledge, then roll through and continue to the next room. Bomb
the floor to raise up another platform, then become a ball and jump at the
left wall. Bomb the top area of it to reveal a passage; jump up through it
and collect another Missile Tank (65). Now, head back a couple rooms to the
dry vertical room.

From here, jump your way to the very top of the area. In the narrow passages,
bomb the floor and walls to continue. Go through the door to reach the next
room. Run through to the following room. In there, go right and jump/hang
from ledge to ledge. When you get onto the upper right ledge, roll onto the
platform and bomb the wall to reveal a passage. Enter to get a Missile Tank
(70). Go back out and head left to another room.

Here again, bomb your way out of the tunnel, then head directly upward. Go
through the blue door into that room. Defeat some enemies, then bomb the
right wall and roll through the passage. Collect a Missile Tank (75), then go
back out to the larger room. Go down and left, shoot the ceiling above, then
make your way upward. Enter the first room to the left. Go left and hi-jump
over the giant organic pillar, then collect a Missile Tank (80) and exit.
Continue up and left into the Recharge/Save/Navigation Rooms. Stop in each,
and you'll learn your next mission is in Sector 4 (AQA). Continue to the next
room, and go up the elevator to the deck.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Back here, head into the room to the right. Go down that elevator and enter
Sector 4 (AQA).

==============
Sector 4 (AQA)
==============

Here, start off as usual by visiting the Navigation Room. You'll learn of
Serris, and how you must terminate that creature. Continue through the Save
and Recharge Rooms, then head into the first main room of the sector. There,
simply jump across a few ledges and go down and left into the next room. In
the second area, simply continue to the following room. Head upward to the
top, then jump and bomb the left wall to open it up. Climb across the ceiling
to the end, then drop onto a ledge in the air below. Jump across across
several of those, defeating enemies as you progress, until you reach another
room.

In this room, go left and jump over the water below. Kill some enemies, then
take the upper path to the left and into some water. Go left and enter the
next room. Head left and up the wall, then enter the room to the left; it's a
Save Room. Save, then leave it and continue right and up to the top of the
room. Jump and roll through the narrow passage, then enter the room to the
left. Collect the Energy Tank (5), then leave that room. Backtrack a few
rooms, back to the one with the water and 2 paths you can take (upper, like
you did, or dropping down a pit and continuing). This time, obviously, go
down that pit and continue left into a new room.

Here, defeat the enemy, then shoot the ceiling overhead. Roll up there and
bomb the wall to the left to open up grating on the ceiling for you to hang
from. Go across the electrical waters in that manner, and blast the enemy at
the other side. Continue left and up into the next room. Here, go up the wall
on the left until you reach the top. You'll enter a hidden passage in the
wall, so roll into that room. Defeat some spiky enemies and collect the
Missile Tank (85). Get back out of here, then drop straight down and out of
this room as well. This time, bomb the wall to your left and it'll open up.
Continue left and enter a new area.

In here, shoot the right end of the ceiling above you to open a hole in it.
Jump up and climb up the wall, then, go across to the left by hanging from
the ceiling. Shoot up through the ceiling and jump up, then squat down and
shoot the blue block to the right. Roll under the wall and continue up
another wall. At the top, kill the enemies and grab onto the ceiling,
avoiding walking on the floor because you'll fall through. At the other end,
drop down and bomb the floor. Drop down, then climb up another wall and shoot
upward. Jump up to the higher ledge and go right into the Save Room. Save,
then shoot a Missile into the crack on the wall. Roll through to reach a new
room.

Here, bomb the passage ahead to clear it all. Continue to the door, and enter
that next room. You will be in the supposed boss room, as noted on your map.
However, a fight will not take place here, so walk among the skeletal snake
and continue to the next room. Head up by jumping on ledges and climbing
walls, then drop down the other side of the wall once at the top. Destroy the
gate creature (you should know how by now, so I'm not going to bother
explaining). Enter the next room, then climb up the wall and head to the
right end of the platform. Several sections will break away, leaving smaller
ledges, and Serris will appear. Stand on the second to last platform to avoid
getting hurt. Read the Bosses section for help winning here.

Upon winning, take the large parasite to get the Speed Booster ability. Exit
the room through the door in the upper-right corner. Go right to the other
end of the room, then bomb the left wall and enter the lower area. Defeat all
the creatures in there, then go as far left as you can. Run all the way to
the right to gain speed, and the Speed Booster will kick in just when you go
over the thin platform at the other end. Drop down into that room. As you
drop, grab onto a ledge to the left. Jump and bomb the left wall, then roll
through that tunnel. At the other end, bomb the corner to find a Missile Tank
(90). Jump and hang onto the wall, then shoot the left wall with 2 Missiles
to break a new passageway.

Roll through the new passage, then drop down and head right. At the end of
the path, jump and shoot to the right, then head right up there to reach the
next Missile Tank (95). Go back left and drop down through disintegrating
floors, then head right into a Save Room. After you're done, go out and head
all the way left and down into another chamber. Back in this room, head left
through the next few rooms (consult your map). When you get to the vertical
room, go left through a blue door you passed earlier. In the Pump Control
Unit room, run all the way left so your Speed Boost gets you through the wall
at the end. Activate the pump to drain the electrical waters in the sector.

Now, go left and climb down the wall a little. Then, jump to the right and
roll under the platform above to get a Missile Tank (100). Roll to the right
and down, then head all the way right. Jump up the platforms and shoot
through the ceiling, then head right out of here. Continue through to the
following room. This time, go right and roll under the platform, and drop
into the now-drained area. Defeat all the enemies down there, then run from
the left end all the way right. You'll make it through the right wall and
into a secret room. Continue right, then jump up and head left through the
water to reach a Missile Tank (105). Get back out and head all the way left.
Then, take off running all the way right through the next couple rooms.
You'll make it through a couple Speed Booster barriers and up some ramps. At
the end, shoot through the door and enter the next room. Here, defeat the
enemy, but do NOT grab the X parasite yet. It'll turn into a gold creature;
shoot it with 2 Missiles to open the doors. Continue onward to the Recharge,
Save, and Navigation Rooms. Stop at each to recharge/save, and to be directed
towards Sector 3 (PYR) for Missile upgrade data. Head out of here and up the
elevator to leave Sector 4.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Up here again, head all the way left through several doors until you come to
the elevator leading to Sector 3. As stated before, go down and enter that
area.

==============
Sector 3 (PYR)
==============

Here, enter the Navigation Room and you'll be directed to where the Missile
upgrade is. Continue through the next 2 rooms, then enter the first main
room. There, go down, right, down, and to the left. When you come to a door,
shoot downward through the floor, and drop to the bottom area. You will
notice several walls on the floor; walk to the right shooting out each one
blocking your path. Go all the way right, then run to the left into the next
room. You'll go right through the next wall in the following room. Continue
running until you get towards the end, then jump diagonally up at the low
wall. You'll break through and reach a hidden ledge. Roll up and bomb to the
left, and head into a Security Room. Activate the Level 2 hatches, then go
right through the green door.

Head all the way to the right wall, but just before you reach it, bomb the
floor. Drop into a hidden room and kill 2 enemies with Missiles. Shoot the
right side of the ceiling to find a Missile Tank (110). Shoot back out, then
go left, and run back across this room. Then, jump through the wall and
continue out of here. Continue running to the right, shooting out the walls
in your path. In the following area, jump onto the ledge where the first wall
enemy is. Destroy it with several Missile shots, then go right and drop
through the disintegrating floor. Shoot the ceiling switch to open the gate,
then go left, and then run all the way right into the next room. Continue
running to the end, and you'll wear down a bunch of Speed Boost tiles at the
end. Kill the enemies, then fall through the floor and continue onward. In
the next area, climb up to the top area while shooting out the wall enemies
on the way. Enter the room to the left (that's the only one you can for now).

Here, go left to the wall, then roll up and jump/bomb several parts of it.
Jump into the upper tunnel and go left to get a Missile Tank (115). After
collecting it, bomb the ceiling directly above, then jump into that tunnel.
Go right and bomb again, then jump, go right, and repeat. Jump out of the
tunnel and go right into the next room. Continue right through here while
beating some enemies with Missiles, then in the following room, simply go
straight into the Data Room ahead. In there, you'll receive the Super Missile
data, which gives you more powerful Missiles to use.

Leave the Data Room and head back left through a couple rooms. In the long
hall room, you'll drop into a newly-formed pit. Go through the right door
into the next room. Save your game here, then continue to the Recharge Room.
In the third room, kill the 2 enemies with a single Missile apiece, then
destroy the purple barrier with 3 of your new Missiles to break it now.
Collect the Missile Tank (120), then go back a couple rooms, and jump out of
the pit. Head left and a quake will ensue; since you cannot continue that
way, head right into the next room. Go right and meet the Security Robot.
View the Bosses section for some tips on winning.

After the fight, the bot will escape and leave debris for you to use as
ledges. Jump from the pile upward, then continue left into a new room. There,
head all the way left, defeating enemies with your Missiles. After the
enemies are gone, go back right and shoot out the parts of the ceiling that
can be broken. Go all the way left, then run back right and the Speed Booster
will kick in. When you're at the right end of the hole in the ceiling, press
Down to charge the power, then press A and hold Up/Left on the Control Pad to
dash in that direction. You'll break through a special wall and reach a
Missile Tank (125). Go back down and run all the way left into the next room
so you're charged with the booster. As soon as you enter the next room on the
small ledge, press Down to hold the charge. Press A and hold Left to go
through that wall. Go left to the wall and bomb through the floor to grab an
Energy Tank (6). Go down and kill the enemies, then go left and roll into a
ball. Jump up and bomb the blocks, then go left into that room.

Here again, roll left and drop through the floor, then continue to the left.
Go up a couple ledges, then to the left into the Recharge Room. Power up
again, then save in the Save Room before proceeding into the Navigation Room
once again. You'll be sent to Sector 6 (NOC) so you can retrieve a new type
of armor for Samus. Continue to the next room and head up the elevator to
exit here.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Back here, it's time to head down to Sector 6 (NOC). So, head right through
several doors until you come to the green door. Open it to enter the elevator
leading down to Sector 6 (NOC). Ride it down there.

==============
Sector 6 (NOC)
==============

As usual when you enter a new sector, head through the Navigation, Save, and
Recharge Rooms. From the Nav Room though, you'll be directed to a Data Room
at the bottom of the sector, along a treacherous path. After that, head to
the first main room. Head right through there, defeating many bats. In the
following room, drop down to the bottom area. Jump as a ball and bomb the
left wall, then crawl into a hidden room. Collect the Missile Tank (130). Go
back out of there, and continue to the right. Blast the barrier with 3
Missiles, then curl up and bomb the right wall. Enter the hidden room. Jump
while in ball form and bomb the upper part of the wall. You'll reveal a
hidden tunnel. Go through it and bomb the end to drop into the area with the
Energy Tank (7). Grab it and go back out the same way you came in. Now,
continue up and right into the next room.

In the next room, you will encounter a blue X parasite. By all means avoid it
for now, as it will freeze you upon contact. Stun it with your regular
blaster to get by, then quickly move into the following room. Here, stun the
blue X up ahead and start heading downward. Stun any blue X parasites you
come across if you can. At the very bottom, go right into another room.
There, make your way to the bottom-left corner of the room. There are plenty
of hidden blue X's here, so be very careful. When you make it down there,
enter the room to the left. Aim upward as you run to stop the blue X's, and
run through the left wall with the Speed Boost. Drop down the wall to the
bottom, then head right into the next room. Get through that one, and
continue to a Save Room.

After you save, go back 2 rooms to the large room. Head left this time into
another room. Grab your next Energy Tank (8) here. Bomb the floor right under
where the tank was sitting to uncover a hidden tunnel. Roll through it and
drop down at the end, then head into the right room. There, go all the way
right and bomb the floor in the corner. Drop into the hole and roll to the
left to witness SA-X entering. Do NOT come out at this time, or you'll
basically lose! Follow while under the ground to see where she's heading.
When SA-X drops a Power Bomb, move all the way to the left to avoid damage.
Once she's gone, get out and continue to the right, then down into another
room. Defeat the bats and slugs, then shoot through the wall and continue
onward as a ball. Go left into the next room.

Here, go directly left into another Save Room. Make sure you save here,
you'll be happy you did in case you lose up ahead. When you're done, go back
to the previous room. Make your way to the bottom area by shooting through
the floor blocks. Be careful of the blue X still. When you get to the bottom,
bomb the left blocks. Endure the icy touch the blue X hits you with, then
bomb the wall some more. Roll through a hidden passage to another room.
Defeat the enemies in there, then jump onto a high ledge and bomb the left
side to find a Missile Tank (135). Get back out and head right into the next
room. Defeat the bats, then continue to the creature guarding the door. Kill
it with a Missile, and continue onward. When you enter the Data Room, you'll
see a spiky orb destroying it and moving to the adjacent room. Follow it
there and you'll meet the Giant Orb boss (as I call it). Read the Bosses
section for help here.

Upon winning, grab the large parasite to receive the Varia Suit. You will now
be invulnerable to hot or cold temperatures, and can absorb those blue X's
from before, which will REALLY help! So, head right and out of this room.
Continue right until you reach a Save Room. Save, then exit to the room
before it. Jump upward and make your way to the top ledge of that room by
climbing the wall. Up there, go left into the next room. There, jump the pit
and go left to get a Missile Tank (140). Drop down through the floor and hold
Left to stay against the wall. You'll grab onto a small ledge on the way;
roll into the room and blast the ceiling to reveal another Missile Tank
(145). Jump up to get it, then head back down and right into the next room.

There, go up the wall once again, but this time enter the room to the right.
Go up another wall and enter the room at the top. Next, go left and kill the
spiked enemy, then roll through the passages out of here. Continue to the
left and upward, killing enemies as you pass. Shoot through the thin wall
you'll find, and climb the wall to the top. Shoot the blocks to the left,
then jump onto that ledge and continue to the next room. Head up through this
room, and enter a doorway on the right side. Shoot your way through the
blocks and walls, absorbing blue X's on the way, into another room. Approach
the Missile Tank and it'll turn into an enemy. Kill it with a Missile, then
bomb the wall and enter the next area to find the real one (150). Go back out
to the vertical room and continue upward, then into the room at the top and
left.

From here, head west through the next several rooms until you reach the 3
important rooms. Recharge, then Save, then visit the Navigation Room, where
you'll be told to head up by Sector 5 (ARC) for another data download. Go up
the elevator in the next room and exit this sector.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Up here, head all the way left into the very last room. That should be the
one with a "5" above the elevator. Go down it into Sector 5 (ARC).

==============
Sector 5 (ARC)
==============

Starting off here, enter the Navigation Room and you'll be pointed in the
direction of the Ice Missiles found in a Data Room. However, you have to find
a Security Room and activate Level 3 hatches first. Save, then continue
through the Recharge Room into the first room of the sector. Head downward
and hang from the left wall. Shoot 2 Missiles at the wall to the right to
open a hole in it. Go there and jump/roll through to reach the next room. In
this large room, make your way around to the bottom-right corner of the room.
Go right into the following room from there. In that next room, go right and
down, then to the left wall. Bomb the floor and head left into another room.
Kill the enemies and go all the way left to the gate, then run back right to
the previous room. Continue running until you break through the Speed Boost
blocks in the floor.

Next, continue downward through this room. When you reach the bottom, go
right and bomb the block under the wall. Continue into the next room. Bomb
the wall and kill the flying enemies in here, then head into the following
area. Drop down to the lower area, but don't go through the left door. Shoot
through the floor and head into the left room down there. It's a Save Room,
so save your game and continue onward. Head left through several rooms until
you reach the Security Room. Activate the Level 3 (yellow) hatches and head
through the yellow door into the next room in front of you. Head up through
this vertical room by jumping from ledges/walls, and shooting open ceilings
as needed. Once at the top, enter the Save Room to the east.

Save your game, then continue to the next room. Shoot the switch to open the
gate, then head right into the large room again. Go right and up, then right
through the door you passed before. In there, shoot the switch to open the
gate, then head through the yellow door into the Data Room. Download the Ice
Missile data here, and head into the next room. Shoot through the floor and
drop downward. Get to the right wall and climb to the top of it. At the top,
hit the enemy in the air with an Ice Missile to freeze it. Use it as a
stepping stone to reach the left ledge, and enter that room. Kill the fake
power-up, then bomb through the bottom-left wall to find the real Energy Tank
(9). Exit the room and continue downward again, then go through the yellow
door. In the next room, let the parasite enlarge the organic tower, then
freeze it. Go atop it and shoot the ceiling, then jump through and enter the
left room.

There, go left and kill the enemy, but do NOT collect the X parasite it has.
Let it form another enemy. Kill it, then the parasite will make the organic
tower grow. Freeze it, then get to the edge of the right ledge and run all
the way left into the next room. Run through the special wall in there, then
head upward and right into another room. Here, head upward and to the right
until you can't go further. Shoot through the right wall, then go up through
that passage. Shoot the left wall at the top and roll through that passage.
When you drop into the large room again, continue to the top left area, and
onward to the next room. Get through this next large room until you reach the
yellow door in the bottom corner. Go into that room. Defeat the enemies here
with regular shots and Missiles. Jump and bomb the upper-right corner of the
ceiling to reveal a Missile Tank. Grab it (155) and go left to the next room.
Continue upward and left into the Recharge Room.

Recharge and save, then visit the Navigation Room. You'll be alerted of a
potential meltdown in Sector 3 (PYR), and how you must stop it before it's
too late. When you're done talking, a 6-minute timer starts ticking, so go up
the elevator out of here.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Atop the elevator, head into the next room. That's the Sector 3 elevator, so
head down it into the PYR zone.

==============
Sector 3 (PYR)
==============

Here, go right through the first 3 rooms, which you have no time to stand
around in for now. In the first large room, get to the very bottom-right
corner of the area, then enter the next room. Jump to the ledge with the
first enemy; destroy it and fall through the disintegrating floors. Hit the
switch, then go left and run right into the next room. Continue running to
break the Speed Booster blocks up ahead. Drop through the floor there and
head into the following room. In the tall vertical room, drop all the way to
the bottom of it, and go into the room to the left. Climb via the walls
across the lava pits, defeating the enemies with your blaster on the way. Go
through the door at the other end to reach the next room.

In the following room, go left and freeze/kill the wall enemies, then jump to
the upper right ledge from the wall and enter the next room. Simply continue
to the following vertical room. In there, freeze but don't kill the wall
enemies. Use them as stepping stones to reach the top of the room. In the
next room, go left across some ledges. Kill the wall enemy and get up to the
upper ledge. Go right and up, killing another wall enemy above. Go left and
jump over the thin section of the path to avoid falling through. Shoot the
enemy in front of you with Missiles, then go down and left to the next room.
Jump over the central platform and continue to the following area.

Here, jump up the ledges and head left along them. Defeat the hopping enemies
with some Missiles. Kill the eyeball creature guarding the door, and continue
into the Main Boiler Control Room. Go down and left to the control panel,
where you'll find what appears to be a scientist working. Shoot at him until
he turns into a spiked orb and attacks you. Kill it by shooting Missiles into
its eye when it's open. 4 hits will kill it. Grab the Wide Beam ability from
the large parasite upon winning. Check out the controls and you'll fix the
cooling system, averting the emergency. Go back out of this room, then
backtrack through many rooms. Continue until you come to a tall room with 2
green doors across from each other. This time, enter the right door.

In that room, defeat the spiky enemies rotating around the middle structure.
Then, get to the top of it and drop a bomb to reveal a Missile Tank. Take it
(160) and exit this room. Consult the map and make your way to the Recharge,
Save, and Navigation Rooms again. Once there, recharge and save, and hear
your next objective. You'll be heading up to the Habitation Deck, located on
the Main Deck area, to find survivors. Go up the elevator to reach the Main
Deck.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Up here, go right through 2 rooms and you'll be in the center room. Go up the
main elevator to reach the actual deck area above. At the top, go right into
the long hallway room. Go to the end, then run all the way left through the
elevator room into a hidden room. You'll go through the special wall and
collect a Missile Tank (165) as well. Exit there, then follow the map to the
Navigation Room. Go through into the tall room following it. Jump up to the
top of that room, then enter the green door to the left. Head up the elevator
to the Habitation Deck above.

There, go into the right room and save your game, first off. Then, go back
out of there, and enter the green door to reach a new room. There, freeze the
wall enemies and jump up them to the top ledge. Enter the door at the very
top. Go left to the gate, then shoot through the floor and drop down a level.
Shoot through the left wall and go right. Open the gate and run to the door,
then run back left. The boost will kick in and break a couple blocks in the
floor all the way to the left. Drop through and go right. Open a gate and
collect a Missile Tank (170), then go back left. Jump through the left wall
and enter a hidden room. Go up through that dark room by freezing enemies and
jumping atop them. At the top, enter the next room.

Back in the habitation room, go right to the control panel. Activate it to
disengage the lock and free the animals trapped in the room. After they all
escape, go right out of this room. Follow the map down the elevator and
through some rooms, and head to the Navigation Room again. You'll be told of
Power Bomb data to be downloaded in Sector 5 (ARC). It's in the same room as
the Ice Missiles you received not too long ago. So, continue out of this room
and head down the elevator when you come to it. Go left to the last room and
descend to Sector 5.

==============
Sector 5 (ARC)
==============

Here again, go through the first 3 rooms to the regular room with enemies.
Drop down to the bottom area and enter the left room this time. Defeat the
enemies here, then stand under the central area and jump up through an
invisible hole. Collect the Missile Tank (175) and get out of the room.
Continue through the next several rooms and head to the Data Room on the map.
Once there, get the Power Bomb data, and you will start out with 10 of those
in your arsenal. Now, go right into the next room. Drop down to the very
bottom and enter the room to the left. Drop a Power Bomb and head down into a
hidden room. Go through the left door to yet another room. Go left and sit
atop the wall, and you'll witness SA-X there. Stay still and don't shoot,
then when SA-X leaves, drop a Power Bomb and stay as a ball. When it
explodes, jump into the upper tunnel and go left to the next room.

In the next room, defeat the enemies and bomb the left wall to reach a Power
Bomb Tank (12). Use a Power Bomb to open the above passage, then climb up the
wall and jump through the ceiling opening. Once up there, drop another one to
open a large hole in the ceiling. Jump up and freeze the enemies with Ice
Missiles. Jump from enemy to enemy when frozen to reach the top, and enter
the right room. Grab another Power Bomb Tank there (14). Go back out, then
down and left through a couple rooms, then up and right to a Save Room. Save,
then continue through 2 rooms until you reach a large barrier. Destroy it
with a Power Bomb, then continue to the large room ahead. There, head right
and up, then jump/bomb the left wall. Roll through and destroy the barrier
with a Power Bomb. Enter the next room. Go onto the left ledge and roll into
the small room with the moving enemy. Freeze it when it's in the middle area,
then jump/roll over it and continue to the second area. When that enemy is in
the center area, repeat. Continue left and jump to get the Power Bomb Tank
(16).

Next, exit the room and continue up and left until you reach the Recharge,
Save, and Navigation Rooms. Recharge and save, as you'll need it, then find
out your objective in the Nav Room. You'll be told to revisit your ship at
this point, so do so. Go up the elevator to leave this sector.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Up here, go right to the main elevator, and start going up it. Halfway up,
it'll break down, leaving you seemingly stranded. Shoot/bomb through the
right wall to reach a hidden area. Go through there, defeating the enemies
with a single Power Bomb, then jump/roll into another room. You'll find an
icy statue of Ridley in here, which crumbles when you go near it. Drop
through the floor under it and enter a new room. As soon as you enter, drop a
Power Bomb. It'll open a hidden tunnel to the left. Go through it into a
hidden room. Place a regular bomb at the very end to open a passage above
you. Shoot upward with your blaster, then jump to get a Power Bomb Tank (18).

Next, go back out of this passage to the room you fell into. Go right through
here, and drop Power Bombs to clear the room of all enemies. Go as far left
on the ledge as you can, then run all the way right until the next room. Use
the Speed Booster and break through several solid blocks up ahead. After you
break through, drop a Power Bomb to reveal a passage in the ceiling. Jump up
and grab a Missile Tank (180). Go right and jump up to a room above, then go
right through the door.

Head down through the docking bays room to the bottom, then go right.
Continue to reach your ship, then stand under it to enter and save. Inside,
you'll learn of the reactor that went offline in the Main Silo. You are asked
to reach a special point, where an auxillary power system can be enabled.
You'll also find that the creatures you rescued not so long ago are now
occupying your ship.

Now, go back left a couple rooms. When you reach a wall, Power Bomb it and
continue into the Reactor Silo room. Roll to the left and drop down a bit,
then shoot through the floor to the right and continue to the bottom. Go
right into the next room. There, go right and shoot through the vines
blocking your path. Drop down to the very bottom of this large room, and head
right. Shoot clear your path and enter the Save Room if you want, although it
isn't functional. Make your way upward by jumping up the ledges and shooting
the vines in your way. Enter the top door to the right. Head right and defeat
a couple laser-shooting enemies with your Missiles. Collect the Energy Tank
(10) you encounter along the way, and continue to the following room.

There, go right and shoot the floor to reach the lower area. Go left down
there and defeat the enemy with Missiles. Shoot through the floor a second
time and continue downward. Go right, kill the enemy, and shoot through the
floor again. Head left and defeat this enemy as well. Shoot the left wall and
roll through, then bomb the second wall in there and roll left to find a
Missile Tank (185). Go back out of that passage and shoot the floor. Go down
and right, and fall through some disintegrating blocks. Bomb the left wall
and roll in that direction. Go left and climb up the wall. At the top point,
shoot the right wall to open a hole. Jump and roll through, then bomb an
opening above. Destroy the gate creature to the left, then enter the boss
room. Go down and you'll meet the Black Widow. Read the Bosses section for
help winning here.

Upon winning, grab the Space Jump from the parasite left behind. Demonstrate
using the ability by jumping up into a hole in the ceiling of the room. Up
there, enter the target room to the left. In the Auxillary Power Station,
check out the control panel to restore some power (Recharge/Save Rooms, no
elevators/doors) in the space station. Go left into the Navigation Room.
You'll find that the way to fix the power is to clear the vegetation on the
Reactor Core, which is located in Sector 2 (TRO). Head left into the next
room. Shoot the switch to open the gate, then continue to the next room. In
this enemy-infested room now, drop to the bottom area and enter the Save
Room. Save, then exit and jump to the upper-left area of the room. You'll
notice a hole in the wall that's blocked by many vines. Jump and shoot them
all away, then climb into that hole and head to the next area. Power Bomb the
mess in your way, and continue into Sector 2 (TRO).

==============
Sector 2 (TRO)
==============

Now that you're in Sector 2, the danger isn't gone yet. In fact, this next
part is one of the toughest parts of the game I've experienced. When you're
ready, go left and drop through the floor to come face to face with SA-X.
Quickly shoot it with a Missile to freeze it, then run into the next room.
There, drop a Power Bomb and freeze SA-X with a Missile if she enters the
room. When the bomb clears the way, freeze it again and run to the next room.
In there, run left and aim diagonally up and to the left as you run, shooting
the switches on the ceiling. Jump and run left into the following room. In
there, quickly get onto the high ledge, bomb the ceiling to reveal a passage,
and jump/roll into it. SA-X will come in, realize you're gone, then walk
away.

Now that the coast is clear, go back into the previous room. Jump and shoot
Missiles straight down at the floor to open a passageway. Drop down and
continue left to another room. There, jump up into the vine-infested room.
Shoot your way down and left through it. At the bottom, bomb through the
floor to reach a door you couldn't otherwise reach. Enter that room. Run
straight through here to the following room. Jump up and over the wall, then
go left and jump up to a new portion of the room you haven't been into.
You'll notice a thin wall to the right; shoot it to open a hole in it. Jump
in and shoot through the next wall, too. Defeat the small red creatures and
collect the Power Bomb Tank (20). Go back left and jump to the top area, then
go right into the next room. Save your game there, and then continue onward.

In the next room, go right into the room after it. In that room, shoot
through the ceiling above you, then jump up to the top. Shoot through the
vines to the right and continue upward to the top. Defeat the gate creature
and head into the boss room. Drop down and you'll see the plant-infested
room, and the boss which I'll call the Vine Wall. Visit the Bosses section
for help beating this boss. After winning, grab the Plasma Beam ability from
the parasite and continue to the next room. Shoot the enemies through the
walls with your new beam, then drop down and go left into the next room. Run
all the way left through a couple rooms to reach a Save Room.

After you save, go left through the next 3 rooms and you'll come to a really
tall vertical room. Make your way upward until you reach a small passage
leading to a door on the left. Climb onto that ledge and roll through, and
enter that room. In this room, there are many ledges, all of which are
disintegrating floors, so be careful. Hang from the ceiling and aim
diagonally downward, at the bottom of the wall to the left. When the 2
enemies are hovering just under it, shoot them with Missiles to freeze them
there. Jump onto them and roll under the wall as a ball, then jump onto the
ledge and grab a Power Bomb Tank (22). Drop through the floor below it. When
you land, bomb the floor to reach a second Power Bomb Tank (24). Continue
down to the bottom and bomb your way out, then climb up the wall and exit
here.

Now, drop all the way to the very bottom of this chamber. Enter the room to
the left there. Make your way through there and into the following room.
Continue upward through the next few rooms, and to the top of that long
vertical room. At the top, shoot the left wall to open a hidden passage.
Enter that room, and high-jump to the ledge with a Missile Tank (190). Now,
exit this room, and go back down through the rooms you just came up from.
Make your way all the way to the Save Room you reached right after the Vine
Wall boss battle.

Once you get there, go right into the vertical room. Make your way up to the
top of this room, and enter the room to the right (the hatches are now
functional). There, defeat the spiky enemies and get to the right wall. Jump
onto a hidden ledge and roll into a hidden room. Go right and jump into the
narrow section, and shoot the left side to reveal an Energy Tank. Take it
(11) and go back to the vertical room. Enter the room to the left this time.
Shoot through the hopping enemies, and roll into the following room. Power
Bomb your way out in the next room, then head left to the door. Shoot through
the ceiling and continue upward to the top. Enter the Recharge Room;
recharge, then save in the next room. Visit the Navigation Room to hear of an
explosion in Sector 5 (ARC). Continue to the elevator and go up from here.

=========

Atop the elevator, head all the way left to the last room. Go down the
elevator labeled with a 5 above it to reach Sector 5.

==============
Sector 5 (ARC)
==============

Here, enter the Navigation Room to hear that the Nightmare has been causing
the damage to the Data Room here. In the next room, save your game, then
continue to the first regular room. Head down and right until you reach the
giant room (consult your map). Once there, use your Space Jump to reach the
very top-left corner of the room. Enter the left room from there. Defeat the
blue enemy and grab the Missile Tank (195). Go back to the previous room.
Open the door again for now, but don't reenter just yet. Go right and defeat
the 2 blue enemies on the path. Go to the right wall, then run back to the
left. As soon as you start flashing, press Down to hold the charge. Then,
press A and hold Left to charge through the open doorway. In the next room,
you'll charge through the special wall to another hidden room. Collect the
Power Bomb Tank (26), then go back out of here.

Now, get to the bottom-right corner of the large room, then enter the
following room. Continue to the right and through an open doorway to a new
area. In that small room, drop a Power Bomb to make a small opening in the
ceiling. Jump through to a hidden room. Hit the switch and open the gate,
then blast the enemy with some Missiles. Go left and shoot up the ceiling,
then jump through and kill another enemy. Shoot through the right side of
that ceiling, and hit the switch to open a gate on the other side of the
wall. Drop a Power Bomb to open some passages on the other side. Drop down
and go left, then jump up and shoot the switch to open the second gate. Roll
up into a ball and go down to get a Power Bomb tank (28). Drop through the
floor and drop down to the bottom area, then go right into the next room.

In this destroyed room, continue right into the next room. Head through this
room while defeating the enemies on the ground with regular shots, and the
larger ones on the ceiling with Missiles. Go into the next room. There, shoot
through the floor and drop to the bottom of the watery room. Enter the next
room to the right once you reach the bottom. In the next room, defeat the
water enemies with Missiles here. At the other end of the room, jump to the
upper ledge and go left to another room. Defeat the enemy in front of you,
then jump up the ledges out of the water, and into the next room.

Next, go right and shoot the enemies on the ceiling with Missiles. Open a
hole in the ceiling with your shots, then jump up and go into the room to the
left. Drop a Power Bomb to wipe out all the enemies, as well as revealing an
upgrade. Collect a Power Bomb Tank (30), then leave the room. Go right and
kill more enemies, then go upward to the top area. Drop a Power Bomb there to
reveal a tunnel in the left wall. Jump up and roll through. Near the end,
jump up and roll left to get a Power Bomb Tank (32). Continue to a Recharge
Room. Recharge, then go back to that room. Jump and bomb the wall to open the
tunnel again. Go right and into the Save Room.

When you're done saving, exit the room and head downward. Enter the next room
to the right. Defeat the enemies hanging around here, and head right and up
to the gate creature blocking the door. Destroy it when you have the chance,
then enter the next room. You'll see an Energy Tank to the right. Go right
and jump/bomb the wall to reveal a tunnel. Go through it and drop down to get
the tank (12). Go left and drop into the boss room to meet the Nightmare.
Read the Bosses section for help defeating this boss.

After you win, collect the Gravity Suit. Open the door, go to the right side,
then run left into that room. Run straight through this room, since the water
will no longer affect your speed. You should pick up enough speed to run
through the wall at the end. Continue left through the next couple rooms. In
the small room, drop down and go right into the next room. There, go right
and down, then to the left, defeating the enemies you meet. Continue left to
the next room. In there, defeat the water enemies with some Missiles, and
jump upward. You'll notice a small ledge to the right. Jump to there and
shoot a Missile at the wall directly across from it to open a tunnel. Climb
into it and roll to the next room. Drop a Power Bomb to reveal the crumbling
sections of the platforms, then go left and jump over them. Jump up to the
top ledge and go right to get the next Energy Tank (13). Go back out of this
room.

From here, go down and right to the next room. Go right and kill all the
enemies here, and open the right door. Go back left and run to the right.
Your Speed Booster will kick in when you enter the next room. There will be 2
thin walls you can run through; when you're between them, press Down, then A
and hold Up to shoot through the ceiling. Collect the Power Bomb Tank (34)
and go down, then continue right into Sector 4.

==============
Sector 4 (AQA)
==============

In here, continue through the tunnel into the following room. Still with the
charge from the boost, go up the ramps, then jump through the right wall to
break through. Continue into the next room. In there, continue right into a
Save Room. Save, then exit and head downward through this room. Drop down to
a ledge below, then go to the left wall. Roll up into a ball and jump into a
hidden passage to the previous room. Grab the Power Bomb Tank (36) and then
go back to the tall watery room you were in. Directly across from that
passage is a door; enter it. Head all the way right through here while
defeating the creatures with 2 Missiles apiece. At the end, collect a Missile
Tank (200). Go back out of this room. In the tall room again, continue to the
very bottom. Once there, enter the room to the left.

Here, go left and defeat the fish you see. Go into the glass tunnel, and drop
a Power Bomb inside to destroy it, as well as open part of the tube above.
Shoot Missiles up through that hole to open a passage. Jump up and continue
upward through here. Defeat the seahorse enemies by hitting their bellies
with Missiles. Jump to the ledge on the right wall, and bomb through to a
Power Bomb Tank (38) at the other side. Go back out and head to the left
wall. Shoot a hole in the upper area, and head through to the next room.

In the following room, go left and defeat more seahorses. At the left side,
bomb the floor and drop down to the area below. Go to the bottom, and you'll
notice 4 blocks in the floor. Bomb the second one from the right and drop
through. Go down and defeat the fish to the right, then go through the wall
and head right. Bomb the floor and go down, then bomb the left wall and head
in that direction. Defeat the fish enemy with Missiles, then go into the area
where the fish was and bomb the floor. Drop into the Security Room below.
Activate the Level 4 (red) hatches, and go right into the next room.

There, jump upward to a ledge on the right side. Roll up and jump into a
tunnel to the right, and enter that room. There, go down to the bottom area,
and drop a Power Bomb. Get to the top of the room quickly, and you'll see
some X parasites enter a small alcove and form 2 golden enemies. Break
through the left wall of that containment with Missiles, then enter and
defeat the gold enemies with Missiles. That'll activate the bottom-right
door. Go down and right into that next room. Drop a Power Bomb to clear all
the blocks from the maze. Defeat the spiky enemies and jump to the upper
ledge, then roll through to collect an Energy Tank (14). Now, get back out of
here, and out of the previous room too. In the tall room, jump to the top and
go through the red door to the right to reach another room.

In there, continue all the way right to the bottom of another vertical room.
Head through the right door this time and enter the next room. There, defeat
the swimming enemy you see up ahead. Enter the tube and Power Bomb it to
reveal an opening in the bottom. Drop down and defeat the swimming enemy,
then collect the Missile Tank (205). Defeat the fish above with some
Missiles, then jump back up and continue right to the following area.
Continue through the next several rooms until you reach the large one with
those enemies that shoot orange projectiles at you. Head to the right side of
the room, defeating them with Missiles. Enter the Save Room to the right.

After you save, go back to the large room and head upward and to the left. In
the upper-left corner, if you look to the right, you'll see one of those
puffer balls that puffs up when you come close. Freeze it from a distance
when it's small with a Missile, then roll over it and continue into the next
room. Continue through this small room to the following room. Go right and
defeat the enemies if you want, then shoot the left door and run back to the
previous room. Shoot the door in front of you and continue running to the
large maze room. If you had enough speed, you'll crush some Speed Booster
blocks in the floor. Drop through and enter a new room to the right. On your
way through here, defeat all the enemies you come across. At the far right
end, you'll notice a hole in the ceiling. Go all the way left, then run back
to the right to get a boost. When you're under the hole, press Down, then A
and Up to shoot up that passage. You'll break through some blocks at the top;
go right to get a Power Bomb Tank (40). Go left and drop down a little while
hugging the left wall. Climb onto a hidden ledge and roll to the left to find
a Missile Tank (210).

Now, go back right and drop down to the room below. Then, go right into the
next room. You'll notice many of those puffer enemies forming. Freeze one,
jump on it, freeze the next, jump up, etc. Do that until you reach the last
one. Stand on it and shoot upward with Missiles to break a hole in the
ceiling. Jump up to that ledge and roll left to the next room. Drop a Power
Bomb to clear the walls, then enter the following room. There, drop down and
go right into the Data Room. Receive the Diffusion Missile data, then exit
here. Stand on a ledge and aim at one of the unpuffed creatures in the
passages to the left. Charge up the Diffusion Missile, and shoot one to
freeze them all. Roll through a clear passage and head down and left into the
next room. Shoot the barrier with 2 Missiles to clear it. Then, head to the
left side of the room, where you'll see a broken electrical wire. Shoot the
wall below it and roll to get a Missile Tank (215). Then, go back to the
previous room.

Back in that room, climb up the wall and go through the other door to reach
the room above. Jump up the ledges, then go left and down to another room.
Continue through the small room to a larger one. There, roll to the left and
bomb the corner to open a hole. Roll through and drop into the area below.
Drop a Power Bomb and a passage to the left will open. Roll through to get a
Power Bomb Tank (42). Go back right and up, then right out of this room. Now,
make your way to the Recharge/Save/Navigation Rooms in the upper-right area
of the sector. Recharge and save, and hear of your next mission in Sector 6
(NOC). After that, go up the elevator to leave this place.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Back up here, enter the room to the right and go down that elevator to reach
the next area, Sector 6 (NOC).

==============
Sector 6 (NOC)
==============

When you enter here, visit the Navigation Room. You'll hear that the Security
Robot from earlier is now stronger, and you must find/destroy it. Also, you
are warned that SA-X is actively hunting you down, so be careful. Continue to
the next room, and save there. Go through the Recharge Room, then into the
first large room. Follow the map and go right through the next few rooms,
until you're in the tall vertical room. Drop down a bit and enter the first
room on the left. Head left in there and Power Bomb the wall to open it up.
Continue left to the next room. There, drop down and go right to another
room. In that one, drop through the disintegrating floors. Once at the
bottom, enter the room to the left.

There, go down and left through here while defeating the poison gas enemies
along the way. At the bottom, go left into the following room. Defeat some
bats and drop down to the floor below. Enter the room to the right and save
your game, then go back out. Shoot through the floor and drop a bit, then go
into the left room. In this hallway, go all the way left to the gate, which
you cannot reach the switch for just yet. So, backtrack through a few rooms,
up to the one where you fell through a series of disintegrating blocks. Drop
a Power Bomb to uncover grating on the ceiling for you to hang on. You'll
also notice the Security Robot running in. View the Bosses section for help
beating it this time around.

After you win, grab the Wave Beam from the large parasite left behind. After
that, enter the room to the right. Use your new beam to shoot the switch on
the other side of the gate, opening it. Grab the Missile Tank (220), then go
back out of here. Now, make your way back to that room with the gate you
couldn't get through (you were there before you backtracked to fight the
Security Robot again). Once there, open the gate and continue to the next
area, which is a Restricted Zone.

===============
Restricted Zone
===============

Here, roll to the left and fall through the ceiling. Go through the red door
into the next room. Save your game in this room, then continue onward. Head
left through the next few rooms, until you come to a room called the
Restricted Laboratory. Continue into the last room to the left. In there, go
up and right into the following room. It's a dead end, but alarms start to
sound, so head back left and down and right to the room below. You'll notice
SA-X attacking the laboratory and the Metroids floating around. You have 1
minute to escape before the laboratory detaches from the station. Jump upward
to the top ledge and enter the room to the right. You'll view a scene of the
lab falling off the space station, then the game goes back to you.

Now, head through the right door into a Navigation Room. Here, you'll be
scolded for what just happened. You'll also be informed of the Metroid colony
that was being bred aboard the space station, as well as bad news of
multiplying SA-X's running around. Accept the objective and enter the next
room. Go up the elevator to reach Sector 1 (SRX).

==============
Sector 1 (SRX)
==============

Back here, enter the room to the right. Jump up to the top, and go over the
wall and down. Drop to the bottom, and charge up a Missile, then shoot it at
the enemies above. Jump upward and stand on the highest frozen one, and shoot
a Missile in the hole to the right. Jump in and grab an Energy Tank (15). Go
back out and continue onward to the upper-right corner of this room. Once
there, go right into the next room. Avoid stepping on the ooze below and jump
across to the other side, then enter another room. In the next room, simply
go across to the following one. Save in here, then go back to the previous
room. Shoot through the floor and drop into the area below.

Go left and use charged shots to kill the enemy in the contained area. Do not
collect the X that comes out; let it transform into another enemy. Kill that
one with a Missile. Let those 2 X parasites turn into a golden laser-shooting
enemy. Defeat it by shooting it in the back with Missiles. Go through the
door to the right. In there, grab the Power Bomb Tank (44). Exit the room,
then jump back to the room above. Jump upward and climb up the wall, then go
right. Drop a Power Bomb to open a passage along the right wall. Climb up and
kill the enemy at the top with 2 Missiles, then enter the next room. Power
Bomb the room so the wall in the middle disappears. Defeat the enemies under
the floor, and let them turn into golden enemies where you are. Beat those
and head to the following room.

There, go up and left and enter the Save Room. Save your game, then go back
out and continue downward through the room. At the bottom, head left. In this
next room, use a diffusion Missile to freeze the enemies onscreen. Head
across the room around the frozen creatures. Destroy the gate creature with a
Missile to the eye to clear it. Recover with the red X and enter the boss
room. Drop down and approach the statue to meet Ridley again. Read the Bosses
section to find help with winning this battle.

Upon winning, grab the Screw Ball ability. Then, jump up to the top of the
room and exit here. Backtrack a bit to the second Save Room you come across
(consult your map if you're lost). Once you get there, save your game. Then,
leave the room and climb onto the left wall above. Shoot Missiles into the
right wall to open up a secret passage. Go through and enter the next room.
In there, shoot the switch to open the gate, then continue. In the next room,
use the Screw Attack to drop through the floor. Defeat the enemy down there
with the same ability. Jump to the right wall and drop down the other side,
and continue to the following room.

In the next room, get through by means of Screw Attack. At the end, shoot
through the wall to hit the switch, opening the gate. Go through the hole in
the wall and head onward to the next room. Jump upward with the Screw Attack,
and use it to break through the ceiling at the top. Head into the right room.
Next, head right through several rooms, up through the vertical one, and left
through 3. When you come to a room where you can go downward (it's the one
before the boss room on the map), do so. Use the Screw Ball to open an
opening in the right wall, and make more of an opening to the left so you can
walk through unobstructed. Go left a few rooms, then run back to the right,
shooting open the doors. Run all the way into the hidden room you opened up,
then drop downward and go right. Press A and hold Up to go up the other side
of the room, and break through some Speed Booster blocks. Bomb the left wall
and roll up to collect a Power Bomb Tank (46), then get out of here.

Run back left to the Save Room. Save, then get running to the right. Shoot
through the door into the next room. Shoot through the enemies and door, and
keep running to the third room. Press Down to hold the charge. Then, QUICKLY
jump up the left wall and shoot open the left door. Press A and hold Left to
charge into the room. Hold Left and you'll continue running in that room. At
the end of the path, press Down to hold, stand in the corner, and press A and
Up to shoot through the ceiling. Go right and collect a really obscure Energy
Tank (16). Go back down and head up and right to the next room. Go right
through several rooms to the last room. Go up it and head left into another
room. Go up and enter the first doorway to the left. Go left through several
rooms from there until you come to a large lava-filled room. Head left and
down into it, then roll right through a passage to find a Missile Tank (225).
Go back out and jump to a high left ledge to get another Missile Tank (230).

Now, go down and left through the green door to a new room. Head up this one
to the top, and enter the room to the right. There, get to the upper-right
corner of the room, and head through the green door. In this empty room, use
the Screw Attack to go through the ceiling, then go around to find a Power
Bomb Tank (48). Before visiting the Navigation Room and accepting a final
mission, you should go hunting for any items you're still missing. You'll
have to go through side paths to get to each sector, since if you walk
through a Navigation Room, you'll be stuck. So, from where you are now, go
right and jump to a ledge in the right wall. Roll into a hidden room, then
shoot through the door to reach a pathway to Sector 2 (TRO). Go through it.

==============
Sector 2 (TRO)
==============

Here, go through the door into the first room. Use the Screw Attack to get
through the wall, then continue to the large room ahead. For your first
destination, head to the first boss room, which is in the lower-right corner
of the map. It's where you got the Hi-Jump if you remember that far back.
Anyway, use your map to get to that room. Once you're in there, jump to the
upper-right ledge and Screw Attack through the wall. Continue into a new and
large room.

There, drop down and drop a Power Bomb to reveal Speed Booster blocks and a
Missile Tank in the wall. Go down and right, then run all the way left again.
When you get the charge, press Down to hold it, then jump up with the Screw
Attack; press A and hold Right in midair to charge into that wall. Grab the
Missile Tank (235). Go down and run to the right again. When you have a
charge, press Down to hold it, then do a somersault jump onto the upper
ledge. Press A and hold Left, then run across the platform of disintegrating
blocks. At the end, press Down and repeat. At the top, speed through the wall
to grab a Power Bomb Tank (50). Now, exit this room.

Follow the map and head back to the large room that's right next to the
Recharge Room. When you finally get there, get to the upper-right area and
enter that room. Go through the next few rooms and you'll come to the level 1
Security Room once again. This time around, jump to the top of the room and
Screw Attack your way through the left wall. Enter a hidden room there.
There, go left and use the Space Jump/Screw Attack to stay in the air as you
head left through here. EVERY platform has disintegrating floors, so don't
touch them or you'll have to go around and start over. Get to the upper-left
area to reach an Energy Tank (17). Go through it again until you make it over
a wall, then drop down a little and continue jumping to the left. Grab a
Power Bomb Tank you'll find (52); remember that this is VERY hard to reach,
so be prepared to try it again many, many times. Exit this room.

Now, head back a few rooms to the vertical room following the Security Room.
There, get to the bottom of the room, and head right. Screw Attack through
the wall and continue into yet another hidden room. Run through the tunnel to
reach Sector 4 (AQA).

==============
Sector 4 (AQA)
==============

In here, continue into the first room after this one. In the tall watery
room, jump to the top and Screw Attack through the ceiling. In the regular
room, continue to the top and hang onto the wall. Shoot a Missile into the
ceiling above, then jump/climb onto that ledge and go left so you can stand.
Charge up and shoot a diffusion Missile, so it destroys 2 blocks above the
narrow passage. Roll under it and jump in there, then jump/roll right into a
hidden passage. In there, head right into a new room. Continue through the
tunnel into Sector 6 (NOC).

==============
Sector 6 (NOC)
==============

Here, continue into the following room to start. In the next room, go right
and Screw Attack through the wall to make it into a larger room. Go up and
right into another room. Continue through some rooms until you reach a
vertical room. Once there, head downward a bit. Go into the first room on the
left side when you come to it. In there, open the door, but continue heading
left. Destroy the block in the path by using the Screw Attack. Defeat the
enemies and go all the way left, then run back right into the vertical room.
Back there, press Down to hold the charge, then press A and hold Right to get
through the wall. In that next room, there are several platforms with gaps in
between, and a wall to the right you need to Speed Boost through in order to
collect the Energy Tank inside of. You can make platforms appear over the
gaps, as well as columns that'll block your path of running. Figure it out
yourself, or refer to Zauron's work for the solution to that puzzle.

After you get all the gaps filled, run from the left to the right until
you're charged. Hold the charge, then press A and hold Right to get through
the wall and grab an Energy Tank (18). Now, go down and run back left until
you get a charge. As soon as you do, press Down to hold it. Shoot the left
door, then press A and hold Left to go through it with the charge. In the
next room, you'll charge through the Speed Booster blocks again to escape.
From here, head into the room to the left. Go left and break the block with a
Screw Attack, then shoot open the red door and kill the enemies in the room.
Go back right, then run all the way left. When you get charged, press Down to
hold, then jump onto the upper left ledge. Press A and hold Left to charge
onward. You'll go straight through a few rooms, and through many walls in a
larger room, too.

When you stop charging, drop a little and keep jumping under the series of
wall-divided platforms above. When you get to the one with a Power Bomb Tank
under it, check out the wall on the left side of it, and drop down directly
below that spot. Drop a regular Bomb on the ground to reveal the speed blocks
in the floor. Go right and down to the bottom area, then run to the left to
charge. When you get it, press Down, then go back to those couple of speed
blocks you revealed. When you get there, press A and hold Up to shoot upward.
If done right, you should shoot up through the floor and that wall to the
left of the tank. Go right and grab the Power Bomb Tank (54), then drop
downward.

Next, go back to the bottom area and run all the way right to charge up. At
the end, press Down to hold it, then jump to the ledge above. Press A and
charge left, straight at a ramp. As soon as you hit it again, start jumping
really quickly to the left. When you reach the upper platform to the left,
drop through with a Screw Attack while going at charged speed. Drop down and
grab a second Power Bomb Tank (56). Now, shoot through the floor to get out,
then go right and up out of this room. In the next room. go up and right,
fall through the last block, and continue to another room. Head right in this
next room, and drop downward. Go right and Screw Attack through the walls
into another room. You'll see some spiky enemies crawling around the
perimeter of the area. Get onto the right ledge and jump/bomb the wall to
open a passageway. Wait there for an enemy to crawl to the right. Charge up a
diffusion Missile and wait until it's on the ground to the right, crawling
back to the left. At that point, shoot the Missile to freeze it in that spot.
Roll through that tunnel, over the enemy, and onto the ledge with a Power
Bomb Tank (58) on it.

Now, go back left a few rooms, up to the top of another, and right several
rooms. When you make it back to the vertical room, head to the very top area
and Screw Attack through the right wall. Go right through the door into a new
room. Go through the tunnel to enter Sector 5 (ARC).

==============
Sector 5 (ARC)
==============

In Sector 5, go right into the next room. Screw Attack through the wall and
continue onward through several rooms. When you make it to the second large
room, get to the bottom-right section of it. Then, continue to the following
room. Go right 2 rooms and down one, then right through a yellow door into a
vertical room. Roll to the right and jump into a hidden passage to a new
room. Shoot the ceiling and jump upward to the top. Shoot the middle of the
ceiling up there, then jump up to grab a Missile Tank (240).

Now, backtrack a bit and get to that second large room once more. This time,
get to the upper-right area of it, and go through the open doorway to the
right. In that next room, shoot through the ceiling and jump upward. Go into
the room to the right. Head through the tunnel to reach Sector 3 (PYR).

==============
Sector 3 (PYR)
==============

In this area, go right to the door, but before going through, shoot the
ceiling to reveal a Power Bomb Tank. Jump and bomb the ceiling to reveal an
opening; jump through and collect that upgrade (60). Continue to the next
room. In there, go right and Screw Attack upward to break through the
ceiling. Continue right and use the Screw Attack to get through another wall.
In the room at the other side, grab a Missile Tank (245). Go into the room to
the right, then turn around and return to this room. Go left and use the
Screw Attack to break a block in the way, as well as the entire left corner
of the room. Go back right, then run left to make the Speed Booster kick in.
At the wall, press Down, then A and Up to shoot upward. At the top, jump to a
ledge with an Energy Tank (19).

Now, go back down and head right into that next room again. This time,
continue right through a couple rooms until you reach a larger one. In it,
head to the upper-right corner of the room. Use the Screw Attack to break
through parts of the upper wall, then roll right into the next room. Continue
right after bombing your way out, and defeat some enemies. Roll in the small
passage and bomb your way out again. Jump up and go right into the next room.
In there, turn around and shoot open the door again. Then defeat the enemies
and go all the way right. Run back left to get a charge, but just before you
reach the door, press Down to hold it in. Go left and press A and hold Left
to go through the doorway, and through the wall in the next room. There, drop
a Power Bomb to open a tunnel in the left wall. Jump up and roll through to
find another Power Bomb Tank (62). Go down and head left to the previous
room.

In that large room, get to the bottom-right area. Once there, head right to
the next room. Shoot the switch to open the gate, then run right into the
following area. Continue running so you break through the speed blocks at the
end. Drop through the floor, then drop a Power Bomb. A passage in the upper-
left wall will open; jump in and roll through. Jump to the high ledge to grab
a Power Bomb Tank (64). Go back right, and head into the right room. Drop
down with the Screw Attack until you reach the bottom of the chamber. Then,
go into the left room. Head across the lava pits into the room after it. Drop
a Power Bomb to open a small hole to the left. Drop through and enter a maze
area. Head down and right, then jump up and go right through a secret
pathway. Drop down on the right side to the bottom, and roll left to the
other side. At the other end, head up and right to reach a Power Bomb Tank
(66). Go right and drop through the floor, then jump out of this room. Head
back right several rooms to the room with 2 green doors. This time, enter the
one to the right.

Here, shoot through the spiky enemies and continue into the room to the
right. Continue into the following room. Shoot the switch to open the gate,
and go right across many ledges. At the end, jump to the top platform and
roll right to grab the final Energy Tank (20). Still in ball form, jump to
the upper left tunnel and roll through to find the final Missile Tank as well
(250). Now, go down and into the lava, and head right. Use the Screw Attack
to break a wall up ahead, then go back left and run all the way right. Shoot
open the door and run through. Continue running until you have a charge, then
press Down to hold it, and shoot up through the ceiling to break it open. As
you move upward, you'll collect a Power Bomb Tank (68).

Once you stop at the top, drop down through that passage again, and land on
the first ledge to the left. Jump and Screw Attack the ceiling to open a
passage; roll through it. Stand up and Screw Attack downward to reach another
Power Bomb Tank (70). Go back out the same way you came in, and head to the
top of the room. Go left into the following room. Screw Attack through the
wall, and head left through here, defeating the enemies you see.

Now, it's time to backtrack quite a bit. You must first get back to Sector 5,
via that tunnel you went through to get into this sector (it's on the left
end of your map, look for it). Get there, and enter Sector 5 (ARC).

==============
Sector 5 (ARC)
==============

Here once more, head left a couple rooms, down one, and left several. When
you get to the tunnel leading to Sector 6, go through it since you need to
get there as well.

==============
Sector 6 (NOC)
==============

Here in this sector, check your map once more, You'll notice a path in the
lower-left area of the map, leading into another area altogether. Make your
way all the way down there, and enter the Restricted Zone.

===============
Restricted Zone
===============

In here once more, head left and drop through the floor, and continue into a
Save Room. Save, then continue left into the next room. Run to the left and
shoot open the door, and run into that room. When you get the charge, hold
it. You'll notice 2 columns in the foreground that you can walk behind. Stand
behind the left one and press A, and hold Up to shoot through the ceiling. If
you did it right, you'll collect a Power Bomb Tank (72). After you get it, go
into the Navigation Room to the right. Here, you'll learn that the Federation
is on its way to the station to try and capture SA-X. After a little
soliloqui, check out the computer again and a long talk between Samus and the
computer system will ensue. After that, your final mission will be to change
the station's orbit, via the Operations Room. When the doors open, go right
and up the elevator to reach Sector 1 (SRX).

==============
Sector 1 (SRX)
==============

In this sector once more, check out your map and look for the Recharge Room.
Make your way to there, then enter the room. Go left through the next few
rooms, and head up the elevator to exit here.

=========
Main Deck
=========

Back on the main deck, take the central elevator upstairs. Then, make your
way right through several rooms until you reach one that goes downward. Jump
to the wall and roll into a hidden room. Use the Screw Attack to break
through the wall and roll into the room at the other side. Bomb your way out
and go upward; destroy the barrier with a Screw Attack and enter that room.
Go right and jump to the top of the right wall; you'll grab onto a hidden
ledge up there. Roll right and jump to make it over a wall. Drop all the way
down and go left to get the last Power Bomb Tank (74). Go left and bomb your
way out, then exit that room.

From here, go down and enter the next door to the right. Continue through
that room into a Save Room; save there before continuing further. In the next
room, jump up the ledges to the top area, then enter the room to the right.
Go through the Navigation Room to the next room. In there, go up and right to
a room with an elevator. Ride the elevator upward and enter the room it
leaves you in front of. In this large room, go left and jump to the top area.
You'll hear the room shake; go down and you'll see that SA-X has found you!
Read the Bosses section for help defeating it.

After the fight, enter the room in the upper-left area of the room. Go left
to the control panels in the Operations Room and activate them. Doing so will
change the station's orbit, and give you a 3 minute timer to evacuate. Follow
your map back down to where your ship is located. Make sure you visit a
Recharge Room on the way down here, or else you'll be screwed in this pending
fight. When you arrive at your ship's supposed location, you'll find it's not
there. A giant Metroid shell will be in its place. An explosion will occur
and a giant Omega Metroid will come out and face you. This is the final
battle, so visit the Bosses section for help here. Once you beat it,
congratulations on completing Metroid Fusion!

-=  7. Bosses -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Arachnus
   Found: Main Deck
Strategy: To defeat this guy, shoot Missiles at his frontside when he is
facing you. After you shoot, jump and hang from the ledge to
avoid a shockwave or fireballs shot at you. When he comes
close, jump over him and get to the other side of the room.
When he turns around, blast him with Missiles. When he rolls,
jump over him and be ready for the rebound. If you run out of
Missiles, regular shots will hurt it as well. After you hit him
enough times, he'll turn into a spiked orb creature that flies
around trying to hit you. Collect all the X surrounding it,
then hit it with a Missile. When it stops flashing, hit it
again. 3 hits will destroy it.

Tube Parasite
   Found: Sector 2
Strategy: To beat this giant tube-like boss, simply avoid it until it
goes in the air. It'll jump around a couple times, then slowly
glide downward. When it glides, get right under it and shoot
some Missiles into its tube to cause damage. As you damage it,
the creature becomes shorter and shorter until it's gone. After
it becomes a spiky orb, shoot it with Missiles to win.

Serris
   Found: Sector 4
Strategy: This giant sea snake is more of an annoyance if anything, I
think. It's a fast-moving creature that goes in and out of the
water just as fast. It has several patterns, including going
straight across all the platforms, doing a zig-zag (above a
platform, under the next, and so on), and flying across the
air. You can hang from the ceiling if needed. Anyway, to attack
it, you must shoot a Missile at its head. Your best bet is to
stay on one of the platforms, squatting down, and as soon as
you see its head, blast it with a Missile. Be ready to jump to
the ceiling though, since it'll go at ultra-fast speed for
several moments after the attack. When Serris moves at a more
normal pace, try for another attack. Do this 5 times to beat
the boss, then kill the flying spiky orb with more Missiles to
             win.

Security Robot
   Found: Sector 3
Strategy: The Security Robot is pretty simple, albeit annoying with its
fire attack. It hops around before stopping to throw a firebomb
out. It'll explode and send walls of fire moving in both
directions. Climb along the ceiling to avoid those. To attack,
get directly above the bot when its middle area is open, and
shoot Missiles down into it. Get ready to move when it stops
and closes its shell for a moment, because a firebomb will be
thrown out shortly afterward. After you've caused a good amount
of damage, you'll see part of the yellow plate on the boss's
middle has fallen off. Continue the attack and it'll escape,
             giving you the win here!

Giant Orb
   Found: Sector 6
Strategy: This giant creature floats around the room with many small orbs
surrounding it, much like a barrier. It's only vulnerable to
charged shots from your regular gun, so charge up and shoot
some of those small orbs off. If you hit the actual boss,
you'll cause damage. As you cause more damage, it'll change
color and seem to move slower. After enough hits have been
registered, it'll turn into a spiky orb creature. Hit it with
Missiles and jump to avoid it; hit it 5 times or so to win.

Black Widow
   Found: Main Deck
Strategy: For most of this battle, the boss is so simple that you
probably won't take damage as long as you follow the plan. It
starts by shooting 3 fireballs down onto the ground, then it
moves in a diamond pattern downward. After a few rounds of
that, it'll stop in the air and either move around again, or
reveal a vulnerable red spot and shoot out 3 more fireballs.
When its red spot is open, get under it and shoot several
Missiles straight up at it. To avoid the Black Widow otherwise,
roll up into a ball and stay in a corner. After you've damaged
the boss enough, it'll turn blue and continue the pattern.
Damage it several more times and its legs will fall off,
leaving the body to jump around. It'll spin in the air,
dropping a piece of junk on you, then fall upright, with its
vulnerable spot underneath. Shoot a Missile up at its weak spot
when it's not spinning to cause damage. Do that enough times
and it'll be destroyed. Now, just kill the spiked orb with
several Missile hits to win the battle.

Vine Wall
   Found: Sector 2
Strategy: This giant wall of a boss is actually simple to defeat; it's
those pesky pollen balls that the flowers shoot at you. When
you drop in, stay out of the flowers on the ground because they
hold you down and drain your energy. Stand on the clean ledge
and constantly shoot Missiles at the wall to the right. When a
pollen ball comes near, shoot it with your regular blaster.
After you hit the wall with enough Missiles, it'll break apart
and shoot lasers at you to retaliate. Duck or jump to avoid
them and continue shooting a barrage of Missiles at the same
spot you've been hitting. Keep doing that until you kill the
boss, and draw out the spiked orb. When its eye opens, hit it
with a Missile, then jump quickly to avoid a laser blast. Do
that a few times to kill it.

Nightmare
   Found: Sector 5
Strategy: Now, this boss can be a real pain in the neck to defeat. It
took me many tries to finally catch on to its pattern and win.
As it ascends into the room, climb to the top of the left wall
and wait for it to rise. When it's above you, drop down and
wait for it to come down again. Get yourself situated between
its 2 arms, and blast its core with Missiles. Don't worry too
much if you take damage here (provided you have alot of Energy
Tanks and full health upon entering this fight). It'll fly back
up for a moment, and come down again. After some hits,
Nightmare will alter gravity, making it hard for you to move.
Your Missiles will fall backwards if you shoot them, so wait
until it's right on top of you before blasting the core again.
After you destroy it, gravity will be restored and the next
part will begin. Hang on the wall and just POUND on the boss
with Missiles to the face. Watch out for the beams it shoots.
When it gets too close, Space Jump over it. It'll then hover
around the room quickly, following you, so stay airborne and
keep moving. After some rounds of that, it'll stop and hover
slowly at the wall again, so continue that attack. When you
finally beat Nightmare, hit the spiky orb some times with
             Missiles to totally win here.

Security Robot
   Found: Sector 6
Strategy: Against this robot for the second round, the battle can be
pretty simple, or pretty hard, so be ready! Starting off, the
water on the ground is electrically charged, so you will take
damage if you fall into it. It'll move around back and forth in
the water, hopping around, or just walking. It'll stop on
ocassion to shoot 4 homing missiles into the air. When you see
it stop and prepare to shoot, climb away on the ceiling, and
shoot down the missiles when they go up. Usually after this,
the robot will charge in your direction, hit a wall, and stop
temporarily. That's your chance to get right above it and shoot
Missiles into its center to cause damage. Follow this pattern
until the robot is destroyed. The water will disappear and a
spiky orb will appear; shoot it in the eye when it opens, and
jump to avoid its beam, to win.

Ridley
   Found: Sector 1
Strategy: Fighting Ridley here isn't as bad as you would expect, after
you catch a glimpse of what this beast looks like now. The main
battle plan is to stay under Ridley and CONSTANTLY blast
Missiles upward to cause damage. He'll shoot fireballs and try
to whip you from above with his tail, but those you can avoid
if you shoot out Missiles and keep hurting him. if he grabs you
and starts flying upward, shoot him several times to be freed.
After enough damage, Ridley will turn red. Employ the same
battle tactics here as well to finish him off. Then, shoot
Missiles at the spiky orb that comes next until that's gone,
             too.

SA-X
   Found: Main Deck
Strategy: This can very well be one of your toughest battles yet! SA-X
has all your powers, as you might imagine, but its are much
stronger, taking one or more Energy Tanks worth of health from
you with each hit. The only way to attack it is to shoot
charged beam shots at it. Use the Screw Attack often to move
around; this is good also because you're invulnerable to all
attacks when in Screw Attack mode. When you get a chance, hit
SA-X with a charged blast, then jump around again while you
recharge. After you've caused enough damage, SA-X will turn
into a giant creature that doesn't attack you. It's huge and
jumps around, so use the Screw Attack to jump around and avoid
it. Hit it with charged blasts in its face a few times to
defeat it. When the spiky orb appears, shoot its eye with
Missiles, then use the Screw Attack to jump and avoid its beam
shots. If you want to recover some health from this orb,
constantly hit it with your Screw Attack and grab the X's that
come pouring out. Hit it enough times in the eye to destroy it,
             winning this battle.

Omega Metroid
   Found: Main Deck
Strategy: As you might've guessed, this IS the final battle of the game,
although it's pretty easy. You cannot damage this creature on
your own now, so wait until it comes near and swipes at you
with its claw. That'll drain your health to 01 and paralyze
you. Another copy of Samus will come and save her, and show how
to hit the boss. When you have control, grab the blue parasite
X to regain full health. Now that you know what to do, run up
to the boss, aim diagonally upward at its chest, and start
blasting it with your regular beam. When it raises its claw,
run out of its range to avoid damage. Then, run in and continue
the assault. As you cause more and more damage, it'll change
color from blue to red. Continue the attack until the creature
explodes, your ship arrives, and you escape, completing the
             game!

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Bombs: Use to break blocks and such in places you couldn't reach otherwise.
To drop one, roll up into a ball (requires Morph Ball) and press B.
You can drop up to 4 at a time, and you have infinite amounts of them.

Charge Beam: Allows you to charge your regular blaster before shooting. Hold
            B to charge.

Diffusion Missiles: Allows you to charge your Missiles to hit the targeted
enemy and all surrounding enemies with an icy attack.
This helps when you're trying to freeze many enemies at
once, but can only hit one.

Gravity Suit: Allows you to move in all environments (i.e. water) without
             being slowed down.

Hi-Jump: Doubles the height of your regular jumps. This also enables
"Jumpball", which allows you to jump while in ball form.

Ice Missiles: Adds an icy touch to your Missiles. They freeze tougher enemies
on impact, allowing you to dispose of/avoid them quicker.

Missiles: Your secondary/more powerful projectiles. To shoot, hold R and
attack with B. These can also be used to blast open cracks in walls
and blocks that a regular bomb/blaster shot can't handle.

Morph Ball: Allows you to roll up in a ball form. This is extremely useful
for fitting through tunnels and other tight passages.

Plasma Beam: Allows your blaster to pierce through enemies upon impact. It's
a little stronger than previous beams, but instead of
dissipating upon impact, it goes right through the enemy, only
            stopping when hitting a wall.

Power Bombs: The super-powerful version of bombs. When dropped, they destroy
all types of blocks and destroyable walls in a room, as well as
most enemies. To use, roll up into a ball form, hold R, and
press B to drop. They take slightly longer than regular bombs to
detonate, not that it'll matter though.

Screw Attack: The final ability you will receive, this allows you to cause
damage to enemies when somersaulting in the air. It also allows
you to break through really powerful walls that you couldn't
get through until you have this item.

Space Jump: When you jump, you can jump again and again while in mid-air. To
do so, hold Left or Right and press A in mid-air to jump again.

Speed Booster: When you run a long enough distance, you'll start flashing and
moving super-fast. This can help you break through special
types of walls or floors. If you're charged while running and
want to hold the charge, press Down to hold the charge in for
several moments. To use the charge, press A, then hold the
Control Pad in the direction you want to charge.

Super Missiles: An upgraded version of your regular Missiles. They're strong,
and can take out enemies quicker with a more powerful punch.

Varia Suit: Allows you to handle hot and cold environments without taking
           damage.

Wave Beam: The last beam you will receive. It allows you to shoot through
walls with your regular cannon. This is useful for hitting enemies
or switches that are just out of normal reach.

Wide Beam: Makes your beam shot much wider, allowing you to hit a wider range
of enemies in your shot direction.
