---------------------------------Stuff------------------------------
Ok, right off the bat, they don't give people anough credit for doing
those letter things, hard work...

Down to business... I'm writing this FAQ for Megaman Zero because I
believe the game is hard enough to drive any player to an inch of thier
sanity..... Described on the back of the box as 'The hardest Megaman
game ever" It lives up to the title in most ways...

When you finally beat the game your first time through... You get an
even harder mode to beat, and that can be a pain... really...
This FAQ was made if your just looking for a certain strategy on a boss
or level, or just a complete walkthrough... anyway... I'll cut this and
go to the more important stuff...

---------------------------------Updates-------------------------------
Version 1.0- 9/18/02
First Release!

--------------------------------Characters-----------------------------

Zero- If any of you played Megaman X6, you know the story, but for the
rest of you...
Zero put himself to sleep for 100 Years to keep the Zero Virus
contained. In Megaman Zero, Zero is awakened 102 years later by a
scientisy named Ciel. You play as Zero through the whole game, the X
series went from X, to X and Zero, and now its just Zero. He doesn't
remember anything now, so no X6 skills are gonna be here...

Ciel- The scientist that awakened Zero, and leads a rebellion against
humans and thier leaders and the one whos trying to 'retire' reploids,
Megaman X...

Passy- Ciel's Cyber Elf I think... anyway Passy awakens Zero really...
other than that she's really not in the game... but I have a feeling
she's gonna be like an uber-elf in later Megaman Zero games...

Four Guardians- They work under X as his top henchman, and they have
little men under them to. Needless to say you gotta fight 'em all.
Phantom, Harpuia, Leviathan, and Fernir.

X- Megaman X leads the army trying to retire the reploids, and he is
with the humans... X's name sounds familiar to zero right from the
start...

-------------------------------Game Info-------------------------------

Controls: Read the manual if you need to know these...

Game System:
This is where it gets new! This game is played alot differently than
the Megaman X series, instead of the traditional "Get weapon murder boss
with that weakness" pattern, the game is gonna make you fight your
hardest to win. The levels are hard, but mercifully pretty short.
Instead of just picking one of eight levels, you pick from different
missions, finishing one will lead to another until you finish that
chain.

Elves: These little guys are what powers Zero up rather than sub-tanks
and heart tanks, you can even get a whole other Vit bar, like most
bosses...they can be found by killing enemies, breaking containers, or
fufilling certain conditions.

Weapons- Rather than only the Z-Saber, Zero has 4 weapons this time
around, and can have two equipped at the same time for combos and such.
He can charge his weapons by using them often, like leveling them up.
They'll be explained fully in the weapon section.

-------------------------Walkthrough-----------------------------------

Ok, this is the main part of the FAQ. Basically I'll put my starategy to
the level first, and my stategy for the boss at the end. The levels are
in my suggested order, but you can do them anyway you want.

Opening, Prehistoric-Lab   Boss: Golem

Love this music, Zero's X1 music!
You start off on the left side of the screen going right with enemies
already coming at you. You can get through this level really easily by
just firing away with your Z-Buster, but if you want an "S" Raanking you
gotta hold back and kill alot of Gun enemies, and protect Ciel.
Otherwise its pretty much ok to run through the level and leave Ciel
behind because she has infinite HP, (trust me, I tryed it) just try to
keep your health up for the boss.

Golem:
You can actually damage this thing, aim for its head and fire your Z-
Buster.(you gotta hang off the wall) Once you got it about 1/4 HP gone,
The battle will stop and you'll get the Z-Saber, take it and equip it.
Then your just a slash away from killing the golem.

Reploid Disposal Center    Boss: Aztec Falcon

You don't have a choice to come here, so thats all there is to it.
This is much different than the first level, you gotta dodge some stuff.
The wheels will do alot of damage if your not careful, so jump them when
you can, and always dodge the spikes! The regenerating towers near the
middle of the level are perfect for leveling up your Z-Saber, and all
your other weapons, I suggest standing there and hacking at them until
you get the charged Z-saber ability, it'll make the boss alot easier.

Aztec Falcon:
If you have the charged Z-Saber, this is a piece of cake, charge it and
nail him every chance you get and he'll be dead real soon, you really
don't have to worry about your health unless its too low. If you didn't
take my advice, or your going on hard mode, you gotta use alot of aeril
attacks, and Z-buster attacks. There's a time limit too, I imagine the
mission ends if it runs out, but it never happened to me, I either died
or won. Aztecs main attack is to switch sides of the room, and jump
down, and to fire 3 small 'stings' at you. Those are easily dodged.
When he slams into the ground and releases the balls of thunder, climb
as high as you can before they hit you, and jump down near the other
side of the stage, not the middle, you'll land on Falcon... If you dodge
and fire your Z-Buster, you'll win pretty easily, grab the lightning
chip and be on your way.

Destroy Supply Train    Boss: Train Core

When this level starts out go right, and jump the pits, and dodge the
roaders, too much damage can mean death. If you use your buster
effeciently, you'll be succesful. When you get to the mid-boss, if you
have the charge saber, equip the Lit Chip, and hit him with a charged
blow, it'll stun him and knock him down, then just hack away. Otherwise,
you gotta sit in the corner when he launches his spike ball chain, and
charge him when he shoots the energy balls. After he's gone, leave the
room and you find... the train, it takes off as you get on, and thiers a
time limit, I believe 3 minutes, the Arm Droids hurt alot, dodge them at
all costs, wait for them to charge and jump over them.
The small missle shooting guys are a pain, you gotta dodge thier
missles, or strike them with your Z-Saber/Z-Buster or whatever you use.
The guys with the big spiked wheels are easy if your patient, just wait
till they throw there wheel and when their picking it back up, hit em...
also, the last drop in the level, where you can't go forward anymore you
go down the crack. Hold down to the right or left, cuz theres no
platform below.

Train Core:
This is pretty simple, its weakness is the lighning element, and you'll
hack about 1/9 of its life off with it. It shoots fire out the bottom,
and the third blast goes really far, so be sure to run back. When the
platforms start rising to the spikes, stay constanly moving, and never
jump. Just wait for it to stop. Not too hard.

Occupy Factory         Boss: Dragon Head Robot

This level can be hard, so theres a little secret to it, before you
enter the factory, theres a series of platforms that lead to the tops of
those towers, take out the floating bombs with your buster and jump from
tower to tower onto the platfrom and you should find the ventalation
shaft, inside is a 1-up, and a cyber elf, and you get to skip the sensor
part. The area with the moving platforms can be hard, and theres not much
more annoying than getting hit by something when your trying to jump
from platform to platform, so whip out that buster an kill those bots.

Dragon Head Robot:
This can be hard if your an impatient person. The heads get replaced, so
don't bother killing them. I stayed in the far left bottom corner and
only attacked when the robot first opened the blue crystal out, even
though the attacks aren't that damaging, it's kinda tough, Lightning
will hurt this thing the most. The fire chip is yours.

Find Shuttle          Boss: Anubis Necromancis III

This levels pretty easy, the only reason I recomended the factory first
is cuz the boss can be hard, and fire is his weakness. The level isn't
too hard, just slash the projectiles the snakes shoot at you, and watch
out for those bear-trap things, when they grab you, tap all the buttons
to make them let go.(Don't do a quick reset accidentaly) When you find
the area with the moving sands, kill the things in the middle to make
them stop, even the part with ruins should be destroyed, cuz it'll hurt
you later. After you kill the boss, go all the way to the left to get a
1-up, and life restore, then get the soldier and go. Remember when I
said kill the whirlpool making robots? This is why, You soldier friend
will stop if you get too far away, and enemies will attack him then. I
don't know if he can die or not, so I suggest protecting him. Just don't
stray too far from him, and kill the bear traps, don't jump over them.

Anubis Necromancess III:
This guys pretty tough if your not ready so here we go. The fire chip
will kill this guy, just charge and slash, after you hit him twice with
the chip, he'll dissapear and two columns with try to squish you, when
they come at you, hold one direction and climb one of them to safety.
When he comes back he'll deal some evil Necromancy and summon some
desert men, DON'T LET THEM GRAB YOU! They'll just knock away your HP and
keep knocking you into other ones of them.basically a death trap.
Then get two more fire hits in.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Hidden Base     Boss: Blizzark Stagroff

This can be a pain, simply because of the parts with the spikes, I can't
really guide you past them. But to get to the base just walk left untill
you see a whirlpool robot, and kill it, that reveals the base...OOOOH
REAL HIDDEN! Anyway, once your past the part with the spikes, theres
glaciers on top of the level, shoot em with your Z-Buster to knock em
down and jump across. Walk on the ice to find the ladder up into the
real base.If you go all the way to the left on the ice though, theres a
1-up and some health. In the base, you gotta save all 7 reploids. A real
pain, they are in the cells, and you gotta slash the consoles twice to
let them out. You gotta climb the ladders to go to different floors, and
don't bother opening the cells with enemies in them. The sensor droids
will sense you and call in those annoying arm enemies, so don't let them
see you. There are also some ladders on the bottom, don't miss em! Oncee
you've rescued them all, go to the hangar (Boss Door).

Blizzark Stagroff:
One of your harder bosses, weak to fire, nail him with it, and watch out
for when he jumps on you. If he fires the big ice beam, climb the wall
till it passes. Just be agressive in this battle! When he dies he drops
the Ice chip!

Lost Data       Boss: Ganreff ( Big elephant)

You can actually do this level whenever you want, I just left it out.
This levels where you first started out only it has more enemies. The
pit can be tough cuz of the spinning lightning people, you can't kill
them so don't try. They are an abundance, so time your dashes and
stuff... the enemies are easy, but elephant boy is another thing.
once you kill him, the place starts collapsing, just dash and dash jump
alot, i mean actually use the L button, and kill the gates that close
with your Z-Saber.

Ganreff:
He can be hard, so try to stay out of corners, cause when he does his
quick arm attack it'll hurt! When he rolls, dash jump over him. there
are no walls, so you can't do much. Hit him with lightning, and he'll
get stunned, just get out of corners!

Protect Base!   Boss: Giant Mechalnoid!

This happens after six missions, the base is attacked and you fight a big
car, Its easy with the charged saber, you just have to kill the parts,
the pod where reploids come out, the pod where land mines come out, and
the missle pod, don't stress time too much, it takes about 3 minutes to
reach base, more than enough time, just remember to dodger the spikes in
the level, because its in the junkyard where you fought Aztec.

You can do these 4 missions in any order, but I really think you should
do Phantom last cuz he's the hardest!

Rescue Colbor    Boss: Halperia

This level is one of the hardest in the game, cuz your getting tracked
by so many projectiles! The Flying Droids are hitting you, the missle
guys, and there are jumps to top it off. You start just dash jumping
from platform to platform, but be careful, because some platforms
collapse. When you get to the area with the moving platforms with gunmen
on them, just kill the gunmen and jump onto the platforms, be careful for
the flying droid who attacks you because he can knock you off. Time your
jumps.

Halperia:
This is a tough battle, first off, she's weak to ice. So freeze her.
When you hit her, she likes to jump onto the ground and fire slashes,
move in this pattern, jump, stay still, jump, and run to the farthest
corner and jump. Then she'll either look like she's charging something
or start flying around launching slashes again, freeze her if she's
flys, freeze her if she charges, and she'll go back to the slashing
combo. If you let her charge she'll release slow moving projectiles that
home. Just nail her with the ice again, and dodge all you can. She has
three life bar layers, so keep on your toes.

Duel in the Desert  Boss: Fernir

This level isn't too hard because there are alot of enemies, and they
seemed to drop health chips alot. Alot of the sand snake shooters and
vultures, and the camel you saw in the hidden base mission, hit its
head, then its body. You can't back track, and you wanna try to be fully
healed for Fernir.

Fernir:
He can be tough if you don't know how to deal with him. He likes fire,
he hates lightning. He shoots either 3 small fireballs in succesion, or
one big one, either way, jump them to avoid them. When he jumps into the
air and slams his fist onto the ground, jump the resulting shockwave and
electrocute him. It'll stun him, but don't stay too close or he'll do a
painful dash attack in which he grabs you and hurls you up into the air,
very painful. If he gets you in the grab, hold to the right or left so
he can't slam you down for even more damage. Thats all there is to it.

Stop the Hacking    Boss: Leviathan

One of the harder levels in the game, its back in the hidden base, and
its the only level underwater. Underwater, you can jump higher, which is
good because there are giant spike pits. Watch out for the fish and
squids, cuz if they kock you down while your jumping across spikes,
you're screwed. The submarines above rise and lower, so on the taller
underwater platforms, be sure not to get squashed. At one point theres a
huge submarine that can squash you, so duck into the ditch nearby. After
that climb oto the submarines, and dodge the missiles they shoot. When
the submarine your on is at max hieght, dash jump to the next one. climb
the ladder back to the base. In the base, climb to the second floor and
go all the way to the left room. Destroy the computers, and when Ciel
tells you to leave, leave.

Leviathan:
When your leaving the base, and back underwater, you get to fight
Leviathan. She's weak to fire, and not that hard. She shoots ice shards
from her staff, and can make a ring of them when she spins it. When she
starts swimming around making shards everywhere, don't try to jump,
because they start falling and there are spikes in the level. You can
jump abnormally high, so hit her with that flame. She dies while making
a feminist remark.

*Actually none of these guardians die as you can see.

Protect the Factory     Boss: Phantom

Phantom:
In my opinion this is the hardest guardian, and maybe the hardest boss
with the exception of the boss of the game at some points. I'm doing the
boss strategy first because you fight him right away. Phantom uses ninja
like skills, and is fast. Oh, and he doesn't have an elemental weakness,
my charge-happy friends. He has a variety of attacks. One, He'll split
into four seperate images, and the flashing one is the real one. Fire
your Z-Buster and then dash jump to the other side of the room, if he
splits up again, repeat. After 1,2,or 3 of those hits on him, he jumps
down on you, thats why I tell you to dash. The Z-Buster is more helpful
than the Z-Saber in this fight, especially in hard mode. He sometimes
dashes at you repeatedly after he jumps down from the split up thing,
and if that happens he won't stop until you hit him twice, he gets
really close there, his most annoying move in my opinion. If you don't
fire at his 4 split images, he jumps up and throws one huge shuriken at
you. He frequently throws his shuriken and jumps on it. He rides around
throwing daggers at you so keep moving, after 1 dagger stay away from
the middle of the screen, cuz he jumps off sometimes. And then he
dashes... After you kill him, you have to deactivate his bombs...

Mission:
It saves after you kill Phantom so you don't have to worry. You have 3
minutes to deactivate 8 bombs. Take the ventalation route mentioned
earlier, and Ciel will give you the little notice on how to deactivate
the bombs. The first 3 are in plain sight. The fourth, fifth and sixth
are in the pit, above it on the platforms, and the last 2 are above the
pit. I finished with 30 seconds, but be sure to grab the extra livfe
every time.

Attack on Base       Boss: Fire Monkey

The base is under attack! Ciel tells a little foreshadowing of the story
line. And you're off. This missions pretty straight forward, they tell
you were to go. First go to the engine room, kill the droids there, then
take the elevator up to the energy crystal room for the boss fight. Look
out for the Arm droids, they still hurt.

Fire Monkey:
Besides his screaming yells of 'monkey!' This monkey isn't that once you
figure him out. He likes to climb the wall and jumb back over, so just
climb before him, and hit him when he lands. Sometimes he shoots little
monkeys if you don't hit him. And he also jumps up and shoots fireballs
while he spins. He likes to turn into a fireball and bounce around the
room. I was mainly in the right corner, so all i had to do was jump when
he first attacked and when he came back, stand in the corner. His
weakness is lightning, so fry him.

Neo Arcadia Shrine    Bosses: Double Demons, Spinning Bug, Heracrois

This level isn't that annoying, the enemies are pretty easy, so their
easy kills. The first boss you face is the flying demon pair. There are
spikes below them, so watch out. The Shield Boomerang can guard most of
thier attacks, basically they shoot while flying, like the flying droids
earlier with more vitality. Kill 'em and be on your way. The next part
still isn't that hard, just more enemies, some jumps, more enemies. When
you meet with the Sword-Wielding Bug Boss, Hit him with the Lightning,
He'll fall if you avoid his spins. Just climb the wall. Then theres the
annoying part, the disappearing platforms can take many tries, watch
where they appear and dissappear, and try to get a timing for when to
jump, I always jumped after they fired downward. If you get past that
you'll face the final boss.

Heracrois:
He's weak to Ice if I remember correctly, so just Ice him. He likes to
shoot bolts at you, and to shoot electric chains at walls and hook on,
but if you stay high up for that its easy, so just hit him when you get
the chance.

Neo Arcadia Tower     Bosses: Rainbow Goo

This level likes to use spikes, and theres an abundance of climbs, if
you used a certain hack elf this should be easy, otherwise stay on the
platforms, dodge the spikes. There aren't any new enemies.

Rainbow Goo:
This guy does't show any real weaknesses when he's hit, and he can hurt
you, I think it was fire, but if I'm wrong I apologize, but anyway, nail
him with whatever element it was he was weak against every chance you
get, when he slits into dragon heads, dodge them the best you can, I had
to take a few hits, but all in all not too extrememly tough, lotsa
strength so avoid the best you can.

Neo Arcadia Core        Bosses: Aztec Falcon, Blizzark Stagroff,  Anubis
Necromancess III, Heracrois, Halperia, Leviathan, Fernir, Phantom.
Whew....

This is your basic Megaman fight every boss again stage, with easy
enemies inbetween, so bulk up in between the sets of bosses, and check
the strategies above. After you kill a boss some health chips appear.

This is the charts as best as I can remember them...
Room 1                       Room 2
Anubis     Aztec             Halperia   Fenrir

Blizzark   Heracrois         Phantom    Leviathan

**** When Phantom Is out of energy, move away when he says: "I'll take
you with me", Cause he laucnhes fire ball like explosions, if you're low
on health it would stink to die like that.*************

Ok then there's more enemies, one really annoying jump, and the boss of
the game.

                                SPOILER
If you don't wanna know the secret of the final boss, don't look here!
Or wait till you've found the secret, then look back here for the
strategy..........................................................

Boss Of Game: Megaman X, Angel X

Yea suprise, suprise it's X, now heres the strategy. X is pretty easy in
the first battle, he has a weakness, and it's determined by the color of
his cool armor. It keeps changing, his attacks are pretty easy to dodge,
to do your best and hit him with what hurts. He likes to do a slide kick
thing and dashes in the air alot, pretty fast, but time your elemental
blasts and he'll be gone quickly.

Angel X:

You wish that was the boss of the game, but it has to be muh more
annoying... this boss is annoying, Lots of HP. The simplist way to hit
him is to jump on the spike columns on the side and hit him with a
charge hit. (He's the boss of the game, no elemental weakness here) He
has these main attacks.

1) Shoot two sets of stings in a circular pattern, you can't really
dodge these, just step where you think is best.

2) Shoots a line that sets the ground on fire, climb on the spike
pillars while he's doing this, cuz it HURTS!

3) His most annoying, restrain you from moving with circular things, if
you keep moving they'll miss you, but if your over a pit and they knock
you down you'll be draged to your doom...

Just keep nailing him and he'll die eventually, sit back and watch
the...ending...whew....
