I. Basics
=============================================================================

This is a short and sweet FAQ detailing what cards combine into what in
"Fullmetal Alchemist: Wandering Rondo".  This is not a walkthrough for the
game itself, so I will address no gameplay issues there.

The card combination system, the basis for Edward's attacks, is amazingly
simple.  On any given card there are five things:

----------------
|    Color     |
| ------------ |
| |          | |
| |   Pic    | |
| |          | |
| |          | |
| ------------ |
|              |
| Mass   Value |
|    Level     |
----------------

Color: Depicts the basic element of the card.  Grey represents metals.
Yellow-orange stands for stones.  (It looks orange, but the
instruction booklet swears that it's yellow).  Green is nature, and
      purple represents darkness.
Pic: Shows a cool picture of what the card represents.
Mass (質量): The weight of the item.  Ranges from 1-7.  Listed in Arabic
      numerals.
Level (レベル): Indicates how many cards were transmuted to make the card,
as well as its strength.  Determines what alchemic techniques can be
utilized when using the card.  Ranges from 1-5.  Listed in Roman
numerals. (I - V)  This does NOT affect what the final
Value (価値): How much the item is worth.  Ranges from 1-7.  Listed in Arabic
      numerals.

During every battle, or if you activate the Alchemy command from your main
ring menu by pressing the L button outside of battle, five cards will be
displayed.  This is your current alchemy selection list.  You can choose to
use a card, combine cards, or discard cards.  If you use a card, it vanishes
from your list, and another one, randomly generated, appears in its place.
If you combine cards, your old ones will disappear, your new special card
appears, and your 'hand' is refilled to five cards.  If you discard cards,
your hand is again refilled.  You will never have more or less than five
cards in your inventory.

What happens if you combine cards?  More importantly, under what conditions
can you combine cards?  Ah, here is where the fun comes in!

Every card, once it is generated, starts at level I.  The mass and values
are also randomly generated.  Some permutations do not appear naturally, and
only appear if they are transmuted from existing cards.

First, choose your first, or base, card.  The element of your base card will
be the element of your final product.  Second, choose the card you wish to
combine with your base card, then press confirm.

If the second card is a nature (green), metal (grey), or stone (orange)
component, the mass and value will ADD to that of the base card.  If the
second card is darkness (purple), then the mass and value will SUBTRACT from
the base card.  Regardless of what cards you use, the levels will always ADD
together.

Ex. 1:  A green Sand (3 II 1) card combined with a grey Titanium (1 I 5)
card will create a green Wine (4 III 6) card.

Ex. 2:  A green Tree (5 III 7) combined with a purple Obsidian (2 I 2) will
create a green Clay (3 IV 5).

Ex. 3:  A purple Obsidian (2 IV 2) plus a orange Rock (3 I 1) will give you
a purple Dark Stone (5 V 3).

You can combine multiple cards at once, as long as the order you combine
them in does not cause either Mass or Value to go over seven during the
sequence, or the cards you combine do not gain a Level above 5.
