1) Introduction:
----------------
This is a walkthrough for the GBA game A Sound of Thunder.
Before we start of the walkthrough, to clarify things:
North refers to the top right direction
South refers to the bottom left direction
East refers to the bottom right direction
West refers to the top left direction
If you want to find a specific stage, so press CTRL+F and
enter the word "Stage", a space, and the number of the
stage you want.
2) Controls:
------------
D-pad: controls your character's movements
A button: uses selected weapon
B button: jump
L button: switches weapon
R button: use to activate things or pick up objects
Select: view stats
Start: pauses game
3) Main Menu:
-------------
Single Player: Play through the game by yourself, you can
obtain level passwords in this mode.
Link-up: Link up with other GBAs and play through the
stages of the game, however, you can only play
through the stages that you have the passwords
for.
Password: Enter the password for the available stages.
Options: The options menu, you can tweak the gamma,
sound, and music.
4) Weapons:
-----------
*Note*: I don't know the correct name for these weapons
Electric Rod: a melee weapon, hold a to charge it, when it
touches an enemy, it automatically shocks it
Machine Gun: the first gun you get, it deals low amounts of
damage, but its quick
Ammo: black clips
Shotgun: a powerful, yet slow gun
Ammo: box with yellow shells or red shells, or
red shells
Slow-mo Bomb: when fired, it slows enemies temporarily
Gernade Launcher: fires gernades, a very powerful weapon,
however, can damage Travis if too close
hold A for longer distance
Ammo: gernades
5) Items:
---------
Vest (can be blue or green): replenishes your life
'Red Bomb': not sure what this is, but it seems to summon
hidden enemies (occasionally) and put rings
around you.
Security Card: used to open locked doors
Boxes:
-Wooden Box: a wooden box that you can move
-Brown Steel Box: a box that is heavy enough to lower a
switch
-Gray Steel Box: a box that is heavy enough to lower a
switch, it slips into the direction you
push it into
-Power Cells: same as Gray Steel Box, but is black with
yellow marks.
6) Walkthrough:
---------------

Stage 1 (Password[none]):
_________________________
You (as Travis) start the stage off with 200 bullets in your
machine gun.
The first thing that happens is that several small dinos will
appear. Take care of them. Now you wont' be able to jump
across the gap on the road, so go to the red sidewalk to jump
over the gap there.
After you jump the gap, continue North, and another wave of
small dinos will appear.
After you take care of them, head North, then go West, you'll
find a ladder there, go up and grab the ammo.
Go back down, head East. Another wave of small dinos will
appear, take care of them, then continue North to enter the
building.
First, head West to grab the vest. Now go the the East of the
room, you'll see a door, and an intercom beside it, activate
that. Don't open that door yet.
Go North, and open that door.
Inside this room there will be a big dino with serveral small
dinos, take care of those first.
Grab the vest in the cubicle to the East.
Now go aroun the shelves.
Grab the box, drag it all the way North. Jump up onto the
cabinets, then to the shelves, go East a bit, then jump to
the shelves in the South, and grab the Machine Gun ammo and
Shotgun ammo.
Go back out the room.
See that box? Go the the North side of it, and push it South
onto the counter. Jump onto the counter on the West side of
the box, and push it off the counter. Go to the North side
of the box, and push it all the way South. Jump up onto the
platform, and grab the thing bomb on it (now referred to as
the 'Red Bomb'), serveral Big Dinos will appear, take care
of them.
Now enter the door on the East.
Go to the first door on the South, watch out for the
medium dinos that might appear. In this room, grab the
Machine Gun ammo, the Shotgun, and the piece of paper, (it
says 6795). A wave of small dinos will drop out. Take care
of them and go back out. Continue all the way East until the
path split, watch out for the medium dinos that come out.
Go South, take care of the small dino, and the medium dino.
Then grab the Machine Gun ammo and the vest.
Continue South then East. There is a big dino, so take care
of that. Ignore the two doors and continue East, then North,
though you should beware of two more dinos in you way.
Continue North and go into the North door, inside there will
be several dinos, go along the corridor and take care of
those and grab the two Machine Gun ammo, the Shotgun ammo,
the Shotgun, and the green vest. Exit and you'll find
yourself at the path split earlier, now, go South, East,
and North, now you'll be back to where the two doors are.
Now this time, enter the door to the East. Grab the Shotgun
ammo (two of them) and go East to the path split. Here, go
North, and a cutscene will ensue.
After that grab the Machine Gun ammo, the Vest, and the keys
from the dead body. After you grab those, prepare for dinos
to drop out from the air.
Now go back South and West, and out the door. Now head
South and West. You'll find a a double door (which is
actually an elevator). Go in, activate the pad and exit.
Now you're upstairs.
Go West, and into the door. Go to the cabinet and grab a
Slow-mo Bomb, get the Vest if you need it, then grab the
Red Bomb. Watch out for the big dinos that fall out of the
sky. Now head out, and be prepare for a wave of small
dinos.
Now go all the way East, and enter the door.
Inside this room, get the Shotgun ammo from the cabinet,
the Vest. Now open the safe (the blue thing beside the
cabinet), and get the Security Card.
Go out, and prepare for another wave of small dinos.
Now go back downstairs, and now you can open the door
across the lift.
First, go West and push the box against the North wall
and against the furnace, jump up and grab the Machine
Gun ammo. Grab the same box again, and pull it East until
the second last square, then drag it South two squares.
Then, go up to the other box, drag it East twice, and
North once. Now go to the gray box and push it North, then
West. (Note that if you push this type of box it'll slip
out of your hands in continue till it hits something)
Grab the Steel Box and pull it to the other switch (the
square on the floor that sticks out). Now open the door to
the East and enter. As soon as you enter, there will be a
big dino, so prepare. Then enter the main room and take
care of the three small dinos. Grab the Vest and the
Security Card, and enter the door to the North.
Now continue North and you'll be back to the door where the
dead corpse is (also where you last talk to Sonia). Enter
the door.
As soon as you entered, there will be a really, really big
dino, with a few small dinos, take care of those.
Sonia will come out from a cubicle, talk to her. She'll
tell you that you have to go back to TSI, and the stage
will end.

Stage 2 (Password: BHRTYP):

Go to the blue car, and get in.
--------------------
Controls:
A button: accelerate
B button: reverse
--------------------
Go North to get to the next area.
Now follow the path (to the East), don't worry about the
small dinos, unless if you want to roll over them to get
full score at the 'enemies' category.
In the next area, a purple like dinosaur will start to
chase you, watch out, cause if it hits you, your health
lowers.
Follow the path and you'll be ok. (Note that you can
go over those orange pipes)

Stage 3 (Password: LSKGHG):
___________________________
Here, you learn of the item that you need to bring back
to the past to return things back to normal: a
butterfly.
And so, after the cutscene, go West, notice the hole in
the left corner of the screen, dinos (two waves) will be
coming out of that, so take care of them first.
Grab the Machine Gun ammo. Now, push the Westest box
West one square, then South until it is on top of the
two other wooden boxes to the South. Get up onto that
row of boxes and push the same box you just pushed onto
the larger, steel box.
Now drag the other wooden box West four squares, and
then onto the two wooden boxes. Now push the wooden box
that you left on the steel box next to the hole, jump
into the hole and enter.
Go South, then West and take care of any dinos that get
in the way. Notice the two holes, it doesn't really
matter which one you pick, but I recommend going to the
lower one (if you go the other way, you'll just end up
outside the room that you'll be in if you go the way
I recommended).
Once you drop out into the room, take care of the
dinos. Then grab the Red Bomb, and the Machine Gun ammo
on the desk, and exit the room (door's West).
Go North then East (remember to take care of the dinos
along the way), grab the Shotgun ammo, and the Vest.
Now go back West then go South all the way. Take care
of the small dinos, then grab the Machine Gun ammo, and
the Machine Gun. Go North and down the stairs to the
West.
Follow the stairs, but be careful, as there are dinos
theres. Take care of them and enter the door.
After the cutscene (and a demostration of the electric
floor), jump across the gap (use the box if you need to,
but it's possible to sucessfully jump across the gap
without it).
Go East, and enter the door there, take care of the
dinos and grab some Machine Gun ammo and a Vest.
Go back out, and enter the door to the South.
Take care of the big dinos.
Jump up the boxes to the South to get the Shotgun ammo.
Now, take the box closest to the door that you entered
from and drag it South four times, then West twice.
See that box to the East, push it on top of the box
that you just dragged around. Now drag the box that
you used to get the Shotgun ammo North four times, then
West once. As a result, the boxes should form a stair-
case leading to the brown steel box. Pull the brown
box South once, jump over it, and push it South twice.
The steel box should be on top of a wooden box, grab
the wooden box, and pull it out. Then push the steel
box North. Now use that, and the other steel boxes to
activate all the switches. Note that dinos will try to
stop you.
After activating all the switches, the yellow door to
the West will be unlocked, go in.
Notice how there are two switches beside a computer at
the West wall, and two gray steel boxes, one in a
middle row of computers and the other one in the South
column. Go to the South box and push it West, then
push it North. For the box in the middle row, push it
North, then West, the safe will open, go in. Get the
Security Card. Go out and prepare for a wave of dinos.
The yellow door on the North wall will now be open, go
in. Now go into the lift. Activate it, and get out.
And that's the end of the stage.

Stage 4 (Password: LZDBVZ):
___________________________
First, grab the Gernade Launcher from the corpse, then
enter the door.
Well, there's a safe here to open, but the circuit is
opne, so it looks like we've got to go the long way to
open the safe.
First, go West into the room to grab a Machine Gun
clip and a Vest if you need it. Then go into the door
East of the room.
As soon as you enter, a dino will come at you, so
watch out.
Head East and grab a Gernade Launcher and Machine Gun
clips.
Go up to the shelve and grab the fuse, and Machine Gun
clip.
Head North and enter the room.
Watch out for the small dino and grab the Machine Gun
clip next to the bushes.
Head downstairs and watch out for a bunch of small
dinos.
Continue East, and grab the Shotgun Shells and watch
out for the two dinos coming at you.
Head up the ladder.
Watch out for the small dinos in the vent.
Head to the opening closest to the one where you
entered the vent from. Go in.
Watch out for the dinos here, after taking care of
them go the the circuit break (it's at the Northeast
corner of the room) and plug in the fuse (AKA press
R). Now head back up the vent.
Go North to the crossroads, and head East into the
opening.
Jump the across the gap to the South to get a Vest
and Shotgun ammo, but beware, as soon as you land,
a wave of small dinos will appear (though only one
lands on your platform). Go back North and into the
vent.
Head West to the next opening.
Grab the box that is not on a ledge and push it onto
the middle ledge (the one with the ladder).
Push the box that's on the ledge down, then go to the
North of it a pull it one square. Now, go to the East
of the box and push it until it is next to the other
box.
Jump of the box, and push the other box off the middle
ledge.
Move the box that you just pushed off so that it is
next to the ledge to the West.
Use the box as a staircase and jump up onto the ledge
and reward yourself with Shotgun bullets, Machine Gun
clips, and a piece of paper that says "6795".
As soon as you grab the piece of paper, a wave of
small dinos will come.
Head back into the vent.
Now head all the way back to the safe you couldn't
open. To do so:
Go East to the crossroad, then go South, ignore the
first vent and go into the second vent.
Head West, watch out for the big dino, and go into
the next room.
Travel to the other end of this room to get to the
room with the safe.
Go to the West side of the room. Grab the wooden box
that's most North, and move it 5 squares North. Then
move it 1 square West.
Since the floor will become electrified one we turn
on the safe, grab the other wooden box, and move it
North 1 square to the other wooden box.
Now push the steel box in the direction of the switch
and the safe will open.
Head into the safe.
Grab the Machine Gun clips and the vest, then grab the
Sercurity Card which will make the place crawling with
small dinos.
Head back out.
Go through the door on the East side of the room.
And here comes a purple wave!
Small dinos will appear, take care of them, and
continue to the other end of the room, and go through
the door.
Head East, but watch out for the bomb spurting plants
along the way. Go in the South door.
Head into the middle of the room, kill the dino, and
open the safe for a Slow-mo bomb. As soon as you grab
that, small dinos will come down like rain, so beware.
Head through the door on the East side.
Head down the stairs that lead to the South, there
are small dinos on the way, so watch out (you can
ignore them actually). Now, enter through the door.
And here's a rhinosaurous type dinosaur!
I recommend firing that Slow-mo bomb you got earlier
and using your Gernade Launcher, there's also a vest
behind the desk if you need it.
Kill the rhino dino and the level is finished.

Stage 5 (Password: LBKVRG):
___________________________
Yes, this is the same room as the one you killed the
rhino dino in the stage earlier.
First go up to the cabinet, and treat yourself to some
Gernades (who puts gernades in a cabinet...?).
Then head through the door at the South side.
Sonia loves to torture you doesn't she? This type,
you have to look for the Blue Key Card. Oh yeah, here
comes a time distortion (AKA the purple wave), and
the only thing that has changed is the addition of a
hug log blocking your way. Needless to say, move the
box next to the log, and jump over it. Then head to
the South side, where Sonia will tell you that the
power is out, and enter through the door.
As soon as you go through, a big, ugly dinosaur will
attack you, kill it. Go to the cabinet for a Machine
Gun clip. Then go to the desk to the South for some
Shotgun ammo. Note that this is the room with the
safe that you have to come back to.
Now go through the door of the East side of the room.
First, note that there are two bomb plants in this
room, one you can see as soon as you enter the room,
then one of the computers, they will regenerate over
time, so watch out.
Now, go down into the hole, and grab the Vest, if you
need it.
Then push the brown steel box that's the most West,
all the way West, then all the way North. Then push
one of the other brown steel boxes all the way West.
Push the last box all the way East, then all the way
North.
Now go back up to where the gray steel boxes are (use
that box as a stepping stone).
Push the one that's the most North to the North, then
push it to the East.
Now, get rid of the bomb plant on the computers, then
go and push the last gray steel box North, then East.
Walk around the computers and push that brown steel
box across the computers and onto the switch that's
on the West side of the room.
Now head to the East side of the room and go through
that yellow door.
First, go North, behind the big triangle thing is a
Slow-mo bomb. Then, go South, next to the other
triangel thing are gernades. Go to the shelve for
Machine Gun clips, Vest, gernades, and Shotgun ammo.
Now go through the door on the East.
Watch out for the bomb plants, and head to the other
end of the room, grab the Machine Gun clip on the
way. As soon as you enter the clearing, dinos will
appear, kill them all, or else the door won't open.
Now enter the door that you didn't come in from.
As soon as you enter, say hi to the big dino and the
small one, then climb up the ladder.
Now, here's two extra things that you can do, which
I don't recommend doing if you're low on health:
#1: Take the wooden box, put it all the way North,
then all the way East. Go through the yellow door.
Grab the Gernade Launcher from the guy on the
ground. Go to the North side of the room to climb
up the ladder, but before doing this, I recommend
you use a Slow-mo bomb, since there is a bomb
plant right next to the ladder. Kill the small dinos
and move the brown steel box right next to the big
one. Use the boxes as a staircase to go up to the
higher level.
Head South for Shotgun ammo. Head North for a Vest
and Machine Gun clips.
Now get out of this rooms.
#2: Go up the staircase, (bomb plants!)and up the
ladder to the vent, watch out because there's alot
of small dinos. Go into the first opening.
Small dinos everywhere!
Grab the vest, and Red Bomb.
Head back into the vent, and go out the South
opening.
END OF EXTRA!
Anyways, head up the staircase, and through the
door on the South side.
Power cell rolling time!
First, go to the South of the wooden box and push
it 2 squares North. Then move it 1 square West.
Now push the Northern power cell East, then North.
Next move the wooden box West 3 squares, then South
1 square. Push the last power cell North then West.
Be perpared for a way of small dinos.
Get out of the room.
Get back to the room with the safe.
You can do this the long way (head through every
room until you get back to that one) or you can do
this the short way. Don't do the short way if you're
very low on health
The short way:
Head up the ladder (do this quickly, or you get
killed by the bomb plants, or you can kill them
first, but after that hurry up of they come back).
If you didn't do Extra #2, there will be alot of
small dinos, and I mean alot.
Head all the way North, ignore the first opening and
then go through the opening to the East. And through
the magic of shortcuts, you're in the room with the
safe!
For those of you that took the long way, head up the
steps.
Now, for all of you, move the wooden box so that it's
East of the switch, and push the steel box onto the
switch. And watch as the safe opens.
Obviously go into the safe and grab the security
card.
Get out of the safe, and note that there is another
Machine Gun clip in the shelf.
Now go through the North side door, jump over the log
and continue North, into the first room of this
stage.
Head into the yellow door.
Open the double doors, go in. Press the switch.
And that's the end of this stage.
