Chris Benoit, the Canadian Crippler, started off his career by wrestling all
over the world. He wrestled in indy leagues in Canada, Mexico, Japan
& Germany before his professional career started. In 1993, he was signed by
WCW, but the deal only lasted a year and he just played a jobber. A year
later, the WWF signed up Benoit and similar to the WCW deal, he played a
jobber and quickly disappeared. In 1995 he went over to ECW and that is
wherehis "Crippler" nickname came from, he became known for his techical and
submission skills and would cripple his oppnents. This kind of sucess brought
him another WCW deal, where he became part of the "Four Horseman" stable. As
a result of this sucess, Benoit became a very predominant midcarder. In 2000,
Benoit won the WCW Championship, but was stripped off it later due to
backstage problems. Benoit then requested to leave WCW and did, the WWF
signed him up. Since then, Benoit has become a very successful midcarder in
the WWE and is on the verge of becoming a huge superstar.
