Hello, and welcome to this, my first half-decent in-depth guide! The aim of
this guide is nothing that is extremely relevant, but is a fun little addition.
If you've ever gotten a game over (or looked at the high score screen), you'll
notice that the names have a certain rank under them, like, "Admiral," or,
"Fleet Commander." This guide will show you the amount of points necesary to
obtain these different ranks. More on this is explained in section 2.01.
On a bit more of a personal note, most of you who are reading this saw the...
previous version. Anyone who knows me knows that I think that the Rogue Leader
guides are my ahsolute worst. So, to those people who chastised me, if I
flamed you back, I'm sorry. I'll make good on it in the end.

This re-written guide is dedicated to the great TurnDragoZeroV2G. He is one of
the few members of the Rogue Leader message board who has ever quite forgiven
me (then again, he never thought ill of me for it in the first place!). He's
extremely hilarious, and makes getting on AIM all the better. Drago, you rock.

II. Rankings

On the surface, there seems to be no points to be earned in the game.
Obviously, there are, or this guide wouldn't exist! The way it works is thus:
bronze medals that you earn from performing very well in missions give you
three points. Silver medals give you six points, while gold medals, awarded
for outstanding performance in the mission, award you a whopping TEN points!
These medals don't add up, though. Let's say you go through Death Star Attack,
and get a bronze medal the first time. The next time through, you grab a
silver medal. These don't add up to make nine points. Instead, you get the
six points for the silver medal. So keep this in mind. Without further ado,
here is the chart!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Point Range | Rank |
|------------------------------|------------------------------------------|
| | |
| 0-6 points | Trainee (this is how you begin the game) |
| 7-10 points | Cadet |
| 11-15 points | Ensign |
| 16-24 points | Officer |
| 25-35 points | Lieutenant |
| 36-42 points | Flight Leader |
| 43-50 points | Captain |
| 51-60 points | Squad Leader |
| 61-70 points | Gold Leader |
| 71-80 points | Major |
| 81-90 points | Commander |
| 91-109 points | Colonel |
| 110-129 points | General |
| 130-139 points | Line Admiral |
| 140-149 points | Fleet Admiral |
| 150 points | See below, as both are required |
| +Complete Tatooine Training | Allied Commander |
| 150 points | See below, as all three are required |
| +Complete Tatooine Training | See below, as all three are required |
| +Clear Ace Mode | Galactic Allied Commander |

What do I mean by this? Well, back in the day, when the board was at its
prime, people would put things in their signatures relating to the game. Some
are still there. They would be stuff like, "Rogue 13," or, "Rogue Leader."
How do you determine which you are? Why, by looking at this chart, of course!
---------------------------------------------------
| Rank | Requirements |
|----------------|----------------------------------|
| | |
| Rogue Squadron | Complete "Strike at the Core" |
| Rogue 15 | 1 Gold Medal |
| Rogue 14 | 2 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 13 | 3 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 12 | 4 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 11 | 5 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 10 | 6 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 9 | 7 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 8 | 8 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 7 | 9 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 6 | 10 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 5 | 11 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 4 | 12 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 3 | 13 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 2 | 14 Gold Medals |
| Rogue 1 | 15 Gold Medals |
| Rogue Leader | 15 Gold Medals and 15 Ace Medals |
---------------------------------------------------
The basic formula is to subtract the number of Gold Medals you have from 16.
The only rule is no cheating. Ever. This includes passcodes and cheating
devices. Obviously, passcodes that do not effect gameplay can not be counted
against you such as the Music Hall and the Art Gallery.

III. FAQ
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
I would hope you know what goes here. Yep. You know it. Unfortunetly, I do
not.
Email me with a good question, pretaining to the subject, and I'll put it
here.
===============================================================================
Question #1: The Death Star Attack gold is very hard! Are all the other golds
this hard?
Answer #1: No. In fact, you should start with another gold.
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
Question #2: When people post on the message boards, I see things like "DSA"
"ISA", etc. What do these stand for?
Answer #2: They're the acronyms for the levels.
------------------------------------
| Actual Level Name | Acronym |
|------------------------|-----------|
| | |
| Death Star Attack | DSA |
| Ison Corridor Ambush | ICA |
| Battle of Hoth | BoH |
| Prisons of the Maw | PotM |
| Razor Rendezvous | RR |
| Vengeance on Kothlis | VoK |
| Imperial Academy Heist | IAH |
| Raid on Bespin | RoB |
| Battle of Endor | BoE |
| Strike at the Core | SatC |
| Death Star Escape | DSE |
| Asteroid Field | AF |
| Triumph of the Empire | TotE |
| Revenge on Yavin | RoY |
| Endurance | Endurance |
------------------------------------
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
Question #3: When you unlock a secret level, you have to buy it or whatever,
correct? But say I have 110 points and I bought Death Star
Escape. I go down to 90 points. Will my rank also go down to
Commander again?
Answer #3: Nope. If you think about it, that would be impossible, as you need
to use points to get points, if you catch my drift.

Version 1.0 (5/28/02): I created the guide, and won't update again unless I get
a correction e-mail, or a _GOOD_ question.
Version 1.1 (5/29/02): I took away the, "What's new?" section, because all it
did was restate this. I changed the "Message Board
Ranks" section to FAQ, and added that in there. I also
revised the Rogue requirements.
Version 1.2 (5/30/02): One very, _VERY_ minor correction: foolio14 wished for
me to remove his Email address.
Version Final (7/03/02): I added some corrections, and submitted it as the
final version.
Version Final (7/15/02): I added some ASCII art.
Version 2.0 (7/25/02): Dropped my email address in favor of a message board.
Version 3.0 (9/16/03): Re-wrote and re-organized this thing, and I'm proud of
it now. Put my email address back in there.
Version 3.1 (9/19/03): Added a clause in to the copyright, thanks to the great
Eric/AboveAverage.

Alright, just the obvious stuff here. Email me if you have:
-Questions NOT answered here
-Contributions to the guide
-Praises (like that'll happen)
-The date the world's supposed to end in 2004 (it was May 23 this year, I
think)
-And finally, hatemail, which should be sent to
[email protected]
Don't email me if you have:
-Questions answered here
-Grammar issues

-Foolio14 for thinking that my medal requirements FAQ was something like this,
thus giving me the idea of doing this.
-Nairb10 for coming up with the message board ranking system, and a few minor
errors.
-TurnDragoZeroV2G for reminding me that it was Nairb10 who came up with the
system, and revising a part of the FAQ.
-CJayC, for making the greatest gaming website ever.
-AboveAverage, for the extra part of the copyright notice. He wasn't on AIM, so
I hope he doesn't mind (if you do, Eric, just tell me, and I'll remove it).

I realize this guide does nothing more than show you a few secrets to the game,
but I do hope you enjoyed this. And again, if you saw that atrocious version
from before, I'm sorry. As said, I intend to rewrite all of them. Anyway,
until the next guide, adios (yes, I know there's supposed to be an accent
there, but not everyone's computer can read it).
