===================================DISCLAIMER==================================
I have decided not to allow websites other than Gamefaqs (www.gamefaqs.com),
IGN (faqs.ign.com), Gamerhelp (www.gamerhelp.com) & Gamespot (www.gamespot.com)
to host my FAQs from now on.
Please don't ask, because I will not grant permission. It's just that too many
sites don't keep their version of my FAQ up to date which makes for a lot of
hassle in my mailbox.
So if anyone sees this FAQ on any site other than those mentioned above, please
let me know and I will take care of the situation, thanks.
Just to make things crystal clear for some people, this FAQ is not to appear
anywhere at the following URLs:

(B) INTRODUCTION
###############################################################################
Basically this guide is meant to clear up a lot of the confusion about
unlocking the secrets in this game.
There are a few things that can be unlocked in this game, first there are new
costumes, second there are new game modes, third there are some new weapons,
and finally a few extra things can be unlocked.
###############################################################################
(C) COSTUMES
###############################################################################
Bricklayer J. Gastronomy
Complete the game once on any difficulty to get access to the first extra
costume for that character. You will receive a closet key (IN THE ITEM STORAGE
BOX) which can be used to open a door in the 1F mansion. The door is actually
a large painting and it's in the backroom of the room where you get the 1F map.
Once inside the room just find the clothes that you can try on and do exactly
that.
If you complete the game on any difficulty a second time for the same character
you will get access to a second extra costume. Go to the same room and use the
same key and you should be able to try on different clothes.
###############################################################################
(D) GAME MODES
###############################################################################
===============
Hard Difficulty
===============
To unlock this difficulty mode, simply beat the game on any difficulty, in any
amount of time.
===============
Once Again Mode
===============
To unlock this mode, simply beat the game on any difficulty, in any amount of
time. This mode is really a way to keep playing new games while unlocking more
features.
==================
Real Survival Mode
==================
In this mode auto-aim has been disabled, so you must aim manually. Also the
item boxes are not linked to one another, which means if you put an item in a
box you can only get it back from THAT BOX. As a result of this you can check
the contents of the boxes on the map screen by pressing A and scrolling through
them.
To unlock Real Survival mode beat Once Again mode on normal or hard difficulty
with either character.
====================
Invisible Enemy Mode
====================
In this mode (not surprisingly) all enemies are invisible, and yes this
includes the bosses. To make matters worse the auto-aim has been disabled, so
you must aim manually.
You can unlock this mode in one of two ways:
1. Beat Real Survival mode with any character in any amount of time.
2. Beat Once Again mode on normal or hard difficulty with both characters.
###############################################################################
(E) WEAPONS
###############################################################################
============
Samurai Edge
============
This gun looks like a pistol and fires fairly quickly in 3-shot bursts, it has
unlimited ammo.
In order to unlock this gun, beat Once Again mode in under 5 hours on normal or
hard difficulty.
If you already have the rocket launcher unlocked then you will start with the
gun in your item storage box, otherwise you will start with it in your
inventory.
===============
Rocket Launcher
===============
This gun is basically the same as the one you use in the game normally, except
it looks totally different, has infinite ammo and can be used on any enemy. It
will kill any enemy (that can be killed) with one hit.
To unlock this weapon, beat Once Again mode in under 3 hours on normal or hard
difficulty.
You will start with the weapon in your inventory.
###############################################################################
(F) EXTRAS
###############################################################################
================
New Title Screen
================
To unlock a different title screen for the game simply beat the game once.
====================
One Dangerous Zombie
====================
This zombie will follow you in parts of the mansion when unlocked and if you
attack him in any way (including defense items) he explodes and you die.
In order to unlock him beat Once Again mode once with each character on normal
or hard difficulty.
==========================
Message From Shinji Mikami
==========================
To see a really inspirational message from the creator of the Resident Evil
series beat invisible mode on any difficulty in 5 hours or less.
===============
Costume Designs
===============
To see a number of character costume designs (both used and not used) beat
invisible mode on any difficulty in 5 hours or less.
###############################################################################
(G) GRENADE LAUNCHER GLITCH
###############################################################################
This is a big one, this trick allows you to have infinite ammo (basically) for
the grenade launcher. This weapon is only in Jill's game, so you will only be
able to do this trick with Jill.
I will try my best to explain the trick as clearly as possible, because I still
see some people that are having trouble with it.
Before you even begin the trick MAKE SURE you have the grenade launcher, it's
loaded with ammo (which can have 0 shots left), and you have a different kind
of ammo separate.
1. Go to an item storage box and put ALL your items in it.
2. Take out the grenade launcher and put it in the top left corner of your
inventory.
3. Take out the grenade ammo (incendiary rounds are preferred because they can
burn zombies, so you don't need kerosene) and put it in the top right corner
of your inventory.
4. Close the item box, and EQUIP the grenade launcher. (*IMPORTANT* People
usually forget to do this!)
5. Open the item box and move the cursor right to the ammo in your inventory,
press A twice. The ammo should move to the item storage box. (*IMPORTANT*
The way I have described this step implies that the ammo is placed in the
default slot in the item storage box, the slot that it starts at when you
first open the box. DO NOT put the ammo in any other slot in the item
storage box or the glitch won't work!)
6. Move the cursor left twice so that it is highlighting the ammo that you just
put into the item storage box, then press A twice.
The ammo should now be in your grenade launcher and you should have A LOT
more rounds loaded into it than before.
7. Close the box, now you should have around 240 shots.
8. Continue the game as normal.
###############################################################################
(H) NOTES
###############################################################################
The hand-to-hand combat feature that you may have seen being used in the game
in early pictures or movies was NEVER intended to be in the final version of
the game, and therefore is NOT in the game.

(I) EXPERIMENTAL
###############################################################################
For a little while now I've had a paypal link in all my FAQs at the very bottom
here. Mainly as a small experiment since a few other FAQ authors have also had
the same idea.
I had a few people email me before I put this link in because they wanted to
send money, so it's here for those people.
For the record I've received about $87 (which works out to a bit more in
Canadian lol) last I checked, so I've been getting cases of pop and making some
excellent progress on a few FAQs.
If you don't want to send money or can't then send me an email, it's nice to
hear what people thought about my work and there's always room for improvement.
My email address is fecalord (AT) gmail (DOT) com, and the paypal address is
listed below.
For those that want to contribute, you can use paypal at the following address:

Many thanks, and I hope you continue to use my work!
