I. Introduction
===============
This is an FAQ for Resident Evil 0. Don't mix it up with a walkthrough/FAQ.
This is simply an FAQ. It answers the most frequently asked questions about
this game. Many people may wonder why only write an FAQ. Well the answer is
simple. These guides are easy to read and search. Unlike a full FAQ where
everything is described in vivid detail, and FAQ is usually spoiler-free, and
tells you exactly what you need to know.
The best way to use this guide is to use the search function in your Internet
browser. That way you can quickly find the place you're having trouble with.
Every question that someone could have in the game is answered in here. I,
however, do not tell you when to save (except for on the train), or what
enemies to kill (other than bosses). That's because I feel like that's a
decision the player should make. If you think it's best to run from an enemy,
do so. If you think it's best not to save, then don't save. That part of the
game is left open to you.

II. The Train
=============
Q. I'm in the train, but don't know what to do next.
A. Start to walk to the front of the train. You'll encounter three zombies in
the next car. Kill them and continue to the front of the train.
Q. I'm at the front of the train, and nothing is happening...
A. Examine the body.
Q. These dogs keep killing me. How do I kill them?
A. Stand your ground and don't move. As a dog comes jumping towards you,
shoot it. They take two handgun bullets to die.
Q. Now I need more bullets and herbs. Where do I get them?
A. Enter the cabin nearest to where you met Billy. Inside is a green herb and
handgun bullets as well as a typewriter so you can save.
Q. Do I need anything else before I leave?
A. Make sure you grab all of the items out of the two cabins. You can leave
the ink ribbon behind, though. Since there is only one ave point in the
cabin, there is no reason to carry it around with you.
Q. Where is Billy?
A. He's at the back of the train. Head back there to find him.
Q. How do I kill this zombie?
A. You don't. Run back dowwnstairs, and Billy will come to save the day.
Q. Who is that robed man?
A. Keep on playing and you'll find out :)
Or you could just skip to the general FAQs section where most of the story
plot is clarified.
Q. Billy just killed the zombie, but now I'm stuck! What do I do next?
A. Go to the back of the car without Billy in your party, and climb up the
ladder. Connect the cables, and you'll be pushed down into a locked room.
Q. Oh great! Now Rebecca is stuck. I found a key, but can't do anything with
it.
A. Send the key up the lift, and have Billy retrieve it in the kitchen. This
key unlocks the locked door in the front car. Run up there, and make sure you
kill the zombies on your way there.
Q. Where us the kitchen?
A. Go downstairs. It is the automatic door that opens right by the stairs.
Q. I have the key, but where do I use it?
A. Go to the first car and use it on the locked door.
Q. What items do I need inside this room?
A. There is a herb, but it can stay unless you are in serious need of health.
Open the closet and grab the briefcase, then drop it. You'll need it later,
but not now. Now take the train map.
Q. Where do I go from here?
A. Flip the switch by the door to reveal a ladder leading to the second story.
Q. I'm in the cabin upstairs. What do I need?
A. Make sure you grab the hunting gun, and ammo for both it and your handgun.
You can come back for the rest later.
Q. Where do I find the ice pick?
A. Outside of the bar, and to the right of the door is the ice pick. You'll
need it.
Q. How do I kill this giant scorpion?
A. Equip the hunter's gun, and run up to it. Aim down and shoot. It will
occasionally knock you back, but Billy has a high tollerance for pain, and it
will barely effect him. Four or five direct hits with the hunter rifle will
take care of him. Don't forget to grab the panel opener on your way down.
Q. What do I do with the ice pick?
A. Send it to Rebecca.
Q. Where do I use the panel opener?
A. Have Rebecca and Billy meet up again, and use the panel opener in the
corner of the kitchen by the refridgerator.
Q. What do I do with the gold ring?
A. Combine it with the briefcase.
Q. How do I release the hookshot?
A. Have Rebecca hold down on the lever while Billy retrieves it.
Q. Where do I use the hookshot?
A. Go to the car with the open window and stairs. Face the stairs and use the
hookshot.
Q. What do I do with the jewelery box?
A. Open it and combine the silver ring with the briefcase, then open the
briefcase.
Q. Do I need the hookshot anymore?
A. Not now. Drop it.
Q. It has been a while since I've saved.
A. You're right. Go save!
Q. Why can't I enter the front door in the first car? I have unlocked it!
A. You need to have both players in your party.
Q. Where is the magnetic card?
A. It's on the table in the very front car. Grab it and run all the way to
the back of the train.
Q. Do I need to kill all of these zombies?
A. No. Just shoot them down so you can run past them

III. Training Facility
======================
Q. This is quite a big place. What do I do first?
A. Well first you should save. Then head through the double doors by the
typewriter.
Q. What do I need in the storage room?
A. Grab the shotgun and black statue.
Q. Where do I use the black statue?
A. Put it on the scales in the upstairs of the main hall.
Q. Where do I find the crank handle for the library?
A. Look in the crow room, which is off of the upstairs in the main hall.
Q. How do I work the crank?
A. Have Rebecca stand on the lift, as Billy works the crank.
Q. How do I get Billy up to this big room with the clock chains?
A. Run down the stairs and unlock the door. Then have Billy enter the
door via the upstairs part of the main hall.
Q. What do I do with the white statue?
A. Put it on the scales in the upstairs of the main hall.
Q. But the scales aren't balanced!
A. That they are not. Remember, pateince is a virtue.
Q. How do I get the item under the cage?
A. Have Billy wind the chain, and have Rebecca retrieve the item.
Q. A big centipede took Rebecca! How do I get her back?
A. This is one of the easier boss battles. Simply shoot the thing with the
shotgun until it dies. It should take about five or six bullets.
Q. I am out of bullets! Where do I get more?
A. Run down the stairs and go to the room on your left. There should be
shotgun and handgun bullets in there as well as a gernade launcher. However,
you do not need the gernade launcher right now.
Q. Where do I use the red facility key?
A. Use it on the red motif doors. The first one is inside the room beside the
typewriter in the main hallway. The second red motif door is in the same
hallway the library door is in. After unlocking both doors, throw away the
key.
Q. In the first red motif door, what items do I need?
A. Grab the lighter fluid.
Q. And...
A. And combine it with Billy's lighter.
Q. In the second red motif door, how do I retrieve that glistening object?
A. Have Billy put the end table to the deer, and jump up onto it.
Q. How do I open that locked door in the library?
A. Light up the candle next to the door.
Q. Now what?
A. Move the bookshelf that's sticking out. Take the book of good and open it.
Combine the angel wings with the white statue.
Q. A needle? What do I do with a needle?
A. Go back to the room where Rebecca was lifted up to. It's the room above
the library. Use the needle on the clock.
Q. What time do I set the clock to?
A. 8:15
Q. Where do I find microfilm B?
A. Look in the room upstairs in the main hall that was just unlocked.
Q. Where do I use the microfilm?
A. Go inside the door oposite of the typewriter in the main hallway, and enter
the very last door. Put the microfilm in the projector, and take the MO Disk.
Q. What's the point of the bathroom?
A. There are a few items in there. However, on the way out a zombie will
appear. It's probably best you stay clear of the bathroom.
Q. Where do I use the MO Disk?
A. Go to the room with all of the seats, and put the MO Disk inside the front
computer.
Q. How do I release the knight's swords?
A. Have on player press the 0 seat, and one character press the A seat.
Q. The computer told me to hit the switch on two other seats. What happened?
A. You are playing on normal or hard mode. This guide was written in easy
mode. Look at the picture you received in the projection room to figure out
what switches to press.
Q. What chess piece(s) do I move?
A. Move the white king down, down, down, right, up, up.
Q. What do I do with the book of evil?
A. Open it up
Q. And with the black wing?
A. Combine it with the black statue to balance the balance.
Q. How do I cure poison?
A. Use a blue herb.
Q. Where is the green chemical?
A. It's in the doctor's room and the end of this hallway. Have Rebecca put it
in her mixing kit.

IV. Facility Basement
=====================
Q. AHH!!! Spiders!
A. Don't worry. One blast from the shotgun will take care of these guys.
Q. How do I get into the vent?
A. Have Billy give Rebecca a lift, but make sure Billy keeps the shotgun!
Q. How do I solve this puzzle?
A. Flip the switches up, up, down, up, up.
Q. Where do I go to save Rebecca?
A. Go into the door that was just unlocked, and grab ammo. Now go back into
the main hall, and enter the double doors by the typewriter. Go downstairs
where the gas stopped spilling, and run down those stairs. Now run from the
monkies. Use the map to help you reach the room Rebecca is in. She is in the
door in the back of the room that is to the far right.
Q. How do I kill these monkies?
A. Don't kill any monkies yet. Simply run from them. You can kill them
later.
Q. More spiders!
A. Don't worry. These are the last group of spiders in the game.
Q. Where do I get the key for the locker?
A. Get the key from the steel door in the cave area with the spiders.
Q. How do I get that glistening object?
A. Press the red button and get ready for a good fight :)
Q. What is the combination to the case?
A. 385
Q. So how do I kill these monkies?
A. Equip Billy with the shotgun and control him. Every time a monkey comes
close to you, shoot it. This is rather easy after a while.
Q. In what order do I light the animal statues?
A. Deer, Wolf, Horse, Tiger, Snake, Eagle
Q. What do I need in these rooms?
A. Check the fireplace for the Unity Tablet. There is also a file that you
should read, and some ammo and herbs.

V. Training Facility Revisited
==============================
Q. Where is the blue motif door?
A. Go upstair in the main hall, and enter the door on your right. Now enter
the first door on your right, and it's in this room.
Q. What do I need in the first door on the right?
A. Grab the vise handle.
Q. What do I do with the piano?
A. Have Billy play it as Rebecca runs into the open passage. Have Billy play
it again to open the passage so Rebecca can get out.
Q. How do I get the obidience tablet?
A. Use the vise grip on the vise.
Q. Where do I use the battery?
A. Take it outside and use it on the lift control panel.
Q. What do I do with the crate?
A. Have Billy push it up against the piller with the final tablet on it.
Q. Where do I take the three tablets?
A. Take them to the large room where the centipede captured Rebecca and go
into the knight door. Put them inside the tablet panel, then go to the
lab!

VI. The Lab
===========
**NOTE** Make sure you grab everything you want to take to the lab now because
you'll probably never return to the training facility.
Q. How do I enter the church?
A. Have one character step on one of the corner stones in the small building
while the other one enters the church.
Q. Where now?
A. Go into the room on the right. Save and grab the ammo that you need, then
exit.
Q. How do I kill this giant bat?
A. Aim up with your shotgun and shoot it five times. It will fall after a few
moments after that fifth shot.
Q. How do I get up on the roof?
A. Use your hookshot.
Q. But it's back by the train!
A. Then go get it.
Q. Okay, I'm on the roof. Can I get rid of this hookshot now?
A. Not quite yet...
Q. How do I turn on the elevator?
A. Flip the circut breaker lever.
Q. How do I get to the next story?
A. Use your hookshot in the reference room.
Q. NOW can I get rid of my hookshot?
A. Sure.
Q. What do I need in this room?
A. A map and a leech capsule. Exit into the hallway.
Q. Should I press that button?
A. Probably.
Q. But that unleashed a zombie!
A. Good thing Rebecca is still down there.
Q. Where do I get the green chemical?
A. After Rebecca kills the zombie, a gas container should be sitting there in
the hallway.
Q. How do I form the stripping agent?
A. Combine the red and green chemicals.
Q. What do I do with the leech container?
A. Send it to Rebecca.
Q. And...?
A. And combine it with the chemicals you just made and use it on the green
door.
Q. Okay, now I have a green leech...
A. Send it up to Billy.
Q. What's this sterilizing agent?
A. Go to the gas chamber, and use it on the control panel to clear the room of
poisonous gas.
Q. What do I do with the dial?
A. Send it to Rebecca.
Q. What do I do with it now?
A. Have Rebecca put it on the door that is missing a dial.
Q. What's the combination?
A. 4, 8, 6, 3
Q. Is there anything else I should get [as Billy]?
A. Go retrieve your hookshot.
Q. Again?
A. This is the last time. I promise.
Q. How do I get Billy down here?
A. Pull the lever to move the ladder.
Q. How do I get up into the control room?
A. Use the hookshot in the corner of the room.
Q. What do I use in this room.
A. Put the output reg. coil and input reg coil into the control panel.
Q. What happened to the power?
A. The output reg. coil came out. Go put it back in then hop on the train.
Q. Is that a magnum that corpse is holding?
A. Yes.
Q. Should I pick it up?
A. Knock yourself out.

VII. The Factory
================
Q. Where do I go?
A. Go up the stairs and down the lift.
Q. What do I do with the key?
A. Go into the save room, and put it inside the keyhole.
Q. Do I need any items from this area?
A. After talking to Enricho, pick up the elevator key.
Q. The lift doesn't work anymore!
A. Use the key you just picked up on the elevator.
Q. How do I kill Tyrant?
A. Use your shotgun, and just keep shooting. He will go down after about
seven bullets. If you run out of shotgun ammo, take out your magnum.
Q. What floor do I want to go to?
A. The fourth floor.
Q. How do I solve that damn Dam puzzle?

A. 1. Move the metal crate parallel to the ladder.
2. Have Rebecca rotate the gate right.
3. Move the top crate all of the way to the left.
4. Move the middle crate to the top, and in front of the drain.
5. Move the metal crate to the opposite wall.
6. Have Rebecca rotate the gate left.
7. Move the crate in front of the drain to the bottom.
8. Have Rebecca rotate the gate left.
9. Move the crate in front of the other two.
10. Fill the tank with water.
Q. What do I do with this wheel?
A. Go back to the hallway outside of the recreation room, and use it on the
locked door.
Q. Where is the red chemical?
A. Go up the ladder and examine the red gas tank.
Q. Tyrant? Again?
A. That's right, but this time you have Billy. Equip yourself with a shotgun,
and Billy with a handgun and fire away. He should only hit you once or twice
at the most.
Q. Where is the motherboard?
A. After killing Tyrant, press the green button to reveal a ladder. Climb up
it to retrieve the motherboard.
Q. Where do I use the motherboard?
A. Go back into the room prior to Tyrant, and put it in the control panel.
Q. How do I use the gandola?
A. Have Rebecca get inside it.
Q. How do I lower the floodgate for Billy?
A. Have Rebecca turn the lever.
Q. Ahh! A giant frog!
A. Don't worry. Just run from it. Don't even pay any attention to it.
Q. Where is the industrial water?
A. Walk upstairs by the gas tank, and it is sitting on a nearby table.
Q. I just got a battery, but it's out of juice. What do I do?
A. Grab the industrial water. Get the nearby blue chemical and mix it with
the red chemical to form sulferic acid. Mix the industrial acid and
sulferic acid to form battery fluid. Combine that with the battery.
Q. Where do I use the battery?
A. On the forklift.
Q. Where do I use this keycard?
A. Go back downstairs to the only locked door. Now prepare for a pretty
difficult fight...
Q. How do I kill the T-Virus infested Marcus?
A. Equip one character with a magnum and the other with a shotgun, and just
shoot away. It will eventually die.
Q. How do I open up that door?
A. Have Rebecca grab one shaft key, and have Billy grab the other. Now the
both of them must unlock the door together.
Q. I have saved and healed. Now what?
A. Now go activate the lift and get ready for the final battle.
Q. How do I defeat the Queen?
A. First fill it full of lead. After a good amount of ammo, the sun will
start to rise. It is weak against sunlight. Now Rebecca must open the
windows while Billy distracts the Queen. You do not have to shoot the
Queen now. Just make sure she doesn't kill Rebecca. Keep her away from
Rebecca until all four windows are open.
You just beat the game. Now relax and enjoy the ending.

VIII. Leech Game
================
Q. Who can carry what leeches?
A. Billy can carry blue leeches, and Rebecca can carry green leeches.
Q. Where is the Shotgun?
A. It is in the room behind the painting in the main hall where Rebecca was
attacked by monkies.
Q. Where is the Submachine Gun?
A. It is in the room behind the painting in the main hall where Billy gave
Rebecca a boost into the torture chamber (where you find the Shotgun).
Q. Where is the Magnum?
A. The magnum is in the same place as the Submachine Gun. The two guns
appear randomly.
Q. Where is the knife?
A. It is through the double doors by the typewriter in the main hall. Once
you enter the room, it's right there on your left.
Q. So many places to go. Where do I go first?
A. It's probably best you go through the painting and grab the Submachine Gun
and Shotgun. Be prepared to kill many spiders, monkies, and zombies, though.
Q. Both Billy and Rebecca are almost dead, and I'm all out of healing items.
What should I do?
A. Exit through the front door in the main hall. No matter how many leeches
you have, just as long as you have one, you will be rewarded.
Q. How do I kill these monkies without the Submachine Gun?
A. Get the shotgun first, and blast them away with that.
Q. I'm all out of inventory spaces. What do I do?
A. Fill up your current guns with ammo, and drop the ammo. You can always
come back for it later. As you gather more leeches, you'll start dropping
more ammo and healing items.
Q. Where is each leech located at?

IX. General FAQs
================
***WARNING: This following FAQ contains spoilers that give away all of the
game's story. Do not read this unless you want some of the story clarified or
you have already beaten the game***
Q. Where does this game fit in with the other Resident Evil games?
A. Resident Evil 0 takes place 24 hours before Resident Evil 1. ALPHA Team in
Resident Evil 1 was sent out to search for the lost members of BRAVO Team, who
are the characters we see at the beginning of the game.
Q. What tie does Billy Coen have to Umbrella or STARS?
A. He isn't involved with either side. He is completely neutral. It just so
happened by chance that T-Virus infected dogs attacked the van transporting
Billy to Regarthorn Base.
Q. So how does Billy escape from the van?
A. When the dogs attacked the drivers, he managed to break apart his handcuffs
and escape. Exactly how he did it is unknown.
Q. What happens to Billy at the end of the game? Does he die?
A. At the end of the game, Rebecca takes Billy's dogtag, and will say that
he's dead. Billy just drifts off as quickly as he appeared. Will we ever see
him again? Who knows...
Q. Why was Billy going to be executed?
A. Billy and his platoon were in Africa to help settle down a civil war. His
commander ordered Billy and his troops to kill innocent civilians so that the
troops would not go away "empty handed".
Q. Did Billy kill them?
A. In his flashback, we see Billy pleading his commander not to kill them. We
can only assume that Billy is just the scapegoat, and he did not commit the
crime.
Q. What is "Progenitor"?
A. It is the first virus that Dr. Marcus created. Three months later, Spencer
founded Umbrella, and Marcus was asked to join where he could continue his
research of Progenitor.
Q. How does Progenitor relate to the T-Virus?
A. About a year and a half after Marcus discovered Progenitor, he mixed it
with leech DNA to create the T-Virus, also known as the Tyrant-Virus.
Q. How did Dr. Marcus die?
A. Albert and William had him executed.
Q. Who is the man in the white robe?
A. That is the revived Dr. Marcus who is seeking revenge on Umbrella by
unleashing the T-Virus.
Q. So Dr. Marcus originally released the T-Virus?
A. Yes.
