I. Introduction

Welcome to the Player Rating FAQ, written by Rashidi.  The purpose of
this FAQ is to update the ratings of the players in the game, to make
them as accurate as possible by taking multiple factors into account,
and to educate readers on MLB history.

Any updates to player ratings or major changes to the FAQ will be
listed in the Updates section.  Check it whenever a new version comes
out.

VI. The ratings

Ratings will be done in descending order, from highest overall, to
lowest overall.  This should work best, because the top players are the
ones most of you will want to edit first.  Doing it by team is bad,
because players change teams a lot, especially in the offseason.

If you want to find the ratings for specific players, Ctrl + F is your
best friend.  Seriously.  If you ever complain about not being able to
find something in an FAQ, it means you are computer illiterate, because
Ctrl + F is very easy.  Press the Ctrl key.  Hold it.  Then press F.
Then enter the name of something you are searching for.  Make sure you
can spell it correctly.

XIII. Questions and Answers

If you have any questions, I'll post it here (if it's a good question).

-----

Question: Do you have the appearances for CAPs?

Answer: No, I don't deal in appearances.  As long as Shane Spencer is
putting up numbers similar to what he's capable of, then I could care
less if he's 7 feet tall and asian.

XIV. Credits

CJayC - For putting this on his site, GameFAQs, the greatest video game
website in existence.

CyricZ - I tend to model the layouts of my FAQs after the style of this
legendary moderator/FAQ author.  This one is no exception.

idiotontheloose - For compiling and providing useful tables on how to
calculate hitting ratings.  I don't follow his exact system, but I do
compare to see what his ratings would be in comparison to mine.

Kao Megura - Also known as Chris MacDonald.  This legendary FAQ writer
tragically passed away recently.  He is a big reason why GameFAQs is
what it is today, and he will be missed.

Rashidi - Duh.

Baseballreference.com - Every player, every season, every stat, great
website.

ESPN.com - For having useful and informative statistical databases, and
for having accessible scouting reports on most major players.

Foxsports.com - For having useful fantasy news, and detailed
transactions.

USAToday.com - For having in-depth minor league stats.

All the GameFAQs users who gave their constructive input - They know
who they are or aren't.
