-= 1. What's New -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Version 1.0 (11/5/02): This is the fully completed version of this FAQ.
Everything is now covered within this file, so I can call it quits now.
Version 0.9 (11/2/02): More mini-game information has been added to the
guide. There are very few left to be added, but if you want to help me get
done that much quicker, send me information on the mini-games I don't have
(if it's a regular one, give me the Game Rules, Controls, and Advice as
stated in the game; if it's a Bowser one or whatnot, send me an overview of
it).
Version 0.8 (10/30/02): All of the regular game boards, including Bowser's
board, have been covered as of now. I am still missing a few mini-games, as
well as those in the Extra Room, but those will be in the next and maybe
final update!
Version 0.3 (10/27/02): The first version of this new FAQ. I have covered the
mini-games I have unlocked so far, as well as the first regular game board.
More to come in the next update!

-= 2. Introduction -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Back again nearly two years later, the fourth installment to the Mario Party
franchise is here for the Gamecube! This title is nothing new compared to the
previous ones in the series; however, this time there are 50+ brand new mini-
games to play, all new game boards, and much more! If you have played any of
the first three N64 versions of this series, then I would definitely
recommend you get this one as well. And even if you never played a Mario
Party game in your life, you should still purchase this game; it's well worth
the money!

Game Mode Information
=====================
Mario Party is divided into two different modes this time around: Story Mode
and Party Mode. In the Story Mode, there is some sort of story you're
following which involves playing on many game boards and trying to collect
the most Stars, and ultimately all the presents for your character. Here is
some general information on each mode:
Party Mode: You can play any of the regular 4-player boards here, with up to
4 human players.
Story Mode: Play through each of the regular 4-player boards; this is the
main area of the game.
Mini-Game Mode: Here, you can play any mini-games you have unlocked in the
regular gameplay modes. You cannot play a mini-game you
haven't unlocked.
Option Room: Change a variety of settings here.
Present Room: View the presents you have won in Story Mode here.
Extra Room: Play special mini-games and game boards not normally accessible
here. There are more games in here to be unlocked as you play
more.

-= 6. Story Mode Guide -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Pre-Game Settings
-----------------
Before you start Story Mode for the first time, there are a few settings you
must adjust before you play, including the player you wish to use, the
difficulty setting of the game, and if you want all mini-games or just the
easy ones. Those settings are kept until you complete Story Mode or if you
start a new file. Also, you play for 15 turns on each board in this mode.
Game Order
----------
In this game, there are 5 regular game boards to play on. You can play them
all in any order you want. Each board has its own guide, which you can figure
out by the name of each board. After the regular game is over, all the Stars
and Coins everyone has will be counted. If you win, you have to play a one-
on-one mini game against the board guide. Upon winning that game, you will
win a present that you can view in the Present Room.

Happenings: When you land on Happening Spaces located on portions of the
roller coaster track, the roller coaster will zoom through and
chase you. You will end up at either end of the track when it's
through. Also, next to both ends of the track are platforms that
Toad will sometimes be standing on. If you pay him, you can ride
the roller coaster and collect Coins by hitting other players on

Happenings: If you land on any of the Happening Spaces on the board, a Shy
Guy statue will ask if you want to make a fun wish or a sad wish.
Pick either, and the giant Shy Guy head in the north area of the
map will cry, creating a huge river dividing the board. The river

side is cut off.

==================
Difficulty: **
Blue Spaces: 43
Red Spaces: 4
Bowser Spaces: 3
Battle Spaces: 4
Happening Spaces: 2
Mushroom Spaces: 13
Warp Spaces: 4
Fortune Spaces: 3
Information: In the north end of the map, you may notice a bridge that seems
to disappear from time to time. If you pass a Boo before the
bridge, it may offer a ride on the graveyard train, depending on
if the Red Boos are around or not. If they're not around, you
can ride. When on the ghostly train, you can go over the pit if
the bridge isn't there.
Happenings: In the upper-right area of the board, there are only 2 Happening
Spaces. If you land on one, the Red Boos may appear or disappear.

Difficulty: **
Blue Spaces: 47
Red Spaces: 7
Bowser Spaces: 3
Battle Spaces: 3
Happening Spaces: 5
Mushroom Spaces: 16
Warp Spaces: 4
Fortune Spaces: 2
Information: In the middle of this area, there is a roulette table with
colored arrows signifying the 4 paths to be taken. The Goomba
that runs it accepts bribes of 5, 10, or even 20 Coins;
supposedly the more you pay, the better the chances of being
sent to the path with a Star on it. If the ball doesn't hit an
arrow, you get 20 Coins and the choice of any path you want. In
every quadrant is a die, and when you pass it, Goomba comes out.
He rolls a number on the dice, and you must roll higher than his
number. If you win, you get 10 Coins; if you lose, you go back
to start.
Happenings: In the north end of the board, there are 5 Happening Spaces you
can land on. If you get to one, you'll jump onto the board in the
background and ride a chip across the board, collecting Coins on
the way.
======================
Koopa's Seaside Soiree
======================
Difficulty: **
Blue Spaces: 43
Red Spaces: 3
Bowser Spaces: 4
Battle Spaces: 4
Happening Spaces: 13
Mushroom Spaces: 13
Warp Spaces: 2
Fortune Spaces: 4
Information: In the middle area, there are a couple of Koopa spaces you pass
by. When you do so, the Koopa will ask for 5 Coins towards
building the Koopa Kabana. The more money that's put into the
Kabana, the bigger/better the building he makes. On the left and
right sides of the board, there are intersections guarded by
monkeys in trees. When you come to this, the monkey will throw
out a banana and you'll be forced to move on it, randomly
slipping onto either path.
Happenings: In the middle area, there are Happening Spaces around the Koopa
Kabana. If you land on one, you'll have to pay the Koopa however
much was invested in the Kabana. When you do so, a wave will
knock it down and the investments will be reset to 0. There are
also several Happening Spaces situated next to docks around the
board. If you land on one, you can ride a dolphin across the
water to the other end of the board. You'll be able to jump over
a portion of the board, collecting a few Coins on the way.
=====================
Bowser's Gnarly Party
=====================
Difficulty: ***
Blue Spaces: 57
Red Spaces: 4
Bowser Spaces: 4
Battle Spaces: 4
Happening Spaces: 6
Mushroom Spaces: 16
Warp Spaces: 2
Fortune Spaces: 2
Information: In the middle of the stage, you will notice an intersection with
a stone bridge above the lava. Each time a player walks across
it, it crumbles a bit. When it's been walked over 3 times, it
crumbles and a new bridge appears going in the other direction.
Also, at a random spot on the map, you'll find Bowser sitting
there. If you pass by him while in Mega form, you will play a
mini-game against Bowser. Every so often, at the beginning of a
turn, Bowser may even turn all players Mini or Mega, so be
prepared!
Happenings: There are two areas on the board where there are Happening
Spaces; in the upper-right area and the lower-left area. If you
land on one, the giant statue will spit out fire and burn apart
one of your items!
============
Final Battle
============
Information: This final area isn't an actual game board, but an action stage
for you to play through in order to reach Bowser. It's a giant
red cube covered with lava and fire; if you fall into the lava,
you die immediately, so be careful! In the first section, you
have to jump across platforms floating above the lava, while
avoiding the spinning flames on each platform. In the second
area, there are 3 giant tiles with parts of Bowser Jr.'s face on
it. Ground pound them to slide them around and line up the
picture just right. Next, you'll have to get across more
platforms above the lava. Those are easy, so avoid the spinning
flames and go straight across to the final area. For the last
thing, you have to slide the panels around to line up the
picture of Bowser. In the final battle with Bowser, there are 5
switches around the room. Ground pound 3 of them and a
forcefield will appear for a moment. Trap Bowser inside one of
those forcefields and he will be damaged. Do this until you win.

out of and spin in the air. All of the shapes are the same,
except for one. You must pick the one that doesn't fit with the
rest, go under it, and press A. This can be tough because of how
fast the shapes spin. If you get 3 right before the opponent,
you win.
==================
Goomba's Chip Flip

Bowser Wrestling

the match begins, you have to shove your opponent off the edge
of the arena. Press A to start, then L and R alternatively to
shove your opponent. Take note of the meter at the top of the
screen, which shows your stamina. If you shove too quickly, your
stamina will drain and you'll become dizzy, giving the other guy
a chance to knock you off. Create a good pace and you'll be
fine. Every now and then, a mushroom will fall on the arena, and
if you get it, your stamina will be completely filled and maxed
out for a limited period of time.
============
Final Battle
============
==============
Panels of Doom
==============
Information: You and the opponent are placed atop several numbered platforms.
Each player rolls a dice, and whichever number is rolled, that
platform is gone! Whoever is the last one standing wins.
