Hello and Welcome to my F.A.Q. on creating a Team with "Create-A-Team" in
Madden NFL 06 for the XBOX. This guide can be used for all other versions
of the game EXCEPT PSP. The point of this guide to tell you how to build a
team in the Create-a-Team with minimal difficulties. I had difficulties at
first, and could find help, so I figured it all out on my own and decided
to make this guide. I try to answer all your questions, but if you have
good questions, my email can be found at the bottom.

Alright here we go. To start, I'd go to the Soundtracks and turn on only
songs you like because it's easier to work with good music. Anyway, On the
Main Menu, go to "Features". From here, go to "Create-A-Team" (hard, I know).
Select "CREATE NEW TEAM" (or a team you made if you wish to edit that team).
Now you're here.
Here is what each catagory is used for:
-Primary Color: Primary Color is the color of your team's logo and is the
default for your team's home uniform.
-Secondary Color: This is the background for your team's logo, and the color
of minor features on your uniforms
-Team Logo: Your teams Logo or Icon (Logo's Listed and Described Later)
-Team First Name: The "First Name" of your team. Ex: In "New England
Patriots", "New England" is the First name.
Team Name: The Main Name of your team. Ex: In "New England Patriots",
"Patriots" are the Team Name
-Abbreviation: The Shorthand for your teams name used for things like
save file, penalty flags, and such.
-City: The City your team plays from. Ex: "Detroit Lions" play from Detroit.
-State: The US State your team is from (50 states; Puerto Rico included; No
Washington DC/District of Colombia)
-Team Type: Where your team's strenghts and/or weaknesses(This is covered
in the next setion)
Here is a quick run through on how this would work. You pick your primary color
and can customize it to exactly the hue you want by adding any combination of
the 3 primary colors of light and the Brightness. Then you do the same thing
for the Secondary Colors. Then you enter the Team First Name by using their
little on screen keyboard which is all self-explanitory. Then you do the same
for the Team name. For Abbrev, You can only use 3 letters and they made
capital no matter what. Then you continue to type in your city name. Then you
use the d-pad and move left and/or right to choose a state. Then you pick
your team type from a list of types (about to be covered).

There are 8 Team types, I shall describe each one now:
Note: These numbers can changed by a a point or each way, these are
just the usually range.
Warning: Do NOT select Fantasy yet if you are following this guide
from start to finish because you'll get confused. If you want to
though, skip down to the Fantasy section.
Another Note: Unless you choose Fantasy, your team is all randomly
generated people with stats that fit the type you chose. These players
CANNOT be edited.

Overall: 83
Offense: 91
Defense: 75
Notes: Excels at the Passing Game, not so good with Run Plays.
Excels at Pass Defense, but not running game.
-All Madden
Overall: 95

create turnovers and such so offense can not have to go so far
to score.

Notes: As you'd think, the offense can move the ball very well
and score. The defense is really weak. This team relies on the
offense to score a lot to keep them above their foe.

Notes: You get to select all your players from actual NFL teams and
the free agent list. Therefore, the stats can vary immensely.(Covered
in much more detail later)

Well now we have our players all made up. Now you can move forward to the
Stadium designer. Here is the options in order:

Wow that was a lot wasn't it? Remember, pending on what features you
give your stadium, you can have cold games, hot games, or nice indoor
games. Also, Higher capacities make the crowd a lot louder.

Wow this part is very very very confusing, but simple once you get it down.
Since every section has "Home, Away, Alt Home, Alt Away" unforms, I'm going
ignore talking about them because it'd be a waste of space. This section is
more explaining that listing.
Note the 16 colors on the bar next your logo. The 1st 2 are your primary
and secondary colors. You choose the other colors later. Well if you
choose a color for something, you move left and right to all those
16 colors in the boxes. If you want a color that's not on there, move
over to a color you do not want, then hit A. Now select and/or modify
a color of your choice. This selected color will replace the color of
box you selected. Neat huh? Just remember this because I kept
accidentally changing the primary and secondary colors this way.
Helmet:
I prefer it to be the same on all uniforms but you can do what you want.
Start by selecting helmet color. BE CAREFUL not to change the primary
color, refer to the above paragraph. Then choose a Stripe Type (None,
Single w/ Logo, Single, Triple w/ Logo, Triple, Short, Short w/ Logo).
Now if you chose to have Stripes, choose their color. Now advance on to
the facemask color. Now from here, just design the helmet for the other
uniforms the same (or different if you like).
Jersey:
There are 4 Jersey types. #1 is solid with numbers on the front, back,
and shoulders. #2 has a thick strip on each shoulder. #3 Has the
shoulders a different color. #4 has stripes going down the sides.
Once you find the jersey you like, select it's color. Now pick the
number type. There are 4 types, but they aren't all that dazzling.
Number color is the color of the Numbers AND the Name of the player on
the back. Outline Color is the color outlining the numbers. Now if your
Jersey can use it, you can choose extra stripes and/or your team logo.
And if you have these stripes, you can choose their color. Once again,
repeat these for all your jerseys.
Pants:
There are no variety of pants. Start by picking the color. Then pick
between None, Single Stripe, Double Stripe, Triple Stripe, Short Stripe,
Wide Stripe, or Logo. Now if you have stripes, you can pick their color.
Now the belt color comes. The belt is very small but noticable if the
chosen color stands out enough. Now for the socks. Socks are always at least
half white. Your options though for sock stripes are None, Single, Double, or
Triple. Now you can pick one color for the sock stripe. If you have Double, the
inner stripes are white. If you have Triple, they are the color you picked for
the pants. Shoe Color is just black or white. Now repeat for all pants.

Here's the deal; Unless you choose fantasy, you cannot edit anyone on your team.
This upset me. So what you have to do is build a team by selecting any player
you want in the NFL for each position. Be warned though, if you pick too many
good players, your team will not be able to play in Franchise mode because
it's salary is just ridiculous.
Your team can have a max of 55 players and the cap Salary to allow use in
Franchise mode is $85.5 Million, so check you players salary if you want
a franchise. It's ok to have not so good players on your team. Also
you must a certain number of people at each position here are the requirements:
QB-3
HB-3
FB-1
TE-2
T-4
G-4
DE-4
DT-3
OLB-4
CB-4
FS-2
SS-2
P-1
WR-4
MLB-2
C-2
K-1
If you do the math, all those numbers add to 46. This means 9 extra spots
where you can add extra players. Example: You can have 3 Kickers if you
want, as long as you meet all the other player requirements are under
or at 55 players.
Like I said earlier, watch your salary. If you don't care about salary
and don't want a franchise, then just pick whoever.
My next point, if you want to make your own players, there are 2 ways
to do this. You edit real people on the real teams or free agents.
Once you do whatever you like to their stats and appearance, you can
put them on your fantasy team. If you don't want to do that, you can
"Create-A-Player" in the features menu and put him on the Free Agents
list (or any team really). That player can now be drafted on your
fantasy team as well. Remember, these players won't get as much
salary as actual players, but if you make them good enough they can
still be pretty pricey.

Q: Why did you make this guide?
A: It's a funny story. I had a dream about Vin Diesel having his own
football team named "Infinity". The stadium was the Apocalypse Bowl in
Armageddon, Texas. So I decided to make this team. I had a hard time
figuring out the system, but eventually got it. So I made this guide
to help others. By the way, my HB is Chuck Norris.
Q: How do I change the names of people on my roster is I did not choose fantasy?
A: You can't. I'm sorry but there just is no way you can, the game doesn't let
you.
Q: Can I have my Superstar on my created Team?
A: Once again no, sorry. You could recreate him using Create-a-Player but you
can't directly put him on there.
Q: Can I stick a created Playbook to a created Team?
A: Once again, No. Sorry. You can only select it each time after selecting your
team.
Q: Can I Create-A-Fan for my Created Team?
A: Nope
