WALKTHROUGH
o---------------------o
You can start off with Africa or North Pole first. Lets go with Africa first on
this one.
--Africa--
To start, don't bother going right. That river can't be jumped across and you'll
die from touching the water. Go left instead and go up the tree and watch out
for the coconut the monkey throws. Stomp it to get rid of it then jump onto the
the bird. You'll get the first crystal just before landing on the bird. The bird
actually carries you across the river and you can crouch to make it go down so
you can get the heart (if you are in easy mode). The difference between the easy
mode and hard mode is that there are less hearts to get in hard mode. Use the
heads of the gators to get into the trees and collect the second crystal above
the monkey. The next tree will have a crystal above that monkey too. Let the
bird carry you over the tree to another tree with another monkey and another
crystal above it. Use the gator heads to get past the river into the tree and
one last tree with a crystal over a monkey then use the gator heads one more
time to get past the river and land on the final crystal for this area.
Steer clear of the lions below an d most of the crystals will be within plain
sight among the trees. However, you are soon going to learn throughout the game
that you must stomp on a certain brand of enemies in some parts of the levels to
get crystals. In this case, some of the green hummingbirds give out crystals
upon their deaths. You need to gather nine crystals here.
The final part of Africa has you go up one side of the tree then down the other
side of the tree. Three of the six crystals are given upon killing three of the
monkey. The other three are in plain sight.
--North Pole--
Jump over the pit and watch out for the bag of trash that will fall from the
tree. You will have to kill the seals in order to get all six crystals in this
area of the North Pole. The second to last seal is the only one that doesn't
give you a crystal. It will instead give a boost over a wall you normally can't
jump over. The best way to kill a seal is not to really jump on them because of
the risk of a snowball hitting you when it's coming into formation. Wait for the
seal to throw one then get as close as possible to the seal without touching it
and kick it then move away to avoid the snowball then repeat. The only other
thing to watch out for is the fish popping out of the pits. Contact with the
water is fatal.
You will not die instantly from landing on a fishing hole although it causes a
hit of damage. There are seven crystals in this part of the level. The first one
can be gotten easy by jumping over the fish popping out the hole. Some of these
fish will give you a good boost if you land on them at the right time. There are
times where you can jump onto an ice block and get a boost to a crystal like the
time where you see a long fishing hole you can't normally jump across. You don't
have to get the crystals in order so it's best to stay near the top and collect
all crystal among the top then backtrack to collect the rest. Remember to use
the enemies you bounce off of for leverage.
The last area has eight crystals and it is safe to take a swim here. Just be
sure to watch out for snakes, fish, and jellyfish and you travel underwater.
The ice can hurt you too. You can kill the jellyfish for crystals by using a
bellyflop on them while swimming. Bellyflopping is sinking onto them from above
and it counts as a stomp. Two other crystals are located out of the water and
one is hidden under a snake and the other is located past a snake near the sea
floor on the lower right of the level.
--Asia--
There are only four cystals to get in this first part of Asia. Use the yellow
cans to get a boost into the air. Watch out for the samurais who toss out some
fireworks. The fireworks on the ground can hurt you but the ones that fly to
the ride can be used for riding. This is how you can reach the first crystal
that is blocked by a gong. Get a boost of a can then jump on a firework and ride
it to the other side to collect the crystal. The second crystal is at the top of
a can boost. The final two are at the end of the area. The first one is on top
and the other one is below it.
You can go for a swim in the next area. Some of the walls are actually false as
you can swim through them to get to crystals and other enemies. The clams are
harmless. Killing them will reveal crystals. There are eight in this area but
you got to deal with annoying piranha fish that chase after you. The flase walls
are distinguished by holes in their patterns. When you find that you can't make
the leap to the next part of land, that means you have to swim around to collect
the crystal there. There is one narrow passage that leads to a clam and crystal
but there is a piranha blocking your path. Beware of it as you get in and get
out.
You are inside a shogun temple. You got nine crystals to get. The best way to
find some are to kill the enemies who I assume are meant to be dragon costumes
but got designed poorly. These yield crystals upon death. Use balloons to reach
the others. It wouldn't be Asia without references to grasshoppers which some of
the enemies here are. Once you get all nine crystals you are then off to North
America.
--North America--
The cacti can harm you if touch them. No surprise there. There are nine crystals
to collect and the first one is at the bottom to the left of the first cactus.
Most are in plain sight but the others are gotten by killing the birds. Use the
smoke clouds to get a boost to some of them. The rolling cheeseball only hurts
you if you get run over but you can jump on it. Watch out for the smaller ones
that fall down when close.
The next area has three crystals. The screen automatically scrolls to the right
as Gargamel's cat, Azrael, gives chase. Don't let him get you. Jump over snails,
cacti, timbleweeds and pits to survive. The jumps get a little tricky. Once the
chase is over, you get all three crystals in one sitting.
You have nine crystals to get in this level. The green birds can give you a ride
with their feet. At the start, you'll want to fall to the left to collect the
first crystal. The little indians are the enemies that yield crystals upon their
deaths. There are several of them so that means several crystals to gather from
them.
--South America--
As a twist, this level has you traveling to the left. You have eight crystals to
collect in this part of the level. Killing the green birds will kill yield some
of them. Be patient as the elevator on the very left will move in a tricky lil'
pattern. The snake won't hurt you. You can swing on its tail to get through some
of the level. Watch out for rocks that armadillos spit. The final crystal is in
the upper right of the stage.
The next area has six crystals. It is wierd seeing fish pop out of the blocks
but I guess it is jumping out of the waterfall. All you got to do is really
climb
to the tp and collect the crystals as you see them. No enemies to kill for the
crystals here.
The final area has seven crystals. You need to kill the scorpions to get some of
them. Stay out of the lava at all costs and use the stalactites to grab onto so
you can safely get crystals not guarded by scorpions. The lava does help by
using smole clouds and rocks to rise from it to give you a boost.
--Australia--
The final level of the game. The first area has nine crystals to collect. some
but not all dragons yield crystals. What out for their nails that behave like
boomerangs. You shoould also watch for their tails that they swing. The other
dangers are snakes on some of the ropes.
The second are also has nine crystals. The enemies that yield crystals are the
kangaroos. Not all of them do so. In fact, the one on the very bottom left of
the level needs you to stomp on a kangaroo to get the crystal in that area. Also
beware of the gold nuggets that the green flying birds drop. Near the end of the
level, you'll need a boost from another kangaroo to get another crystal.
In the final area, you need three crystals and you can swing on the snake heads
here. Stay out of the bog or you are dead. You'll need careful jumps to get
through the bog. If you manage to get to the end, you'll get all three crystals
in one fell swoop.
Congrats you beat the game.
