This document was created for free use. Anyone who wishes to host this

2. - Photo?
==============================================================================

Photos are an extra feature in the DX version of Link’s Awakening. They serve
no purpose to the game/story. Just a fun little extra that was added in to
boost sales and show off the GBC's power.

There are a total of 13 Photos to obtain during the course of the game, only
12 of which can actually be obtained.

Please understand that this guide, while specific in it's instructions, is
intended for players with a general knowledge of the game.

4. - Photo Locations
==============================================================================

Title: Here Stands A Brave Man or Game Over
When: Right after getting the Roc's Feather.
Map: Placement: D8
Getting there: 3 screens South, 1 screen East of the Wind Fish's Egg.

How to get photo:

When you first talk to the Photographer, he will ask you to stand in front
of a curtain so he can take your picture.

If you go stand in front of the curtain, you get a picture of Link giving
the peace sign (Here Stands A Brave Man).

If you keep telling the Photographer 'No', you will get a picture of Link
beaten up in front of the curtain (Game Over).

You can only get one of these photos. Pick one.

Title: Ocean View
When: As soon as Marin starts following you.
Map Placement: P1
Getting there: 4 screens South of the Mabe Village Library (the cliff on
              the far left side of Toronbo Shores).

How to get photo:

Simply walk up to the edge of the cliff while Marin is following you. The
Photographer will take a picture of Link and Marin looking at the ocean.

Title: Heads Up!
When: As soon as Marin starts following you.
Map Placement: K1
Getting there: 1 screen to the West of Madam MeowMeow's House.

How to get photo:

Simply jump down the well while Marin is following you. The Photographer
will take a picture of Marin landing painfully on Link.

Title: Camera Hog
When: As soon as Marin starts following you.
Map Placement: J3
Getting there: 1 screen North of Marin & Tarin's House (the Rooster
              Wathervane).
How to get photo:

Simply walk up to the weathervane. The Photographer will want to take a
picture, but Tarin will push his way into it.

Title: [NAME] Discovers Ulrira's Secret!
When: After returning BowWow to Madam MeowMeow.
Map Placement: L2
Getting there: The house 1 screen South from Madam MeowMeow's house.

How to get photo:

Walk up to the window outside of Grandpa Ulrira's house. The Photographer
will walk up and take a picture of Grandpa Ulrira yapping away on the
phone.

NOTE: [NAME] will be whatever your characters name is.

Title: Link Plays With BowWow!
When: After returning BowWow to Madam MeowMeow.
Map Placement: K2
Getting there: Right outside Madam MeowMeow's house.

How to get photo:

After returning BowWow, go outside and walk up to BowWow. The Photographer
will take a picture of BowWow 'playing' with you.

Title: THEIF!
When: After returning BowWow to Madam MeowMeow.
Map Placement: J4
Getting there: In the Maybe Village Tool Shop.

How to get photo:

Steal something (anything) from the Town Tool Shop in Mabe Village. A
picture of you stealing stuff will automatically be added to your album
(you won’t see the Photographer this time).

Note: If you go back into the shop after stealing something, the shop
     keeper will kill you. Make sure you've already bought all items
     required to beat the game (the bow and shovel) BEFORE you do this.

     Additionally, all NPCs will refer to Link as THEIF for the rest of
     the game.

Title: Can't Swim?
When: Anytime after getting the Magnifying Glass.
Map Placement: 011
Getting there: 1 screen East, 1 screen South of the Catfish's Maw (the
              Fisherman under the bridge).

How to get photo:

Just talk to the Fisherman. He will try and catch something and fish up
the Photographer. The Fisherman falls overboard and the Photographer takes
a picture of him splashing in the water.

Title: I Found Zora
When: Anytime after getting the Magnifying Glass.
Map Placement: M14
Getting there: In the house in the upper right hand side of the Animal
              Village.

How to get photo:

Walk into the house and over to the pond in the upper right hand side.
There is a Zora living there that can only be seen with the Magnifying
Glass. The Photographer shows up and takes a picture of the meeting.

Title: A Regal Home
When: Right after Richard asks you to get the Golden Leaves, but before
     obtaining all five.
Map Placement: H10
Getting there: At the main gate of Kanalet Castle.

How to get photo:

Walk up to the main gate of Kanalet Castle BEFORE you open it. Richard will
walk up, saying that he wanted to see how the hunt was going. The
Photographer will take a picture of the two in front of the castle.

[email protected] has confirmed that once you have all five leaves, the
picture can no longer be obtained.

Title: I Was Very Afraid
When: After taking the ghost back to his grave.
Map Placement: G5
Getting there: 1 screen West of the Witch's Hut (at the grave).

How to get photo:

After returning the ghost to his grave, walk up and touch said grave. The
Photographer will come and take a picture of your good deed.

Title: Close Call
When: As soon as you get to the Hen House.
Map Placement: A10
Getting there: On the bridge 2 screens East of the Hen House.

Hot to get photo:

Just walk across the bridge. The Photographer will ask to take a picture.
When he's about to push the button, he'll trip and fall off the bridge.

5. - Printing Instructions
==============================================================================

GameBoy Printer:

1. Connect a GameBoy Printer to your Gameboy/Gameboy Color/Gameboy Advance.
2. Turn on your Gameboy and go to the Photo Shop.
3. Open your Photo Album, select the picture you want to print and press the
  A button (make sure your Gameboy Printer is turned on).

PC:

1. Open Link's Awakening DX in an emulator (you'll need a Gameboy emulator
  and a Link's Awakening DX ROM).
2. Go to the Photo Shop and pick the picture you want to print.
3. Switch to full screen (or just hit the Maximize button) and take a screen
  shot (push the 'print scr' key, almost all PC keyboards have one).
4. Open MSpaint, Edit > Paste.

Q: Will not getting a photo affect the out come of the game?
A: No, not in anyway.

Q: Emulators?
A: Programs that act in the same way as a game system. I'd recomend
  VisualBoyAdvance.

Q: ROMs?
A: A copy of a game that you can download. You'll have to find these on your
  own.

Note: Do NOT e-mail me about ROMs. I will not distribute them, nor will I
     tell you where to find them.
