[HELP]

Popeye 2 is an action-oriented platformer, with the titular character
Popeye being able to jump over enemies, punch at them and send projectiles from
afar, and run extremely fast. There are no puzzle characteristics to the game,
though there are several short split paths in each level.

--------
CONTROLS
--------
A - Jump, Increase height in water
B - Punch/Fire Projectiles
A + B - Long Jump
D-Pad - Move around
Start - Pause your game

-------
JUMPING
-------
Jumping in this game is extremely twitchy at times, and the author has
experienced numerous times where Popeye failed to respond to an application of
the Jump button.

Additionally, there is the use of a 'Long Jump' which is vital for
clearing levels. To do this, you must press the A + B buttons subsequently. Not
only is this needed for a lot of regular jumps, as Popeye gets both extra height
and distance out of it, but you also need to use it when jumping off rope
ladders littered throughout multiple ladders.

---------
ATTACKING
---------
Popeye starts out with a normal punch attack. When you have 5 or more
Spinachs active in your 'Spinach Bar', you get an upgraded fist and punch
attacks. With 7 Spinachs, a full bar, Popeye automatically shoots out a tin can
projectile with each punch he makes.

-----
ITEMS
-----
Throughout each stage, you can find items by breaking destroyable
bricks.

Spinach is the most common item, and serves dual purposes. Each Spinach
counts as a 'hit' that Popeye can take, so if you get damaged, grabbing more
Spinach refills his life bar. Popeye can carry up to 7 Spinach at a time, at
which point he also gets an extra projectile attack, as referenced above.

Occasinonally you will also find 1UPs that are just that, an extra life.

There also exists a black-and-white star which gives Popeye temporary
invulnerability to damage. During this time (you can tell when the power-up is
still active by his body flashing), any enemy he touches is automatically
killed.

The author is unsure of what precisely the Clocks do. He thought they
increased your timer count, but that does not appear to be the case, oddly
enough.

You will also find multiple COINS throughout each level. For every 100
of these you collect, Popeye gets an extra life.

[WALK]

To hop to a specific level, input the search code (CTRL + F):

       [LX-X]

Where the first X refers to the level, and the second X refers to the
sublevel. For bosses, jump to the precise level and sublevel and scroll down to
find the strategy.

LEVEL 1-1
---------
[1-1]

Start the very first level off by heading right and breaking the three
blocks in front of you with your oversized fist, grabbing a piece of Spinach in
the process, and ignore the bird flying overhead. Continue right past the tall,
thin tree and hop over the small gap of water.

Punch the crab crawling on the ground towards Popeye, then hop up onto
the platform above you. Break the lower six blocks if you want for a Spinach and
Clock (restores time to your timer), but leave the top two blocks intact. Jump
onto them and then onto the cloud to your right. Reverse directions, hopping up
and left. A note of warning: the different-coloured blocks right before the
second cloud will crumble into dust shortly after Popeye steps on them.

As you make your way left, break another tower of blocks, then jump down
and through the column of 20 coins. Drop to the ground from here, and continue
right along the ground floor. Once you approach an enclosure with a crab trapped
inside, destroy the crab through the wall, then next break the surrounding
blocks to grab the coins inside.

Continue right for awhile, ignoring the platforms as Popeye does not
have the jumping skills to reach them from so low. Instead, near a solid layer
of breaks, be prepared to jump a section of ground collapses underneath you,
then break through the layer of bricks to tunnel your way underneath a long
narrow ledge. You will get a power-up near the end that gives Popeye temporary
invulnerability.

Hop from the ledge up left pressing both the A and B button to give your
jump an extra long jump boost. Grab all the coins that form the outline of an
arrow point left, and follow the arrow with another long jump (A + B) to land on
top of a palm tree. Continue ascending the platforms to grab multiple coins from
up top a high platform.

Jump back down to the right, and go over to the ledge above where the
wall of bricks you punched through was. On top of the ledge, jump up underneath
either cloud and Popeye will hop up to the top of the cloud. Head right over
some more clouds, the top of a palm tree and some disintegrating blocks and open
the door when you get to the last cloud. Inside this room, grab as many coins as
you can, bouncing off the clouds (to do a high bounce you need to land on the
approximate centre of a cloud) - once you fall below the clouds, you will
automatically exit out the room.

Back outside, hop down to the left, landing right in front of the palm
tree trunk. Jump to the right, grabbing as many coins as you can, but do not
fall directly down - keep moving right so you avoid landing on disintegrating
blocks that will lead to a gap if you fall down too far.

Head right and kill a crab through the wall with your projectile attack.
Jump up onto the blocks, then left onto the palm tree, and continue up and
right. When going into the sky, ignore the top-left cloud which is a herring,
and instead hop off with an A + B long jump from the top-right cloud. If you
manage to land onto the next cloud, leap right and up to destroy a few blocks
more, grabbing a 1-Up in the process before falling down. Otherwise, head right
through the door to the next level.

LEVEL 1-2
---------
[1-2]

Head right and down the steps. Quickly dash past the disentegrating
blocks and onto the rop ladder. Climb the rope ladder up and hop off into a
small niche for 20 coins, then go down the rope ladder. Hop off the rope ladder
to the right to fall down quicker (do not jump off to the left or else you will
land into spikes). Down below, break open another brick wall.

Quickly run past some more disentegrating bricks and onto the left rope
ladder. Go up and hop over to the right rope ladder, then up some more and left
with an A + B jump onto solid ground. Climb over and freefall down, grabbing 4
coins in the process. On impact, quickly rush right and into a small niche in
the wall with a door. Inside this bonus room, grab all the coins on either side
that you can before returning back outside through the bottom open door.

Drop down back outside and kill the lizard from long-range with one of
Popeye's spinach projectiles. Climb up and right and go down the first rope
ladder, jump over left to a second and then a third before landing on a platform
with another lizard. Take it out then run left and past another rope ladder, and
freefall down the far left shaft for multiple coins (if you were to have gone
straight down any of the rope ladders it would have led to spike beds).

Head right and left over some more disintegrating blocks and grab more
coins as you fall down, then head up and left to another rope ladder. Continue
right once you land and break open a solid brick wall for a temporary
invulnerability power-up. Head right and down a rope ladder, then left past a
second rope ladder and break another 3x3 section of blocks for both a Spinach
and a Clock to increase your time.

Go down and kill the lizard, then head left. Take the first ladder you
come across all the way down, and eliminate the lizard on the platform below.
Rush over to the right side and climb the two rope ladders up. Make your way
around and destroy some blocks for a few more pieces of Spinach. Collect some
more coins while dropping down until you get to the door at the lower-right
corner of this level and can proceed to the next level.

LEVEL 1-3
---------
[1-3]

A note to make: the ceiling tiles you see in this level do NOT harm you
if you jump into them, so ignore it if they look vaguely like spikes.

Jump up to the right at the start a couple of platforms to grab several
coins, then double back left and up for more coins. From the second set of
coins, go up and right to a brick wall and destroy the blocks, taking a can of
Spinach in the process of destroying them. Hop right over top to two more
platforms with bricks and destroy them as well. The second tower will give you
another Invulnerability power-up.

Drop down right from where you get the power-up for temporary
invincibility, killing a lizard enemy just by contact with it, and you shall
also encounter the first case of falling ceiling tiles. There is no real easy
way of telling which tiles will drop ahead of time (the ones that do drop are
very slightly discoloured gray), but they are fixed instead of randomised.

Once you have set the tiles off, move back left and drop down to destroy
some bricks to your right set in the wall, and continue left to collect some
more coins. Hop up and right and continue once finished until you run into a 4x4
set of blocks. Break them but ignore jumping down for the coins. Instead, head
left over the platforms, breaking another two columns of bricks. At the left
end, move up and continue right.

Stop just shy of where the spike bed, and jump up and shoot Spinach
projectiles at the ceiling to knock out a tile that would have otherwise fallen.
Stop short of the next spike bed (stop where you would drop in elevation very
slightly from the left two floor tiles, then very slowly and gently move right
and drop down and do not move right any further) and jump and punch the ceiling
to destroy two more tiles in the ceiling, then break the columns of bricks in
front of you. You should get a Spinach out of them.

Continue right over the top platforms until you get to a door in a small
niche and enter. Inside, break the bricks and grab all the coins in here before
exiting out the right door. Back outside, head left for a while over the two
spike beds (remember to destroy the ceiling tiles, two at the right spike bed
and one at the left spike bed) and drop down after a while to where the coins
you were earlier directed to ignore are located.

Grab the coins while dropping down, then break the bricks to obtain a
Clock to restore time to your timer. Hop over a couple of gaps moving rightwards
from here and break open another couple of bricks obstructing Popeye's
movements, and receive a second Clock. Continue, taking some more coins at the
next hop over, and kill a lizard a couple of further jumps right. Head up and
left at the end and kill another lizard, then grab a Spinach and a Star power-up
from the next 8x2 column of bricks.

Head right over the small gap and jump over the spike pit and up. Run
right for 16 coins, then double back and fall through the small gap in the floor
to go down. Jump left for more coins, then go down to the bottom side of the
area and continue right. Where you fight another lizard, look for the very
telltale grey discolouration of about the middle roof tile and destroy it before
walking past.

Continue right and destroy the blocks down below. Only grab the first 9
coins - ignore the last 3 as there is a good chance you will fall if you try.
Instead, head left slightly and go up. Jump to the left two corridors for two
sets of coins. Once you reach the top, run right and fall down the right wall
and quickly press right on impact before two falling ceiling tiles strike you.

LEVEL 1-3 BOSS
--------------
Unbelievably, the first boss you face, which looks like a duck, can be
rendered a joke by a simple action: walk left to the bottom left corner (you
start slightly right of the corner). In this position, the duck will not be able
to harm you with its only real attack, sending out eight stars in the cardinal
and diagonal directions of its body mass. It does this after it has hopped twice
in either direction, first hopping three times to the left, then three times to
the right, and repeating.

If you have a full 7 Spinachs, you can fire like crazy using your
Spinach projectiles at the duck from afar until it falls. If you do not have the
full 7 Spinachs, wait until it gets close and has fired the Stars, rush right,
hit it a couple of times, then move back before it finishes its second jump and
fires out several star projectiles.

LEVEL 1-4
---------
[L1-4]

This is a sort of 'bonus' room to conclude Level 1 off after having
defeated the boss of the level. You can drop down to either side (but not both)
and collect coins and items from the bricks. The bricks on either side will give
you Spinach and a 1-Up.

LEVEL 2-1
---------
[L2-1]

Carefully jump across the floor over to where the coins are initially -
if you walk over, you will run over a collapsing floor tile. From where the
coins are, jump to the far right again to avoid another collapsing floor tile,
then hop up and left, grabbing some coins on the way. Take the rope ladders
right, obtaining the remainder of the coins in doing so.

Punch your way through the brick wall (and kill a lizard from long-range
if you have a full set of 7 Spinach on hand). Continue right, eliminating a few
more enemies, including what appears to be a venus flyplant. At the next rope,
drop down to the left, and destroy several sets of blocks before hopping to the
rop to your right and jumping past the pit.

In the next little bit of gameplay, you will have to make use of two
geysers which you can jump on and stand. The geysers go up and down, and as they
increase in height you can move onto the rope in between and then jump off at
the end. However, the geysers, when shrinking, also go entirely off-screen, so
be especially wary of that.

Continue right and wtch out for a falling set of tiles in the floor.
Head over a couple of more geysers after that. When the second one carries you
up, hop off to the left, destroying more bricks. Jump over multiple short
platforms to the end, then reverse directions and go right along the top side,
quickly destroying a brick wall to continue. Walk right for some times,
including a jump, until you encounter another wall of blocks. Destroy this set
as well, then head over to a rope ladder.

From the ladder, jump right and hop up the steps and move into the Bonus
Room. Head right, left and right again to grab all the coins inside of the Bonus
Room and then head back outside again.

Back out here, go left and drop off the side of the cliff, and press
right, and jump immediately on landing to avoid falling as Popeye's impact sets
off a collapsing floor tile. Head right and break a set of blocks.

Now, here is a tricky part as you want to get all these coins but there
are disintegrating floor tiles below you. First, move right and jump to set off
the triangular-shaped object hanging from the ceiling. Next, jump and punch to
break a couple of the top disintegrating blocks. Now, jump onto the first few
disintegrating blocks and quickly run right, and Popeye will just stay ahead of
the disentegration of the blocks.

Once you hit the end, you will be forced to take a hit from the spikes
as you break the brick blocks at the end, but you also get a Spinach from the
bricks so you can restore the hit you took. After, head right. Take the geyser
up and hop off at the left. Run to the end past the rope ladder for several
coins, then take the rope ladder up and jump off to the right. Run to the end
and hop off over the gap, then jump again to come to some more blocks.

Break the blocks for both a Spinach and a Life-Up. Fall down from here
to get multiple coins down below, then take the platforms here back up and right
to another rope ladder. Leap over to the next rope ladder and then onto safe
ground. Break the bricks over here for a Spinach. Head right slightly to fall
off without moving too fast that you risk landing on the spikes.

Take the next rope ladder and go down, then hop over a couple of ropes.
You will have a geyser at the right end that you can take. Wait for it to be
coming up before jumping on. Once it carries you up high, get off, take the last
rope ladder, and then head through the door up top to conclude this area.

LEVEL 2-2
---------
[L2-2]

This is the first water level of the game. As you move through the
water, Popeye will slowly drift down, but pressing the Jump button sees him gain
height in the water. Surprisingly for a water level, the controls are better and
more responsive than on dry land.

Wait for the first large fish to start swimming away moving right before
striking it with a long-range Spinach projectile if your bar is full. Otherwise,
work on breaking the three rows of brick blocks, then drop down and head right
to grab some coins while dodging or killing a jellyfish enemy.

Smash your way through another large mass of blocks as you move right
and tackle another jellyfish, and you will receive a Star power-up (temporary
invulnerability) for your efforts. Continue right and hammer another large
column of bricks aside to progress. From here, go down, then right and up when
you get the chance. Up top near the surface, head right some more until you get
to some coins and a door.

Enter the door, and inside the Bonus Room grab all the coins inside here
before exiting out via the open door to your right. Back outside, destroy the
shark above you, then head right all the way to the end, then drop down. Take
out another jellyfish and start moving right. Grab all the coins as you start
floating up, take out a shark enemy swimming around, then head into the door to
wrap up tihs area.

LEVEL 2-3
---------
[L2-3]

Punch your way through a couple of enemies at the start, then be sure to
fire a projectile at an incoming projectile or jump over it if you do not have a
full Spinach bar. Smash down the blocks and continue right, taking a few more
enemies out and breaking another column of bricks.

Hop onto the platform where the white sail is shortly thereafter, and
ascend up some more platforms for a lot of coins. Continue right again, watching
out for bone projectiles on the ground. When you get to several columns of
bricks, leave the ones on the bottom pile of wood intact. Instead, jump up to
the top mast, smash down all of the blocks up here, then lead over to the right
side for several coins. You can now double back and eliminate all the remaining
bricks, offing the enemies littered around the area in the process.

Continue right from here, sticking to the ground floor for the most
part, and walk through two sets of coins before taking out another skeleton foe
(again, watch out for bone projectiles). Break open the blocks and take some
coins at the end before heading through the door frame.

LEVEL 2-3 BOSS
--------------
To be certain, the Level 2-3 boss is even worse than the Level 1-3 boss
in how little effort the developers really put into this boss battle. Move left
at the start of the fight and turn around. When the boss, which is basically a
living ship's figurehead, comes around to near where Popeye is, jump and strike
her head to damage her. Repeat this step until she falls in battle.

LEVEL 2-4
---------
[L2-4]

In this next bonus area, you will have a massive amount of blocks that
you can punch through. Each side has several coins tucked away in two chambers
surrounded by blocks. The best way to attempt to tackle this is to shave off
small parts of the top of each section, jump over to the other section, then
shave off parts of that as well. If you jump and then hit the punch button just
prior to landing, Popeye can destroy several blocks underneath him, which you
will need to do after a while. There are no 1-Ups located within this level.

LEVEL 3-1
---------
[L3-1]

Hop up the crates and if you have a full Spinach Bar, shoot a tin can of
spinach out right to eliminate one of the pirates on the ship. Jump right onto
the ship and continue over some more boxes. Destroy the six triangles hanging
upside down from the pole while still standing on the crates, then head right,
knocking out a pirate guard and grabbing several coins.

Drop down to the ground floor of the ship again and head right, smashing
open a column of bricks, grabbing a Spinach in the process. Progress right again
and over a spike pit, eliminating another pirate. Dash over the disintegrating
blocks for some coins, then break open another column of blocks on the side
opposite.

Leap up the two sets of crates. Smash the next six triangles near the
next pole and grab all the coins lying underneath where the triangles were at.
Take out another pirate going right, and then a second one shortly after that,
patrolling around where multiple coins are.

Jump over another spike pit, break some blocks, take out a pirate and
then head through the door at the end into the next level.

LEVEL 3-2
---------
[L3-2]

Take out the ghost at the start of the level, then head right and jump
onto the rope ladder. Climb up, take out a crow from long-range if you can, then
hop left to the next rope ladder and then over to the destroyable bricks. Smash
them for a Spinach, then hop back over the rope ladders and onto the next
platform.

Walk right and hop onto a rope ladder. Climb down and jump onto the
bricks to your left and break them from the left side for a Spinach. Drop down
to the right and smash the bricks down here for a Star invulnerability power-up.
Head back up and left the two rope ladders, then go right over top and jump
right past the next rope ladder onto a platform. Continue right through use of
three consecutive rope ladders, and hop onto another mast platform.

Jump onto the long right rope ladder and climb up, slowly eliminating
any enemies flying around before hopping right off at the top. Make your way
past five rope ladders in a row before dropping off to the right at the last one
to land on another mast platform. Head right and take out a ghost before jumping
down to grab as many coins as you can, then enter through the door to finish
this area.

LEVEL 3-3
---------
[L3-3]

Strike down the first pirate in front you once the level starts, then
jump up to the right up some crates, then hop left up to some more platforms.
Once you make it to the top, run right and hop onto the first of many moving
rope ladders, and jump over to the next one when you get within cross-over
distance.

Drop down from the rope over top of coins underneath the disintegrating
blocks. Once they crumble, you can grab a lot of coins while fallign down. Head
left, smash a few blocks for a Clock and a Spinach, then take the rope ladder
back up, then go left and around up top again. You can try for more coins again
while falling down, or just continue on right.

Take the long ladder past the two moving rope ladders and drop down to
fall to the ground below. Head right and stop shy of the crates, and watch the
upper-right part of the screen. Once a barrel comes flying down, quickly dodge
to the left, then run right over the crates for some time until you get to more
breakable blocks. Smash them for some spinach, then head right. Move back to
dodge a barrel being thrown down below, then take out a pirate on the top
platform. Head left and eliminate another pirate carrying a barrel around.

Go up the rop ladder to your left, go up, then jump over the two moving
rope ladders. Walk across the top platform and take a final moving rope ladder,
and jump over a high stack of crates. Fall down on the other side of the crates,
take out a pirate way below, and smash some more blocks.

Climb up the crates to your right to get onto a platform and go left to
a rope ladder. Jump up to the middle row after eliminating a pirate carrying a
barrel from the rope with a Spinach projectile, then head right and smash
through a solid wall of bricks, which contains a Star power-up in the lower-
right corner of four bricks.

Go back left and onto the rope ladder, then go right and smash through
many more blocks. Go down a final rope ladder and beat up the pirate down here
to get by him and through the level-end door.

LEVEL 3-3 BOSS
--------------
This dinosaur boss is a little bit more involved than the last two
bosses, in that it is actually difficult to beat him without taking a single
hit.

The dinosaur will start by snapping his head out at an angle going down-
left and breathe three bursts of fire, one of them going straight. As Popeye, go
to the left side of the room and jump to avoid it. The timing for this is a bit
tricky.

Head right immediately after and punch the dragon in the face, then stay
underneath it as it breaths three more breaths of fire from a position with its
head straight up. If you stay right underneath it, you can dodge all the fire.
You need to be careful with your timing in running back left, however - you
cannot move too fast or you will run into fire, but if you move too slow, you
will get hit by the dinosaur bringing its head back down.

An alternative strategy that requires you to take a hit but renders you
invulnerable after is to run up to the dinosaur and jump onto its back spine.
Once you are situated on its spine, you can hit it from behind and it literally
can never injure you from that position.

LEVEL 3-4
---------
[L3-4]

This bonus area is a bit more involved than the prior two, as you have
to swim around to get your coins and blocks. Ignore the blocks spread throughout
this level as there are enough coins that you will be wasting your time on
blocks.

Drop down to the bottom at the start and head right for an initial batch
of coins. Continue right until you get to some more coins, then swim up for two
more columns of coins. Swim right from here and collect more coins that form the
word "POPEYE". Punch one final block to your right for a 1-Up, then continue to
the door at the end to finish the level.

LEVEL 4-1
---------
[L4-1]

Break through the blocks to your right at the start to get a Spinach
that can be useful for restoring damage left over from the 3-3 boss fight, then
hop up the palm trees to the left for some coins. Continue on right up high in
the sky through use of clouds and palm tree tops.

Fall down to grab the first set of two columns of coins, then use the
bouncy cloud down below to jump back up to the left, lower cloud. Do a long jump
over to the next cloud and drop down to grab more coins. On the ground, quickly
eliminate a starfish and then jump up and right over some more palm trees and
clouds, and grab some more coins.

Once you see the bonus room door, ignore it, and head right along the
clouds and palm trees below it until you gain some height, then head back left
along the clouds up high. Grab all the coins that you can get from the Bonus
Room before you fall off.

Exiting out from the Bonus Room, head right over palm trees and clouds
again, continuing to get coins all the way up to the door at the end of the
level (ignore the coins right before the door as it takes quite a while to get
back around up top).

LEVEL 4-2
---------
[4-2]

Eliminate a lizard at the start, then head right to the rope ladder.
Drop down and arrest your fall at the first opportunity to go left. Hop over a
pair of spike pits and take out a lizard on the opposite side, then drop down
two disintegrating blocks. Take one rope ladder down, and eliminate a bat enemy.
With the second rope ladder, jump off to the left side and freefall down
pressing left to land on a high ledge.

Take another rope ladder to your left and climb this down normally. Once
you hit the bottom of the rope ladder, hop to the right and enter the Bonus
Room. Grab all the coins on one side of this room and then exit back outside.

Jump to the rope ladder below and to your left side and take it down.
Hop right over a few platforms, then down and left over a few spike pits. Take
the rope down at the end, kill another lizard enemy, and smash your way through
multiple blocks, grabbing some Spinach and a Clock in the process.

Take the ladder to your right down, then kill a couple of lizards as you
progress left. Fall down the next ladder, jump up, eliminate a bat, and leap
over the spikes to still another rope ladder. Grab the coins on this side and
take the ladder down, and move to the left ladder.

Grab all the coins in here, then step onto the disintegrating blocks to
go down further. Eliminate a lizard if it is near you and take the left rope
ladders to travel further down into the cave. Eliminate another lizard and smash
through the blocks, obtaining a Clock in the process. Take the long rope ladder
down, killing still another lizard, then jump to the left to a rope ladder.

Head right and go down another rope ladder. At the bottom where numerous
ropes are present, take the far right rope to smash some blocks for two Spinach
and a block, then jump over to the rope second-from-the-left. Drop down here to
destroy some disintegrating blocks and finally land in the level exit.

LEVEL 4-3

Jump right onto the first moving rope and then the second, then drop
down from the second moving rope. Move down the small blocks and go right to
smash some bricks for a Spinach. Head left until you can see the ground floor
below you, then drop down to the bottom. From there, move right, eliminating a
Venus flyplant.

Hop onto the ladder and eliminate another Venus flyplant from afar if
you have projectiles on you, and smash the blocks behind it for a Spinach and a
Star power-up. Take the rope ladder up and hop off to the right, slaying another
Venus flyplant. Jump right from the next ladder, eliminating still another
flyplant, and smash through more brick blocks.

Continue onwards, destroying another column of bricks, and eliminate a
lizard from long range if you can. Head down the long ladder and break the
blocks to your right for a Spinach and a Clock, then climb the next long ladder
up to the ceiling to where there is a moving rope located. Use it to make your
way to another rope, then climb down and jump twice more right and over.

Smash some more blocks and follow it up with a takedown of another Venus
flyplant. Drop down the rope to the ground below and wait for the fire to
subside before jumping over it. Be careful with the first spire of rock as you
hop over it - it shall collapse into the pit below as soon as you land on it.
Hop quickly to the next platform, wait for the next belly of fire to go down,
and then continue right with a long jump. Break through the blocks here, off the
lizard, then head through the door to take on the last boss.

LEVEL 4-3 BOSS
--------------
This enemy, a tall pharoah-like enemy, mostly spits out fireballs in a
'medium-low-high' pattern. In the medium fireball, which he starts out with, the
fireball is low enough to hit Popeye's head. However, if you duck once it starts
moving left, it will fly over your head. For the low fireball, you have to jump
over it. The high fireball, meanwhile, will go left until it is vertically
aligned with Popeye, then go straight down - run left or right to dodge it once
it starts falling.

To damage the Pharoah, you need to get in close enough for your
projectiles to actually hit him (or even closer if you do not have any
projectiles). After you deal enough damage, the Pharoah will start rushing left
after each fireball, so quickly run back left as soon as you get your hit off on
him, then move right again.

LEVEL 4-4 BOSS
--------------
[L4-4]

Here, you have to fight Brutus. Brutus does not have any easy spots to
avoid damage or anything, so you will have to make do with going up onto the
platform and facing left, and punching Brutus whenever he gets close. It is also
possible to jump onto his head and have him 'stall out' in moving around, and
then just punch and wail away at him until he is finally defeated, but the
author has a difficult time replicating this.

browser cookies often) any items you buy within the next 90 days will count as a
'referral order' to me, meaning I get anywhere from 4-6% as a referral/affiliate
payment of what you ordered (ie. order $100 worth of stuff, I get $4-6 from
Amazon.com)

Other than that, considering this FAQ is for an obscure old game, if you
have any other obscure old games that you do not play anymore, consider sending
them to me (I will even pay the shipping cost!). I write FAQs for plenty of
obscure old games with no FAQs, and having a physical copy of the game (and even
better, a manual) is superior to not. You can email me if interested at

Although I believe I have found everything there is to find in this
game, there is occasionally the possibility of some super secret level in an
obscure game that was never found because it was too obscure, or the like. If
you have anything that you feel needs to be includes, feel free to email me at
