1.4 Shooting Tips
-------------
Shooting might be a diificult task for a new-comer, but it can be rather easy
as you practice. You have to tap A once to jump, but you won't shoot here. You
have to gauge your height and tap A again to shoot. The best time to shoot is
when you're on the top of your jump. Three-pointers are extremely difficult
to do here, whether if you shot at the top of your jump or not. The closer you
are to the net, the more room for error you have. So, get close and you should
make most of the shot! Running lay-ups are very good here.

Summary:

-Shoot when you're on the top of your jump
-Don't do three-pointers, they're not worth the misses
-Lay-ups are very good
-The closer you are, the better your chance of making a basket

[2.0] the players
     ========================================================================

*I saw no difference in the shooting of each player in this game, so everybody
here is really equal, so don't worry about deciding between Jordan or Malone.

Also, the game has a player from every team, so you team has to be on there,
except if it's a new franchise team or something.

[3.0] one-on-one
     ========================================================================

Really easy, basic basketball. You will have an option to select a player for
yourself and your opponent (CPU). Then you will duke it out with him.

-------------
3.1 Rules
-------------

    Play to: You can play in a set time (see time limit) or up to a point
            value (can be anywhere from 1 to 99)

Skill level: 1 is the easiest, 3 the hardest

Winners outs: With this on, the person who scored will keep the ball for the
             next possession

 Time Limit: 2, 5, 8, or 12 minutes.

-------------
3.2 Penalties
-------------
Also, there will be penalties on. Charging, blocking, goaltending, traveling
penalties will be called.

Charging: When the ball handler heads for the stationary defenseman (not
         moving) and knocks him down. (In this game, the defenseman won't
         fall, but it will be charging if you hit him hard). The offense
         will have a new 24-second clock.

Blocking: The defenseman bumps/hits the shooter as he is shooting. New 24-
         second clock for the offense.

Goaltending: The defenseman touches the ball as it is coming down for the
            net. Two/three points will be awarded to the shooter.

Traveling: When you jump up for a shot, and doesn't shoot before you come
          back down. The defense will take the ball. (Standard traveling
          will not happen here)

Shot Clock: When the 24-second clock runs out before you hit the rim. The
           ball will be given to the other player.

-------------
3.3 Tips
-------------
-Always go for the lay-up, it's the easiest shot to make.
-Don't go head-to-head against the opponent, just go around him to avoid a
charge.
-On defense, just stand around the rim and wait for the shot and grab the
rebound. It is impossible to play real defense here.
-Or, you could tap B to try to steal the ball, but it is diffuclt. You have
a better chance of getting a penalty than getting a steal.
-Set the score limit to 1 and just go for the basket, make the lay-up and
you have the game won! HARHARHAAAAA!!!!

[4.0] free throws
     ========================================================================

Shooting the free throws here has no merit, sinc you can only do this solo
and as a mini-game.

To shoot a free throw, use the D-Pad to navigate the cursor left or right.
Press A when the cursor is in the middle of the square of the backboard. A
tiniest error will cause your throw to miss.

Tips: Use left and right to keep your cursor in the middle, and let the game
move it up and down. Shoot when the time is right...

[5.0] horse
     ========================================================================

Here, you can play a standard game of horse. Pick a spot and shoot the ball.
If you made the shot, the next player will have to duplicate the shot. If he
misses, he gets a H. Miss 5 times will yield a HORSE, and that will make him
the loser.

To duplicate your opponent's shot, just go to the spot marked as 'x' and the
player will lock his position and face the basket. All you have to do is to
make the shot.

Tips on making the shot - don't try from the 3-point line... Make a middle-
sized shots, computers can miss those quite easily.

H-O-R-S-E!

______________________________________________________________________________
[6.0] accuracy shootout
     ========================================================================

You will play this solo. Here, a series of spots will be revealed to you.
Stand over a spot marked with 'x' and shoot the ball. If you made the shot,
you will get the points. If not, just get the ball and to to the next spot.
Continue until the time runs out.

Remember to shoot at the height of the jump!

[7.0] tournament
     ========================================================================

In the touranment, you will select 8 players at first - 4 for yourself, and
4 for the CPU. Then, you will play an one-on-one for each pair. The victor
will move on to the final four. When the last 4 has been decided, you will
select the players as the ones you will be using once again, whether if they
were the ones you used before or not.

The exact same rules from the one-on-one setup apply here.

Keep going and see who's the winner!
