Your aim is to step on every spot on a level to tile it. The bottom floor does
not count as it will not change shape. I will not tell you how to get each
single spot on the floors, and you need to learn how to jump without
dying/falling down and which steps to take before sliding down.
Press A to jump and the direction buttons to move around. Up and Down will
climb ladders, use elevators, use tubes and hoists etc. You cannot fall down
safely when it is more than roughly half your height. You can, however, jump
from platform to platform safely as long as they are on this kind of height.
Jumping can be pretty awkward, if you press into a direction and jump you will
most likely fall to your death many times. Instead, jump up and then move into
the direction so you can control it slightly better.
Transporters take you to another part of the station. When you stand in front
of one, the small number next to the lives is the destination. It will cycle
through all available exits while you stand around. The destination
transporter will also flash the number above should it be in view.
Collect the items to make the enemies flash, and then you can eliminate them
with a touch. Enemies always walk from left to right at the same pattern, and
will not suddenly turn the other direction. Very predictable.
For every step you transform the floor you get 20 points. Other ways of
gaining more points is to kill enemies and collect the items. Finally, the
time left on your clock will also be added to the total score!
These hints are based on the 1 player game, not 2 player.
Station 1 - The Slides: G0301
````````````````````````
Optionally you can grab the pickax on the left and defeat the two enemies now,
but it is not necessary. Climb up the ladder where you start off, walk left a
little to cover the ground and then go up on the right. Grab the key, jump to
kill the enemy above and then jump left to the platform a little below.
Walk left off the platform and up the ladder. Collect the gem and kill the
enemy. Continue climbing and take out the enemies at the top, or wait for
both to have gone right where you can quickly take the ring to kill them at
this point. Take a quick detour down the short ladder, then back up and down
the next one. Slide down the left chute. Try to get most of the ground covered
here, you'll most likely slide down the two chutes while trying. Get back up
to the top and then take the final chute on the right, but make sure
everything around it has been taken care off so the stage ends when you arrive
at the bottom.
Station 2 - The Transporters: G0302
``````````````````````````````
This one's much easier than the previous level and there are several ways to
finish it off. Here's one way: Grab the item and dispatch the enemy on the
left. Go up on the left side, then jump up and kill the enemy before the
charge runs out. Climb down to the lower ledge and then jump over to right
until you reach the end. Return to the left side and go up to the Hero's
Medal. With that you can kill the enemy on this ledge and the two above, as
well as collecting the key. When you're done with the plaster on the top
level, take the transporter to the third level and jump over to the right.
With these items you can slay the last two enemies and finish up your round.
Station 3 - Calisthenics: G0303
``````````````````````````
Ignore the key (get it for points) and use the transporter to get to the top
left corner. Up there, jump across the tiny platforms and over the slide.
First clear the ledge on the right and then jump back and go down the slide.
Jump right and continue down. Now make your way to the left, there are plenty
of icons too keep your charge up. Climb down the ladder, slide down and then
jump to the right to about where you started off. Overall not very hard but
some tiny ledges can make you jump to your death.
Station 4 - Utility Hoist: G0304
```````````````````````````
First off, take the key and clear this platform. Jump on the hoist and then
move it down to the next platform. Press B to stop the hoist. Jump to your
left and clear this out before the charge runs out. Next up is the upper right
part of the station. Move the hoist just below the tiny platforms and clear
these going upwards, not down where the rat is. Back on the hoist, get to the
lower left. Get the gem below the level you have cleared, the charge will last
long enough to get the enemies below (go down via hoist) but there is also
another medal and a gem in the corner down the ladder. From down here, walk
right and kill the rat, then get back up the ladder on the right-hand side.
Grab the pickaxe and make sure you have cleared this platform before going the
final few platforms. Kill all enemies but leave the rat platform for the very
last as there is no way to get down from here. There is also no way to drop
down onto this platform, thus you need to keep it for the finishing clearance.
Let's hope you didn't leave any tiling undone.
Station 5 - The Suction Tubes: G0305
```````````````````````````````
Start by cleaning this platform, and the one below. With the icon you can
safely jump over to the right and into the suction tube. On the other side,
clear the platform. Jump to the right and go up through the tube. Clear this
platform before moving to the left, up and from platform to platform. On the
left side, clear the right side of the platform before sliding down, by
jumping from around the middle of the previous platform. Then jump back right
to clear the lower platforms as you arrive back where you started. Climb down
the stairs and you should have enough to kill the foe. As you slide you will
clear the tiny left bit of this platform so don't try any funky jumps. You do
need to be lucky here, that the moving platform doesn't catch you on your
slide down. If so you need to quickly get back and try again. At the bottom
floor, clear out the icons for points should you want to, then climb up the
left ladder to finish the level.
Station 6 - Bob's Playroom: G0306
````````````````````````````
You need to warp up several times and slide down. You can do these in any
order but following them in this one is a little clearer.
- 3rd floor, jump over the slide to clear the right side, then slide down to
the bottom. Jump left if you still have the icon flashing to kill the foes
here while you slide to the bottom.
- 3rd floor, slide down on the left chute all the way to the bottom.
- 3rd floor, jump on the moving platform and then jump into the slide to
get down. Jump to the right to kill the enemies and slide to the bottom.
- 3rd floor, jump on the moving platform and then jump to the very edge of the
left area so you don't slide down. Jump over the slide and take the next one
down.
- 2nd floor, slide down the left side, then repeat on the other one.
Unless the game has screwed you over by not clearing any tiles where you
surely did touch, this should be all.
Station 7 - Jumping 101: G0307
`````````````````````````
This isn't too straightforward so pay close attention. First you need to jump
over the foe that is coming from the left, it required a very exact jump. Get
up on the platform and now the fun begins.
Grab the ax and kill the foe, jump slightly higher than this and then over to
the platform below the Hero Cross. Drop down on the left, now continue to the
right and up the two platforms that go towards the top left. From here you
will need to turn around and return to where you picked up the Hero Cross. Be
aware that you should only drop down from the second tallest platform on the
right side, not the slightly higher one. Back on the left, continue up and
jump left from the next platform already. Get the foe above and then continue
right. There are plenty of icons to keep the enemies flashing as you make your
way to the left.
Station 8 - Yukon's Penthouse: G0308
```````````````````````````````
Very easy. You need to climb up three times and slide down twice. Start on any
side, perhaps left, clear all plateaus as you go up, and get both sides of the
chute before sliding down. Now get up in the middle bit, at the top just jump
right to the highest platform and slide down. Finally, climb up the ladders on
the right until you have cleared the last floor at the top.
Station 9 - Luxury Transporters: G0309
`````````````````````````````````
This isn't too straightforward, you have to do bits here and there to complete
all. Time isn't too bad but the icons to kill enemies seems less clustered as
in previous levels.
Jump right over the chute to get the icon and slay the foe. Then slide down
when the rat is underneath to kill it as well. At the bottom, run left and
take the transport to 3. Slide down the left and go back up to 3. This time
slide down on the right side and return to 3 once more. This time go right
along the small platforms. The icon won't flash too long so quickly take out
the two foes up there, before you slide down on the right, taking out another
enemy on the way. Walk left across the 5 transporter, jump to the platform on
the left just so you do not slide down. Jump over this chute where the badge
is, clear it before you slide down to the bottom. Now take the transporter on
the left to 2, get moving to the left, and back to the transporter. So now
there are just a few small patches left. Transport to 4 and get ready for some
precise jumping. Get the key and slay the rat by jumping just up and after a
short delay pressing right. If you move too early you might end up sliding
down, but you want to land just above the 5 transporter. From here, jump right
before the chute, then onto the small platform further right. Clear the rest
of the small platforms as you go up and finally slide down the left chute to
get the rest of the floor cleared.
If you make a mistake somewhere you should have enough time to use an elevator
and try again.
Station 10 - Acid Rain: G0310
```````````````````````
As the name suggests, you are dealing with acid rain drops throughout the
level. They move slow, which can be good and bad. As this is very random you
will need to try and avoid them yourself. On the black and white screen it's
sometimes hard to see and they can hide behind some scenery, thus before you
slide down a chute you need to check first. Apart from that the level isn't
very challenging.
Start by jumping up to the small platform below the moving lift. Get higher
and start clearing everything to the left including enemies, all the way to
the next hero medal. Now it's important that you jump on the higher of the
small platforms and not the slightly lower one. Go on that one second though.
Get to the highest area and clear it, take the transporter to 2 and jump left
over the slide but try to get all pieces cleared on this platform to save time
later. Drop down to the next plateau and then on the hammer to start a long
slide, so check if any drops have been coming down around here lately. Jump
left (get the enemy on the way!) and back up the ladder. Slide down the small
chute and make sure you jump onto the next slide because the game won't give
you the tiny patch on the right side of this platform if you just walk into
it. Now get on the moving platform and then go right just before it arrives
there as our hero takes a second to react. Collect the black gem and then make
your way up the ladder to kill the foe. Jump up to the platform above and then
if you got the patches above here earlier when I told you to try and get them,
all you would need to do is slide down here. If you didn't make it, find a
transporter to 2 and get it now, there should be plenty of time for it. I
suggest jumping right off this platform though, as the jump to the right or
down to the moving platform aren't too easy.
026-9ED-E66 Start with 2 lives
046-9ED-E66 Start with 4 lives
086-9ED-E66 Start with 8 lives
002-239-E6E Infinite time
002-3DB-E6E Infinite lives
039-CAF-E6A Enemies are invincible
Note: Having the time cheat on at the end of a level will give you unlimited
points. This might sound nice at first but as the game won't stop
counting, you cannot advance to the next stage. Switch it off when you
are done with the station should you use it.
You die a horrible way, unfortunately too often as well. The most annoying
part has to be the small patches of the floor you have to get to by idiotic
jumps that could kill you 50% of the time, or waste so much time that the
(short) timer runs out, in which case it's also game over for you. To be
honest the main reason it took me so long to complete was the bad jumping that
makes you die so often. It's not bad enough that Bob cannot jump properly,
but he also drops like a bag of rice. Very poor.
Graphics: 5/10
They are quite average for a GameBoy game.
Sound: 4/10
A little boring tune, always the same. The sound effects are a total misfit
with the futuristic setting.
Overall: 4/10
Tough little bugger that relies on frustration to take long to finish. If you
finish this without cheating, you are pretty good. 10 levels just isn't good
enough and 2-player co-op isn't much fun either.
Big Five Software for this game.
